OOC:[p] Snake; please no one else.

BIC: Oh little sand flea! Where did you go?! The boy was trying to catch them again. He was digging though the rocks, annoyed that after an hour of searching for one, he finally caught sight of it, and then it disappeared! The magical little bugger! He stopped digging in the rocks for a second, to scope the area. He had been lucky to find a slightly deserted part of the beach, but it was the worst section if he did say so himself. It didn't like all the rocks, and desperately tried to deal with them for quite some time now. He had gone rock after rock. The gray one, the brownish gray, the blueish, reddish, somewhat purpleish grays and even moss covered ones. It was getting annoying, and somewhat boring. He wanted to have a company. Yes, a company. Not companies, just one. One company. He wondered if anybody would be stupid enough to come over here, like he had been. He hit his forehead with his palm and sighed as he sat down on the pile of rocks that he made. This place sucks. No sand. thought the boy, trying to think about what to do next.

He wondered what packland he had stumbled upon this time. He was curious because it too had a beach. On Zirenta, there was the shorelines, and then the cove. No real two beaches that were... claimed. If anything that's what irked him. The beaches...Claimed! How could you claim the sea?! It was stupid. Why did they do that one? It didn't make sense. He didn't want to think about it anymore. It was a buzz kill thinking about how at any moment he would be caught tresspassing on private property of a freaking pack. It was the beach. It was water. It was the sea. Something he loved. You couldn't keep him away from it. Not now, not ever. Daisuke looked out to the ocean for answers, for peace. He needed the peace, or he'd be lost forever. Lost in anger. Father told him to never anger. Never let anything get under your skin. Keep only survival on your mind. Be graceful with words, with your feet too. Never let your gaurd down. Anyone can turn at the last moment.

He pulled the unfinished hemp necklace that he had learned to make off of his tail, and he started to work on it one again. He went through each step, keeping his hands busy as he looked out to the ocean. Perhaps for Kisuke. For the Golden Dragon of a father. He smiled lightly. Your humor is hilarious, ocean! the male telpathically spoke to the ocean before he reached his foot to the water and wiggling his toes. You're awesome. Daisuke dared not to speak before the waves. Not when company wasn't around. He stayed in silence for the ocean's words. Hands still knotting up the necklace. He had the perfect shell to put on the end of it too. He was almost done with it. Only the shell and the neck of it's owner was missing.

Snake had been loping down the expanse of Hades Beach. He mostly kept to the shoreline, where the sand and pebbles met the broad plain filled with jagged rocks and pinnacle before fading into the plains and forests of Inferni. This was the next step on his exploration of the territory. He had visited the center, where the Caves were, and the northern reaches where the lands dipped and rose into grassy peaks and canyons. He had thoroughly explored the landfill in the southwestern part of the territory, though the forest was still beyond him at the moment. That would be next, right after he finished roving the beach. It wasn’t exactly what anyone would call a paradise resort. The water was a blue-gray, moving sluggishly—very different from the usual crashing waves of the northern Atlantic. It was cold, due to their northern nature as well as the shifting seasons. The chilliness didn’t bother the young coyote, though; he continued right along. His paws, used to treading over rough ground, weren’t at all bothered by the sharp sand and the occasional rock. It was a gentle walk, under a calm day.

That was, of course, until the wayward coastal winds carried a scent to Snake. The dark fur along his spine immediately began to prickle as he realized that it was not a scent branded with Inferni, and didn’t even seem coyote at all. Wolf. The word hissed in his mind, and he remembered immediately the words of Hezekiah and Kaena—that wolves in this region were not to be trusted and, above all, were meant to be kept out of Inferni.

This was it. This was Snake’s chance to step up for Inferni. He had heard about the recent intrusion of another wolf, who had been idiotic enough to take one of the wolf skulls adorning the pikes along the boundaries and break it. Inferni had found him, broken him, and replaced the skull he had broken with his very own. While Snake didn’t think he could transcend to that level of savagery just yet (well, at least not alone), he was sure that he would respond accordingly.

He ran towards the scent as swiftly as his Optime form could carry him until he found the trespasser—a golden-furred wolf, perhaps a yearling, who was sitting atop one of the beach’s rocks, staring out to sea and weaving something between his fingers. His peace seemed to infuriate the normally-emotionless Snake. He growled, the sound growing in a quick crescendo in his teenager’s throat until it erupted in a small snarl. “You are trespassing on Inferni lands,” he stated bluntly, standing not but ten feet away from the wolf. “I suggest you leave—now.” He took a neutral stance, but a strong one. He knew he didn’t have to do anything special in his Optime form. But, if he faced any troubles here, he knew he was only a few minutes away from his powerful Secui form or his swift Lupus form. Snake had been called a savant at shifting, managing to do so usually from two to five minutes. He didn’t think he needed it. He was a proficient fighter in his most human of all forms.

OOC: I hope you don't mind Daisuke being weird. xD; also there is a slight pp, and if you want me to edit, I will do so asap, just pm me.

BIC: Daisuke yawned lightly. The ocean's melodic voice seemed to try and lull him to sleep. His audits bent back as he fought to stay awake, his hands still working hard on the knotting of the necklace. He sighed once more before he actually looked down at the necklace and realized that it was done. He looked at it and then wrapped it around his own neck to see if it would fit. Just slightly too small. He sighed again before he took the shell that sat on the rock next to him, and he tied it to the middle, where it would hang down on the owner's neck. Now all he needed to do is find that special someone to put it on. He was sad that there wasn't a company around, even though little did he know, he was on lands that were not so....hospitable as the others might have been. In fact, didn't he see a wolf skull on a pike when he entered the lands? Why...Now that he thought about it, yes he certainly did. Did he care? Not really. He was a loner, and a peaceful loner, and he did not plan on causing the pack who lived here any harm, so why should they be so angry that he was there? All he was doing was admiring the ocean that they had claimed for themselves. Every time he thought about the claiming of the ocean, it made his shackles raise in annoyance.

Then a growl hit his audits. He didn't bother to pay much attention to who was coming his way, especially since he was lost in his own mind, thinking about the ocean. His blue orbs lazily moved towards the source of the growl, and there stood a male, looking a little bit aggressive, and defensive. He looked the male up and down, before his eyes moved back to the hemp necklace that he wove. You are trespassing on Inferni lands, I suggest you leave—now. a threat that had gotten to his audits, but blatantly ignored by the golden wolf. He was more concerned about his necklace that he made. Daisuke looked back to the "wolf" that stood there. Was he even a wolf? He looked like one, but then again, he was much shorter, and slightly different in his looks. You see, truth was, They did not have coyotes on Zirenta, and He hadn't really met any when he left the island either, so he was basically lost. Daisuke held a friendly smile on his lips, and he hopped down from his perch. His blue eyes were locked on the olive green of the other male's. Daisuke stood at his full height, but his body held no hostility, rather instead, it held a puppyish innocence to it, and his tail even wagged lightly, even though the male was growling and snarling. You're cute enough. It'll suit you perfectly. he spoke, his body closing the distance between the two. He held up the necklace and looked at it around the boy's neck for a brief moment. Most definitely. The shell even matches. the boy giggled lightly. He then went reached his hands around the boy's neck, making the two be very close for a second as he double tied the necklace behind the boy's neck. Not tight enough to choke him, but tight enough to where it would be comfortable. The boy's neck did look so much better after he put it there.

