Maybe, since the weather is rainy, they are in Koender Windmill?
300+

The girl had been exploring the lands as she usually did, enjoying life and the little pleasures that filled her day. But today the sky was dark, and the bugs did not come out to play with her. Having wandered away from her family members, the little girl found herself in the middle of an open field, the tall grasses towering over her and obscuring her view. With a little squeak, the creamy girl jumped up, finding that there was a blue lake nearby. As her body landed upon the earth, lightning flashed and thunder cracked loudly through the air, clapping with a frightening ferocity. The little ears flattened against her head as her eyes grew round. For a moment, the girl was completely motionless, caught between that instinct to flee or fight. And then, suddenly she was running and the rain was falling. She whimpered softly as she tore down through the grass, choosing no place in particular but only wanting to get away.

She practically bumped into the large, stone mass that stood in her way. It loomed ominously over her, and she pulled back, her dual coloured eyes staring up at it. It was familiar, like the mansion—maybe she could get inside. And so she bounded away, running about the base of the building until she found an opening and squeezed in. It was dark inside, and musty and dusty, but it was dry and quiet. The sound of the rain grew dull and distant as a soft whimper escaped the girl. Slowly she looked around, walking slowly and shaking her fur as she went. Suddenly, she walked by something warm, and she stopped to explore, her curiosity never failing her.

"Zio Ehno!" The pup exclaimed excitedly, pouncing playfully upon the sleeping adult. She was so glad to find him. Affectionately the girl tugged on his ear, those sharp, puppy teeth chomping down upon the soft cartilage. Her little head shook from side to side with playful growls before she released it, pressing her face up against Ehno’s, her little black nose brushing up against his muzzle. The green and blue eyes glittered excitedly as the water dripped from her. Her excitement at having found this strange place and at having found her Uncle made her forget that she was afraid and that she was shivering. "Svegliarsi!" Thunder clapped outside again, so near that the entire windmill shook. With a yip of fear, the girl dove into her uncle, burrowing herself into the place between his chest and neck, her tail tucked between her legs as she shut her eyes against the terrifying sound.

That works! Big Grin And thanks for starting this! 500+

Ehno’s thirst for adventure had been sated with his days-long visit to Halifax. He had arrived back in Crimson Dreams just days prior and already he had fallen into his old routine. But even after his special trip, exploration remained a part of his routine, even if it was only a quick walk around the pack territory. In the morning he set out, slipping into that familiar lupine form of his for the first time since he got into a tussle with that hybrid intruder. His wounds had all healed by now. Even the ugly gash that had marred his shoulder had closed up the other day, leaving a new pink scar in its place. The chocolate hued male hated seeing it there and hoped that in time it would fade, but he knew there was no sense in worrying about it. Instead he chose to be glad that he could freely shift once again without the fear of agitating his wounds.

The skies loomed angry and gray above him, but he paid them no mind. The rain seemed to have a consistent pattern the last few days. The mornings were calm despite the looming clouds and the downpours seemed reluctant to start before late afternoon. He assumed today’s weather would follow much the same pattern. The Chief Sergeant spent the better part of his morning enjoying the sights and sounds at the lake before his restless feet took him westward, toward the windmill. He observed the stone structure numerous times before, but he had never taken the time to examine it. He wormed his way into the old windmill, amber eyes wide as they took in the sights of the slightly darkened interior. The Marino man laid himself down on the ground, content to simply observe the structure from within for the time being. He made the mistake of laying his head down on his paws, which led him to doze off and fall into an hour’s worth of dreamless sleep.

That hour rushed by quickly; as a nearby noise woke him up, he hardly began to realize that he had even fallen asleep in the first place. Before he could figure out what had stirred him, he felt something pounce on him and assault his ear. He was jarred fully awake then, and with his senses no longer clouded by sleep he easily recognized his attacker as his cream-coloured niece. Ehno laughed at her playful maneuver, as it reminded him so much of her mother. As pups, Savina would often do the same thing to him. "Sono sveglio, sono sveglio," he said with a laugh. The clouds then rumbled ominously outside, sending the pup scurrying for shelter against his chest. He realized that her fur was wet, and only then did he notice pounding of the rain outside. She must have been outside when the storm began. He nuzzled his niece reassuringly. "Non preoccuparsi di quel tuono. È appena le nuvole chiedendo l'attenzione." He looked down at Amata, hoping to calm her fears with his words and his smile.

