Sorry this took so long to get up. x.x Can we backdate to Halloween?
Word Count: 383. Worth 2 points.

Hanna stormed into the Cour des Miracles territory. She was off to see the King, and damn the consequences. She had a legitimate reason to be there, anyway (or was it illegitimate?), a reason that now made her belly protrude further than it should be. The cause was not overeating, but rather by the liason that the pair had had just over a month before, the one night they had shared in Grandfather's Tears. Hanna was pregnant by the man, approximately a month along, and therefore halfway through the sixty-three day gestation, and while her belly did not stick out nearly so far as others she had seen, the slightly hardened bulge was certainly discernable.

The medic had elected to remain in her Optime form through her pregnancy as it was the one she used most, and her sable hands now smoothed over the place where the baby - or babies? - resided. Given her smaller belly size, Hanna kind of thought she might only be having one child, but she genuinely hoped she would be having more. It was not the fear of motherhood that was sending her tooth and claw after the father to be, but a dire fear of telling Dawali and the not knowing how she was going to participate in the pack as a single mother. She had not spoken to Tayui, yet, as she had barely admitted her pregnancy to herself, but Hanna made a mental note to do so soon. She would have to tell Dawali, anyway, she could not hide the fact much longer.

The woman stopped suddenly, looking around and realizing she had absolutely no clue where she was at. Cour des Miracles was larger and more complex than she had realized it was. She turned a full revolution, spotting as she did a tall building labelled 'Chien Hotel'. She continued along a few paces and then yelled out. "Jacquez!!" She decided that she would continue doing this every few minutes until the collie King showed his face. The woman struck an angry pose, arms crossed across her chest, one hip thrown out. She made sure he would likely know a loooooong way off what her attitude was.

And even though she was elated to be expecting, she would certainly not show him that.

WC:444 // Backdating is fine. And apologies for all my delays. :3 Feel free to powerplay Rue; she is a spoiled little pony and could use some discipline!

"Petite sauvage, je te mangerai," the monarch in question growled, his dark eyes gleaming with the threat. Jacquez Trouillefou was standing in the fields beyond the Miracles' racetrack, chill winds chasing the colorful dead leaves about him. The tall Optime was growling at a young horse, all legs and no brain, as he saw her. Rue, the mischievous filly under his scrutiny, curled her lips to bray at him mockingly. The pinto was three months old now, nearing the king's height and able to skip out of his range when they play-fought together. Lately everything had been falling apart for the leader; Ruri's loverboy had made her sprain her ankle, baby Jontae had arrived out of nowhere and insisted on bogarting Firefly's time, and he hadn't felt like taking another co-leader since Svara's suicide, leaving many pack duties unfulfilled. The kingdom was a bit frayed around the edges, to put it simply.

Jacquez darted forward, attempting to cuff the young mustang's ears in play, but she buckled her long legs and pranced backwards, nickering with amusement. Suddenly she drew still, her nub ears swiveling to catch a faraway sound. The king clenched his jaw, intending to ignore the call as he had so many others lately -- it was never anything good anymore, and he didn't feel like dealing with it. But unfortunately, his equine companion felt capriciously otherwise, and bolted in the direction of the shout. Her little white tail had already disappeared over the horizon before the moody ruler decided he had better well follow, just to make sure no idiot decided to eat the headstrong filly. He would be put out if his pet managed to get herself killed.

As the sinuous man walked unhurriedly on his way, he noted the location of the hotel, and tilted his head in curiosity. Had a member called him here? This was a bit far from the borders for a loner to have -- oh. His fringed ears flicked forward as he drew to a halt, watching as Rue pranced over-zealously to the dark-furred woman, her silhouette akimbo. It had to be the Aniwayan, the horse-racer whom he had consorted with some weeks ago. She was right about it getting colder -- maybe she had actually followed through and brought him a blanket? The thought made him grin. He liked gifts, even if he couldn't care less about the sentiment behind them. The wolf -- eh, what was her name again? He should probably try to remember before she spotted him -- she didn't look happy, though. Maybe it would be smarter to discreetly signal Haven or Leroy to chase her out for trespassing.