Now little puppy... You be nice, you hear? No more growling, and snarling, okay? he spoke as he touched the boy's nose with his finger, and giggled. He removed his finger rather quick though, hoping the boy wouldn't try and bite him. My name's Daisuke C. Ghanjai/Urahazu. Who're you? Also, you said this place is Inferni? This is the first I'm hearing the name. I'm sorry for trespassing, but I'm not exactly....From this place... From this general area. I just arrived here from Zirenta a few days ago, so I'm just trying to find my way around the place.... Plus! The ocean calls me. She said that she missed me, and I just couldn't ignore her. If she gets mad, well...She'd probably flood the entire shore! Or worse, the entire land! You know she has to power to do that, 'ya know! he got all dramatic at the end, raising his hands high in the sky to emphasize that he meant what he was talking about. He also nodded his head rapidly before letting the friendly smile reappear on his lips. Plus, I'm waiting for the water dragon. he should be around the beach somewhere. Have you seen him yet? the boy asked, his head cocking lightly before he looked back at the necklace that he place around the boy's neck. It really makes a difference. It looks so perfect placed right there... You promise to leave it on? For me? Pleaseeee? he begged the boy. The necklace meant so much to him, since he had been spending the last few days working and working on it so that it'd be perfect for this male whom rightfully "claimed" it with his look. If the boy took it off....Daisuke would be heartbroken, angry, confused. All sorrow would show, and he's probably fall into a dark depression. All he wanted was to be friends. And friends give friends gifts. And this was his gift to this boy.

It was when the golden wolf turned that Snake noticed he was twisting something about his claws. The coyote’s keen vision focused on it—it seemed to be something like thin pieces of twine, wrapped into a kind of rope. Well, whoever this weaving stranger was, it seemed as though he was intent on being totally nonchalant about trespassing onto coyote grounds that had skulls placed around the perimeter to keep wolves out. Snake’s eyes narrowed—virtually disappearing under the shadow of his bandanna—as the trespasser jumped down from his rocky perch. The younger coyote tensed up, all the muscles in his shoulders and arms tensing as the stranger approached him. He was a synapse or two away from attacking when the other canine waltzed over, tail wagging like a puppy, and began to put the twine rope around his neck. Shock kept Snake from moving—he merely watched, his olive eyes widening slightly, as the golden-furred wolf tied the necklace firmly. At first alarms went off in his head (one learned to avoid anything that looked like a noose in New Haven), but, when it was tied around his neck, it wasn’t to where it was choking him. But it constricted his throat. He wanted it off.

Snake was about to reach up and pull the blasted thing off of him when he caught the wolf speaking to him. Until that point the coyote hadn’t really noticed (he was too busy hearing the blood rushing through his ears, ready to strike), but the condescending nature that this wolf—who seemed barely a few months older than Snake himself—had towards the Inferni member made Snake’s blood boil even more ferociously. The anger spread through his veins, heating his skin and making his fur prickle uncomfortably. Emotion was something that Snake felt rarely—such strong emotion to actually effect him visibly was something that happened once in a blue moon. Looked like today was one of those blue moons.

The Tirones hit the wolf’s hand away when he attempted to touch his nose, another growl rumbling from his young throat. He hated how the necklace felt against his rumbling vocal chords. He could barely focus on what the wolf was saying. He introduced himself as Daisuke, and that he was new to these parts and that he ocean had called him and that he was waiting for a sea dragon or something like that. Pragmatic Snake didn’t care. Any idiot could see the stakes at the boundaries, and smell the scent markings—this was a place where his kind was not allowed. The wolf blathered on more about the necklace, and Snake tried to figure out what to do. Whenever he thought about defending the territory, it was towards a coyote-aggressive wolf. Not one who gave shell necklaces and waited around for damn water dragons.

But, as the young coyote looked at the wolf with smoldering anger in his eyes, he realized that he couldn’t attack him. He had the right to, but he couldn’t. It was his kindness—giving gifts to strangers. Hadn’t he already given a mirror to Bram, not but a few days ago? Same thing. Maybe he could end this without being overtly nasty. Just as long as this Daisuke didn’t treat him like a four-month-old anymore.

He lowered his hand, which had been reaching toward the necklace, and quieted the emotion in his eyes. He was flat again—emotionless, automatic. “How about a deal—I’ll wear the necklace if you let me escort you out of here.” Snake was tortured. He shuddered to think how Kaena or any other Inferni member would feel if they learned that he was skipping the chance to kill—or at least violently chase off—some trespassing wolf. That’s the reason why he had to make this fast. “You need to get out of here. There are coyotes here that wouldn’t think twice about killing a trespasser like you. There is other ocean in this land for you to visit without danger.” He tried to be reasonable, to be persuasive. It was all he could do. Any moment now the winds could shift and the scent of wolf could be carried to any Inferni member. Then it might be curtains. Despite the fact that he seemed soulless, Snake did care. Even the tin man ended up having a heart, somewhere.

OOC:

BIC: Daisuke's blue eyes looked at the other male's eyes. They showed him anger, an anger that was just a fire that was much like his brother's. It made him wince back lightly. His audits fell back lightly. He also saw the boy's hand raise several times. It rose to the necklace. He prayed that the boy would not take it off. It was something that he held so close to his heart. But Daisuke's sorrow was pushed away by hopeful thoughts as the other male's shock melted away, as well as the aggression. He turned into something that was emotionless. A machine... Daisuke's audits pulled back forward. How about a deal—I’ll wear the necklace if you let me escort you out of here. the voice of the male was comforting. It was a nice voice when it was not snarly and aggressive. His tail wagged at the deal, but Daisuke wanted to take it one step further. How about we adventure? I most definitely would love to do that. You look like you'd like to adventure too. he started to speak before shutting his mouth to let the other continue to speak. You need to get out of here. There are coyotes here that wouldn’t think twice about killing a trespasser like you. There is other ocean in this land for you to visit without danger. Coyotes? Was that what he was? A Coyote? Is that why he looked different? Is that why he was different in his scent as well? Coyotes? This isn't another band of wolves? Coyotes..Is that what you are? he asked, his head cocking to the side for a minute. He didn't know anything about coyotes, much less anything on this crazy island. If you're talking about the beach in Cour Des Miracles, then i don't think they want me to go back there....I really don't want to run into that one chick again...she hurt my ears, she really did... he spoke pathetically to the male, his own audits pressing back against his head, if you looked very close at those ears' you could see the scabbing of his encounter with that feo.

But yeah, you can escort me. Also...What's your name? I don't think you said it.. he spoke, looking to the shorter boy with a smile on his maw. He then looked to the ocean once again. I'll see you some other time, ocean dear! You better show me that dragon next time, okay? he called out to the water, whom simply let another wave crash onto the shores of this rocky beach. His eyes then went back to the boy. He was incredibly adorable, and he really wanted to know the name of the wolf coyote that he had given his necklace to. Daisuke reached his hand out to this boy now, afterall, he did say he was going to escort Daisuke off of the lands. You're part of this pack? You said they'd kill me...What do they have against wolves? he asked, cocking his head to the opposite way he had done before. He was curious, and this was a pressing issue, and it would be better for him to know so he avoids this place next time...Welll.....That was until he wanted to see the boy whom he had given the necklace to. His eyes went to the shell on the end of the necklace, and he couldn't help but be extremely happy that the boy had made a deal with him. I dunno if I'll be able to stay away. I might have to check up on you and see if you still got my necklace around your neck. You have to swear that you won't purposely take it off.. It's only okay if someone rips it off, or it falls off. And then, when that does happen, I can make you a new one! he spoke excitedly as he started to move away from the male, starting to go towards the way he had come from. There was borders where he had entered, so he supposed that he might as well go the way he came.

So were you born here? At Souls? Or were you born elsewhere like I? he asked, curious about the boy's past. He was younger than Daisuke, by a few months, but still. He could have been like Daisuke, grown up in some place that was totally primitive and then wandered here and had to start over. Just like himself. Or, the boy could have been born here, in this pack. This band of unfriendly coyotes. They reminded him of Dehvor. The band of mafia wolves on the neighboring island of Ansea. The thought sent chills up his spine. He didn't want to be killed. He didn't mind a few scars here and there, but death was something that he couldn't deal with. The boy looked back at the brute whom's pelt almost matched his own. His blue eyes gleaming with friendliness and excitement. So how about that adventure? he asked, smiling back at the male before he hummed a small tune to himself, continuing to walk, glancing back at the male, making sure he was following.

