Skies on Fire,

The sun had begun to set several minutes before, and the waters which the lonely figure looked out upon turned from brilliant gold, to warm tangerine, to arterial blood. Mismatched eyes barely noticed as he tightened his grip on the bottle of vodka sitting in the warm black sands beside him. His eyes were dark, clouded. He had, as had happened to him in the past, fallen into one of his deep, dark, lonely, alcohol-soaked depressions. He was once more dweeling upon the many tragic events of his life: the death of his brother Sora, his separation from his brother Kaen, and... He couldn't even remember what it had been that had messed him up that time. Maybe it was just the time of year? His jaded gaze flicked up to the horizon momentarily, and his whined softly to himself.

It was a cool evening, bordering on cold, but his think coat kept him warm enough that he didn't notice the temperature. He squeezed the neck of the bottle harder, looking down at it. He hated it... But he needed it, too. Sighing dejectedly, he raised the bottle to the sinking sun. "Maybe we can both drown this time..." he toasted the flaming ball of gas before drinking as much of the clear liquid in one breath as he could. Then, he let the bottle fall back to the sand and sat staring to the horizon once more.

The sun was beginning to set as Pendzez went for a little walk outside to enjoy the sunset on this beautiful day. It was as beautiful as his mate, Xeris. Pendzez watched the setting sun as it's tangerine and orange color scattered on the ocean waters. He couldn't remember the last time he saw the sunset like this. It must have been a long time now, way before he met Xeris. He wanted to continue watching it, no matter how long it will last.

Pendzez went on the sandy beach, finding that there was another wolf not to far away. Pendzez watched the wolf with his red orbs, seeing that this wolf looked familiar. He then remembered who he was, though he chose not to remember when he did. He saw Vuk, looking out into the sunset, drinking a bottle of vodka. "Vukasin?" he said as he approached the wolf.

He watched as the sun continued to sink into the sea. A blazing, bleeding titan, dying now only to be reborn again with the dawn. How very poetic, Vukasin... he sneered mentally at himself, disgusted with his own romanticism, almost as much as he was of his drinking. Neither was a thing he could help. Not right then. He wasn't very deep into the latest bottle, so he was more aware than he had been at other recent times. Small blessing. With a mixture of disgust and regret, he tossed th ebottle as far as he could out into the waves, sighing at the forlorn splash.

Then a voice intruded upon his little, isolated world. Looking up, and around, he spotted a white form. He squinted against the sea's glare, Tryign to make out a face. Platinum blond hair, which was lovely, he noted. Red eyes, kind of odd, not that he was one to judge weird eye colors. Wait a second... Small, white fur, blond hair, red eyes... The fur was soft, he remembered. Vukasin sighed and dropped to his back in the sand as he acknowledged the other. "Pendzez..."

Pendzez was quick to know who the wolf was that was drinking the bottle of vodka. He remembered the color of the pelt. Not to mention the marking on the leg. Pendzez watched the bottle that Vuk threw into the ocean, watching it gte carried away. Pendzez turned his gaze back to the other male. What had happened to Vuk? He just disappeared and now he's here. Where had he went off to without saying anything?

Pendzez continued to approach the male, stopping not far away as he looked at Vuk. "What happened to you, Vuk?" Pendzez did show little concern of the male, however the male shouldn't get his hopes up that Pendzez desperately missed him. Pendzez didn't really want him, well not in intimacy, but as a pack mate was a different story.

*dances*

I'm Drowning Like a Fish in the Sea Vukasin started up into the sky itself. The clouds all were of the small, fluffy sort, skittering about as though they were late for some flighty affair, yet in no real hurry to get there. Behind them, the sky was dimming from a bold, opaque cornflower, to a deep, transparent indigo, and the small pinpricks of the stars shone clear through. He inhaled, exhaled, inhaled, and exhaled. "I d'know what you're talkin' about..." he muttered, scowling up at one particularly bright star. It might have been the North Star, or whatever, but he wasn't sure. He wasn't sure about anything. He didn't know what month it was, what day. He didn't know what was wrong with him, why he did nothing to stop it. Why he didn't want to stop it. But he did remember what had started it.

He'd been in Halifax, exploring, sight-seeing. He never got tired of it. All of the dark, crumbling buildings; they were intriguing. He loved to just sit there and imagine how the humans might have built them, just like in the book he read, when the humans puzzled over how their ancestors had built the huge Pyramids. He had decided then that he would see those pyramids some day, but he didn’t know when. He’d been studying a crumbling statue, admiring really, when he’d heard a voice. Someone was arguing with himself, as though he were lost. It was a familiar voice. Vukasin had climbed to his paws, slowly, silently, and set out up the street, where he’d heard it. Upon rounding a corner, he had seen a ghost from his past. All black, with yellow eyes. Or, at least, he thought they were yellow. He was bigger than before, and there were dyed markings that were not there before, but… Upon seeing the specter, he’d turned and ran.

Sora was dead... Wasn’t he?

What was it that Vuk didn't know what Pendzez was talking about? Look at himself, he should. He was wasting away with nothing but bottle of alcohol, a drink of humans that used to either for some fun or to drown sorrows. Alcohol wasn't the answer in this case. All he was doing was looking up at the sky like he didn't know what to do. Pendzez didn't know what to do, but he have to do his best to try and help Vuk.

Pendzez sat down next to Vuk, while he looked up at the visible stars that was out at this time. It was starting to get dark, however he didn't really care right now. The thing he was concerned with, minorly, was Vuk. "You left us and I find you here."
