ooc: all welcome. quartz shoreline.

The storm had come again. Xeris had decided to spend the day on the beach yet again, contemplating, and time seemed to have passed quicker than she could ever have imagined. The sky was darkened now not only by the approaching night but by the looming gray clouds overhead as well. There was the occasional distant bright burst of lightning among the clouds or a rumble of thunder, but aside from that the Quartz Shoreline beach was still and peaceful--the calm before the storm.

Perched upon a medium-sized boulder, Xeris looked out over the sea. She let her long legs hang down, every now and then feeling the slight dampness of the sea spray against her fur. For the first time, the white-furred female had noticed something odd. She was unsure as to why she hadn't seen it before; that is, the lighthouse across a small stretch of ocean. She had seen the lighthouse at Phoenix Valley, but never this one. It towered from the island, dark and gloomy much like the sky. Xeris wondered what it would be like if the lighthouse still worked. Perhaps it would add a bit of optimism to such a depressing evening.

Pendzez felt like he wanted to get out of the packlands for a while, just to get some fresh air, not that there wasn't enough outside his cabin, within the lands. He wanted to to get out and go for a little trip to Quartz Shoreline, not far outside the borderline of Phoenix Valley. Pendzez remembered that there were some memories here along the shoreline, however he didn't remember when they were. They seemed to be a while ago, he couldn't remember when. He was so concentrated on Xeris and the pack. He remained with today's events.

Pendzez saw the light house, a different one from the one in Phoenix Valley. He wondered if it still worked like it used to. The humans were interesting on how they would operate the light in the lighthouse. He caught a scent, but he knew who it was. Xeris, his mate was nearby. Looking around, he saw her on a boulder. He seemed happy to see her, his beloved mate. There was actually something he wanted to give her. "Xeris!"

Xeris concentrated on the roar of the waves, her eyes closed. She was expecting the rain to come at any moment. The wind was picking up. She could smell the rain, the oncoming storm. The area around her was so entrancing, and it seemed for a moment that nothing else would matter or happen. She was completely distracted until she suddenly heard a voice through the noise of the waves and the wind.

Opening her golden eyes, Xeris turned to look down to the source of the familiar voice. It was Pendzez. She smiled, happy to see her mate here. "Pendzez," she said happily. "It's good to see you." She slipped from her perch on the boulder to walk over to him, reaching out her arms to embrace him. She wondered why he was here; perhaps he'd chosen just to take a walk like she had. She had things to talk to him about, but was this the right time? Hopefully the storm wouldn't ruin the situation for them.

Pendzez held Xeris in his arms in an embrace as she embraced him. His hand moved round her back as he felt the warmth of her pelt upon him. She had such beauty bestowed upon her that he only notice it. Maybe the spirits made it to be. That he and Xeris were to be together. He didn't really care if it was what the spirits predicted. He just wanted this moment to never end.

Pendzez pulled away slightly to look into her golden orbs. Pendzez just admired how she looked every time he saw her. So, what was she doing out here? Maybe for a trip? "What brings you here, today?" he asked happily.

Xeris smiled, feeling relaxed and happy in her mate's arms. It felt so good to be with him. She remembered the day they had first met, and the day they had become mates; the happy memories made her smile even broader. Pendzez leaned his head back to look at her, and their eyes met for a moment. He asked what she was doing here; well, it was fairly simple really. She'd taken up the habit of going for daily walks along the beaches of the nearby area; it calmed her mind. But she didn't want to tell him that, didn't want him to worry that there was something going on.

"Just going for a bit of a walk," she replied. "I love walks on the beach. It's so peaceful here." And it was, even with the storm approaching in the distance. "I'm guessing you had the same idea?" Xeris asked, her happy smile still worn on her face. Perhaps it was fate that had brought the two of them here together again. Or maybe he knew that she'd be around here somewhere. Either way, she was just happy to see him.

Pendzez remembered when they first met and when they became mates. He was so pleased then as he was now. He had a beautiful mate. He was a noble, a spirit king, but he just would like to be a normal wolf, with his destiny out of the way for now. He wanted to stay in this life till the spirits come calling for him, with his love.

He politely listened to Xeris as she explained why she was out here. A walk was always a good thing, it could help with any troubling thoughts or just need of to be alone for a while. "Yeah, I like walks as well. Helps clear the mind." He then looked over to the storm that was far, but was heading this direction. "Storms coming. Should we take cover?"

Xeris continued to smile. The two of them were obviously like-minded, having both come to the beach for some relaxation. Pendzez had spoken to her before about fate, and she could see where he was coming from now. If this was the way fate was taking her, she wanted to continue on this path for as long as possible. A distant thunderclap sounded in the distance, interrupting her thoughts momentarily, and she turned to look out over the ocean at the oncoming clouds.

"Where should we go?" she asked in response to Pendzez's question. She honestly hadn't explored the territory around here much other than the beach and a bit of the forest. The deepest forest exploration she'd done was in the Dampwoods, and that had led to her conflict with Kaena...but now wasn't the time to think about that. Xeris didn't want to get rained on, so she would stick to the topic at hand. Perhaps her mate knew the area better and could find them some safe and dry shelter. Despite how much she loved the beach, on a stormy day it was not a very good place to be.

