The sky was as grey as his mood. Beneath it, the ocean churned in a dark shade of slate blue, adding more grey tones to the dreary atmosphere. It'd been two days since his return to Dahlia, and though he'd visited the house he'd shared with Alexey, he had yet to move back in. Things were decidedly rocky between the former lovebirds, and Drey had no desire to fracture things even more by being constantly around her. Complicating matters was the fact that Haku's half-grown son had moved in during Drey's absence, and it was quite clear that Conor had taken the foremost place in Alexey's heart. If the Stormbringer moved back in too soon (if at all, to be honest), it would likely make the boy uncomfortable, which would sour things with Alexey even further. No, he couldn't even think about returning to the house until he'd had ample time to get to know the boy who now called it home.

Emerald eyes stared out absently across the sea as he sighed. The male sat cross-legged on a large grey rock overlooking the beach, his sides moving softly as he breathed in the world. It had only been two months that he'd been away, and yet so much had changed. He was alone this time; the sister who'd been his original reason for coming to Dahlia was now recovering from a nightmarish ordeal back in the Valley, her mate by her side. Drey knew she and Elliott would probably return eventually, but he could wait no longer. When he finally had word that Kol would survive to recover fully, he'd quickly said his important farewells and slipped out in the middle of the night. His single thought had been getting back to Lexey.

It hadn't taken very long to make the journey, though he'd had to rest often as his still-healing body had been sapped of its healthy stamina in the months before. He knew to expect the woman's anger when he returned, but he hadn't expected for her to take so long to overcome it once she knew what had happened. It wasn't as if Drey and Kol had deliberately abandoned her, after all. Then again, he was also aware that women tended to hold onto intense emotion longer than men for whatever reason, and betrayal and anger were two of the most stubborn emotions he knew of. For Lexey, he'd wait.

The male sighed as he shifted his weight slightly. He'd already been sitting there for more than an hour, but he had no idea of the passage of time. Today, all that mattered was getting his jumbled thoughts and feelings in order, and the seemingly abandoned expanse of Whisper Beach seemed the perfect place for such an endeavor.

OOC: Hai! 300+

Dead. The word rang in the grey male's head, spinning around and around like a broken disk, no sound coming but a thin, drawn out wail, like the dying sounds of a wounded animal. Ril'o was dead. Lubomir had not met the wolf in person, but he had not heard anything bad spoken of him, so he assumed that he had been a productive member of the pack and that his death would be mourned by the pack. Svara and Firefly leaving, that too had affected him, though certainly not by much. The brat had been foul-mouthed and obnoxious, a horrible child, spoiled and told she could do as she pleased. Firefly, on the other hand, Lubomir had mixed feelings on. She had been the temptress, so long ago, and she had wounded him slightly upon his return, but he had never felt as if he had been wronged by her. He resolved to find her, if he could, and express regret at her departure. The matter of the puppies he could bring up with her then.

The sky was dark and it seemed so fitting. Ril'o had died, right within the packlands. Lubomir had been there, somewhere, and he could do nothing. Things with him and Mew stood no better, she could not just forgive him for going and hanging around Inferni members. Could he blame her? Not really. She had suffered at the hands of the Holocaust woman and she would not accept things lying down. It was what he loved about her, the fact that he could say something and she would voice an opinion, regardless of what he believed. Strong, brave, intelligent. His angel, now angry with him. Angry like the incoming storm. The male walked towards the shore, the only place to offer him solace these days. It seemed that he wasn't alone.

The male smelled on faintly of Dahlia, so it must have been a newcomer. Lubomir nearly turned back, too worn out to socialise. But he recalled that he was an Ambassador who should cultivate relationships in and outside the pack. He would not be a coward, not at all. Coming up next to the stranger, the male sat down and tucked his tail around his legs. He sat in silence for a few moments before turning to the other and saying, "The sea's turmoil mirrors that of Dahlia so well these days. Welcome to the pack, I am Lubomir." He dared not say more. It was obvious that he was in a strange mood, but so was this male. It would not surprise him in the least if he got up and walked away. Lubomir could not blame him, not really. The weather was not conducive to talking, but he did have to admit that some companionship would be nice.

OOC: Oh hai! XDD

He'd been completely lost in his thoughts when the other male approached. His sudden arrival pulled the russet male out of his trance, and stretched his tense body as the stranger took a seat beside him. He smelled unmistakably of Dahlia, and Drey remembered coming across his scent around the packlands the first time he'd been around. Whoever he was, the male had called the pack home for awhile now, and was definitely not a newcomer. The Stormbringer at first thought of breaking the silence himself, but after a few moments, the stranger was the first to do so. At the mention of the sea, Drey turned his emerald eyes back to it, and then up to the roiling clouds that reflected the tempest of his inner thoughts. A sad smile tugged the corner of his lips as he formed a comment for the other's statement. "It would seem that way, wouldn't it? I know I missed a lot in the two months I was gone from Dahlia, but it definitely seems the pack is even more on edge than the first time I was here."

The filix let silence hang between the pair again for a few minutes, before finally acknowledging the other male's introduction. Tilting his head slightly, his grass-green gaze slipped back to his companion. "Thanks for the welcome, though this time around I guess it's a 'welcome back.' Name's Dreyrugr, from the Stormbringer clan so many people seem to know about. Seems I'm living up to our family name today." He winked at Lubomir, inclining his head toward the messy stormclouds above them. They were moving in quickly, and would probably open the sky to a flooding downpour within the next half hour or so. Drey wasn't bothered by rain in the slightest, and he actually revelled in the energy of a raging storm. It was when he truly felt the most alive.

OOC: I'm terribly sorry for the delay D: 300+

Ah. So he had been here before, which obviously explained the way he seemed so at ease. Generally, the newcomers spent their days exploring the lands, but this male had found his place with no trouble at all. Lubomir couldn't blame him for coming back, for wanting to call Dahlia a home. It might not be the most stable pack, not with Haku at the helm, but the way he saw it, things could be much worse. He mulled over the male's words, thinking of what had happened. The pups had disappeared and reappeared, the new pups had dropped on Cercelee, Firefly had been thrown out. So much indeed. "How much do you know? When did you leave? I trust you know Haku and Firefly's pups went missing. They're back now. There's also some new faces running around. Firefly is banned from the lands. But most recently, one of our own was killed." His voice lost its strength, faded away as yellow eyes looked back over the sea.

Stormbringer. Lubomir couldn't say he was familiar with the name, but a slow smile did split his maw as the male joked about the weather. "Oh, it certainly seems your coming here had brought the storms to Dahlia. In case you don't mind, I'll weather out the storm, in your company." The grey male relaxed slightly and thought about this Drey. Whom had he been seen with? His memory was fuzzy, a sign of his age, of course, or so he liked to believe. And then his mind lit up and he sat back up, blinking in confusion at the Stormbringer beside him. "Alexey? The Koios girl! I saw you beside her at the Dahlia celebrations." His heart was racing. The female might be a taboo subject. But Lubomir had faith in his position in the pack and the fact that curiosity burned in his eyes. He felt a fondness for the Koios girl and he would not take anyone hurting her, no matter the reason.
