OOC STUFF

Let me show you the wonders of life

Hanna lay on her back on a slight hill in Overgrowth Sunrise, her arms folded into a pillow for her head. Had she been looking, she'd have been presented with an awesome view of her favorite statue in the cemetary below, that of the Virgin Mary. As it were, she was staring up at the fluffy white clouds, deep in thought.

It had been a couple months since Haku had run her out of Dahlia de Mai for trying to help the dark male, Hiei, whom she'd not seen since they escaped. Hanna had railed at Haku for a small time when he'd made her leave without her belongings. She had feared that she would not get them back. Luckily, Lubomir had come by and escorted her back in.

She retrieved what she deemed most important, her satchels filled to brimming. She took only three books with her, two on tanning and a cookbook; her skins that she'd tanned herself; and then of course the items that regularly stayed in her satchels.

They'd briefly discussed the tattoo he'd requested, and she'd agreed that if he'd give her the colors he wished and would draw the word he wanted so she had a template, Hanna would do the tattoo as soon as she got the ingredients together. She'd started looking just after.

Thinking of Lubomir made her wonder how Mew was doing. She hadn't seen her niece in a fair amount of time, which saddened her. As her aunt, she should have kept in touch better, with Haku as well as with Mew. Hanna turned over, staring at the packland below. She debated calling out for Mew, but as large as the Dahlian packlands were now, there was no guarantee Mew would hear her. In the end, Hanna ended up dozing off under the warm sun.

........
........

It seemed as if everything that ran through the female's head was old news lately. Her mind swerved around a few chosen subjects. Her children, Inferni, Lubomir, Haku, Alexey and her nephews were the usual ones, and after that there could be random subjects, but some recurring ones were thoughts about her other family members. Her mother and her sister, and her aunt. Those were the ones she knew and trusted - Haku was strange, and when Alexey seemed to have taken over the two little boys, she could only add that fact to a growing pile of mysterious events around his character. He had, after all, started a war. Colibri was gone, and Colibri the younger - her own niece - was busy as young people were. Melisande had been missing ever since the three children separated and went into the world, and it seemed as if no one had ever heard from her again. The two girls had never gotten along, so it wasn't that important, but it still stung her heart a little to think about her own failure in seeking the female out. They were litter-siblings, after all, and her heart was soft for family relations. Speaking of, her aunt had not been seen by her for months, although she had heard the dark femme was around. This day she was not seeking her out, however, but was taking her usual walk after visiting the children's grave.

........The statue in the middle of the graveyard towered behind her like a projection of purity as her two legs carried her from the scene of death and onto the scene of life. Overgrowth sunrise was never a dull place to be if your eye sought the aesthetic in nature - and in excess of it. Everywhere everything sprung with life, and while it had certainly been a proper feast of life in spring-time, it was still lush and green in every direction, soothing her mind and helping her digest the constant nail in her side. Her guilt towards her children, who lay buried in the graveyard she now left. Although, this day, as her thoughts were attempted forced onto other subjects than the usual, it got a little extra push in the right direction. There, amongst all the plants and green - laid her aunt. Her pace quickened as she approached the dark lady with a smile, calling out her name as she did so.

........"Auntie! What on earth - I was just thinking about you!"

Finished.

Let me show you the wonders of life

The ebony female, for all she dozed, dropped into a dream that was more of a nightmare. There was no linear motion to the events of the nightmare, only visions of young pups looking like they were emotionally wounded, pups she didn't recognize, and a pair of ocean blue eyes, similar in hue to Haku's. She didn't recognize the pups, nor did she feel any vibes that the blue eyes had anything to do with the pups hurting. It was confusing and disconcerting all at once.

Then a familiar voice cut through the nightmare. Hanna sat up slowly, stretching her lithe body out and then beaming at her niece from where she knelt on the ground. "Ahh, Mew, I'm so glad to see you in fine fettle. Coincidentally, I was thinking of you as well. I owe you some congratulations, I understand." She got to her feet and walked to Mew, hugging her tight. "Lubomir seems a gentleman."

