He had been reunited with his brother and that was all well and good but he couldn’t exactly depend on the slightly older male all of the time. Actually in this land it was more of a role reversal. He needed his brother to save him because his brother was the one that fitted in and had all the friends while he was something of an outcast still. Oh sure, he had been accepted into Inferni and shared his brother’s bed (no homo) but that was nothing like Germany where he had been the popular and accepted one. He had been the one expected to excel. Perhaps even to carry on the family name. Well, as long as his father never found out about his same sex conquests. Reading, writing, hunting, and fighting hadn’t been the only things that his Meister had taught him. Oh no, most certainly not. Though his father would never accept the knowledge if he had ever been informed. Marik would have just been shipped off like his brother had been. So he had been careful not to let his discretions be found out about. Not that he enjoyed the company of the same sex alone. He certainly wasn’t about to deprive anyone of his company. Male or female, coyote or other canine. And if he was desperate enough then other species of fauna as well. And that is why he had to make friends and fast. Just so that he wouldn’t get that desperate. He’d rather have the sort that would invite his advances. Not to say he hadn’t been known to force encounters when he was desperate. It was some primal urge that he couldn’t control. Hypersexuality, a true condition that he suffered from. He felt like he was going insane if he went without for too long. But he was okay for a few days yet. He’d gotten a parting gift of something from the boat ride and the mark was healing upon the back of his shoulder. It was just one of the many already covering his body; though mostly on his back, shoulders, and hips. Though there might be faint ones elsewhere that was still were the main congregation of them where.

But that had nothing to do with this trip, though it would be nice, instead he was just getting out of his brother’s hair. He was giving Cotl some time to himself. Not like the brothers had to spend all of their time together. Marik had to get out and explore the landmass he has arrived upon. Cotl had already had the opportunity to do just that. Actually it had been his brother to suggest heading into the direction that he had gone. Cotl had told him of how interesting the city was with the places to explore and the treasures to find. He certainly wouldn’t mind treasures. He would even bring back things for Cotl. It was the least he could do for Cotl taking him into his bed. And for telling him of a place to go and entertain himself rather than Marik having to hunt around on his own. Eh, Cotl was cold to most everyone but he was used to his brother’s wish for solitude. He knew why his brother liked it to. And well, his brother accepted him the way he was. Sure, Cotl didn’t agree with his lifestyle but he also had never tried to divert him from it. They had agreed that Cotl could keep on, but just so long as he wasn’t bringing them to the bed. It was an easy enough stipulation to live by. One that could be easily followed. And really there was a side to Cotl that most didn’t realize was there. His slightly older brother actually liked to cuddle at night. Rik should know since he usually be wrapped up in his brother’s arms when it was time to sleep. And surprisingly it was Cotl that would insist seeing as how Marik was the physical one. But now it was just an unspoken tradition. Time to sleep meant snuggle time. Which made Marik wonder what Cotl had done the entire time that Marik had been making the trip to this place. Had his brother found someone else to snuggle with during that time? If he did then they weren’t inhabiting his brother’s bed now that he was around. Not with Marik around to reclaim it.

The coyote hybrid had ignored the smaller homes within the city and had made his way to a large building. Why mess with the smaller stuff when there was something so big that was begging to be invaded. And invade he must. But it was massive and he had no idea where to begin first. Which is why he just walked into one of the first buildings he came to. And how lucky was he but to walk into the one that contained the bound volumes of paper? He was still curious as to how paper was made exactly. It was something that he wanted to recreate. Something that had interested him greatly. And it boggled his mind that he hadn’t figured it out yet. But one of these days, at least that is what he vowed to himself. If he couldn’t figure it out for himself then he would find someone that knew. Find someone and get them to tell him how. Or maybe one of the tomes in this place contained the secret knowledge that he so desperately wanted. But it wasn’t the books that had count his attention first. Oh no, it was some sort of strange box. He moved over to the box, also known as a computer, and poked it. It was weird. It didn’t seem to have a lid. How were things to be stored then? And it was while he was looking over the strange box and shifting it around on top of the table that he ended up dropping it and breaking it. At least he figured out how to get it open without a top to it. But the inside was weird. There were all these metal bits inside of it. It was strange. Marik knelt and fingered through them. He would have to take come of these things back to Cotl and see what he thought of them.