A soft whimper escaped from the little pup, but she was glad that her Uncle Ehno was awake. With here eyes shut, she burrowed deeply for protection from the scary sounds outside. Her body shivered slightly as she waited for the next clap of thunder to shake the world with its loud voice. "Ma perché devono urlare ed essere matto?" Her little voice was partially muffled by his fur, but she didn’t try to fix that. Right now, she was cold and he was warm. And it felt safer there against the larger adult wolf. For a moment, the girl was brave enough to look up at him, her eyes wide and scared. But his smile was reassuring—that meant that everything was okay. She tried to smile back at the adult, but her attempt was faltering. The clouds weren’t being very nice at all—she didn’t want to give them her attention. But if she didn’t, what if they came down to eat her? Hopefully Uncle Ehno would be able to save her.

Lightning flashed, illuminating the dark place for a moment, but no thunder came. And then, after a long moment, a soft roll of thunder sounded, less angry for the distance. Amata pressed herself up against her Uncle, but she didn’t hide her face this time. "Vanno via?" she whispered in the dark, her breathing noisy with her elevated heart rate. She looked out the way she had come, listening the quieter, nicer rain. Then she looked up, a question in her eyes—there was always a question within the Sadira pup. "Che è questo luogo?" There was a quiet wonderment within the girl’s voice, as if she had stumbled upon a great secret. Of course, the windmill was in plain sight of all who lived within the pack, but for the little girl, it was like a magical castle. There was a flash of lightning. Looking around at the strange place, she asked again, "Che fa lei qui?" as if the same could not be asked of herself. She pressed up against him again when another roll of thunder sounded, but like the last time, it was far away.

The cream-coloured girl whimpered as she huddled closer to him. He hated to see the little one so afraid, but he knew that to calm her down he could only offer her warm words to let her know there was nothing to fear. She looked up at her uncle and asked him why the clouds were so angry. It was a good question. In truth he had no idea why the clouds made such noise during the storms. He simply accepted it as one of those great mysteries of nature and left it at that. But he knew a pup as curious as Amata wouldn’t be content with such an answer, so he did his best to explain it in any way the girl would find interesting. If he got to have a little fun by making a story out of it, all the better. He snuggled close to the shivering girl as he spoke. "Forse sembrano appena arrabbiato perché tutti nasconde quando provano di dividere la pioggia." Images of angry-faced rainclouds popped into his head.

Thunder sounded again in the distance, following shortly after its lightning companion. His niece still seemed shaken up by it, but less so than before. He nudged her affectionately with his muzzle in another show of reassurance. "Penso di sì," he murmured in response to her question. "Devono viaggiare molto lontano in modo che possono dividere la pioggia con tutti." The pup’s attention seemed to dart to other questions floating within her thoughts and she offered up two more for him to answer. His gaze wandered about the windmill, briefly examining the strange structure by flash of lightning. The male didn’t know what the structure was when he first laid eyes upon it, so he took it upon himself to do a little research within the books in the manor. He discovered his answer within a photography book with the caption "Windmill” beneath pictures of several similar structures. "Questo luogo è chiamato un mulino a vento. Gli esseri umani l'hanno costruito, appena ama tanto tempo fa il castello." Ehno still wasn’t exactly sure what the structure was for, but he hoped to discover the answer somewhere inside. "Ho deciso di avere una piccola avventura qui dentro, ma ho finito su addormentando." He laughed at his silly behavior.

