The Dreamer was aware of that certain drugs could make you become. She didn’t want to change. The woman was finally becoming satisfied with who she was, she was gaining courage and even venturing to places Mati never thought she would go and a few she didn’t know even existed. It was a secondary thought and very too late, but she hoped that this wouldn’t change her forever. The pot was nice, relaxing and not what she had actually expected when thinking of drugs, but she didn’t want to be addicted and she didn’t want to be altered forever. Rikka eased her fears, calming the minor paranoia and steering her away from a dark path and onto one of a heavy gaze, a hungry stomach and relaxed mind. It was okay if she wanted to do this again, but it wasn’t if she had too and could not control the urge.

What she spoke of sounded lovely. It didn’t seem like the sort of place where anyone had to be afraid, ever. No one wanted to hurt each other, no one probably even thought of it. All day long they played? Nothing else? No work, no patrol. Well, it didn’t seem like they needed it, there was no one to worry about. Mati smiled into the eyes of the other woman, imagining herself simply living, laughing and loving as she had never before. It seemed like another world compared to that she had returned to.
“I think I would." Mati admitted with a hazy gaze. Maybe they could make a commune? So ready to leave all that she had created for herself in Crimson Dreams and those that loved her for such bliss. But then there would always be beasts like Corvus that would want to destroy it.

There was noting left to pass between them. The joint nothing but a roach of what it had been, and Mati didn’t even note its absence. She didn’t notice what was happening, couldn’t see the closeness or how it would seem to another outside the world the two had created. Violet eyes looked into the gold the peered through her so easily. It was the smoke that made her feel so transparent, and Mati didn’t even know how close the two woman had come until she felt the hand on her cheek. It was subtle, light grazing the soft fur the covered her cheek bone. Mati held the stand of fur, golden as aged straw and as soft as silk. Inadvertently she leaned slightly into the fingers that graced her face, not knowing what to say. Words were lost to the woman, and she could neither speak nor look away.

Rikka could tell that Mati was made for commune life. She had that artistic spirit, not to mention she was gentle and kind. The earthen wolf’s aura closely matched her own, though it was already clear that Mati’s artistic ability was far beyond her own. The hybrid loved to play around with art materials, but she had no particular skill at it. She was simply a dabbler and admirer of such ventures. She wanted to see the pieces that her friend had brought to life for she was certain they would take her breath away. Mati had already taken her breath away with the invisible brush of words and imagination so what she was able to do with the pencil and brush must be equally amazing. Maybe the two of them could start their own commune and bring some peace and free love to these lands. Deep down she knew such a lovely place could not survive here. It was a rare flower and was easily killed. Still, it was a nice pipe dream to entertain for the time being. No harm, no foul.

This was somewhat foreign territory to Rikka. She’d had forays with same sex experiences, but they had been few and far between. Most of the time she preferred her lovers to be men, but sometimes another woman managed to catch her fancy, as Mati was certainly doing now. The older fey had no idea that Mati was just as inexperienced in this department as she was when it came to smoking. Still, when her fingers brushed the other’s cheek she didn’t jerk away. In fact she even moved into the touch, and for now that was all the confirmation Rikka needed to take things another step forward. Her thumb rubbed gently against Mati’s face as her nose leaned in to nuzzle against her comrade’s. Part of her wanted to immediately have their lips meet in a kiss, but she refrained for now, wanting to take things slow.

she is sooooo smooth... ;D

There was a heat between them, a connection so tangible that the woman almost reached for it. But it was alive, present and Mati need not grasp it with her fingers. Lightly the stands of fur fell from her hand and she felt it lower away from the woman’s face. They eyes did not break their gaze, as the golden wolfess rested her finger against the curve of Mati’s cheek. It was then that Mati lost the bright honey eyes that had held her still for so long. Her touch was slow, fragile and yet so conscious in the smoke that lingered in their minds. It was sudden, the feelings that filtered between them clashing as Rikka moved towards her and softly brushed her nose against the deep brown fur. Her own hand reached forward to touch the nap of the other’s neck, to rest along the gentle curve and to not be without soft fur beneath her touch for a moment longer. Then Mati felt the breath in her chest catch in her lungs. It was held there, her eyes bright and wide with realization and the understanding of what was happening.

It shocked her system, every muscle tensing and every nerve firing with the same message. The Dreamer moved back against the restaurant’s booth. The fabric rubbed against her back and her hand clung to the table that pinned her against it.
“I…” She spoke, no longer feeling the slightest bit stoned. It was if she had never smoked at all, a sudden sobriety that ran through her system like cold water. The table was light in her urge to escape and her need to recover from the knowledge of what had just almost happened.
“Need, I need to go.” the explanation was nothing at all and yet Mati wished it to be satisfactory.
“I have to.", she spoke again in her hurried need to be in air that was clean and clear, away from the woman that had tempted her so. The table almost lost its balance and the female caught it, standing it aside she began to walk to the door. She simply walked out, strides as long and full as her legs could make.

If things kept progressing as they were then this was going to be a very good night. Better even than the metallic hued fey had anticipated. Having someone to smoke and pass the time with was always plenty good enough for her, but to find a potential new lover, well that was just icing on the cake. It had been too long since she had felt the soft caress of another and such things were always different coming from another female. They were gentler somehow, more understanding, as if the nurturing instincts in the two were interacting more than the individuals themselves. It was more about taking care of one another than simply exploring the possibilities of their bodies. Rikka enjoyed both avenues, but right now this sounded like exactly what she wanted and needed. She needed to know that life here could be beautiful. She needed to know that even if she were the only one in Inferni like herself that there were others in the area that were more like her than unlike her. She felt that with Mati and it seemed that their union would be a purely beautiful and wonderful thing.

That was until the frightened girl that she had first encountered suddenly made another appearance. A soft whine came from the hybrid as the other retreated from their contact, a plea for things not to stop. As much as she wanted this though, she wasn’t the type to make anyone do anything they didn’t want to. It had only gone as far as it had because it had seemed as if Mati were just as into it as Rikka had been. Something had changed though and now startled violet eyes looked back to her, confused and disoriented. What had changed in those milliseconds? She couldn’t say, but one thing was clear: her night would not be spent getting to know the earthen femme who was oh so intriguing any better. Before Rikka really had time to gather her scattered mind into a reaction Mati was up and hurriedly head towards the door, stuttering excuses. As she looked at the wolf’s back her hand rose and waved lamely. "Bye…" her voice called out in a dazed sort of way.

Now she was alone again and with a heavy sigh the de le Poer leaned back in the booth. There was no shame or embarrassment; such things were not something she felt often. There was only a remorse that what could have been an amazing night had slipped away. Oh well. "C'est la vie," she said to no one as she got up and looked about for a bottle of wine.
