I am just a shipwreck upon your shore

Standing against the fence that enclosed some of the pack's horses, Vigilante studied them silently. His own horse was back in his own makeshift stable and pasture behind the dog man's house, so he was alone today in his musing. Nothing interesting was happening in his life, unfortunately, and he was finding his house to feel a bit cramped, despite living in it alone. Vigilante did not find his own company to be enough for him, and while he was on good terms with some, he had no one he could seek out for company, not even Ayita. She was probably busy with her own affairs and her children, and possibly even busy with Leroy, as well. He was not up to date on the status of her life just yet, since he had not gone to see her since the birth of her children. She had other things to deal with than him.

It had occurred to him that Nádherné might enjoy the company of the other horses, but watching those in the pasture, he almost wondered whether or not his stoic horse might even fit into the scenario. It seemed that his horse was more like him than he thought, because Vigilante could not imagine the blood bay stallion being particularly social with the others, just as he generally remained on the fringes of society. He was fine with the fact that he was not the most social pack member, but he did wish he had someone to spend time with. His days were lonely, and it was not as if he could have deep philosophical conversations with the horse. Of course, he rarely ever found himself having such a conversation, but a simple, short one would do, as well. The silent company was nice, but he did not enjoy the quiet constantly.