Huddling close to her uncle, her body was twisted in a way that seemed uncomfortable. But she seemed to fit into that strange shape with ease, and it didn’t seem to bother her. The young pup was only glad that she was not alone here and that she could be save with Uncle Ehno. He seemed to know why the sky wanted to be scary when it was dark like it was outside, but the reasoning of the clouds seemed to not make sense to her. The round eyes turned to look at the way she had come, a little frown on her face as she gave a little pout. "Ma sono paurosi!" she exclaimed with an unhappy and nervous mewl. She was silent for a moment as if contemplating something of great significance. She shifted into a more comfortable position, laying down and leaning against her uncle’s much larger form. "Non amo la pioggia, ma il loro urlare." Her little head rested for a moment upon the adult’s leg. "Sono solitari?" That would make her sad that she had said mean things if they were lonely. Sometimes she was mad when no one wanted to play with her at a particular moment. Maybe the angry clouds were the same.

Her uncle was warm, so she just lay there, her wide eyes looking around the dark building. Maybe, if she had been alone, this dark place would have been scary. But with her uncle, this place was only mysterious. "Un mulino a vento?" the little girl repeated, flipping over so that she was laying on her back, those little paws dangling up in the air. With her head still resting on his leg, Amata smiled up at him. "Costruiscono delle cose buffe!" She giggled noisily, stopping short only when there was another thunder of protest. She turned her head for a moment as if expecting the thunder and the clouds to stomp in through the door. When there was nothing, she turned back to her Uncle Ehno, who was telling her something. She gave a small giggle again, a bubbly sound, as her tail wagged with sweeping strokes on the floor. "Lei ha avuto un buono sogno, Zio Ehno?" There was excitement in her voice. Sometimes her dreams were fun. But sometimes they were bad, too.

The young girl wiggled about with the overflowing energy that pups always seemed to have. She loudly proclaimed her dislike of the noisy clouds, and while a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth at her outburst, he couldn’t help but agree with her. Ehno had become accustomed to the almost constant rainfall in these lands, so the rain hardly seemed to bother him much anymore. The lightning and the thunder he could do without, simply because of a dislike of the loud noises rather than the fear of them his young niece seemed to hold. The girl finally settled in front of him, resting her head upon his leg as she offered him another question. He thought about it for a moment before saying, "Forse sono appena un po'solitari." The clouds were always on the move, never staying in one place long enough to befriend the creatures on the earth below. Constant wandering was enough to make anyone at least a little lonely. He had a years worth of experience to back that up.

Amata’s attention drifted to the windmill for a moment and Ehno followed her gaze around the old place in equal curiosity. Here he was within the strange structure and he still had no idea what it could have possibly been for. Though he had to admit that was his own fault; falling asleep in here was hardly a way to have his questions answered. The cream-coloured girl flipped over and commented on the humans’ odd construction habits, bursting into a fit of giggles. The uncle couldn’t help but laugh along with her. "Loro sicuro ha fatto." The girl was then distracted, anxiously gazing through the darkness at another of the clouds’ loud cries. She soon recovered, though, laughing at her uncle’s folly. He smiled and shook his head. "No, nessuni sogni per me questo tempo. Forse avrò un realmente buono un prossimo tempo."

The girl grew a little sad when her uncle replied. She hadn’t been nice either, to say those things, had she? But he was mean first, she wanted to say. And yet, she didn’t like that the clouds were lonely. "Non hanno di amici?" Her voice was quieter and calmer, almost contemplative. Everyone had to have friends, right? Didn’t the clouds have anyone to play with? A little frown came to her creamy muzzle and she gnawed gently on her uncle’s arm before talking again. "Giocherei, ma sono così lontani!" She liked to play anyway, so if the clouds would play nicely, then she could play with them too. But they were so far away, so how could she play with them?

Amata smiled brightly as Uncle Ehno laughed with her. When other people laughed, she couldn’t help but laugh with them because she liked to be happy. Having lain upon her back, the little girl flipped over again, this time so that her legs were folded neatly against her belly and her uncle’s chest, her head turned in that awkward way that only children could manage as she continued to stare out into the dark place that was called a ‘windmill’. Of course, it was not long before another question emerged from her endless curiosity. "Ha fatto vivono in un mulino a vento anche?" As she breathed in, a drip of water that had slid to the edge of her black nose followed her intake of air. She sneezed with a loud squeak and buried her nose into her uncle’s fur, which made it feel better. Looking up she asked, "Lei costruisce delle cose buffe anche, Zio Ehno? " Her tail wagged , brushing the wet dust from the floor.