Snake’s past fury seemed to have effected Daisuke considerably—he watched as the golden wolf appeared hurt by it. Well, Snake thought, annoyed, Maybe he shouldn’t go telling folks a few months younger than him that they’re children and adorable! If there were two things that Snake was not—if not physically, then mentally—it was “cute” and “childish”.

He looked on blankly as the wolf said that he’d much rather have an adventure rather than simply leave. Snake’s frown deepened slightly, though it wasn’t terribly noticeable. He didn’t really have the time nor the patience for an adventure. He didn’t respond, initially, though he did give a slight nod when the wolf asked if coyotes were what he was. “We are related to wolves, but we are usually smaller. We look different.” One could tell fairly easily by the more angular features, the thinness, size, bigger ears, and bushier tails. Snake exhibited most of these, except that he had gained his taller-than-average height from his father. Daisuke continued, speaking about a beach in a place called Cour des Miracles—a place Snake had never heard of. He shook his head. “There are bound to be beaches not claimed by a pack.”

When Daisuke asked for his name, Snake hesitated. His mother had always warned him against giving away his name willy-nilly. ‘When it comes right down to it sometimes,’ she had said, ‘Your name’s the only thing that’s yours.’ But he didn’t see any issue with divulging it to Daisuke—he couldn’t see the goofy wolf doing anything malicious with it. “Snake,” he ended up saying, giving the wolf’s outstretched hand a wary glance before shaking it (he might have meant for Snake to actually lead him, and, if so, Snake misinterpreted). After Daisuke had a reconciliation with the ocean, Snake immediately angled himself towards the nearest stretch of border and started walking towards it, expecting Daisuke to follow. At his question about why Inferni was so protective, he glanced over his shoulder and responded, “Wolves have fought coyotes forever. Inferni came together so the coyotes could create a land where they didn’t have to be afraid of wolves who wanted to do them harm. We—we only act aggressively to keep wolves far away.” The coyotes of Inferni were masters of fighting fire with fire.

The young coyote gave a small groan when Daisuke admitted he might not be able to stay away—if that were the case, there was nothing Snake could do, and this golden wolf’s head would soon find itself on the top of one of those pikes around the borders of Inferni. He didn’t respond to the wolf’s urging of him to keep the necklace on (Snake didn’t possess the foresight enough to know what he’d do with the thing); he merely kept heading towards the borders. Eventually the question of his origin arrived, and Snake shook his head. “No, I was born in a city called New Haven. It’s… west of here.” His eyes darkened with the memories of that accursed place. He gave a quick sigh at the question about the adventure. “How about we get out of Inferni before we have that adventure?” he said with a feigned light voice. “Because if they learn that I’m helping you out like this, they’ll have my head instead of yours.”

Great job, Snake. Only a week living here and you’ve already started committing the cardinal sins of the pack, he thought bitterly to himself. Curse this bloody conscious of mine.

OOC: Dai talks alot... xD

BIC: Daisuke started to go in the opposite direction of the male, which he noticed only seconds after, and with that, he turned around on his heels and trotted up alongside the other male. We are related to wolves, but we are usually smaller. We look different. the boy spoke on the whole coyote subject. I do agree that you look different, even smell different. I've just...never encountered one of your kind before... he spoke, looking at the ground for a second, not in shame, but more in a thoughtful way. He'd have to keep in mind that there were different species of canine here, and that the coyotes had a problem with the wolves. “There are bound to be beaches not claimed by a pack. he continued. i don't understand why there are claimed beaches here though. The ocean cannot belong to just one. No. The ocean, she belongs to herself, and no one else. For one to try and chain her is blasphemy, wouldn't you think? he asked, cocking his head to the male. Daisuke had his beliefs, and he would always stick by them. Ever since he was a little pup, he had asked why was the sea claimed by Qixak. He never understood this fact, and never liked it either. He never did find the answer to it.

Snake. the male spoke. That was his name? Just...Snake? It was a good name, he guessed. It was simple, yet strong. Snake....I like it. It's a good name. For you. It suits you. It does. he spoke, smiling softly at the male. You don't have a surname? Like, you know, how my name is Daisuke Urahazu? Do all coyotes not have surnames? he asked, curious about not only him, but his species as well. He wondered how much different they really were. Wolves have fought coyotes forever. Inferni came together so the coyotes could create a land where they didn’t have to be afraid of wolves who wanted to do them harm. We—we only act aggressively to keep wolves far away. he was slightly saddened at the fact that his own kind could be so mean to their cousins. That's not right. I'm sorry that there is violence between our kind. I don't understand why everyone's gotta be so mean to each other. If everyone got along... he stopped mid sentence because his emotions were starting to flare up a bit. We could happily live together. The wolves and coyotes I mean. he continued, his voice cracking slightly in the middle of his sentence.

No, I was born in a city called New Haven. It’s… west of here. New Haven... It sounded like it'd be nice there. But not all titles for places were really true. He decided not to push further because of the male's sigh. So you know more about these "cities" than I do. I came from a small chain of islands. It's a long swim from here, and they aren't like you, or me. They are stuck in feral form. They don't have the Luperci there. They don't have anything. They live wildly. No buildings, clothes. The place made me feel Claustrophobic though, and my sister and I left. She left me after we found land though...And then I found here. I found Souls as my first yearling achievement. he shared with the male, just trying to keep some form of conversation going. How about we get out of Inferni before we have that adventure? Because if they learn that I’m helping you out like this, they’ll have my head instead of yours. Snake spoke. Daisuke in return touched his shoulder. If they did that, then they have no heart. If they even threaten you, Snake....I'll handle them for you. I'd rather have my head on a pike than yours. As far as the situation goes now, I'm the one who deserves that punishment, not you. he spoke, seriously speaking, which meant that his voice and eyes were dark, and serious. He was serious, as serious as he could be. but once the moment was over, his hand removed itself from the boy's shoulder, and the smile returned to his lips. I guess that also means I'm in debt to you, since you're letting me go. If you ever need me, then let the wind carry my name, okay? If you call, I'll be more than glad to come and rescue you. he spoke, smiling softly at the boy. He meant every word. Snake was his new friend, and friends...They do anything for each other...Or atleast in Daisuke's world they did. That adventure.. It's gonna be great, you hear? Maybe we can look for treasure! Ohhhhh, that sounds like so much fun! way to jump from subject to subject Daisuke. You also never said if you'd keep it on... he spoke, his eyes narrowing on the male for a minute.

The coyote shrugged at Daisuke’s question. He had no romantic feelings towards the ocean, or the forests, or the plains, nor any general landscape. It was all land to him, unfortunately, and land could be claimed by groups in order to increase their rate of survivability. When the golden wolf commented on his name, though, he noticed that this was the second time someone agreed that his name suited him. He had never really had any overt insights on his name; he thought it was simply what he was called, and didn’t go past that. He didn’t see any reason to overanalyze it, which was part of the reason why he kept no surname. It was a subject that Snake wasn’t comfortable with, though, and when the wolf brought it up, Snake looked towards him and then away. “No, I think most coyotes have last names. I don’t. I choose not to.” His mother had told him not to take his, he couldn’t think of his own, and he was still confused about taking his father’s. So he had none.

Snake was fascinated with the amount of sadness that came over the wolf at the news of the history between the species. This Daisuke seemed to be quite the idealist, which was something that a pragmatic and realist mind like Snake couldn’t understand. At the wolf’s musings on a probable peace between the lycanthropes, the coyote didn’t respond at first. Idiots on both sides would fight, strife would form, and a vicious circle would start and remain unbroken. “I don’t think that’s possible. At least, not in this place.” Maybe somewhere else, but Inferni had apparently seen enough trouble to block out the wolves all together.

