Larkspur is outside of the borders, but I wanted a someone from PV to find him. :]

It had been nearly a month since they had arrived. Misery had been setting up camp when she was around, and they now had one large tent-like structure for the two of them. Lark had made a point to keep her comfortable, and that was why her bed was the larger of the two. More often then not he was four-legged and hunting, or scouting the area around their home. Slowly, he had begun learning about the world. This was a gradual process, one that was taking longer because he had passed the point where a task such as reading was simpler.
With a full belly and a free afternoon, the now-bulky wolf was making his way south. By now, he had established there were several nearby territories. Coyotes to the north (Inferni, Misery had told him), who did not take kindly to strangers. A wolf pack east, with a peculiar looking male often stalking the borders. This pack to the south was unfamiliar, and he intended to find out more about it. Misery had explained that they needed to find the D’Angelos in this area, and continuously reminded him about children. So, he had a mission. Two missions, in fact, but he was inexperienced with the latter of the two and elected instead to do what he was comfortable with.

ooc talk

Geneva had woken up with a bit of a headache from her activities the evening before. She had wandered into Halifax to have some time away from Phoenix Valley, but when the sun rose again over the pack lands, the subleader was back in the saddle. The wayfaring ways of yesterday forgotten, she had risen with renewed purpose and applied herself to her duties with vigor. Despite her headache, she had plenty of energy. The light was not bright enough to hurt her eyes, as it was partly cloudy.

The afternoon proved to be mostly uneventful. She had found a pair of cattle who had meandered away from the barn and had begun grazing. After ushering them back to where they belonged. It had taken a bit more effort, because she had remained in her four-legged form, but she did not mind the challenge. Opposable thumbs were definitely useful tools, but there was something oddly gratifying about accomplishing a task with creative thinking and alternative methods.

Now she paced slowly across the borders. She had no sense of smell at her disposal, and so she relied very much on visual markings and her own memory. But she knew the borders of the pack lands like she knew her own name, and so it was not a hard task. And today, as she sometimes did, she happened upon a stranger. She noted his dark coat, gender, and size before she made herself known, approaching him with ease. She was comfortable here, and he seemed to just be looking around. The slight wolfess lifted her light gray muzzle, lime green eyes playing on his face before she spoke softly. "Good afternoon, stranger. Is there something you are looking for?"

Mind if I jump in?

Ty had finally got the idea in his head that it was time for a somewhat short vacation. With some coercion from his close friends and relatives, he was convinced he needed to get out of the valley, at least for a few days, nothing too big, a day or two at least, just to see the other packs around here. After all, when he got to the valley he never really took the time to look at all the other packs around, although now with what he knew he kept in mind what packs to avoid, mainly inferni. He had done nothing but work for the pack since he got here, patrolling the boarders, keeping his hunting and fighting skills up, continuing to gather food, it was time for a little break in his duties. Hopefully nothing would go too wrong in the time he was gone so when he came back he'd end up with more work than when he left.

However, no sooner did Ty reach the boarder than he noticed the big black wolf and Geneva nearby. From what he could tell, it seemed like Geneva had just spotted the unnamed black wolf as well, and although Ty had promised Pendzez he would take a break, he didn't want Geneva to think he was suddenly being lazy about the boarders. Besides, Ty was never one to simply pass a wolf and not say hello, even one with such an intimidating size as this one. Altering his course slightly to meet Geneva and the black wolf at once, he decided to speak out to the unnamed wolf first to get his attention. however, they way he got the large male's attention was vague enough so it would apply to both of them. "Ey there!" He called out to both of the wolves.

Though the scent of wolves was growing ever stronger, Lark was still not entirely sure of what to expect. By all accounts his experience with pack wolves had been stunted. Khalif had ignored and abused him. After Misery had taken him away there had been no need for companionship beyond her. Pack wolves were only tools, often either fought or intimidated in order to get what he needed. Without the grace of social interaction, there was very little he could do beyond rely on his brute strength.
A woman was approaching him, one thin and very pretty. Larkspur slowed in his approach, and came to a stop. There was nothing in his body language to suggest even the hint of violence or suspicion. He wasn’t here to do anything bad. Before he could explain himself, another voice came from the right, and Larkspur’s head swiveled. An orange wolf was coming toward them, one who apparently knew the woman. Before he got close, however, Lark had turned his face back to his female companion. “Something, kind of,” he tried to explain. “I’m looking for any D’Angelos.” If they recognized the name, he would know he was on the right track.

Anya slunk along the borders of the pack, stalking a squirrel that had had the gall to start screeching at her when she was gathering herbs. He wouldn't make a good meal, so she wasn't technically hunting, just proving that revenge is a dish best served cold. That little rodent was skilled at jumping through the trees, though, and Anya ended up tracking him mostly by sound.

Of course, Anya wasn't precisely paying attention to where she was going...she was just intent on making that squirrel's life miserable. So when she heard voices, Anya's ears perked up and she abandoned her squirrel hunt....for the time being.

"Hi guys, long time no see...How is everything going?" Anya noticed the newcomer, and tried to place his scent. It seemed familiar, but not quite the same. It rang a bell in her head, reminding her of someone....who was it??
"I'm Anya." She introduced herself, hoping to gather more information about this newcomer.

After Rendall had left, Anya secluded herself in the woods, scratching out shallow dens in the evenings. Pretty soon, she knew that she would have to find a more permanent shelter, but she wasn't too worried about that for the time being.

She started, noticing something about herself. She had actually introduced herself first, instead of waiting for the new male to introduce himself and question her presence. Anya realized that she had changed quite a bit since first coming to Phoenix Valley in July.

Geneva's ears flicked back a little at the mention of the familiar surname, D'Angelo. Before she had further time to react, however, Ty's familiar voice entered the area. She turned her head slightly in his direction, nodding to him. She was always glad to see him. He always seemed to be in good spirits, and he was good company, as far as Geneva was concerned. And recently, with the birth of Naniko's pups, he had shown that not only was he loyal, he was also resourceful and he could think on his feet in an unfamiliar situation.

He extended a cheerful greeting, even to a stranger. Her olive eyes turned back to the large dark-colored wolf. He seemed cordial enough, but vague. She did not want to give away any unnecessary details about Naniko or her young children. She planned to be just as vague. She was very protective of her former leader and friend. Naniko was certainly a capable creature, but Geneva was always extra-careful as far as she was concerned.

And once again, her attention was diverted by another of her pack mates. Anya made herself known very clearly, introducing herself. She nodded in the woman's direction and turned her eyes back to the stranger. Her attention was sharp, but she did not feel threatened. Geneva was cautious by nature. "That is Ty," she said, gesturing toward the orange male with her muzzle. "I am Geneva. This is Phoenix Valley. And you are?"

The Savant returned to the topic at hand. "I know of those who bear the name D'Angelo," she said, though she offered no other information after that statement. "What is your purpose concerning them?"