When the adult confessed that he had not dreamt, her head cocked to the side. "Ciò è giusto," the young pup assured him. It was always surprising how little adults remembered their dreams when the pups could remember them all. The little tail thumped on the ground—or maybe it was more of a soggy splat. "Lei dovrebbe chiedere il Fabbricante di Sogno per un!" The Dream Maker was sure to give Uncle Ehno a dream—he was nice and deserved one. Dreams were very fun, the Sadira pup thought, and they made naps and sleeping fun too. "Che lei chiederebbe?" In terms of Dreams, that was.

"Hanno solo l'un l'altro, penso." The clouds couldn’t be entirely lonely if hey had each other up there. He smiled at the girl’s innocent response. "Credo che sarebbero felici anche se lei giusto ha provato di giocare con loro." The male wondered then just how one would go about playing with the clouds. Perhaps going out and playing in the rain was the answer?

The girl’s curiosity was as endless as ever. Her first question prompted him to glance around the windmill once more. Nothing he could see indicated that her question was true. "Non penso che abbiano fatto. Ciò è che hanno fatto il castello per." She sneezed after that, but it did little to falter her string of questions. His warm laughter filled the room again. "Indovino faccio." He looked down at Amata, his smile wide. "Ma le cose edilizie buffe è molto divertenti." It had surprised him at first just how much he enjoyed his woodworking hobby. Much of his free time was now devoted to it, and he even searched for ways to make it an official pack duty. He was the pack’s carpenter now, after all. Being able to help the pack with a task that he found pleasure in filled him with so much joy.

The pup snuggled up beside him spoke once more of dreams, excitedly proclaiming that he should ask the Dream Maker for one next time. The idea of a Dream Maker was such a simple and pleasant one that the pup in him wanted to believe that it was a true concept. Ehno tilted his head to the side for the moment as he pondered, a serious look of contemplation appearing on his features. Abruptly an idea came to mind, causing him to grin. "Forse chiederò di giocare con le nuvole il prossimo tempo." What a wonderful dream that would be, frolicking through the skies along with the rain-bearers.

The clouds only had themselves? "Come una famiglia?" Their loneliness didn’t seem so bad now. For a long while, Amata had only played with her family too. Sometimes they would get visited by other packmembers, but they were family too. Only recently had the pup played with other pups from other packs. And so she thought that the clouds should also play with a friend every once in a while. Her tail wagged a little when her uncle continued, because she thought that it might be fun to try to play with the clouds. Sometimes they just looked so soft and fluffy when they were just floating there in the blueness. She’d have to figure it out one day.

The girl nodded solemnly to herself, as if she too were contemplating a great matter. The mansion was a good place to live, and this place definitely did not look like the mansion. But why else would you build something like this? The girl didn’t know. So, naturally, she turned to her uncle. "Che hanno usato questo luogo per -- che è un mulino a vento?" The creamy pup realized that she didn’t even know what a windmill was! How silly of her, and she giggled at her silliness. If she knew what a windmill was, maybe she could know what this building was for. She felt very smart for having reasoned that out all by herself. She wouldn’t be able to understand why the humans built, though. But her uncle said that it was very fun. She smiled up at him and asked, "Realmente? Lei può mostrarmi un giorno?" She wanted to know what made it fun too, and she wanted to have fun. Spending time with her uncle was fun anyway. Like her mamma and dadda, he seemed to know the answers to all of her questions.

For a moment, the adult was silent—maybe he was thinking. She liked to think too, or at least ask questions. And suddenly it seemed that her uncle knew. The little girl twitched in response. She was excited to hear for what her uncle would ask the Dream Maker. And his answer was delightful! The little girl barked up at him. "Ciò è una buona idea, Zio Ehno!" Why hadn’t she thought of that too. That was the best idea that she’d heard all day! Her little nose nuzzled against her uncle’s chest affectionately. He was the best for thinking of that nice thing! She wished that she could think of nice things to do, too. "Chiederò il Fabbricante di Sogno per ciò anche—poi le nuvole non saranno solitario e possono avere degli amici anche." Her uncle had found the answer. That was how they could play with the clouds.