He listened with vague interest as the wolf outlined briefly his past life; how he grew up on islands where the wolves lived wildly, as they did when humans were still on the planet, and that he and his sister escaped a while ago. He had recently arrived in Souls, just as Snake had. He didn’t respond until Daisuke reached out and touched Snake on the shoulder; the coyote nearly flinched. His throat got tied up as the wolf gave him his support—something that no one had ever offered him—and he found that he couldn’t speak in response. He didn’t even nod. He merely started walking again. Anyone who was around Snake long enough could realize that he wasn’t the most socially-inclined of canines. Actually, he was quite backwards. And he didn’t have any thoughts of changing that.

The coyote glanced at the golden wolf when he said that he could call on him whenever, and gave a small nod as an acknowledgement. He then went off on a tangent about the adventure that was apparently in their future (Snake gave to himself an inward groan, but at least he had managed to get the wolf to the borders!), and then glanced at the coyote and the necklace that he wore. Snake thought about it for a minute, and then looked to the wolf. “I’ll keep it on,” he said, and he meant it. He glanced around and saw that the skulls on stakes were growing closer, and he felt very thankful that they had not been discovered yet. Soon he would have carried out his act of some kind of compassion, and then he could face whatever repercussions it had…

No, I think most coyotes have last names. I don’t. I choose not to. replied the boy on the subject of the whole surname situation. So he did not want to belong to his family? Just like Daisuke had not wanted to belong to the Urahazu clan? Daisuke didn't necessarily disown his parents and siblings, no. He just didn't want to be the brother of his brother. Carlisle had made their life so much harder, and it was hard not to dislike him for that fact. He was the reason that the family had fallen apart, and he took Ryn with him. Daisuke knew that Carlisle was trouble, and he was right. His older brother was nothing but trouble, in the worst forms really. Daisuke chose Ghanjai over Urahazu because his father was still a Ghanjai when he died, and he's rather belong to the root family instead of the adopted family. He still went by both names, but he always used Ghanjai first. Always. So ya' just didn't want to belong to your family? Did they wrong you? he asked, his head cocking lightly. I don’t think that’s possible. At least, not in this place. so he didn't think peace would ever come over this land. How pathetic of this place. Were the gods happy with this war? Between Coyote and wolf? Or maybe there just wasn't a disciple that had been sent to take care of the problem. Maybe he was that disciple... Is no one willing to talk it out? To make agreements? I'm sure any place could be at peace. It only takes someone that is willing to sit down and talk it out and negotiate. he argued lightly to the male, not really trying to sound like he was arguing, but it was just something that he thought about.

Snake barely gave a response about Daisuke wanting to protect him from danger that he might come into contact with, all at first, and he stopped for a second though, and just merely looked at him. It was a serious moment, and Daisuke meant every word, but he did not expect the male to offer what he had just offered to the boy. Daisuke was just overly kind, and he always wanted someone that he could run to when they needed help. He was selfless, and kind. He always would offer his life for another. This situation was no different. If someone was to help him, he would help back. He would give his life for someone whom was kind back to him, and there was nothing anyone could really way, because that was just the way he had been all the time. His father was almost the same way as Daisuke, but much calmer, and more relaxed about the world. His father was also the sole protector of Qixak Cove for quite some time. Daisuke missed his father, and his mother. They both were so kind, and so beautiful. Their love was beautiful as well. All of the Urahazu kids too were beautiful. Pachi, as coal as their father's siblings, with a flare of orange and golden like fire flaring up her legs and tail. Carlisle, the perfect mix of Kisuke and Sathra, with a base of chocolate, with golden belly markings, and mismatched amber and azure orbs. Kaetel, the mix of their father, and mother's family. Based in a ashy silver, and tipped with golden audits, a golden nose stripe, and a golden tip on her tail. Then there was his youngest baby sister. Ryn. She was the same golden base as both her father and Daisuke, but she had to take on the white from her mother which stained her belly and toes. Her eyes were a stunning green. None of the Urahazu kids had green until Ryn. She was the special one.

Daisuke walked along the male's side, Daisuke easily taller than the other male. This was why Daisuke thought he was so young. But now that he knew that his breed was just short, he was unsure if the male was so different in age as he. Just as he was about to open his maw and speak again, the other male beat him to it. I'll keep it on. spoke the other golden pelted canine. Daisuke's tail swung back and forth with an excitement that was unmatched by anyone. His maw pulled into a big smile, and he felt the urge to just let out a excited yip. He didn't though, since that might just attract any coyotes that might be in the area. He fought the urge with a great deal of strength before he jumped up and ran around the male in a large circle several times. Since he could not express his happiness in the form of a howl, or bark, he resorted to actually running around in circles to calm himself from the surge of excitement that ran through him. Yay! Thanks so much Snake! I'm sure it'll bring you luck, yes! Very much luck! he spoke, rather excited about the fact that the boy would wear it. He then trotted back up to the side of the male, only slightly out of breath that was caught up with as they walked closer and closer to the pikes with the skulls. Daisuke wanted to take one though. They were so cool. The only reason he didn't grab one before was because he was too busy running into the lands and following the scent of the salty sea on the wind. Now that he was passing them a second time, he felt the urge to take one and use it as a walking stick. Has anyone ever stolen one of your pikes? he asked, the sudden interest turned into a question. He didn't want to imply that he was thinking about stealing it, but he did want to know what would happen if someone did steal one.

“No, they did not wrong me,” Snake answered softly. His brother and Patriot might have wronged him painfully—the long scar along his ribs was a testament to that—but his parents had done nothing but care for him throughout his life. But he could not understand why. The son of Nikita and Laurel seemed to have been born with something missing; he did not understand emotion, and so very rarely felt it. When he found maternal love from his mother, it had confounded him. Why would she care for him when he had been so useless? It was even more complicated with his father. He had been pleasant and kind, yes, but Snake could see stories behind his eyes. He imagined them wondering why they allowed Snake to tag along. He wasn’t really useful. He was strange, this mechanical being, and he saw how his behavior affected his mother negatively. So he ran away. “A family name—it’s just not for me.” Snake did not understand family. He wouldn’t require a family name, then.

And while Daisuke’s sentiment on peace and negotiation seemed noble to Snake, he realized that it wasn’t realistic. “Many would wage war with words. Or end it, rather,” the stoic boy said, “But most find that too difficult. Sometimes it’s much easier to try to solve problems the feral way—to fight.” Because wasn’t that what it all came down to, in this natural world of creatures and survival? Fight or flight—those who did not flee from a situation stood around to fight it tooth and claw.

It was always a curious relationship between the realist and the idealist. Daisuke wanted nothing more than to help Snake—for he was a soul born out of compassion and selflessness—but Snake was very opposite. He did not really understand compassion; he thought that everyone was self-motivated. All actions were preformed to benefit the performer. Still, he seemed heartfelt, and he was certainly thrilled when Snake promised that he would wear the necklace. That kind of blind happiness was almost caustic to cold-blooded Snake, but he managed to stomach it. He didn’t watch the other wolf as he ran around him in glee, as he felt it might make him dizzy. He listened to Daisuke’s words with a kind of bitter irony—oh, yes, luck. That’s just what I need, all the luck in the damn world.

But when Daisuke asked his final question and looked, with intention gleaming in his blue eyes, towards the pikes, the fur along the back of Snake’s neck prickled uncomfortably. “No,” he growled, a warning wavering in his voice. But it was not selfish here, for once. Was this a beginning of a selfless Snake? “Do not mess with them. I heard a story of a wolf who took a skull down from one and smashed it. The leader here found it and led the coyotes to chase the wolf down, and they killed him. I would suggest leave them alone.” Snake couldn’t very well stop the wolf, as he wasn’t physically or linguistically powerful enough for that, but he knew that the golden-furred wolf could probably find something so similar in the sprawling forests of Bleeding Souls. Best not risk your life for a stick—though it was a symbol more than anything.

