No matter how hard she tried, not everything in Tokyo's life could be beautiful and pristine. She reassured herself by trying desperately to keep in mind the fact that at least when this was all over, she would be skinny and gorgeous again. But even that wasn't enough to keep her happy when the fifth pup came out and, no matter how much Tokyo tried to lick it into life, it was stillborn. That made three. Three pristine little corpses nudged against the wall. She'd have to dispose of them somehow later - the thought made her stomach churn. When did she start to care so much? Why did she care so much? An overwhelming sense of deja vu swallowed her. She wasn't in Dahlia de Mai; she was miles away, in the little hole in a ground where she had given birth to the unwanted puppies that drove her Champion out of her life. Three corpses. Then, it had been her fault. This time.. it was what? Fate? Some terrible cosmic joke?

The three bodies nudged as far out of sight as possible, Tokyo collapsed beside the other two. Tomorrow it'd be four corpses. Only the boy looked healthy; he was much larger than the others, and already fiercely suckling. The girl was having trouble breathing. She recognized the sound from the worst of her own breathing problems. Sick lungs, apparently genetic. She wouldn't make it til morning. One son, then. No new daughter to dress up and teach to be pretty. Why did this hurt so badly? The presence of the pain was just so baffling and confusing. Maybe the words she had thrown at Princess in anger were rooted in some sort of truth. Had she wanted these children? It was hard to tell; her wish to have them out of her body could have easily masked any desire to raise them. Puppies were so gross. But.. these were Haku's. He was strong, and fierce, and worthy. The very fact that he had been clever enough to coerce Tokyo into the act that conceived them was telling.

She didn't understand her emotions, so she decided to just ignore them, carefully tucking them in some out of the way corner of the mind. What mattered was that for some reason, she cared for this little brat, and his rapidly dying sister. He would grow to be strong, like his father. Tokyo's mind filled with images from the last pack meeting - but instead of Haku at the forefront, this little brown and gray boy. Grown huge, a commanding presence.. Her heart swelled with pride at the thought, and she licked him with the closest thing to a genuine affection that she had ever possessed.

A few hours passed before Dahlia’s alpha made his way towards the Chance woman’s den. His daily patrol had brought him close to her home earlier this same day and his sensitive nostrils had caught the unmistakable scent straight away. He was disgusted by the mere thought of what had been in progress. Foolish female, so fucking foolish. The psychopathic male blamed the female for her pregnancy. There were ways to prevent life from blooming in the womb, surely. He did not want his blood to roam the lands once again. Conor and Emwe were such disastrous failures. Nothing could remove the man’s disgust with puppies. His own were no better than anyone else. Despite all of this he was here now and he slowly made sure to make a lot of noise to announce his arrival. He remembered too well how awful Firefly had been at the birthing scene when he had arrived, and who knew what would await him now. ”Tokyo, it’s me.” he announced soothingly as he slowly entered her home, not bothering about waiting for any approval or disapproval. Blackmailing Tokyo was an easy and pleasurable thing -- except for this boring result here, that was.

Death hinted his nostrils, so incredibly faint because it was entirely fresh. The male did not let it shine though that it soothed his frustration to know that at least some of them were dead. Ah, yes. Three limb forms were lying cold against the cool wall. Blue eyes investigated the forms with interest, though behind the casual curiosity there was hunger. Most wolves would certainly recoil with disgust if they got a glimpse of the male’s sudden desire. Instead, Haku turned to the mother and her two children. Technically the two small forms were their children, but Tokyo would probably have to deal with this on her own. Ears flickered as he listened to the slowly dying girl. ”Is it a male?” It should be obvious that he was talking about the child that seemed to embrace life and not death like its siblings. Perhaps the best solution would have been to rip them away from their mother’s warmth and devour their flesh at once, but something stopped him. The suckling child’s size was good for its age and despite its current condition it would one day strengthen Dahlia de Mai in numbers.

There was noise outside, and she tensed until the scent wafted in. Haku. Her heart fluttered a little at the thought. He was such a good leader, and he was here to visit the child that they had created, together. Tokyo hadn't really expected it. She didn't look her best, but at least she was skinny again. There was a bit of a mess, but most of it she had tidied up when scooting the corpses away from her nest, from the two living children. He spoke, then entered. She really wished she had had time to brush her fur, or something. But honestly he probably wasn't here to see her, no matter how much she thought the world revolved around her.