Ehno nodded. "Sì, giusto come una famiglia." In that way, the clouds reminded him of Crimson Dreams. The whole pack was like one big family. Maybe those angry, thunderous clouds weren’t so lonely after all. Perhaps they just longed to make new friends. Or simply make a lot of noise.

The girl then asked a question that he held no answer for—the very question he had come here himself to answer. Amber gaze drifted about the room for a moment, as if it could easily find the answer the wolves sought. When no answer jumped out at him, Ehno returned his attention to his niece. "Non sono realmente sicuro che l'hanno costruito per. Per prendere il vento, forse, ma non so perché vorrebbero a." It was an assumption he made from the sight of the old windmill’s blades trying to spin on windy days. "Sono sicuro che qualcosa può dirci qui dentro perché." He grinned and nodded once more as the pup asked about his own habits of building things. "Certo. La mostrerò quando lei ama. Lei può aiutarmi anche se lei vuole a. Come ciò sembra?" The chocolate hued male was always happy to share his tasks with any that showed interest. Amata was still too small to work on anything too major, but Ehno would be able to find something for her to help him with, if she so desired. He had done the same with Naniko’s children before they could shift.

His cream-coloured niece squirmed with excitement when he revealed his dream wish. He laughed, nuzzling her back just as affectionately. He was happy to hear that she would like to play with the clouds in dreams as well. "Possiamo giocare con le nuvole insieme poi. Penso che ciò amerebbero." One of those softer, far away rolls of thunder sounded a moment later, as if in agreement.

The little pup liked that idea. She liked that the clouds would have a family too, because it would only make sense that everyone would have a family: a mom and a dad cloud, with a lot of baby clouds, and then uncle and aunt clouds, and then grandpa and grandma clouds, and then maybe friend clouds too. "Ciò è piacevole," she said, her voice dreamy. It would be nice to float in the sky like that. Then she would be able to see the entire world, which, for the pup, consisted of Crimson Dreams and a few other places of ‘Souls. She wondered how big the sea was, and she wondered how long it would take to see everything. It must have been a long time, because she didn’t think that she had seen the same cloud twice! That was very exciting. There must be lots of clouds, she thought.

The blue and green eyes looked up expectantly at her Uncle Ehno as he looked about the dark room. When he finally answered and voiced his uncertainty, the girl decided to look around the room too. She wondered why they would want to catch the wind too, and so she tried to answer that question. "Forse gli esseri umani hanno voluto giocare con le nuvole anche, e forse ciò hanno pensato prendendo il vento li lascerebbe ciò fa." The creamy pup’s eyes turned back to her uncle, and she wondered if her thinking was good—it sounded good to her. She smiled at him, her tail wagging several times. Or maybe it was just silly. That made the girl laugh once. "Come che?" She wanted to know what could tell them. She was very curious now, and she wondered why the humans would want to catch the wind. It was strange already—nobody else tried to catch the wind. But humans were funny—she had already established that fact with her dadda when he was reading her the book about the baby dear and the human boy. Amata barked up at him suddenly. "Ciò sarebbe divertente, Zio Ehno!" she exclaimed, practically yelling in his ear. How fun it would be to spend time with her uncle and see what he would make.

Amata giggled softly when he nuzzled her back. "Penso di sì anche!" she said with a smile. Then she was bounding up, pulling on her Uncle Ehno’s ear again, making the same happy growling sound. "Possiamo giocare sotto la pioggia?" she said as she wagged her tail furiously. Letting go of his ear, she leaned with her two front paws against his shoulder, looking back into the amber eyes that were very different than her mamma’s eyes. She wondered if Uncle Ehno still liked to play in the rain and splash in the puddles—or maybe they could see a rainbow outside. She turned to look the way she had come, but at the same time she remembered that they could explore in here too.