Things are starting to accelerate into something never
Stopping always troubled but..

No, they did not wrong me. A family name—it’s just not for me. spoke the male. Azure eyes fell on the male. He wasn't part of a family? He disowned his parents, his siblings for a life of loneliness? It was a sad fate. Daisuke didn't like to think of his family not being his family. Daisuke was beginning to gt lost with this boy. He was strange, interesting, but very strange. Daisuke's audits fell back slightly. But...I don't understand...Why is it not for you? What about your kids? Would they remain in the air as well? Or would they take their mother's name? Or would you just...make her drop her surname too? a barrel of questions. It wasn't his fault that he thought about everything too deeply. You'd think that the boy would be able to just have one solid conversation, but again, this was the male whom could not possibly look at one thing for more than a few minutes.

Many would wage war with words. Or end it, rather, but most find that too difficult. Sometimes it’s much easier to try to solve problems the feral way—to fight. spoke the other. He too had an interesting view on that topic. Did that mean he was one of those whom preferred to fight over talk? Daisuke was the one whom would not fight unless he had to defend his life. His father had engraved sayings in his mind, so Daisuke would be ready to go into battle. The golden dragon that his father was, he was always teaching his children the ways of war. It wasn't because Kisuke wanted his children to be aggressive, no not at all. It was more of the fact that he wanted them to justify evil if it came walking their way. He wanted them to be able to defend themselves and their honor. Kisuke was as pure as Daisuke. Their intentions were to achieve peace, though Daisuke was more of the one whom would more than likely talk before fighting, while Kisuke would rather kick your ass and have fun doing it, and then after that have peace. But now that some of us aren't so feral anymore, why can't they talk it out? A lot of confusion could be avoided if someone would just sit down and talk about the problems they have with the other, and then once that was off of the chest, then they would be able to try and fix it. But then again...I guess some of us are just greedy bastards that just want the land for themselves and their pack. he spoke, sighing lightly as he thought about of another reason that the wolves might be going after the coyotes.

Daisuke let his eyes wander back to the skull on the pike. No, Do not mess with them. I heard a story of a wolf who took a skull down from one and smashed it. The leader here found it and led the coyotes to chase the wolf down, and they killed him. I would suggest leave them alone. a warning none-the-less, but something was different about it. Daisuke couldn't put his finger on it right away, so he ignored it for now. The pack... They like the skulls that much? Then it is a warning for us to not come here.. For us to leave. I really am sorry for trespassing, and putting you in danger, Snake-kun. the boy had added on an honorific that his father used to use very often. His father said it was something that you always would call a male. -kun was never female, and he had remembered it. He had remembered most of what his father had told him, for he had to. He had to because he would remind himself sub consciously because he admired his father. He wanted to be as much like him as he could. That would take many years though. Daisuke was not ready to calm down as much as his father had. Not yet. He wasn't ready to grow up. They are really cool though. I would steal one if they weren't so.... protected by the pack. I'd hate to start hostilities. I can just make one myself. Maybe a rabbit skull.....Or a deer skull..Wanna help me make one? Maybe we can make one for both of us. We can create them together! Yeah! What do ya' say?

Oh, those were the questions that made him feel the coldest. As the wolf queried over the coyote’s strange personal doctrines, the dark fur along the younger’s spine began to prickle uncomfortably. He hated being in the spotlight, especially on something he knew that separated him from the rest of the canine inhabitants of this world. Family. Love. All of those warm things that acted like candles within individuals—illuminating and comforting. The cold, mechanical heart and soul of Snake had never really experienced those things in full. Sure, he had felt the love of a family before (though it seemed it was more impressed upon him rather than him actually experiencing it), but he hadn’t really comprehended it. It confused him. To this coyote, to live was nothing more than to survive. If you made it long enough to have kids, well, congrats! Help them survive a bit, but get rid of them when they could take care of themselves. Otherwise it just made it harder for you to press on.

Snake was not a philosopher, but these were the sprouts of the words that Patriot had strewn in his mind. They had taken root in the youth, blotting out any light that might have reached his distant heart. And now they shaded him completely from what so many thought to be truth.

Daisuke had been so honest with him, so Snake found himself compelled to be truthful with the golden wolf. He knew that the truth of his thoughts would probably distance them—who wouldn’t be wary of someone who didn’t love?—but he had accepted that long since past. “I don’t believe I’m like most other people,” he said, his voice so low that you almost had to focus on picking up the words. “When I lived with my family, I was thankful to them for caring for me, but—I did not…” He broke off. His eyes narrowed underneath his bandanna, and a pain in his heart made him feel as though he was wrong in saying what he was saying. Was it true, or was he just convincing himself that he was an emotionless creature? “I couldn’t bring myself to care for them, to that extent, in return.”

Ah, and there it was—shoved out like a second-grader into the spotlight of a school play, with all of his lines forgotten. And yet it was just in time to roll around to the next subject: war and peace and words and tooth and claw. Another area where Snake was muddled in. Patriot utilized every method to achieve power and strength—violence, fear, anger, bribes—while Laurel had smooth-talked his way out of so many issues that Snake had lost count. He had a mixed view, and he believed it was up to the individual. Some would rather fight out their differences, but others appalled that and would much rather talk it out. He was one in the middle. He believed words were the answer when the other was open to diplomacy, but sometimes the other would not listen, and blood would probably have to be spilled.

“It’s not to say that everyone would rather fight. Many don’t, and will use diplomacy. But not everyone is eloquent enough to talk around things,” Snake said, frowning slightly. He had come in contact with both of those dominations of people before, and he had the scars to prove it in some cases.

And, as for the skulls, “It’s not that they like the skulls particularly. Just that they are a symbol, and taking them down is breaking that. Some would argue that vandalizing these warnings is as bad as trespassing.” He wasn’t sure if he agreed, but whatever. The kid gave a half-hearted shrug at the wolf’s apology for trespassing, though he was very thankful that the wolf seemed as though he wasn’t going to do it again. He had done some good here today, even though he felt as though he shouldn’t have. The strange suffix that Daisuke attached to his name made one of his golden ears twitch slightly with curiosity, but he didn’t ask. Daisuke was interesting enough, and he was sure that it was something that had to do with his homeland. When the wolf began talking about going and finding skulls to have, Snake paused for a moment and then aquiesed, “Sure.” While he felt that being around Daisuke for an extended amount of time would exhaust him, he wouldn’t forsake the chance—the thought of becoming friends with a wolf was crazy to him, but almost appealing in that fashion. Plus, he was sure that Inferni would appreciate it if he could find a skull to put up on a stake himself.

You're Automatic To Me
There's No Real Love In You..

I don’t believe I’m like most other people, the voice was as ghostly...quiet....They were slightly cold...It made Daisuke look at Snake with intent on his face. He awaited the boy's next words. When I lived with my family, I was thankful to them for caring for me, but—I did not…I couldn’t bring myself to care for them, to that extent, in return. he finally continued. The pause seemed to last forever in the world of Daisuke. The boy wondered slightly. He didn't care for them? He was thankful, but nothing more? Daisuke learned to love his parents at a young age because they would break their backs just to let him be happy, and healthy as he grew. His azure orbs sparkled with enthusiasm regardless. His views were different from his own, and Daisuke seemed to be attracted to that. He liked others whom's opinions were different. Daisuke chuckled lightly at the boy's hesitance to even say such a thing. Then maybe you aren't supposed to love them. Maybe your love has just yet to come. he started off, trying to make the boy feel better about the subject. You might just be Automatic as well.. he spoke, his face still holding a small smile on it. Whichever, you should always be prepared. You never know when pups might pop up. Or are ya just waiting for that opportunity to come up and surprise you? he asked, his head cocking slightly to the right. Listen, if you need a last name quick, you can use mine. Ghanjai, or Urahazu for that matter. It's the least I can do for your kindness. he continued, also offering up his last name to sacrifice to the male. Daisuke was too nice. But would he do things like this for anyone? Not so much. He only did it for this male, because the boy had been saving him from certain death that would have come to him if any other member had come and tended to the boy's intrusion.