The white-pelted femme smiled broadly as she sat down next to her aunt and embraced her as the other spoke. It had been too long since she'd seen her aunt, and it had also been an odd coincidence that they had run into each other just as she'd been thinking about the dark female. A blush rose to her pale cheeks as the aunt described her mate as a gentleman. He was a gentleman, when he was around anyway. Still her shy smile was not - and could not - be stopped, and her eyes shot to the ground for a second before returning to her aunt's. Her left hand fidgeted with a straw of grass on the ground.

........"Yes, he is.. and very handsome, too."

........Again she blushed and lowered her gaze to the ground. Oh, she was a fool in love. And since when could she not speak naturally to her own aunt about this, a grown female as she was? Perhaps because she'd been robbed of such feelings until the past half year, and now she didn't know exactly how to handle it. Not even now, when they'd been mates for a considerable amount of time. And boy did her aunt know how to keep herself updated! Eager to change the subject, her left hand let the grass strand be and rested in her lap as she spoke.

........"What about you? Where have you been? Anywhere exciting?"

........The smile on her face was open and sincere. She would always have time for her auntie.

Now it's finished. Big Grin But it's still rambly. *fails*

Let me show you the wonders of life

Mew blushed, then smiled, and Hanna's heart did loop-the-loops. She was pleased to see her niece so happy; so much had happened that could have thrown her into the pits of despair, perhaps permanently. Instead, she'd moved on, as much as one could at least, and had sought happiness instead of moping. Mew was a strong woman, and Hanna had no reason to believe she wouldn't do well with her mateship.

Hanna herself had not yet discovered the joy of finding one's other half but she trusted she would someday. As Mew played with the grass and blushed again, Hanna wondered if perhaps she was embarrassed to be speaking of such intimate matters with the aunt that had not been there as much as she should have, and sure enough, the white lady changed subjects, asking Hanna what she'd been up to.

"Aside from meeting Lubomir some months ago and embarrassing myself by cursing a blue streak within earshot of him, I've been wandering alot. Since Dahlia took over the land around my cabin over toward the north part of Ethereal Eclipse, I'd been looking for a place to move to."

She smiled warmly, to indicate that it wasn't a worry, then continued on, "But it all came to a head when I ran into Haku after chasing a strange male into Dahlia, because I'd startled him. I was only trying to protect him and remove him from the territory, but I didn't get a chance to explain that to Haku. I got these for my troubles, and I haven't seen the other male since." Hanna indicated the triple slashes across her snout and sighed.

........
........
Her blushes and embarrassment calmed as her aunt began to talk of her late doings, and she giggled at her tale of running into Lubomir, picturing the absurd situation. She didn't really think her auntie was one to swear much, she'd never heard her do so anyways, and thus the whole picture seemed out of place, and quite entertaining. She thought that it was sweet of Lubomir to mention their mateship when he met her aunt, even if he knew of their relation or not. She was proud to be his mate, and wen he mentioned her randomly to those that were strangers to him, it made her even prouder. It was as if a piece of proof that he valued their connection. Her hand still played with the strands of grass on the ground, but now more as something for her fingers to do while she listened to her aunt. She liked having her fingers doing something.

........When Hanna told of her encounter with Haku, Mew's face turned into a frown. She'd noticed Haku's growing hostility lately, and though their contact had always been sporadic, it had gone longer than usual since their last meeting up. She hadn't been sure whether it bothered her or not, since she'd figured the two pups took some time off of his hands as well, but now that he had been hostile to his own aunt, she felt that worry blossom. Haku Soul did not know nor care about the amount of consideration for himself that could be found in his sister's heart, but neither Mew or his aunt knew that. It was strange behavior for the male Mew knew Haku to be, and her eyebrows furrowed in thought before she spoke, her voice hesitant.