a bit crappy; ilu! will post better when I'm more awake! <33 wc: 429

There was only so much a girl could do! Addison had tried her best to make him like her, had tried all her best moves. She'd never stolen from him and had been pretty friendly to him every time they'd seen each other. So why hadn't he accepted what she'd been offering? Was she ugly or something? The female pulled a small, stolen mirror out of her pocket, flipping it open so she could take a look at herself. Yep. She had guessed right--she was ugly! She snapped it shut again, shoving it back into that pocket. After Hemming hadn't responded she had taken off for the city to find something to take her mind off of everything.

The chestnut-colored female had found a bar, first, one of the ones that she often visited when she was in the city. Not the same one that she'd met up with Daisuke in, but one that had looked eerily similar. Maybe all the bars in this city looked the same...who knew. In any case, she'd found herself a nice bottle of rum and had taken to the streets once more.

How she'd ended up in the library of the university, though, she wasn't quite sure. She had gone into the elevator and had waited for it to take her up, like she'd seen in books, but it hadn't done that. It hadn't done anything. So she had taken to the stairs, instead. She could trust stairs! Soon after that she'd found herself in this place. Addi wasn't really sure what to make of it, this library. It was nothing like the other library that she had visited when she was younger. All these books looked so...scientific. They were really thick! She walked up a few different aisles, taking drinks from her bottle as she scanned the shelves with one blue and one yellow eye. The yearling was interested in these titles...would there be any books on dating like she'd found in the last library?

She needed one that would really work, a dating book that would tell her how to get Hemming for herself. She pulled one off the shelf that looked promising, flipping through a few of the pages. No! This was the same book that had told her to just go for it with him! She growled and threw the book on the floor. Screw this library! She poured a bit of the alcohol onto the horrible book and lit one of her matches, tossing it down onto the dating guide. Burn! All the books could burn!

The acrid smell of burning pages was what had drawn his attention in the first place. Who would dare do something like that? Marik actually liked books. But then again he liked to learn. He wanted to know everything. But that was just the way he was. He was curious. While he might not do anything with the knowledge he gained he still wanted it. He just enjoyed learning but wasn’t into the mastery part. He wanted to know so that he can use it in case he needed it but he didn’t want to be so adept at it that it was expected of him to perform such things all of the time. At least that was his way with things. He didn’t like being forced into repetition. He’d had enough of that with his own dad already. His father had expected much more than Marik was will to put the time and effort into. All of the coyote’s hopes and wishes and landed on him. All because Cotl’s ticks were more obvious than his own. He had never asked to be favored. In fact he escaped as often as he could just to be lazy with his brother. Growing up hadn’t been exactly the best but he loved Germany. Honestly he’d rather be there than stuck here in Canada. He had friends back home in Germany. He was having to start over here in Germany and having such rotten luck at it. He hadn’t made a single friend yet and it was starting to make him feel deprived. Especially since his friends were always the with benefits type. He didn’t have that here. No one to turn to in order to rid him of the physical pain that he felt whenever he went without. It was just no fun at all. So while he was glad to get away from all of the rules and such he wasn’t liking having to miss all of his friends. But it was something he had to put up with since he promised Cotl that he was staying. And it wasn’t like he could break his promise to his brother.

The coyote and dog mix left behind the broken storage box, those metal bits still concealed in his hand. He headed towards the smell of the burning pages. And he was taken aback by who the deviant was. Certainly not someone he had met before, he didn’t really know of too many wolves in Germany. But it was more of the gender that surprised him. There was a chick causing damage. If only it had been anything but the books he might have bowed down and worship her. Not that such a thing was entirely off the menu. “You really shouldn’t be doing that. Some of them are really neat.” Not that his comment was too harsh. It wasn’t a huge bonfire yet. Just one book that it didn’t seem as if he would have a real interest in anyways. Which was why he moved around it and pulled a different book from the shelf. It was some sort of religious text. At least that was how Marik interpreted the words. Kama Sutra. It was a bible. “See? Look at this one.” He spoke the words as he flipped open the pages. Pages with very interesting depictions upon it. “It’s a bible. You can’t burn the bible.” He paused and took a closer glance at the pages. “A very interesting bible…” He spoke the words slowly before breaking out in a grin. “I’ve practiced this one before!” He pointed to one of the depicted and described positions. He would have to take this particular book. He already had a head start on his practice of worship but this would help him out greatly. He would have to be devout and get through all of the pages. But this also made him really miss his friends back home in Germany. There he would be able to get through his bible quickly. Here he would have to struggle with it. But wasn’t that just standard in religions. That you had to struggle in your practice?