It’s not to say that everyone would rather fight. Many don’t, and will use diplomacy. But not everyone is eloquent enough to talk around things. the boy had a point. There would be others that were stupid enough to just fight until they are struck to the ground. He really should look deeper into this battle between wolf and coyote. Daisuke would be sure to look into it. He made it his mission mentally. Why would the wolves go after the coyotes? I want to find this treasure of knowledge. thought the boy before he nodded to the other canine. I do have to admit you have a point there. Not everyone wants to play so nice. I'm curious as to the reason the wolves haven't resolved this conflict with words though, so I might have to do some investigating.. spoke the male, before he stroked his chin with his hand, as if he was thinking about it. He actually was thinking about it for once. It was rather interesting about thinking of the different reasons the wolves would hate the coyotes, especially since there wasn't much of a difference between the two species. Atleast...not very much of a difference. Daisuke actually favored the coyote look as far as Snake's obvious differences. Maybe it was just that Snake could have been the cutest of the coyotes. He didn't know, but whatever, he liked the way that Snake looked, for he was adorable in the eyes of Daisuke.

It’s not that they like the skulls particularly. Just that they are a symbol, and taking them down is breaking that. Some would argue that vandalizing these warnings is as bad as trespassing. he explained to Daisuke about the skulls more deeply. Daisuke nodded his head. Then the skulls would be a symbol of Inferni's strength and aggression. he looked at the actual meaning of the skulls than their importance. He was over the importance, and he moved on to the symbol. The heads on the pike did not keep him away, but it probably had done so for wolves whom cared about boundaries. Daisuke didn't care about boundaries, because an adventure did not care about them. If there was an adventure that he needed to have, it would be had and that was that. He could almost loose his life, and say that it was one of the best adventures he had. Sure. Snake took him up on the offer of them two finding some sticks and skulls to have as walking sticks. Or atleast that's what Daisuke would use his as. He didn't need one as far as he knew, but you also never knew when you needed a large stick to beat someone with or to hoist yourself up onto the side of a cliff or anything really.. The two approached the skulls on the pike, and Daisuke did stop to look at them one last time before the two descended out of the territory. Daisuke's finger ran down the muzzle of the skull before he flicked one of the fangs lightly, and then he turned back to Snake.

So, you know of any old kills the pack made? It could help us in the search for skulls... he spoke to the male, his tail wagging gently behind him, and his maw holding that same friendly smile it always had. Daisuke's eyes were also quick to move off the boy for a second as he looked around for a stick that might be good to hold them on. He also looked at the branches on some of the trees. No. Too skinny...Too small..Too fat...Too tall... his eyes moved from several different sticks before he found one that was just tall enough for him. It was also lightly enough to carry, but sturdy enough to not break so easily. Since it was already on the ground, he also didn't even need to break one off a tree. He then looked back to Snake, and smiled. This one will work splendid. Now let's look for one for you... he spoke, tail wagging as he started to walk, looking at the ground with his azure orbs, trying to see if there had been one that was short enough for Snake, but not too short or too skinny so that the male would be able to use it without it breaking right away.

Snake’s flat eyes seemed surprised as he heard Daisuke chuckle at his confession. That wasn’t really the reaction that he was expecting—usually an explanation on his mental situation warranted raised eyebrows and unsure frowns. He listened, somewhat fascinated, at how the golden wolf responded. While Snake had long since resigned himself to being the way he was now forever, the thought of emotions lying within him, locked away like criminals, was something that hadn’t really occurred to him. While he was very skeptical of that, it was something to think about, at least. Of course, any mention of children in relation to this coyote made him frown distinctly. He didn’t understand family when he was the child—the thought of fathering was something that seemed as outlandish to him as launching himself towards the moon. But, as usual, he didn’t have to wait long before the wolf whisked the conversation to a different route. Snake nodded at Daisuke’s offer, though he wasn’t sure he’d use it. He still didn’t believe that he needed a last name.

At the wolf’s musing over the issue of wolves and coyotes and their prolonged struggles against each other, one could almost see the ghost of amusement steal across Snake’s usually-blank face. He could almost see the wolf sneaking about the wolf packs of the area, trying to figure out what the problem was and why everyone couldn’t love one another. Of course, this amusement disappeared when Snake thought briefly that Daisuke could be seen as a coyote-sympathizer and perhaps even targeted for that. He didn’t feel he could stop this other canine, but he thought he’d probably have to keep tabs on him. To make sure he wouldn’t wander off and get himself killed.

The coyote’s olive-green eyes surveyed a particular skull—one that was definitely lupine, as he could see the chipped canine fangs still fastened to it—as Daisuke wondered about the symbolism of them. He spoke up, “No, I wouldn’t say aggression.” He frowned. “The coyotes of Inferni do not go out of their way to be aggressive towards wolves, from what I know—only when trespassing comes into play. Which seems to happen a lot. So they seem to be more symbols for… protectiveness more than anything.” In this wolf-ruled world near Halifax, the coyotes had to defend everything they could scrounge from their bigger cousins.

After this, their search for skulls officially began. Daisuke asked if Snake knew about where any recent kills made by Inferni would be, but he only got a frown and a shake of the head from the bandanna-wearing boy. “No, I don’t know much about that—I’m still pretty new here.” He followed Daisuke now as they wandered towards the more wooded areas of southwestern Inferni, looking for branches to serve as walking sticks or stakes. The wolf found one his size and good enough for his weight while Snake continued searching. After a moment of searching he grunted, reaching down and lifting a stick that was short enough for his coyote stature, and that had a fork near the top. It was broad enough to support some weight, which was good enough for him, and it had not been rotted by the recent downpours. “Finding the skulls will be the hard part now.” He pondered briefly, the moisture about him redolent of the recent rains. “Maybe we should try the lower areas. It’s been flooding in some places—perhaps some creatures got stuck and drowned.” It was a pretty morbid thought, searching for dead bodies to scavenge skulls from. But these were Luperci, not humans.

There's No Real Love In You..

A simple nod was all her got out of the last name. He would consider it. Or...Atleast that's what Daisuke thought. He would be letting the coyotes muttle the blood of the Ghanjai and Urahazu lines because of this, but then again, Daisuke didn't see much of a difference between the two species, so he really didn't care. They Coyotes looked so much like the wolves, and the small differences were just that. Small differences. Daisuke had seen small wolves like Snake, but his being a totally different species was slightly confusing to him. Sure, at one point he had met a maned wolf, but he still didn't understand that she was a completely different species. He simply thought that she was from somewhere exotic. He treated Snake as if he was a wolf. He simply didn't discriminate. He liked difference, because it made the world so much more interesting, and there was nothing more interesting than the people you meet while on your epic adventures. Snake was something different, but all the more interesting. Daisuke liked it.

No, I wouldn’t say aggression. The coyotes of Inferni do not go out of their way to be aggressive towards wolves, from what I know—only when trespassing comes into play. Which seems to happen a lot. So they seem to be more symbols for… protectiveness more than anything. Then they had some justice. They had brains, they knew how to handle things. They would come in large numbers when their lands were invaded. Daisuke still felt some injustice against the loners. If one did not smell of a pack, but rather just the earth, why attack them? Daisuke didn't know. There was a thoughtful look on his face, and the chewing of his bottom lip, him simply trying to think as hard as he could before the thought would just be lost forever. His fang bit down just hard enough to make his lip bleed, and him to give out a surprised yip. He didn't expect himself to do it, and he put his finger to his lip. Ouchie... he whined, his audits pushing down on his head. Daisuke whimpered lightly and the thought that had been on his brain had disappeared. He shrugged without really bothering to try and remember what he was thinking about.