Haku's question confirmed her speculation. "The one who is going to live, yes." Tokyo said simply, happiness leaking into her voice. "He's big. Strongest in the litter, stronger than any in my previous one as well. I'm going to call him King, and I'm sure he'll grow up into a wolf to make us proud." She cleaned him again, smoothing the puppy fur as he continued to suckle fiercely, drawing nourishment from his mother's skinny frame. The girl wasn't even trying, so hard was she focusing on the very act of breathing itself. Tokyo nudged the poor thing closer against her, trying at least to keep the little thing warm for the duration of it's surely brief life.

There really was something different about this litter. Both involved unwanted conceptions, but the difference really must have boiled down to who was the father. Raphael was a scum bag, leading her on then forcing himself on her. His children had been irreparably flawed. The three that died surely wouldn't have turned out any better than the two that lived. Princess, a sloppy thief consumed by the terrible poisonous influence of her brother, and Buttface.. Ugh. He was just terrible. But this child. With a father like Haku.. Yes, Tokyo had been forced to sleep with him. But the cleverness of how that had come about! It was a deception she could appreciate. If this boy had even half the talents of his parents, half of their good looks.. She was just so damn proud to have participated in his creation.

The male was motionless like the grim gargoyle on its tower as he watched the two small children and waited for Tokyo’s reply. He felt the forbidden saliva of desire build up between the cracks of his teeth, hidden behind his tightly shut lips. There seemed to be a strange merriness inhabiting the woman now. Of course, she was unworthy like the rest and seemed to have a rain cloud hovering overhead from the loss of the three, soon to be four young, yet there was a mother’s love sneaking into her beautiful face. He had not worried too much when he had discovered her pregnancy. The woman’s history with her former litter had settled his irritation with ease because he had not expected them to be allowed to live. He had forced himself on her and she had been foolish enough to allow life to bloom within. Surely she should have known what to do once the time came for them to be born. She had failed him, and it was plain to see that she did not know this.

No. The woman actually seemed proud of her accomplishment. Although he had wanted the litter dead from the start, he found contentment in his blackened soul as he watched the healthy child suckle away. A large and healthy male that he this time would attempt to twist into his own will. He had failed with his former flesh and blood; failed to see the opportunities rise. Haku Soul needed soldiers and followers and he had failed to think of forming his own children and bend and break them into following his will. Perhaps it was still time to force his maturing sons to follow him. Now, with this child before him, he had all the time in the world to turn the child’s heart into a true black that would fit his demonic father’s wishes. Although he cared little for this, the male pretended to be pleased and even nodded as the woman revealed the newborn child’s name. Haku was the only king and this child of hers would only be an insignificant puppet that was to be sacrificed in war.

The foolish woman used the word ‘we’ as she spoke, as if they were a couple; two parents with their child. She failed to understand that Haku could not participate in such a thing. Surely he could pretend to be some kind of sire, but his interest in this child was for cruel purposes only. The puppy’s blood meant very little, for he cared nothing of his own spawn. He participated in the act of sex because he found pleasure and domination in it, but whatever this resulted in aside from this was fully the women’s problem and responsibility. His burning orbs moved to the dying girl. He knew very well what he wanted for her. ”You’ve done very well, Tokyo, our son is perfect” his voice gently rumbled, offering false pride to join into his voice to fool the woman into believing that he actually cared. ”The girl however, she is in pain.” now a touch of what would seem like genuine worry and pain would enter his words, for he wanted to take her away. ”If you want me to I can take her away and end her suffering. It will be quick and painless – for the best.”

He was certain that he would buy his words. It was clear that the little pathetic bundle of flesh was suffering as she struggled with each trembling breath. Even the mother had to see this. ”I’ll take care of the bodies. You’ll go ahead and rest now, Tokyo.” Oh yes, she had been so good and had barely managed to keep them alive this time. What a worthless mother she was. ”I’ll take care of everything.” the male turned slightly and nudged one of the small, unmoving corpses. This was done gently, because she was never to know his true intentions. He looked at her now, waiting for approval to remove the dead and the dying. The Rosen did not want to force the woman as of yet, and hoped that she would make sense of his words and grant him permission to take them away. Surely it would make most sense for her because this would be her leader doing the cleaning up for her for free. Surely she could not decline such a fine offer.

this post and tokyo are both so weird. XD. 569 words, SSWM

Tokyo lived her life in a world of smoke and mirrors. The only beauty she had ever known was skin deep, so that was the level on which she preferred to float. And to be honest, a lot of the time she didn't fucking care at all about what was deeper. Intentions were meaningless, the only thing in the entire world that mattered was action and reaction. Had she known that his thoughts made lies of his words; had she known that he was disgusted and annoyed, not proud and tender, like his words made him out to be.. It wouldn't have made a whit of difference to her.

