Shadow of Someone You Use to Know

OOC:

Leaving AniWaya lands behind had been easy, far too easy. Figuring out what to do with himself in the days that followed had not been. The red hued husky had spent time lingering in Halifax, where he had once stayed before ever being accepted to AniWaya so long ago. Now again he stayed in his old haunts, listlessly spending his time. Hours on end would be spent staring at the wall, and then a few more hours after that making detailed lists of all the ways he had failed. Dawali had seemed concerned days ago, when he had come and gone like the ghost he already was, but Leland was not concerned. This was how it should be. This was what happened when you screwed up.

Leland knew that he wouldn’t stay in Halifax forever, but he had little else to go, or perhaps too many places to go. Leroy he had heard was in the newest pack, a name he couldn’t think of, Slay still resided in Dahlia de Mai and Lysander in Phoenix Valley. In fact, he had verified the presence of all three males several times over the past two weeks, leaving Halifax briefly to stop just short of the borders of the packs, take a survey of the scents and turn around to come back to the empty home he stayed in. Slay, perhaps like Dawali, was the only one he really planned on seeing, Leroy and Lysander got along with out him so far and he doubted much they would be overjoyed at his return. So when, in one of his habitual walks up to the border, he kept going forward he surprised himself.

Still he was thin, and his fur matted and in clumps. Although his paw pads had healed from the abuse he about put them through, none stop walking until they wore too thin and tore, they looked no better. Infection had set in and amid the dried blood and bruises pockets of fluid built of, and Leland scarcely noticed them anymore. Just as he scarcely noticed the hunger in his belly or the constant shiver his body seemed to be fighting. He didn’t notice much at all as he sat down, as he had down in AniWaya, waiting for someone to find him. Waiting, he knew for Leroy, although he worked on automatic. When the male did show, he wouldn’t really have anything to say.

what leland don't know is his niece will look like him ;-;

Leroy had been rather busy even if it went by unnoticed to others. Meal had left the pack with some of the others that had joined before, an some had returned back to the borders of Cour des Miracles. Firefly was a good sight to see back home, they hadn't been the nest of friends at first but they had grown closer while Svara had been closed out from his heart. He did love her but during the time between her losing her memory and returning home he feels no guilt for how he treated her.

Svara's return could be a annoyance but Leroy had bigger things to worry about at the moment then his ex-mate, Ayita's pregnancy was far along and she would be ready to give birth soon. Oh don't forget the coming fall and winter. A sigh left his lungs at the thoughts, he was ready for the pups or at least he thought he was. Building the crib has been a slight bit harder then he had planned, the rain almost ruined his attempt at building it though now he was traveling back from the city with he last of his supplies.

The talk black and white male carried his usually yellow bag that was stuffed full with nails,a small mattress, and other small detail things. Red eyes were behind his lashes that was slightly covered by his outgrown hair that needed to be re cut, walking back to the hotel would take a bit of time though the husky male will mostly likely go home and head but to work in the morning. Blinking for a second Leroy's mind was broken away from his thoughts as a familiar scent touched him, one that he hasn't smelled in so long that he was very surprised to even smell. A small smile tugged at his lips as his body changed his direction, trailing the scent till the red form of his sibling came into view."you look like hell Leland.." Tiliting his head for a moment his deep voice spoke out to his brother as he closed the gap between them. "I didn't know you was back in souls."

OOC:

Leroy was there, standing above him and Leland remained seated, looking up at his brother. Leroy’s face was hard to read, as was his simple statement. Yes, of course Leland looked like hell, he knew that. He was back, yes. Both straight out facts that Leroy had felt the need to share, and Leland smiled but it was an empty smile, no real joy or mirth. It was an automatic response, one he reserved whenever he saw family, but it had no meaning behind it. Nothing much had meaning since he had left Lyla’s side. Torn her and Rue apart. They had had puppies together, they had been happy. Now perhaps their children would have some half brothers or sisters and Leland would never even know. He didn’t even care.