No, I don’t know much about that—I’m still pretty new here. he spoke back to Daisuke. So now they had to go on a treasure hunt for the skulls. Daisuke let a smile return to his face as he then looked to his stick. Snake too was able to find one that was small enough for him to carry, and not ruined by the rain. Daisuke observed the difference between the choices. Though there wasn't much of a choice, Daisuke had gotten one that had a wider base at the top, more suited to mounting a skull and the treasures he found with it. While, Snake's was split at the top. Would be break off one of the splits? Daisuke didn't know, but he was kind of curious about it, so he thought that he'd ask anyways. But before he could get the words together, Snake spoke again. Finding the skulls will be the hard part now. Maybe we should try the lower areas. It’s been flooding in some places—perhaps some creatures got stuck and drowned. The boy had pointed out that there had been a lot of flooding in the area, and some of them might have drown. That meant that they would have to clean the skulls themselves. Maybe have a snack. He hadn't had deer in a long time. He licked his lips at the thought. Yeah, yeah, that's an awesome idea. Let's get going! he spoke as he picked up his stick, and started to run off, making sure to keep within range of Snake, so he wouldn't fall behind, or so he wouldn't fall behind if the male had been running faster. With a warrior father, and a runner of a mother, speed and strength were something that Daisuke did not lack. He had been trained to be light on the feet, but solid as stone as did most of the Urahazu children. Kaetel and Ryn had received some training, but Daisuke, since he had stayed around after their father and mother had been assassinated, he had extensive training, all up until Pachi had left him to fend for himself.

Snake new that many wolves—and some coyotes, even—were naturally geared towards loners. While coyotes grouping up together and living in “packs” was generally a newer phenomenon (as coyotes are naturally solitary, or travel in pairs), it had been the staple of the wolves’ success for hundreds of years. To those that are born in the same pack that they will die in, a lone wolf is a frightening thing. They speak of a life that the pack-born wolf would never know—one of a haunting loneliness and yet the most resounding sense of freedom that the wild can manufacture. Snake remembered Patriot speaking harshly on lone wolves. He called them vagrants—when he didn’t call them filth. For a Luperci who believed in power in numbers, as Patriot had been, one who stands alone and with his own power was a frightening thing. That was one of Patriot’s flaws.

The coyote didn’t know what had caused Daisuke to yelp and whimper in pain, but he assumed it was something like stepping on something sharp. He looked over with vague concern for his companion, but discerned that it was nothing after a moment. Inferni was a dangerous milieu, and if it wasn’t the inhabitants that you had to worry about, sometimes it was the landscape itself.

Which brought them to their current quest. As both of the boys had now gathered decent enough sticks to use for staffs or pikes or whatever, they needed to find some skulls. While the thought of scavenging a meal from a waterlogged deer was somewhat revolting to Snake, his growling stomach couldn’t ignore the thought. He kept up as best as he could with Daisuke, but the coyote was built for power, not for speed. He lagged behind somewhat, but, in the end, they both managed to get to the low country on the borders of Inferni and Arachnea’s Revenge. The trees here were partially flooded, giving it the appearance of a swamp. Immediately Snake was met with the smell of death—that sickly-sweet scent of decay. His face screwed up slightly, and he looked to Daisuke. Something in his olive glance seemed to say that this was the place.

“This way,” he murmured, his keen nose triangulating where the strangely alluring scent was coming from. He navigated through trees and undergrowth, travelling the higher path where the water was not so deep. He knew that going in willy-nilly would probably spell death for them as well. The loam and dirt that had once made up the forest floor was now mud that would suck one down to the depths. Which was probably what added to the fates of the two deer that he came across after a moment’s looking.

His cold olive eyes looked over the scene and, if one looked really closely, you could almost see a glint of remorse in his flat gaze. It was a mother doe and her fawn. The mother looked as though she had gotten caught in the deeper part of the pool in front of them during the rain, and had drowned. The fawn, not knowing what to do, got stuck in the mud closer to the bank and had struggled until it fell, exhausted, and asphyxiated due to the water and mud. It even pricked unfamiliarly at Snake’s metal heart. He looked back to Daisuke, his face expressionless.

You're Automatic To Me
There's No Real Love In You..

The two ran in silence. Both tongues had been withdrawn. Daisuke had the upper hand while running, somehow being a few steps ahead of the male, unintentionally. His oceanic orbs kept themselves three steps ahead of himself, making sure the path was clear, though he had to vault over some logs that had been in his way. The coyote was right behind him, he could almost feel the breath of the male on his neck. Well..Not really, since the boy had been shorter than Daisuke. But either way, he could tell that the boy was more on the heavier side because of his heavy steps. He could feel them, and practically see them when he looked back to see how close the male was. His mother and father both had taught him to be light on his feet, no matter how heavy you might get. This was the reason how he was able to adjust to the change from Lupus to Secui to Luperci. The boy smiled lightly, he wanted to spar with the boy one day, just to see who was better, him or his cousin. It would train both the body and mind, and it would be fun. He had sparred with Pachi plenty of times since they left Zirenta, and it was a fun way to let go of some of that energy. Plus, it wasn't violence, it was all just a game. Plus, if the two fought in Optime, it'd give Daisuke more of a chance to actually get used to this form (since he had not really had a fight in this form, even if it was just a game). Daisuke thought about it as they ran, though also making sure that he wouldn't be too distracted by his thoughts, by watching his step.

Once they had gone deep enough into the country side, the boys found themselves in a bog-type place. The golden wolven had remembered what the swamplands were like. This reminded him of it. He snorted lightly. They'd probably be getting really dirty with this one, but that frown turned into a giggle as he thought about it in a positive way. That meant he had a reason to find the ocean once again, and swim to his hearts content. He just had to remember that he wasn't to follow Snake back into Inferni. Daisuke would more than likely walk Snake back to the borders, but then he'd have to stop slightly far off, and then travel in the opposite direction so that he didn't pass those damn pikes again. His azure orbs looked to the Olive eyes of the other male. This way. was all the boy said, and then he followed the boy through the thicket, something that was more like the damn swamp, and even more annoying because he was taller then normal. He mentally cursed himself for being turned into a damn luperci, and he was too frustrated to change into his half-ling, or even his lupus form. Plus he was trying to keep up with the smaller male, whom seemed to be having an easier time with it. Lucky. thought the male before they finally made it to where there were two dead deer. They were ten times lucky that there were two and not just one.. This raised the skepticism of his necklace's luck. I told you that necklace was lucky. he spoke, chuckling lightly before he took the liberty to start the excavation by going in first. His body slunk forward, passing the fawn by first simply because it would be easier to get it out, and Snake needed a project. So Daisuke went for the mother doe, and once he had gotten to it, he bent down and grabbed it by it's neck. Just by tugging it once, he could feel that in the pool, it was stuck. It had somehow gotten it's foot stuck under something. Well, he knew how she died. She got stuck under a root or something that was on the ground, and she drowned. She's stuck.. he growled lightly, before he looked back to Snake. All we need is her head... he spoke, more to himself than anything before he looked back to the deer. He let himself concentrate to where he shifted back down to his secui form. He was rather large, and almost frightening looking. He looked vicious without doing much of anything. His body went back down to all fours, and his fangs showed slightly. He was still weird about being in his Secui form, and shifting to it was slightly hard for him still because he had been mostly running around in his Optime or lupus forms.

