Quote:Her tired, yellow eyes perked at the sight of something she usually didn’t see. There were actually a few horses around… and she hadn’t seen one since her sister and mother awhile ago. Her ears flickered at the movement as each horse seemed to move by with ease. There didn’t seem to be a care in the world for those folks. Yet, little did they know that a predator was watching them in the shadows. Once they made a wrong move, she’d dare out and play around with such easy prey. She lowered her head and let her pink tongue lick her chops. The first one that she spotted was some random black stallion trotting around like he was the King of the World. She rolled her eyes at the idiotic actions of horses… they never seemed to impress her anyway. A deep sigh escape through her lips, but as quietly as she possibly could. The huntress had learned that any loud noises threw her plan right off course. She had to admit that they were intelligent in some ways. There language was even hard for her to understand at some points, but what really threw her off was how to even pronounce the goddamn words. Therefore, they never understood her… so; she just gave up with even trying. Speech just became another easy trait to throw away for her.

Blinking for a few seconds, her eyes narrowed as her target changed from the black stallion to a hyperactive, oddly colored… zebra-legged stallion. Now, the sight of him just made her tilt her fine head to the side in confusion. What in the world was he? A horse? Some Mythical creature? Would he taste good? Is he worth hunting…? Her white tail swayed much like a cat getting ready to pounce. Those cat-like eyes never left the odd stallion as he had continued to blot around. It seemed that she wasn’t the only one who had their attention on the stallion either… as another misfit colored horse appeared. Her lips clenched together before she let out a low, hissing sound. She couldn’t believe the nerve of that mare who even dared to flirt with her prey. He would be good as dead once she set her eyes on him… so why the hell would any stuck-up bitch whimper out pathetic words to a ghost? The answer was beyond her as she gave her tail another flick, but this time in annoyance. The huntress wasn’t going to let another take her prey without one hell of a good excuse. Her ears pointed backwards as her legs started to move forward. Now, the mare had started to stalk towards the two… trying to be as silent as possible. Hopefully it would work.

Once she was hidden behind a few trees and brush a few feet away from the two, she let out another hissing sound. It was her own unique sound that seemed to either freak others out or simply tick them off. Either way worked well for her as they were either scared or enraged… which created less time for the idiotic creatures to even think. Her head lowered again, but she kept an eye on both of the horses. The mare was named as her enemy and the stallion was her prey. Maybe the grey-blue mare would become another snack for her… who knew? She wanted to let out a snort, but held her breath as the grey-blue mare started to be a stuck-up chatterbox. Annoyance was written on the huntress’s face as she gave that tail another wave. This next movement had to be done perfectly without a single mistake… or she was sure that they would see her. She moved around the brush as quietly as possible… closing in behind the stallion like a small lioness. With a single movement, she lashed out her neck and gave the stallion a nip on the rump before letting out another growl at the other mare… almost stating that she had claimed the stallion as her meal. Hell, she wasn’t going to let such a meal go to waste. “Phhhh… fff… nnnaaattooocccch”

Quote:Damn it… He took in a deep breath as his eyes flickered around for any sign of light that he could at least see to jump over. There wasn’t anything he could think of… the fear of being hurt just clouded his mind over. This fear, he hated it. The Arid couldn’t understand how he just couldn’t throw it out of his mind. It just kept sneaking onto him when he didn’t need it. God, somehow he wished that Ritsuka hadn’t jumped over before him. He somehow wished that the kid was still at his side so this creeping fear wouldn’t come back to haunt him. How many times had he had this fear over his two years? A lot more than he really needed it! It started when he was a pup… a helpless pup that had to watch every minute of his brother getting beaten. Trig shook his head, trying to get the thought out of his mind. Yet, it just came back to haunt him anyway.

“YOU LITTLE BRAT, YOU WENT OUT WITHOUT TELLING EITHER OF US?!” His father roared out at his older navy brother. Trig just stared with wide eyes as he watched Leon getting attacked by a wolf twice his size. This… this wolf couldn’t be his father! No, he was just some freak who picked on others smaller than him! Trigger had already had that in his mind before anything else. His mouth was always glued together. Not a word could come out of it, even if he wanted to scream at his father to stop. His body shaking as he had turned his hazel eyes to stare at his mother. She didn’t care if her mate was attacking her pup… she just laid there not caring… ignoring it all. Trig couldn’t understand! He wanted to start sobbing and begging for her to stop him. Yet, he couldn’t get those words out. The young pup couldn’t even protect his older brother who had always protected him. It was all his fault… it was all his fault!

His mind raced as he took in the memory with each detail still clean in his mind. He wanted to break down in a sob right there by just remembering all the pain his brother went through. Sure, it was kind of weird for him to have a brother complex, but Leon was all he had at the moment. His mother never seemed to care and all his father did was yell and scream at them for no reason.  They just didn’t care! The Arid’s body shook much like how it did when he was as a pup. There wasn’t any reason for him to be scared right now of his father… no, his father was long gone. He didn’t have to worry! Calm down… calm down! Please just calm down! He begged himself over and over in his mind, but it really just didn’t seem like his body wanted to listen. It was a mind of its own it seemed.

"P-Please, Trigger...Come on...please..."

He was listening… listening to ever word the kid spoke out and even shouted out louder than he had heard him before. It just seemed like Ritsuka wouldn’t have been the type to just shout out like that… he was so quite beforehand. What was Trig even doing?! He was worrying a kid over this and even had to let him beg for him to come over. The plan that the kid had was a smart one too, but also simple… Trigger was lucky he wasn’t all in this alone or maybe he’d be stuck here till the water washed him out. Oh, he was just plain lucky for all the wolves he’s met so far, but this kid just seemed to stand out still. He had some heart and even reminded Trig of himself. A light smile began to appear on his dark lips as he started to calm down. Taking in another deep breath and trying to relax before moving a muscle. This would be a one-shot chance at getting the distance right when the lightning hit. He had to be ready to take this risk, after all… Ritsuka seemed to need him.