If anything, she might have been further impressed by her leader, amazed that he did so well at keeping his true feelings in check and saying the things she wanted to hear. The pride of a professional seeing good work by another hand. And besides, Tokyo would pick indulgence over honesty any day. Why bother trying to discover the truth if it would just upset you? Happiness, her happiness, was the only thing with any value in the whole damn world. If Haku was saying things to humor her, no matter how corrupt the motives, the act would merely be appreciated and taken simply as a kindness.

She beamed brilliantly at his words. Their son was perfect indeed.

Some part of her rarely touched and never consulted twinged in protest, though, at the idea of Haku, ah, "ending the suffering" of their daughter. But that was stupid. She was going to die; it was inevitable. She couldn't even nourish herself, the barest hint of winter would do her in shortly. It made sense, it made sense for him to take her. And yet it hurt, a little, which was also quite confusing and no bit terrifying. It shouldn't hurt. This was a little, disgusting, lightly-furred white rat. Why should Tokyo care about it at all? It couldn't think, couldn't see, couldn't hear. But it's very helplessness plucked strongly at her heartstrings.

She was sort of disgusted with herself, and shook her head as if trying to dislodge something form her brain. "Yes.. Ah, of course, it is kind of you to offer, thank you.. It's for the best, as you say. A shame, but it must be done. Thank you." So long practiced at faking emotion, the genuine thing still caught her off guard. It didn't feel.. quite as natural. Ironic, and sort of sad in a pathetic sense.

She glanced down at her infant daughter, licking smooth her lightly colored fuzz for the last time. A feeble mew escaped the child's mouth, and she felt it shivering under her touch. It was cool in the cave (for it was winter outside), but she should be warmer than that, pressed against her mother as she was. It had to have been pain. Haku was going to do the right thing, he was going to stop her from hurting, he was going to perform the only kind action left for this little child. Unable to breath.. Tokyo's fault, Tokyo's lungs, a genetic curse. The boy was strong, King was strong, that was what she had to remember, that was what she had to cling to. Wedging her cold wet nose between herself and the girl, she scooted her towards Haku to a chorus of more pathetic cries as the world became yet colder for the infant.

Both Haku and Tokyo are weird. SSWM 789

The way she so pleasantly beamed up at him almost caused his face to melt and turn truly sour. It was odd how much his face could withstand without allowing change to shatter its tranquil calm. Had Haku been an emotional man then Tokyo would have lied under him this very moment with a crush skull with blood gathering on the soft floor. Of course, the chocolate and cream male still could make sense of things and spot opportunities when they rose. Not always, but usually he could. Although he would forever be displeased with the fact that this foolishly named King lived and breathed the air in the same world as Haku, everything was not ruined. Far from it. People had expectations once there was some blood tying him together with something. Haku still knew nothing of his three living children in Aniwaya, for Tayui Aston had dealt with the pregnancy on her own like she was supposed to. If he had known about the result of that little one night stand then he would perhaps have felt some sort of gratefulness for the fact that she had brains enough to stay away and exclude him from their lives. It was only for the best, for Haku was a true failure as a father. It did not interest him the least, but he wanted to attempt to turn Tokyo’s – not his son, into a soldier that could be burned alive when he turned useless. Death awaited them all and he wanted Dahlia’s lives to find meaning before they were extinguished forever. It was the least he could do.

He was pleased to hear her voice agree with his humane suggestion. Oh, had she only known what his intentions really looked like. Would she have seen him as a monster? In fact he was surprised she could look at him and smile without fully faking. He had broken her and forced her into following his will. He had forced her into intercourse; he had raped her and left the scene smirking. He had ruined the lovely – yet pathetic – human dress that she had worn. He had ruined her entire day and did something that most creatures saw as the worst deed that could possibly be done and she could still smile at him naturally. Tokyo Chance was a very odd creature and it caused a part of him to actually like her. She was as fake as anything – her story was clear evidence of that, but he liked that. He too was a monster hidden behind a less monstrous mask. Those who truly knew him were dead. Not even Lillith Stormbringer knew fully what he was capable of – or so was the newly crowned Rosen’s belief. Lillith was losing favour quickly with the dark secui, because Cercelee had not been seen since the day he had stolen Dahlia de Mai away from her. His mind back reeled to come back to the present; Tokyo smiling so lovely at him. His lips curled upwards in a warm smile, although it was not true felt. He would never again get to feel such warmth. All thanks to the dark taint and the ruin it left behind.