The male finished shifting moments after he began, and once he had been completely shifted to his Secui form, he aggressively grabbed the neck of the deer with his own fangs. The male's fangs sunk into the flesh of the deer, and the taste of stale blood entered his maw. He let out a growl, but it was more of a growl to the fact that this deer was actually stuck within the muck and it probably would have been easier to just chew through the neck than to actually pull the deer out. His mind caught up with that fact, and he then started to gnaw on it. With every time he chomped back down on the doe's neck, it made a sound, the sound of flesh between sharp daggers that were his teeth. A few times he bite down onto the neck and started to shake his head violently to get something to happen, and when he heard the neck snap he then started to gnaw at that part of the neck. Once the bone was broken, it was much easier since at that point all he needed to do was get rid of the flesh and arteries and that wasn't much of a problem. It probably would have been harder if it was a fresh kill, because then he'd have to worry about blood splattering all over him. Since it had been dead for a good 48 hours (he assumed because it was starting to bloat) the blood had stopped running through the body completely. Daisuke ripped at the flesh, in the most feral of ways. You could tell he was not civilized at all. He was feral, and he most likely always would be because that was the way he was born. He was raised feral as well. So all in all, he'd remain that way until the day he died. He tore the flesh, and continued to do so persistently before he triumphantly got all the way through it, and it fell to the water. He was quick to pick it up, and throw it towards the shore before he started to change back into his Optime form. It took him a few minutes to do this, only because his body was tired of changing back and forth by now. Once his body finished changing, he stood up, and took his bare staff from the perch he had put it on. He stood the rest of the way up, only now realizing how dirty he got because of the struggle. He looked at his hands and feet. He shook off as much of the mud as he could before he started to move back towards the shore where they would have a better time trying to skin it.

His left hand picked the head of the doe as he moved towards the bank where it was dry. He looked to Snake and smiled lightly. She was actually stuck. Like under something, so I figured since all we need is the head, then I might as well just take the head. Some birds will be happy we left the rest of her anyways. he spoke to him, his bloodied and muddy maw twisted in a smile. You could say that the boy was merciless when it came to doing things that he wanted to do, and even deranged since he felt almost no sympathy for the doe and her fawn whom had perished. It was their own fault, and plus, they were prey, the only prey he could not take down by himself, so he did not hunt them. But for them to be here, stuck, dead, was just plan luck. Daisuke then went to the top of where they once where and he sat down. He waited for Snake before he started to skin it though.

Quite unlike many Luperci, Snake had actually be taught extensively in fighting in his Optime form. Canines were very taken with their natural weapons—teeth, claws, and sheer brawn—and were therefore usually drawn to their Lupus or Secui forms. But Patriot (and Snake’s mother, as she learned from New Haven’s Boss as well) had ‘rediscovered’ a form of fighting that humans themselves had engineered. They fought using their fists, arms, knees, legs to find the vulnerable weaknesses of the muscles and nerves. Sometimes it was even more effective than simply tearing at an opponent—especially if you weren’t exactly in the mood for murder.

Regardless, they soon stood over the corpses of the two deer, and Daisuke immediately took claim to the mother doe. Snake watched as the wolf shifted into his Secui form—the way that he kept within it just long enough, and seemed somewhat awkward in his own skin, made the coyote feel as though he wasn’t as familiar with that particular form—and literally chewed the head off of the doe. It didn’t bother him in the least, but it definitely made him notice Daisuke’s own approach: straight-forward and blunt. Hey, if it worked for him. But Snake, while emotionally flat, was a little more subtle.

He walked around the sinkhole until he was near the side where the fawn had gotten stuck. It’s pathetic head was almost the only part of its body not submersed, minus its neck and part of a shoulder. His face completely stoic, Snake reached behind his back to where his knife was kept—a knife that he had actually been given by his mother. He took the young deer’s head by its ears and cut cleanly through its neck, severing it much the same way as Daisuke had, but at least he didn’t have the taste of sour blood in his mouth. Without glancing at the golden wolf, who set to a similar task, the coyote began to extract the skull from the remainder of the head with the bloody knife, his eyes suddenly focused on a task at hand. He didn’t speak further—it was so often in life to which conversation just seemed to be maunder, and nothing else.

OOC: You ninja-ed me. You sneaky devil. So sorry for the terrible wait, dear.

------------------------------------------------------------

Silence. The deadly Silence. Silence for him was so much different than the silence of the other luperci. Daisuke never sat in silence. If it was silent around, then he sat in a world that was nothing but synthesized sounds and beats that his mind would make up on the spot. Then the voices would come. They would sing into his audits. The sirens of the ocean. He knew that it was her whom spoke, whom sung to him. She was what saved him from the silence. Because in silence comes death. Afterall, once he saw his brother's fangs around his mother's neck, she had fallen silent, her tongue blue, and her eyes lifeless. That was his fear. His fear was the Silence of Death. Daisuke noticed the boy's silence. Was it the same for Snake? Was Snake's silence music, or was it the silence that came with death? Daisuke's ridge spiked up. Every hair on the back of his neck rising. Mother... the thought came through his mind. The silence of the dead. It almost brought him to tears. His hand dropped the skull, and his hands went over his audits. Not the Death Silence. No, never. the male tried to comfort himself before what he believed to be the ocean's voice had returned to his audits, and the beat continued.

His eyes looked to the doe. Her lifeless eyes looking at Daisuke. She had experienced the death silence. When the world around her went dark, and lifeless. When it all went to silence. His hand reached out and grabbed the skull once more before he sliced the flesh with his claws; he started between her two tall ears and worked down her forehead and muzzle. He grabbed the skin and dug his fingers underneath it, pulling it from the skull. He used most of his strength to pull the flesh and fur from the skull before having to take out her eyes, and take off her large ears. He did so, as one would describe as merciless once more. He took each body part and put it in a pile next to him, He didn't know what he was going to do with the extra stuff, but he figured he might find something to do with it later on so he wasn't quick to dispose of it.

Oceanic orbs looked to Snake. You're doing good over there, yeah? he asked, his fingers continuing to work, while his eyes were on the other male. He just couldn't do the silence like Snake could. It was too much for him. If he could just get the male to do yes or no questions, then that would be awesome too. When Daisuke thought of Silence, he thought of death. Death was Daisuke's ultimate fear. Because once you were dead, there was nothing but silence. And Silence was his other fear. Silence lead to Death, and death lead to eternal silence.

The Name's Daisuke Ghanjai/Urahazu. You are? Only a genius works in coexistence with their mind and now I dance away, singing a tune that only I can hear.

Heh, the first time I read that over, I thought the final few lines were included and was like, "Why is he introducing himself again and dancing away?" >>;

Very much on the contrary, Snake’s soul was one that sat still—in silence. Whether animated or immobile, the young coyote only rarely felt the stirrings of thought or (on extremely rare circumstances) emotion within him, and that was usually only in forced conversation with others. He didn’t need much. He needed food, water, and a shelter to continuing living, and that’s what he achieved for himself. Joining Inferni had changed that slightly; he had to adjust to become a working part of a group. Ever since the leaders had seen some kind of potential in him and given him the Hastati—or “warrior in-training”—title, he had been working hard at it. He ran, he sparred (in all of his forms, for you never knew), and he patrolled consistently. But in all of these actions, he was quiet. He needed not to talk, especially since he rarely had anyone to speak to. The world went by very fast for Snake, when he seemed to remain quiescent all the while.

The sandy-colored coyote was busy at his work, so he only somewhat noticed Daisuke dropping the skull he held, but he merely thought it an act of clumsiness—he didn’t pay much heed. Time passed not as clicks of a clock for him, but in the movements of his knife, efficiently stripping the skull of all the trappings of life. Skin, fur, eyes, ears, they all fell, and every aspect that the skull lost, the less and less Snake could imagine it ever having been alive. With that strange thought becoming eminent in his mind, he finished, stripping the last amount of flesh that he thought he could at this time—he would clean it up a little bit more. As Daisuke asked him how he was doing, Snake nodded before glancing up, seeing that Daisuke had done similarly to him (except minus the aid of a blade) and seemed finished.

“What are you going to do with it?” he asked, though more out of vague curiosity than any necessity of conversation. Snake knew that he was going to take the stick and the skull to the borders and continue the fringe of the territory. He didn’t have any personal attachment to it, so it was much more logical to the coyote to contribute to the pack’s defense.