........"Who was this male? Was he an enemy of our pack?"

........Mew searched for a reason why Haku had scarred their aunt. If the male had been someone who had a history with their pack, and was unwanted, it would perhaps make sense, but otherwise it would not. She was afraid, perhaps, of what it could mean if the male had been someone unknown to Haku, and what that brought her as a sister and packmate. An ill brother? She hoped she was worrying needlessly.

This post seems so long and it really isn't. For reference... Salty Noses & Chasing Trouble

Let me show you the wonders of life

The woman started her tale in perfect fairy tale fashion. "It happened like this..." Hanna began relating the story of how she'd found Hiei on the shores of Whisper Beach. He was alright, though his nose was clogged with the salt of the sea from which he'd apparently emerged, but he was rather terse. She explained how he refused to give his name, and barely acknowledged that she gave him his, and how the first thing he really worried about was whether or not he was on a pack's turf.

"I assured him he wasn't, that Dahlia was some distance away, and then asked if he was having problems, which he told me. And then he started circling me, like he was going to strike. I kept still, just watching him. Unlike usual, I was in my wolf form; he was taller than me, so I changed into secui and then offered to help." He'd scoffed at that, Hanna remembered, wondering how she intended to help with paws. He didn't seem to notice that she'd gained size and bulk.

"He finally stopped going around me, and, thinking that he was a shifter, too, and just hadn't noticed, I sidled up next to him and around him, close enough to touch, all the while shifting all the way to two legs, crawling in the sand, and scratched the fur behind his ears. He freaked out." She'd done everything she could think of to show him she meant no harm, but all the same Hiei had ranted about there being werewolves and ran off, of course straight into Dahlian land.

"I didn't want him to get hurt just because I scared him, so I chased after him. I caught up with him soon enough and to my surprise, he started following me south toward my cabin. I hoped that we wouldn't meet anyone who might take great offense since I'd been helping with medical problems, but..." Instead, Haku had found them, had attacked Hanna, and threatened the two of them, eventually chasing them from the borders. Hanna had had to wait for Lubomir to happen by and escort her back to her cabin, to gather her belongings, and she doubted he'd told that to anyone.

"Since then, this is as close as I've been to the territory. And probably will be the closest I'll be for awhile." Except the tattoo...

........
........
Mew listened to her aunt's tale with a grave face, nodding every now and then to signalize that she paid attention and such. These movements were not conscious, but her body language acting on its own accord. She sad still, like a schoolgirl on the grass, hands folded in her lap. She was not happy to see this happening to her aunt, and she could not understand Haku's actions. Either way, the tale told her nothing new on her brother, nothing of his behavior, and so she could not justify or find the reason behind his actions either. It was annoying, in a way, but she would not voice it to Hanna, nor inquire further. It didn't suit her to be curious. And besides, Hanna had probably told the parts she wanted to tell, and if there was something she left out then it was probably for a reason. Mew did not want to impose, but that didn't mean that her brother's actions ceased to be a mystery.

........Sighing with disappointment, the ivory woman's face mirrored that feeling. It was true that she had not known that her aunt resided close by her own packlands, but now that she was back she was sad to discover that she was forced to live elsewhere. And for reasons unknown. Had her relationship with her brother been stronger she would have demanded he apologize, but she could and would not. He was Lilium, and she was far below that, having been stripped of her place in the council as well. Her green eyes sought out her aunt's as she spoke, face in apologetic folds.

........"So.. what will you do now? Live somewhere else? I want to know so I can visit you, since you can't come to our territory."

........She sincerely hoped that she would not leave completely. Too many of her close relatives were scattered everywhere, and so many in places unknown. Melisande, Colibri..., hell, she'd never even met her own father. No, Hanna had to stay, she didn't want to wave goodbye to another part of her heart.

