Bottoms up. Squeeze the burn. Swimming vison clears after a couple of seconds, and then you see again. No actual thoughts were in Vukasin's mind, just the blank reflection on the automatronic actions which his body was performing. Another empty shot glass hit the counter, and he glanced around. His gaze fell upon the bottle. The empty bottle. Growling, his lashed out with a paw and nocked it from the counter. It smashed against the wall, and he let his chin fall sullenly. His baleful stare fell upon a half-empty wall of shelves. Great... A few more days and he'd have to find a new bar to den up in. Hallifax was running out of liquor. And he was the one having to watch it all slowly vanish. Down his muzzle, of course. He'd already worked his way gradually through two bars adn a liquor store. His liver had to have been half dead by then. But he didn't care.

He was in one of those... Moods. He wasn't sure what the deal was with him, but it happened ocassionally. He'd bee feeling just fine, and then one little thing would piss him off, and then he'd be all... Down, for months. And then, he'd start drinking again. He couldn't help it. Ever since he'd discovered the awful, wonderful elixirs, he'd managed only half-heartedly to avoid complete addiction and alcohol poisoning. And, he hopped around from place to place enough to avoid the whole life-ruination thing. He didn't really have much of a life to ruin, after all. He sighed once more, feeling very, very sorry fo rhimself, and reached further down the counter for the nearest alcoholic beverage, a half-empty beer bottle.

Geneva was far from a wandering spirit, but sometimes staying within the borders of Phoenix Valley was hard on her. She did not get cabin fever so much as she longed to set sights on different things - even other familiar things, as long as she could get a change of pace. She loved Phoenix Valley and she was not one to shirk duty, but there were times when she felt as though the walls of her home were closing in on her. She wanted to breathe fresh air and feel ground beneath her feet that she was not responsible for defending and caring for.

She made a brief escape to Halifax. It was easy enough to slip away. Geneva almost always rose early now, which gave her plenty of time to patrol the borders. Phoenix Valley was more or less peaceful and quiet. She hadn't heard of any news or altercations. The tensions with Inferni seemed to have died down dramatically. She hadn't heard a whisper about it since she had spoken with the stranger named Anselm.

The gray furred femme was of a mind to unwind. She was in her Optime form as she walked through the streets, carefree. Despite her slender build and slightness, she had grown in her abilities to defend herself, or at least break away from an attacker. Plus, most creatures did not go around looking for a fight. Her olive colored eyes perused the cityscape, before they settled on a bar. She smiled slightly. It had been a while since she had partaken of that sort of thing. She walked into the establishment. "Vukasin!" she exclaimed when she saw him. "This is surely a surprise." She sauntered over, lime colored eyes taking in the sight of him. She frowned slightly - he didn't seem himself. She did not know much about him - but when they had been part of the same pack briefly he had seemed happier, more hopeful. She stepped behind the bar and found a shot glass, groping for a bottle before she poured some in. "To your health," she said before she tipped the contents back.

.:OOC:.

Hey hey! xD (don't worry, he's not really gonna try anything.)
.:IC:.
Vukasin had just flipped the bottle bottom up to drain it, like all of the others, when another wolf, a female, came waltzing in. He eyed her as she walke dbehidn the counter, and glowered as she poured herself a shot. She seemed famliar, but in his current state, he couldn't recognise her. She was lovely, though. The haircut was a little off-putting, for his taste, but she was still a nice piece of ass. Maybe... Growling in a menacing manner, he spoke up in a gruff voice. "Put the bottle down..."

He was up in the blink of an eye, though he had to catch his balance against the counter top, and he moved more slowly, menacingly, towards her, around the counter. He stopped a few feet away. Crossing his arms infront of his chest, he leaned back against the bar. Glaring at her, he grinned in an unpleasant, toothy manner. "I was here first, Lovey... If you know what's good for you, you'll leave..." He wanted nothing more than to drink himself into another stupor, and anything, or anyone, that intended to get in the way of that wouldn't fare too well.

Geneva put the empty shot glass on the bar top. It clinked as it made contact with the old, dark wood. Vukasin eyed her with a look that she did not like. He seemed put out - and that was putting it mildly. There was something definitely different about his demeanor. He had changed, or at least his situation had. And not for the better. The light gray sub-leader had never gotten to know him very well when he had been part of Phoenix Valley. Even now, she realized that he was more or less a virtual stranger.

He did not seem to recognize her. Or if he did, then he did not seem to care. He rounded the bar and came forward. His manner was menacing, his words dark and cold. Although she was surprised, she was not phased. She stared at him coolly and brushed her fingertips over the neck of the bottle. "You do not have to be personable to me," she said coolly, quirking an eyebrow at his aggressive body language.

"However, you will be civil, Vukasin Sandalius," she narrowed her eyes as she took him in. He seemed to be feeling the effects of liquor, but he did not seem totally consumed by it. She had never seen him drunk, but she had enough experience with alcohol to feel somewhat certain in her assessment. "We were packmates once. Don't you remember me? You sat on the steps of my home, and we spoke with one another while it rained."

He watched her as she went from pleasant to cold. Instinctive, as it would be for most wolves. He would have joked when confronted with behavior such as his, before he fell into this slump. He gave a rough, barking laugh s she told him that he "would be civil, Vukasin Sandalius". Yeah, right. why would he need to do that? She was nothing to him; she didn't know hi-... She did know him. What the hell? Hwo did she know his name? The she started talking about being packmates.

eh shook his head. No. No, he hadn't been in a pack in his entire life.. Wait. He had been in a pack. He frowned, and she was forgotten for the moment as he sank to the floor, his left hand on his knees, his right rubbing his chin. What was it ca-... Pheonix Valley. That was it! He did know her. She was... Oh, come one, Vukasin! You know her name, damn it! What is it? He continued to think for a moment, dredging his brain. A house, a storm. A ranch house, in a thunder storm. Gray fur, green eyes... She was wounded at the time, recovering from an attack...

"Stockholm... Geneva Stockholm."

Finally there was a glimmer of recognition in his otherwise bloodshot eyes. She wondered how hard he had been hitting the bottle recently, and why. The Vukasin Sandalius she had met in Phoenix Valley had been a completely different creature. He had seemed reserved in his own way, but he had also been pretty friendly for the most part. Perhaps he was a lonely soul and he had a hard time finding his place in the world. Regardless of whatever was bothering him, his behavior appeared to be erratic at best.

"Yes, that's me," Geneva said slowly. Her confidence was not shaken, but she was so curious about what had happened now. It was one thing for the male to be down in the dumps, but another thing entirely for him to advance upon her threateningly. He could probably damage her if he wanted to, she didn't doubt that. But she wanted to know what was going on with him.

"What happened?" Something vital had changed about him or about his life. There had to be something...but she did not know him well enough to put her finger on it. She wished that she had known him better before his disappearance. She wanted to help either way but she did not know if it was even possible.
