Mason nodded with such exuberance that his ears flapped against his head. He bit his tongue, realizing he must be making himself look young and immature and incapable of helping to provide for the clan this way, and so he stopped very suddenly, his eyes wide on Kaena's face to look for signs of censure. He guessed he needn't have worried, but all of this had just happened. All things good things had happened at an escalated rate, and he was afraid to let them slip through his fingers.

The sandy colored boy was looking forward to getting out of the rain. He followed dutifully behind the two hybrids and continued to hop between their foot tracks, quite convinced that he hadn't yet been found out. He looked behind him and was pleased to note that there was hardly a trace of his presence trailing behind them. He had slipped up just a little a few feet back, tripping and scrambling to divide his steps between Gabriel and Kaena evenly and his rush had left a flurry of marks on the ground, but other than that one mishap, he was very pleased.

Mason regarded Kaena again, thinking of the fish she had described for him. Mason had stayed away from large bodies of water for the most part during his time alone, as he had been able to drink from puddles during the last rainy month. He had no real concept of water bound creatures. He had spied glimmers beneath water, but had not associated them with scaly life. "I will bite the fishings for you, Kaena," Mason said with confidence.
