ooc:

A learned traveler, it was not in her nature to stay still for long, let alone in one place when there was still so much to explore. She had fled from the fields for other lands, running the scape of the Valley until the scenery became unfamiliar and she was fully intrigue by what she saw.

A forest. Many of the like she had seen, but not so soon after the plains drifted from sight. The invigorating scent of the field was enough to send her sense array as adrenaline flooded through her veins pumping the drug through her system and fueling her further at exhilarating speeds across the plain. Tall towers sprouted in her path encouraging her dance through them, bounding with unbridled excitement. Her path drew near to a soft gurgling stream snaking a trail and leading her deeper into the forest’s embrace. Like a moth, she was helpless to pull away and followed the delicate trickle with ears pinned forward attentively.

It was not until coming toward the threshold of the forest to the lake that her eyes widened and a soft gasp escaped her loosened lips. Her lips peeled back in a smile and her crystals sparkled with the reflective light of the secret lake. Simply beautiful. Her pace came to a halt near the brim of the lake, obsidian claws gently grated the glassy surface. Captivated by the serenity of the secret enclosure, she gave great care to note the subtle changes in light, the glittering surface of eerily blue pool. Her lips quirked, a romantic flutter churned her stomach and again she sighed. Every day was a new exploration, and today was such a day. She steadily advanced to the pool slipping crème tinged boots into the crystalline depths, a cooling sensation enveloped her travel worn pads and a sensual chill coursed along her spine. About her paws, tiny fish danced fluidly, sneaking a taste of her claws then darting away as they flexed from touch. Some of the more larger fish lingered toward the center of the lake and upon sight of them, the female’s stomach growled startlingly the tiny things as they vibrations radiated from her grounded paws. She slapped her lips subconsciously, tasting the sweet essence of fish upon her lips with just a thought. Perhaps a snack would do her well.

Hi! Big Grin
451 words

Gotham was starting to get very big and strong, indeed. Just the other day he had caught a glimpse of himself in a mirror at the mansion, and he found himself to be a rather handsome beast! He was almost nine months old, now, and was starting to become interested in things he hadn't cared much for as a puppy. The boy was pleased that he had such nice sleek black fur, no doubt inherited from his mother, and such blue eyes. He had previously lamented his bright eyes, as they seemed to hinder his ability to hide in a game of hide and seek, but now he found them rather charming. When he walked, he puffed out his chest and kept his head high, imagining himself one of the princes or knights of the story books he had read with his father. Gotham tried to act as princelike as he could, because, like them, he wanted to acquire a princess. And, he knew from the books, brave princes never failed in finding a beautiful princess!

The youngster was strolling through a field and bewailing the lack of dragonflies or any sort of bug when, to his immense surprise, someone else flew past him. He stopped his romping all of a sudden, and merely peered at where the speedy wolf was off to. After a moment, he decided it would be good fun to go after her, and he took off. He was no match for her speed, but he kept her in view and followed her into a forest, where a creek wound between their legs and drew them deeper. He couldn't see her after only a few steps into the thick forest, and he slowed down, panting heavily. Following the winding water, he made his way deeper and deeper, assuming that the other wolf would likely follow the clearing as well. He was bored of roaming by himself, and would be quite glad to have some company.

The creek led to a lake, and as Gotham approached he was filled with a sense of awe. It seemed to glow and sparkle in the sunlight that filtered down to it, so bright compared to the depths of the forest he had just travelled through. The wolf that had ran past him was standing on the lake, and, quietly, Gotham slipped onto the edge of the lake. "Hello, miss!" he called out boldly, before walking carefully towards her, watching the fish beneath the ice as they swelled away from him with every pawstep he took. Occasionally he would slip a little, but he tried to catch himself and cause as little disturbance as possible. He had to make a good impression!

ooc: Sorry. Im having a slow start...but it will pick up!

A little tap here, perhaps a little rigorous digging there…and before she knew it, there would be delectable fish for her snack. All she needed was to remain silent and search the ice for weakness. Zynex was a patient thing, observant without the need to rush head first into something…tactful. But by the gods she was hungry and the thought of waiting was becoming less and less appealing. The dam cursed silently to herself, forgoing her plan to steal the lake’s aquatic inhabitants and instead took to letting herself bask its radiance. A lovely place indeed.

But the peace was shattered by an excited voice. A ridge of fright escalated on the she-wolf’s back as she whirled around toward the higher voice. Her eyes were wide with alarm as though she had been caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to. But the creature that drew near was such a small thing in comparison to her stature, but none the less adorable. Her tensed state lessened and with a gentle smile upon her muzzle she watched the boy teeter closer. With each slip of his paw, Zyn felt herself jerk forward, ready to rise him to his feet should he take an earthbound turn. But he was doing well on his own, she would commend him. She bowed her head, gracefully as if greeting a King upon his land, ears pinned against her skull with eyes averted.

“Hello little warrior,” she offered gently, lifting head to its fullest as well as regaining her relaxed position. Though she remained still, she exhibited a calming air about her, at ease if only to keep the child without a worry of her presence. “What brings you out here? A Wanderer at heart, are you?” To this, she smiled broadly, ashen lips peeling back their fullest as the Cheshire smile became her face. Though no offence was issued by her gesture, she wouldn’t help herself feel it was genuine in the sight of the boy. A Wanderer herself, it was a pleasure to see the young taking the initiative to explore.

I'm slow :/ Sorry!

His attempts to reduce his slipping were not the most efficient; his main strategy was to make his legs stay straight, but this didn't help at all, and indeed seemed to make it even more difficult to stay upright. After a couple of moments he decided to forgo grace and let himself bend his knees, which was a wonderful modification. He was much sturdier this way, and Gotham found himself able to stand upon the ice with little incident. The youngster, standing proudly now, smiled at the stranger's remark. He was pleased that she could see his inherent fearlessness and his obvious charm. With each thing he did he attempted to be princely (when he remembered, at least), and it was quite wonderful that it was paying off. He wouldn't assume he had it down pat now, though, and would keep at it. One day, perhaps, it would become natural and completely subconcious, but for now he needed to continually practice. Eventually he would get into that sort of mindset permanently.

A wanderer was slightly different than a prince, but a prince did explore a lot, when they were looking for dragons and princesses and things. So, Gotham gave one brisk nod at her statement. "I'm explorin', ma'am!" he chimed with a grin. The youngster kept up with the politeness and formality, as this was essential when making a good impression. He needed to make a good impression, otherwise princesses wouldn't like him very much. Though this hypothesis had not been tested extensively by himself, there were many cases in the literature that it was true; storybook after storybook showed that a prince, if not nice and polite already, had to become so in order to acquire a princess. Gotham figured he'd get a head start and just be nice to begin with. In that case, he ought to say something clever and pleasant in return, so he added, "Quite lovely in here, innit!"