Haku even took a slow and careful step towards the woman and stretched his neck out to nuzzle her incredibly soft fur. Oh, yes, Tokyo was an awful mother that had killed her own without hesitation. How could he not adore such a heartless act? She was beautiful on the outside – though so ugly on the inside. Haku did not see this as something ugly. He saw beauty in chaos and dark souls. He liked the woman better than he liked the majority of Dahlia’s members. She was ignorant and stupid, but he knew she had a dark core. He turned away from her and picked up the three dead bodies with more care than he thought them worthy of and carried them off. A few hundred feet away from her home he let them drop into the snow and turned immediately to retrieve the last, still breathing girl. As he again drew up to the woman, he lowered his muzzle to give the newly born male a soft nuzzle that was rewarded with an irritated squeak. Oh, the male would live. The Rosen would have to follow up on this one – pretend to care for a bit until the child was ready to be fully brainwashed. He then sought out the little girl, the one still breathing in desperation. Poor little thing, fighting for a life she could never have. ”Do you want to say goodbye?” Haku wondered now before it was time to remove the girl’s runt form.

srsssly. i sry for short! 315 words. one more post from you then done?

The visible affection written on Haku's face and in his actions pleased Tokyo immensely. It helped soothe the worry triggered by the darkness she had seen during the singular event of King's conception. She must be remembering wrong. Her terror at the cutting of her face and disgust at the coming act of sex must have biased her perception. The look on his face surely couldn't have been as horrible and twisted as she remembered. This was no monster. This was her leader.. and more. She had borne his son. He had forced her ultimate loyalty: Tokyo was his creature, and was proud of that. She was even a bit surprised about her lack of resentment, but.. well, what it came down to was she had this special relationship with someone who was in complete control of Dahlia de Mai. He had clout, and power, and the ability to cleverly twist situations to his favor.. And he had participated in the formation of this beautiful child, lying quiet until his father nuzzled him. Sitting simply, basking in all of his potential.

Haku took the stillborn children away, then returned and asked a question that Tokyo wasn't really sure how to answer. She did want to say goodbye.. But the body had already been scooted away. She had already spent her worry and distress in agreeing to this in the first place. As far as she was concerned, the little girl no longer existed as a living thing. "No.. It's okay. She's breathing at the moment, but as there's no hope for her to live she's already dead, and there is no point saying goodbye to a corpse." The words were simple, and made perfect sense to the woman. Her ice blue eyes fell to her son, and she fixedly studied his form so as not to have to watch the last little body being taken away.

He loved to see his puppets dance as he moved his bold strings. He was not a good puppet master, but those who were fooled were beautiful to watch as he fed them his deceit. He had been taken by surprise when she looked at her healthy child with adoration and not bloodlust, but that was just as well. He knew not what to do with this except for taking the child’s life and that would have been a bold and badly designed move. He needed the pack and could not risk any sort of open conflict within the pack. Inferni was bad enough and he did not doubt that they also had enemies in Cour de Miracles. Had he owned a bit more sense, Haku would have known that if this was the case then only a few individuals held hatred for Dahlia – or him, more precisely, but he had been pushed all the way to the edge and saw less and less sense as the darkness rapidly devoured the last parts of his sanity. He needed the big mouthed Tokyo to shut up and adore him and that she now did. The boy would stay. This time there would be no crazed Firefly to go berserk about the kid either. Heavenly peace.

He nodded at her words and moved over to gently nudge the fresh mother and then very carefully removed the small child that continued to fight death. In the past he would have acknowledged strength in this child, but he was too far out to see anything but his greed for all life. Tokyo’s lack of a mother’s tension and aggression had pleased him immensely; a sincere sign that she trusted and held positive feelings for him. Despite this obvious acceptance of his presence he made certain at all times to act calmly around her accompanied by soft and slow movements. The girl’s head shook in his grasp and she wheezed in great effort. He turned and left the mother and his newest child behind, walked until he reached the spot where he had placed the stillborns. For a moment the chocolate male stood still in the wintery scenery before his jaws crashed down heavily on the small living form in his jaws. A muffled squeak was all that could be heard and blood danced down his throat. Then he devoured the little female and her stillborn siblings. He found their taste exquisite.