His legs stretched into his full high as he gave a confident nod to himself. I’ll make it… I had to! The Arid’s paws felt the edge of the black rock as the lightning started to kick in again. With the strike come out, his forelegs stretched forward as his hindlegs pushed off into a dramatic leap that was actually too high for the ledge that he was planning on landing on. He pathetic for a minute before swing his body a bit in the air as the rain pelted down on him. It didn’t take long before he felt the cold black stone under his paws again. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he glanced over at the next jump ahead of him. It wouldn’t take very far and he’d be at Ritsuka’s side again. He wasn’t hurt either! There wasn’t any pain rushing into his veins. No, he was perfectly okay. There wasn’t any reason to worry!

Taking another deep breath again, he waited for the lightning to strike out before taking a small leap onto the ledge right next to Ritsuka. His breathing heavy after all the work with the cold rain coming down heavily now… panting for a second, he turned his head to the kid who basically was his little hero. He wanted to take him home with him! To the Glades and he was sure that everyone would accept such a cutie like he was. Trig would probably beg Taliesin just to keep the kid around… he’d take care of him and everything! Oh, what was he thinking? This kid could have a home and family for all he knew. Plus, it wasn’t like the kid would just go off with him. Trig was just a simple stranger… a pretty cowardish one at that too. Either way, he gave the kid a goofy smile. "Excuse my French, but kid… no, Ritsuka, you are one hell of a hero! I wish I could kidnap you and be the bad guy just to keep you around and safe my ass all the time. Haha! Pretty selfish of me, no?" He continued his soft chuckle and gave the kid a nuzzle… of course, hoping that the Aerkin didn’t mind.

Quote:This kid… he kept surprising poor Trigger hear over and over. The Arid was surprised at himself over the fact that he could still stand without drooling all over his paws. Maybe it was just the fact that they were in a life and death situation that had just scared it out of him to do anything else but focus. He couldn’t make a mistake here… no, no… this depended on not only his life, but the poor kid’s too. Though, he wished that he had eyes like the Aerkin so he could at least see to try and get out of this mess. Yet, all he could see was nothing unless the lightning struck. Trig felt blind and as if there were needles every where he turned… so if he moved, he’d get hurt or make a mistake. Two things he never wanted to happen, just might happen today in one event. That really wasn’t very good standers.

He wasn’t shocked this time when the kid actually refused to fly off, but he could understand why. Those broken wings of his probably would do more harm than anything else. Shifting a bit, his paws touched the edge of the rock and he crouched down… much like a cat getting ready to pounce. Yet Trigger just looked down to see how much time they had before the place was flooded with the salty water. The water had never harmed him before, so this really was new to him. Before, he and his brother (Leon, if you forgot his name) always played around in the water. Of course, he could never swim like Leon did since he was a Feral Irrigokin… and Trigger here was just a dried up fish without any gills. There wasn’t much he could do which was starting to raise panic in his own mind. Not good, not good!

Those words kept repeating in his mind as he heard the kid speak once again. This time, he actually introduced himself back to Trig. The Arid’s brow rose a bit as he heard the name… it was unique and something he’s never even heard of. But, that just made him like the kid even more. Being unique with a unique name was the best thing the world can start you off with. He grinned again as he nodded his head towards Ritsuka in a greeting. "Well then, nice to meet you... Ritsuka Koichi." His tongue rolled out his name like he always did when meeting someone new. It wasn’t that he wanted to just say ‘nice to meet you’, but the fact that he wanted to give the face a name. Plus, he wanted to make sure his pronunciation of the name was okay and not something completely off course. It sounded like he pronounced the name pretty well, maybe a bit bad in the accent… but he couldn’t help that with this accent of his own.

His eyes widened in horror as the Aerkin moved off the rock and into the darkness. He couldn’t see what the kid had seen… it just freaked him out even more. His breath started to pick up and his heart rate increased as well as he watched the black pup fade off. This made him worry… made him scared that something would happen. He watched from his crouch on the rock and even jumped up when he heard a popping noise from one of the kid’s wings. Trig wanted to scream out for him to stop as he couldn’t see anything other than black. Everything was black and he couldn’t see it… he couldn’t see what Ritsuka saw! He wanted to; he wanted to have the vision of a Night Aerkin even if it was just for a second. Good god, he just wanted to make sure that the kid was okay.

The Arid’s ears perked as he heard the soft voice of Ritsuka just a bit far away. He could hear the kid’s panting too. A sigh of relief escaped his lips, but he froze when he heard the words of the Aerkin. Come on? What does he mean? Is there some kind of ledge? Where? I can’t see… I can’t see! Panic started to set in as he glanced around, looking for the sight of this ledge that the kid must be able to see. Trig felt a pang in his heart telling him just to stay there… that he shouldn’t move. It told him that he would get hurt if he moved even an inch. It was probably true since he didn’t have those wings or eyes of a Night Aerkin. He was just a plain ole’ Arid Irrigokin without any special features… just a fish out of water… and a scared one at that.

"I… I c-can’t, Kid. I don’t have the eyes or wings that you have. I can b-barely s-see…" He shook his head, clinging to the rock below him. There wasn’t a way he’d move until he could actually see. Trigger knew he’d hurt himself if he even tried to jump onto the ledge. He’d fall… he’d fall and land into the salty raging water below. The Arid just couldn’t do that, he didn’t want to be hurt. He hated being hurt and he’d do anything to make sure he wasn’t going to be.