OOC: I'm going to forego a table and just do this. it'll be short, but that's okay. Big Grin We'll just wrap this up.

IC:

Mew looked so sad after hearing Hanna's recent happenings. The woman didn't like seeing that expression on her niece's face. Like any older adult family member, she only wanted happiness for her Mew. Despite that she'd barely been a good aunt, let alone a mother figure for the white woman, she felt a strong motherly feeling for her. Hanna would not leave her. As Hanna was Mew's last relative besides Haku, so was Mew Hanna's (at least as far as she knew). The dark femme didn't know where her sister had gone any more than Mew did, which saddened Hanna.

Of course I'm not leaving permanently, dear. No, I'm traveling south. How far south, I'm not sure, but it'll be past Halifax. But it won't be outside the boundaries of Souls. Perhaps the tribe down there? She'd not heard of the name of the pack, but that was her plan. She'd met Catherine and thought she'd see if she could find her again.

Sure! I'm going to ninja-start a thread in AW with Mew coming to talk to Hanna if that's allright, and we can maintain this thread as long as we can be bothered, or something?

........
........
A wave of relief washed ove rher as Hanna proclaimed wanting to settle with the tribe in the south. She knew nothing about them, but that could mean two things; either they had done nothing wrong, or they were avoiding everyone else on purpose. But, she knew through the grapevine that others had been in contact with the leader down there, and that was hardly the tactic of one trying to avoid attention. So, she had concluded that they were either neutral, or friendly, unlike their neighbors to the north. Smiling, she nodded at her aunt, happy to learn that she had already found a place she considered making a home.

........"Not too far away then, auntie, I'm glad. Maybe I can come visit you when you're settled in?"

........If the tribe was friendly as she suspected, her aunt would have no trouble gaining admittance to their ranks. She was a skilled medic and a highly intelligent female, one who collected all sorts of information and knew how to use it. Ever since childhood Mew had been interested and amazed at this female's seemingly endless storage of skills and knowledge. She was an addition to any pack, that much was certain.

OOC: Slightly rambly. If you want to post once more, we can close this up.

IC:

The news that Hanna was not moving very far seemed to bring Mew's spirits up and the aunt smiled at her neice. "No, it's not very far at all. Maybe a day or so if you took your time about it. And I'd love to have a visit from you, Lubomir, anyone who knows me. I probably won't know many of my packmates at first, after all."

She didn't speak this as a play for sympathy, just as a statement of fact. But Hanna didn't intend this to be the case for long. She wanted to know about everyone and build that rapport with them. In Dahlia, she'd been related in some way to a fair few of the members, and despite that, never felt much of a bond, though perhaps that was her fault. Hanna's hope was that she'd find that family connection in the tribe.

Fade-to-black?

........
........
She nodded, but with a smile. It would be good to get out of the Dahlian lands, maybe, and bring Lubomir along? She liked going places if he was with her, but she seldomly left the packlands on her own. Still, there was an amount of pride in her that he was her mate, and she enjoyed 'showing him off'. Actually, now that that crisis was over, she in fact found it quite amusing that her slutty cousin, Firefly, had even wanted him. It made her feel somewhat privileged to be with him; this point of interest to others.

........"That sounds like a good plan, Hanna. i'll look forward to it! And Haku can't touch you if you're outside of Dahlia borders, so I guess you could call for me if you want, as long as you're outside."

........It was truly sad that her brother had shut her away from the pack that seemed to harbor one of the largest collections of Sadiras. It was strange that their own aunt was not welcome to set foot within the borders. Still, she did not question her brother, and he had not been the same after the split with Firefly, anyway. Perhaps he had really loved her, sad as that may be. Mew's gaze remained unfaltering on the face of her aunt, green eyes studying her intently. She truly was glad that the dark femme was back - she brought with her a piece of Mew's childhood that she had not known that she missed, but she had. And now, that piece was joined with herself, and it felt like coming home.