“Yeah…” Odd colored eyes looked up into the ruby red irises of his brother. He wasn’t sure how he could explain his reappearance, only that it had happened. The was how the last few months of his life had gone, it had only happened. “I went ‘ome, but now I’m back.” His voice was monotonous, dead. Like a recording almost, just stating the facts. “Everyone’s doin’ fine.” Mom had been fine, Dad had been fine, Lyle, who was the only brother not to leave home, had been fine. Leland didn’t mention that he didn’t say goodbye to them. That he had simply awoken one day, not long after sleeping with another man’s mate, and just left.

Leland looked down at his paws, bruised and swollen, and then back up at his brother. His brother looked healthy, full coat, clean, well fed. Leland smiled at him, almost genuine for a moment and then the emptiness, so uncharacteristic of the male who was normally loud, happy and full of joy. His voice sounded completely unlike him. He wasn’t even sure what to say anymore, he didn’t even think to ask how his brother was doing.

sorry for the wait it took me a min to find the thead ^^;

It was almost strange to see Leland again, his brother was blood of course but besides that there wasn't much that bonded them. Red eyes looked over his brother, there was somthing odd in the way he smiled almost unnerving. Leroy wasn't sure what it was that was out of character for his rightous sibling, maybe he did hear of the news of his past love and her happy family.

Shaggy hair moved from the twitch of his ears, Leland and Leroy were so far apart on the spetrum it was hard to tell if they even had that brotherly love. Home, that explains alot. Maw wrinkled alightly at the word 'ome, he said it like their father. BRows pushed together for a momen before speaking. "Guess it's goodtheir fine an 'all." Looking down at his brother Leroy's hard face was blank aside from his bright eyes, watching him for a second before glancing at the packlands. "waiting on me I'mtaking it, is there somthing going on? You've never be one to look for either me or lysander." Leroy spoke his mind and again it seemed his brother looked so odd, and his voice was not the normal male. Leland was not his responosablity whatever is bothering him didn't seem important enough to tell.

OOC: Throwing this reply up now, will reply with Lysander tomorrow. Can you wait to reply until after I get the Lysander post up?

Leland flicked his ear at Leroy’s words, his casual way of taking in the news and tossing it aside as if Leland had remarked on the day. It was not a surprise, he knew that Leroy, and even more so Lysander, had left with no intention of looking back towards home, taking with them only a few select memories of the place they had come from and perhaps erasing those memories as they filled their minds with more recent, more exciting events. Yet Leland did not press or push for Leroy to show more emotion, he knew it was fruitless and he really didn’t care all too much. At one point, he would have, but now… now his brothers mattered less than ever and Leland simply nodded in confirmation. Yup. Everything at home was fine.

“I didn’t know ya took up with this pack… Jus’ wanted to see it I guess.” Leland offered him the excuse, the affirmation that he had been waiting on his brother. Yet whether this was completely the reason for Leland to be standing here, he wasn’t sure. Perhaps it had more to do with, he had no where else to go. Here was as good as anywhere, so why did he need a reason. Perhaps it was just coincidence that lead Leland to stand before his kin. Yet he would keep up the façade of coming calling, coming to inquire about the health and well being of Leroy. “So, how are ya anyway? What been goin’ on?” The question was asked, but there was no feeling behind it.

      Lysander hadn’t meant to listen in on his brothers, it had all just happened. First he had scented Leland, or so he thought, and trailing the scent he found that indeed his foolish brother had returned. His mind raced back to their last meeting, the blow Leland had dealt Lysander and Lysander smirked, choosing to forget it and forge ahead, hoping to catch up with the male. And he had, or almost, but Leroy had come upon him first, and like the snake that he was Lysander had held back, lingering out of eye sight and making no noise, listening to their voices murmur on the winds. It wasn’t until he heard his own name mentioned by Leroy that he slid forward, bursting into view from the underbrush and trees he had been backed up into.

      “Ohoho, a secret meeting without me. What kind of brothers are you?” It was then he got his first real view of Leland and he could tell something had gone horribly wrong. The male was thin and dirty, his paws looked torn to shreds and his coat was in the worst shape Ly had ever seen. Yet he said nothing but lifted his eyes at one brother, than the next, as if to ask what was happening. When he spoke again it was directed to Leroy, for the sorry state of Leland was almost too much for him to stare at. A dog should take better care of himself… The thought lingered on his mind but never crossed his lips, instead his words were warm and casual, as if nothing was amiss. “What’s going on then?”