Funky post is funky. >.< 500+

His thoughts hovered briefly over the nice family of clouds before contemplating whether the humans may have attempted to play with huge puffs of moisture. "Forse hanno fatto." He nodded in agreement. "Forse hanno pensato che se hanno preso il vento, potrebbero salire in volo con le nuvole." What else could they possibly want the wind for? They could try to use the wind to propel those giant planes of theirs, like the wrecked one he had examined months ago in the northern part of the pack territory. It seemed like an odd idea, but he couldn’t come up with any other explanation, as he had yet to determine just how that huge jet had managed to move through the air in the first place. It was another mystery to solve, just as the purpose of the windmill was. The mysteries needed to be solved one at a time though, so he focused on the one in front of him.

"Oh, non so," he said, glancing around once more. What could possibly give them the answer they were searching for? He focused on one of the old stone walls a few meters away from where they sat. Just past the corner of the wall the edge of an old and dusty mechanism could be spotted. Tilting his head in its direction, he said, "C'è forse del segreto laggiù per noi trovare." There were hidden passageways throughout the mansion, so it didn’t seem so far fetched to Ehno that they may have created something similar here in the windmill. He smirked, this thought further portraying the humans as a complicated species in his mind. They created such strange objects and buildings and they always seemed to have something to keep hidden away as a precious secret. It seemed like so much of a hassle, Ehno sometimes wondered why they would even bother. Though he did gain a slight understanding of their ways the more he tinkered around with carpentry. It was a fun, relaxing, and engrossing activity despite the work involved. In that way, he understood their behavior just a little bit. He smiled at his niece’s enthusiasm to help him. "Buono. Lo non vedo l'ora di, poi."

That endless puppy-energy seized her once more as she leapt up and took a hold of his ear again. He laughed and played along, a happy growl of his own rumbling in his chest. He swatted the girl lightly with one paw and stuck his tongue out in a playful manner. Ehno let his gaze drift over to the small entrance at her suggestion, studying the falling rain outside. It seemed that the worst of the storm had travelled off with the thunderous clouds, as the rainfall had slowed to a much calmer drizzle. He supposed there would be no harm in going out for a short time, at least. "Sicuro, potremmo giocare fuori se lei amerebbe." He was content to follow the young girl’s whim for now, whether that took him outside into the rain or farther into the rickety and dusty windmill.

The little girl laughed then, a bubbly sound that was full of happiness. She smiled a toothy grin at her Uncle Ehno, the small, darkening ears pressing back against her head and then moving forward again. "Ciò è sciocco!" she exclaimed through her laughing. "Solo gli uccelli e gli insetti ed i pipistrelli possono volare!" Humans sure were strange—why would they want to fly anyway? The creamy girl agreed that it must be fun to fly like a bird or like a butterfly, but she was content to be right on the ground where she was supposed to be. It was fun to run really fast and feel the grass tickly her tummy and her sides. She would be afraid, she decided, to fall down if she went too high, or maybe she would be alone—what if her mamma and dadda and Cambi and Got’dam and Uncle Ehno couldn’t come with her? She wouldn’t like that at all! At least the clouds did have their families, the small girl decided with a solemn nod.

Amata’s dual coloured eyes followed her Uncle’s gaze. With her smaller perspective, the girl didn’t see exactly what her uncle had seen. She stared at it for a long while, squinting in the musty half light, but she still didn’t see. Her eyes focused for a moment on the dust floating around in the light that was able to filter through the cracks in the walls. She thought that they were like tiny dragonflies and smiled. "Si..." the small voice murmured absently. She wondered if these tiny dragonflies were like the black ants on the pages of dadda’s books, and she wondered if they would tell her things too. Maybe that’s what Uncle Ehno was talking about. So the little pup listened very carefully, but she didn’t hear anything at all. Her thoughts were interrupted by her uncle’s next words, anyway, and she turned her eyes to look back at him. She smiled, her little tail wagging. Amata was glad that her Uncle would let her help.

