The prairie-like grounds of Inferni sprawled in all directions, unending and seemingly boundless. To a child that was the case; home was the world, and the world did not exist past where home existed. Valkyrie was young enough to live in such a world, but old enough to recognise there was more than just prairies and sparse trees, a mansion and a beach, a mountain in the backdrop, and the sky overhead. Sometimes she yearned for it, and sometimes she didn't want to believe it was out there. Sometimes, she liked to think their little universe was infinitesimally more significant than others. In that world, though, Haven Aatte did not exist.
The rain over Inferni was arguably light, but dreary. The sky was dark with it, and it fell in gently slopping arcs to the earth that hungered for it. In the midst of all that grass lay Valkyrie with eyes closed and ears pressed lightly back against it, cold but not horribly so, for she enjoyed how it felt. It slicked down through her fur and darkened even the cocoa powder markings, making them look utterly black. Black like the sin she was, but she wasn't aware of such things at present.
At present, the de le Poer was more concerned with her dozing in the rain, where the fact that her father had never made a conscious appearance in her life to be that father was not a niggling worry in the back of her young mind.

Zana had been climbing the trees and looking for birdnests to get into when the rain had begun. She'd climbed into the branches of a maple tree and had sat there to watch the rains. It had taken her a while to realize that she wasn't alone on this stretch of the clan lands and a small giggle escaped her lips as she loaded a large blueberry into the slingshot and with a quick snap she sent it flying towards Valkyrie. She had no wants to hit the girl but she knew the berry would do little more than splatter on her pelt if it did hit her.

Popping another berry in her mouth she nibbled on the berry, glad that there were no pits to spit out like other berries she'd found in the past. The dusky blueberries were sweet enough but she knew that if she ate too many of them she'd be sick. The small Lykoi girl finished the last few that she'd picked off the bushes before settling down and wishing that Val would figure out what was going on soon.