Pendzez remembered talking to Xeris about one before. He told her that fate can be unpredictable, you never know what it's gonna come next around the bend of fate. Xeris didn't know that fate was gonna lead her to Phoenix Valley, she didn't know fate was gonna lead her into Pendzez's embraces. Pendzez didn't even know who fate flows and run courses.

Pendzez looked around for any caves or huts that would cover them from the rain. He then spotted a small cave near the beach. "Over there," he said as he pointed it out. It was indeed a small cavern, but it would be big enough for the two of them.

ooc: sorry for lateness. also tomorrow is our post for puppies day~!

Xeris looked off into the direction that her mate pointed, and spotted a small cave. She'd never been in it before. But it looked safe enough, and besides, there were few things that she was afraid of when she had Pendzez beside her. "Okay," she said. "Let's go." She began walking through the sand, looking back to make sure the other white wolf was following; she didn't want to get too far ahead of him. They could go in together.

The cave was a bit dark. The white fur of the two wolves was one of the few things that could be seen inside. Xeris frowned, turning to Pendzez. "Do you think we could make it lighter in here?" Surely Pendzez was more resourceful than she was; hopefully he would have some way of starting a fire or the like. Other than the darkness, though, the cave seemed like a very good place to stay during the storm. It was very sturdy, and the sandy floor was comfortable. It would be big enough for the two of them, and they would stay dry.

OOC: It's cool. Awesome. Smile

Pendzez followed Xeris to the cave, walking through the soft sand. He watched Xeris as she took head man to the cave. He wanted to remain by her side, but for where they were going to, it seemed safe enough for the two. It was only gonna be the two in the cave. Besides, the area had no scent of any other wild animal or wolf, so it was gonna safe.

Pendzez made his way into the cave, finding that it was a bit dark. He then got an idea. "I'll be right back. Stay here." He then rushed to the forest area, grabbing some sticks and small branches, anything that burns. When he had enough, he returned to the cave, placing the sticks in a pile against the wall. Grabbing some little stones, he made a circle, placing some sticks from the pile inside the circle, using two other stones as a flint. Scrapping the stones together, he eventually got a spark and the sticks caught fire, which lit up the cave. He looked up at Xeris "A fire for my lady," he said as he smiled.

ooc: Puppies got approved! yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Xeris watched Pendzez walk out of the cave for a moment. In the dark of the cave she felt alone and isolated; it was almost a little scary. But thankfully, her mate was not gone for too long. She smiled when he came back, carrying some various materials. She watched as he carefully arranged the stones and sticks on the cave floor, using them to make a fire. Her smile widened upon seeing the dancing orange flames before her; the warmth and light of the fire was comforting. "Thank you," she said with a smile, moving to sit closer to her mate.

And now it was quiet, with the exception of the crackling flames. Xeris became lost in thought for a moment. She figured that, of all people, Pendzez should be the one to know what she was thinking about. "Pendzez," she said softly, turning her golden eyes to the male. She thought some more, remembering what had happened between the two of them just a few days ago. And she'd come to some...realizations since then. And she figured that he should know. "I..." she took a deep breath. "I think I'm pregnant."

Pendzez felt better when Xeris sat down next to him, moving in closer. Pendzez put his arm around her, pulling her close to him, holding her as both arms went around her waist. He then nuzzled her neck, breathing in her scent once more. With his arms, he wanted to help her in her troubles, to protect for from dangers, to hug her every night. He wanted to enjoy these moments that they have.

Pendzez then felt that something was on Xeris' mind as she tried to say something. All of a sudden, he heard that word that he wasn't expecting to hear, however he knew that it was great news. "Xeris..." His heart was pounding fast as he tried to think of the right words to say. "That's greats. That's wonderful news." He began to hug her tighter, moving to cross his arms upwards along her chest.

It felt so good to be here, in her mate's arms. His warmth, amplified by the heat from the fire, was just what she needed to relax and feel good. She closed her eyes for a moment, leaning her head against his shoulder. A smile came to the white wolfess' face at Pendzez's reaction to her news. She knew he would be happy. And she was happy too. They would have their own family soon. It was exciting, but also slightly stressful news; Xeris would have to find a place to keep the pups safe and stay safe herself until they were born.

"I wonder what they're going to be like," she mused aloud, her head still on Pendzez's shoulder. "A-and, we have to think of names, and..." Her heart was pounding. It was such an exciting thought. But she didn't even know how many there would be, or if they would be male or female. Based on the time of conception, they'd be due sometime in early December; she and Pendzez would have until then to talk about names and the like, she supposed. Though it seemed so far away, Xeris knew that the time would go by more quickly than she thought. "I'm going to find a cabin," she told her mate. "So we can all keep warm in the winter." She supposed that was the first step to getting things ready, and a very important step as well.

It felt good to be here, holding his mate in his arms, in the warmth of the fireplace against that dreadful storm outside the cave. It was this kind of alone time Pendzez wanted now and then with his beloved Xeris. The news about the pups so surprising, his heart was beating faster with excitement. Xeris' head upon his shoulder as she was comfortable in his arms. He was gonna have a family, that was the greatest news he would ever hear.

Pendzez listened as Xeris explained about some of the things to do before she would give birth to the pups. It would be stressful to find a good place for the winter seasons and the harsh weather. Pendzez's cabin was big enough for the both of them. A little more room for pups is fine. The cabin can fit three wolf couples in there. "My cabin is big enough for us..." he said as his hand moved down to her belly, softly and lightly rubbing it, "and them."
