Erin -finally- replies so we can -finally- close this up XD

Despite how still the pups were in his arms, he could not help but feel the extreme importance of what he was doing. He really had no idea how long it was customary before the father handled the new lives, but he had a feeling that it was not usually so soon after their birth. He knew how precious the small bundles in his arms were and he knew this would be the most careful and calculated short walk of his life. Every time he took a step the coyote would make sure that he was stepping somewhere safe and even. He would focus on his balance and making sure that the pups were kept still and safe. Onus waited pateintly for Cwmfen to gather her strength and collect what she wanted from this area. It was only as she sniffed and picked up his scarf that he realized that it was the fabric that had been used to clean Honor. It didn't matter much, he had other scarves, he would not need that one back. She picked up his hat as well, and he almost said that she didn't need to, but he stopped himself. She knew her limits and he knew that she would not push herself. At least not right now.

Slowly they walked side-by-side, Onus' gaze focused on the ground in front of them and his arms holding the twins gently yet securely. It was a little peculiar, being with her when their bodies were so different, but it did not bother the male. He understood that she had a comfort in that more natural form, just as his comfort was in the bipedal form. Besides, his mind did not trouble itself with such thoughts for more than a moment or two. He was far too focused on safely delivering their children to the den. Their children. That sounded so weird in his mind. A strange echo filling the space between his ears. Strange as it was though, it was much better than the alternative. The coyote was still nervous about this new facet to his life, but not it was more worrying for the sake of the children. Worrying about making sure he gave them the kind of life and knowledge that the deserved to have. He felt her tail brush against his leg and he glanced down at her briefly, smiling. It felt more natural now, showing one another affection.

They reached the oak tree where her den lay and a quiet sigh moved past his lips. There had been no slip-ups or accidents on his part. Dark eyes watched as she placed his hat on the roots of the tree and then placed his soiled scarf near the mouth of her dwelling. Then she turned and spoke and he nodded his head, carefully bringing the pups to her and setting the coat-nest down on the ground near the den. The man could hear the weariness in his lover's voice and hope that she would be able to get sufficient rest once she was settled inside her den. His eyes were on the two small bodies when she asked him a question and he looked up to her. "It scares me...to know how fragile they are. To know how easily they can be harmed. But...it feels good as well." And it did. There was an innate sense of satisfaction being so close to something you had helped create. Onus leaned forward and planted another kiss on the top of her head. "Rest well. I'll stay up in the tree and watch over you." He would sit there until she had disappeared inside with the pups, then he would take his place of vigilance.