She growled playfully back at the adult, squeaking as he swatted at her. She stuck her tongue back at him as she wagged her tail, placing her head on her paws as she stuck her rump in the air, growling playfully. But she practically bounded up when he said that they could play outside. "Si! Ciò amerei!" her high voice exclaimed. The creamy pup was already turning and bounding away the way she had come. "Venire su, Zio Ehno!" she called looking back. The eyes caught sight of a strange shape in the far backdrop—the old dusty mechanism that her Uncle Ehno must have seen. She stopped abruptly, staring at that distant thin with her head cocked to the side. "Il pozzo...forse possiamo guardare qui dentro anche...." Turning her body, the little girl took several steps towards her uncle and towards that strange thing, but she couldn’t figure out what it was. "Che ciò è?"

Sorry for the delay!! D: 500+

He laughed along with his niece, amused by her logic. Perhaps he found it so amusing because until a few months back, he had believed the same thing. Even though he had read about the humans’ invention of soaring planes, he believed it to be some tall tale until he had actually set his sights on one of them. The crashed jet was so similar to those pictures he had seen that he was forced to believe it to be true. The damage it had sustained could only have occurred if the vehicle had fallen from a great height. Despite discovering the truth, he still had no idea how they managed to actually make it fly. The idea that they could have used the wind was as far-fetched as any explanation he could possibly come up with. "Lei mi crederebbe se le ho detto gli esseri umani ha trovato che una maniera per volare con gli uccelli e con gli insetti e con i pipistrelli?"

He watched with amusement as the girl studied something in the darker parts of the windmill before she launched into a playful puppy stance. Soon after she darted excitedly over to the entrance both had used. "Vengo, vengo," he called as he stood and stretched. He had caught up to the excited puppy when she looked past him in the direction of that strange mechanism. He couldn’t help but smile at how her attention seemed to constantly flutter about. "Possiamo fare ciò che mai lei vuole." He followed her gaze back to the mechanism. "Diamo un'occhiata e la scoperta, fa fuori noi?" With that, he walked toward the strange object, beckoning her to follow with a nod of his head.

Ehno peered through the half-light around them, trying to determine exactly what the old thing was. The biggest part of it was a rectangular metal box that would have come up to his waist had he been in optime form. Above this box was a series of gears and rods that reached up to the ceiling, probably going up to a higher floor. Beside it was an empty bin made out of the same sheet of metal. What captured his attention was a lever set in the right side of the metal box. It was close enough to the ground that he could pull it down even in his four-legged form. He reared up onto his hind legs and used his front ones to push down on the old lever, but it let out a shrill creak of protest. Surprised at the sound, he released the lever and cringed slightly when it snapped back into place with a dull thud. He laughed nervously and looked over to Amata. "Forse non dovremmo toccarlo." Who knew what would happen if he pulled the old lever down. The structure was old, so there was a chance that it wouldn’t even work at all. There was also the chance that it would cause something to collapse, as the building was weighed down heavily by time. He didn’t want to do anything dangerous with the little one around.

Her Uncle Ehno’s laugh made her laugh even more. The sound was much deeper than her own, and it was also a warm friendly sound that Amata liked very much. She bumped her head against him in a loving manner as her laughter faded away into a cheerful silence. The creamy pup smiled up at him. But she grew concerned with his reply to her words. "Che?" She lilted her head as her smile faltered, and she stared up at him with an intense concentration. What was he talking about? "Hanno fatto? Come?" Her voice was quiet now, as if this knowledge was some sort of great and exciting secret. But she wanted to know how the humans flew. The idea itself seemed improbable and very silly. Amata didn’t think that she could believe it, but Uncle Ehno wouldn’t lie to her, would he? So it must be true.... How strange!

The light hued puppy stood there, staring out into the dark world outside that still sprinkled water on the world. She watched, mesmerized by the sparkly glitter rain that fell, although it was only the light moving through each drop of water. Her uncle came just as his words said that he would, and she turned her gaze to look up at him. Whatever I want? The pup smiled up at him—suddenly the possibilities seemed endless. They could do anything together because Uncle Ehno had said that they could. And she wanted now to go and see the thing that was very far away inside the windmill. And he agreed, just like he said. "Sì, andiamo, Zio Ehno!" she said with excitement bubbling from her words. She ran after him, his slow walking carrying him much farther than her stubby legs. Her tail waved happily behind her as she slowed to a quick trot. And she pranced beside him as if they ventured into some magical place.

The thing looked like a box with a lot of funny circles and lines—it was very strange. But as she continued to move near to it, the funny circles and lines disappeared with the height of the box. She paused within a nose length from the box, her head arched back so that she could see the high edge of the strange contraption. "Non posso vedere, Zio Ehno!" she gave a little pout, rising up on her hind legs and leaning her fore paws upon the strange thing. Amata turned to look as her Uncle Ehno did the same. He pulled on summing with his mouth, and a sudden noise screamed and screeched in the silence. She gave a startled yelp and pushed off of the box, running to find cover behind her Uncle, who also stepped down. Having bumped into his hind leg, she sat on her rump, looking up at him and giving a small giggle. Sometimes being scared was fun too. But she nooded. "Si.... Ciò era pauroso!" she agreed. The blue and green eyes turned to consider the strange box with the funny circle and lines that she could partially see now. She followed a funny line up to the ceiling. "Che è di sopra?" she asked curiosily. But then she paused.

"O forse dovremmo giocare appena fuori...." she suggested instead. She was a bit nervous now by the scary noise that the windmill made. It was like the thunder, but it seemed less friendly. Maybe the windmill didn’t like that they were there. It would be safer outside, anyway.

Sorry if this is reply is funky. I got distracted like ten times while I wrote this because of a spider in my room. >.>;; 500+

A silent wonder came over the pup, prompting her to ask quick questions filled with genuine curiosity. Ehno couldn’t help but smile as he answered the girl. "Si, hanno fatto delle macchine i grandi aeroplani chiamati che ha occupato loro nel cielo. C'è anche un vecchio rotto un nelle nostre terre di pacco." He nodded for emphasis. "Gli aerei sono tutte le misure diverse, ma l'un è qui abbastanza grande per andare tutti bene dall'interno di Sogni Cremisi di esso." The thing was huge and it was easy enough to spot it from a distance. It was rather torn up and filled with scattered and broken boxes of various supplies, but he knew if he could empty it out he would be able to see just how vast the space inside the jet was. Some silly part of him really did want to see the whole pack pile into the metal contraption. The thought left an amusing picture in his mind.

The young girl curiously examined the strange machine as he did, leaping away with sudden yelp at the noise her uncle had caused. Ehno looked over at her when she bumped into his leg, an apologetic smile on his face. He leaned down and gave her a caring nuzzle. "Sono spiacente. Non ho significato per spaventarla." He looked back up at the old machine, gaze following the gears and rods up to the ceiling. The man stared at the ceiling there for a moment as if doing so would let him see what was on the upper floor. After a moment he turned back to his curious niece. "Penso ci sono più cose vecchie e paurose lassù," he offered as explanation. It only made sense that there would be more of these human gadgets lying around upstairs, collecting dust. He was curious to see what they might be and he wondered if maybe something upstairs would allow the two wolves a better insight to what the windmill really had been for. Ehno chose to leave the exploration of the upper floors for another day; the screeching of this old device made him weary. The second floor might not be as stable as this one and the chocolate hued male did not want to put the young pup in any danger.

He was glad when Amata suggested that they could still go out and play in the rain. Ehno found himself nodding in agreement. "Giusto, giusto. Dovremmo partire probabilmente vecchio Sig. Mulino a vento solo ora, comunque." He wandered back over to the exit, peeking quickly at the steadying rain before his amber gaze darted back to his niece. Now that he was up and darting about, an excited energy was beginning to bubble up within him, urging him to play. He smiled at the cream-coloured girl and motioned to the outside with a quick tilt of his head. "Andiamo vede che quelle nuvole sono all'altezza di." Ehno waited for Amata to join him, that playful energy causing his tail to wag behind him excitedly.