He closed the book and held it down by his side. He ended up pulling another one from the shelf. Something about a happy man’s bible. He didn’t bother to flip through this one. He figured he could look it over back in Inferni but it was something else for his collection. But that collection was starting to fill his hands. He needed something to carry his items in. At least he would know that for next time. Oh, and he still had to find those blankets. “Would you know where to get blankets from? My brother asked me to bring him back a couple of them.” For all he knew she could have traveled through here more often than he had. This was his first trip after all. So even if she had only been here once before it would still be more than him. “Or maybe you could just join me in finding a bed.” The slightly flirty words were spoken with a partial grin and a wink. It was true that he wanted to find a bed. Where else would you find blankets but on a bed? But still the implications of finding a bed together could easily be read as something not quite so innocent. And right about now Marik wouldn’t mind that not so innocent implication. After all she was a beautiful young female. Wolf or not, it didn’t matter to him. He wasn’t strictly coyote after all. Actually he got more of his mom’s genes than his brother had. So he didn’t really come off as coyote straight off at first. Not with his floppy ears. Though right now they were standing erect.

“By the way, I’m Marik Ulrich.” Those heavily German accented tones were made even more obvious as he spoke his own name. By why shouldn’t it with it being a German name? Of course it would be more enhanced on German words. “So are you coming along, schöne dame?” He asked with an offering of his arm to act as an escort. Of course he had mixed German into his words. He did it with his brother often. He didn’t even pause to consider that she might not understand what he was saying. It was a compliment of course. He had only called her a beautiful lady instead of something vulgar. He had been trying to stay away from the Germanglish but he still slipped into it every so often.

"No, none are. They tell you things to do...and when ya do them it doesn't turn out right." She had been staring at the little pile of flames until he spoke and she now stared up at him. Hmmm. What a peculiar-looking animal. Addison observed his pelt colors and odd eyes for a few moments as they stood there together, trying to decide exactly what he was. He broke her out of her trance by showing her another book, calling it a "bible". What was a bible? She frowned, then leaned in to look at the picture he was talking about. What were those humans doing?"I don't understand what they're doing...are they dancin'?"

For all her talk, Addison had next to no experience in the romantic department. She knew that she wanted Hemming in that way, that her body screamed for him whenever they touched, but beyond that she was clueless. She needed someone to teach her things like that so that she could practice them on the male. "There is supposed to be a nurse's office here, since this is a school and all. So if we find it we should find some blankets..." She cut off as he said the next part, her eyes widening. Find a bed, huh?

She was beginning to become flustered but tried to fight off the feeling, clearing her throat. She'd only just met him...and what did he mean by finding a bed? Addi had never done anything like that before...but she really wanted to know what to do with Hemming next time she saw him. She was going to get HIM in bed whenever she found the next opportunity. "I'm coming. And we'll just have to see what beds we can find...I've never been on a bed myself, and I'd like to try it out" They were filled with innuendo, her words, giving away her secret about her sex life. Addi smiled at his odd accent and choice of words, unsure of what "schone" meant, but took it as a positive word. She took his arm.

“Maybe you just aren’t doing them exactly right then.” But then again Marik had never studied a dating book before. Most of his texts were instructional volumes. Ones that gave exact step by step instructions on how to construct something. Or things along those lines. The ones he read told exactly how to craft something. He didn’t read fluff. He just picked up things that told him how to accomplish what he wanted done and provided him with images of the construction. Dating books were beyond him. But it wasn’t like he really wanted to date anyways. He just wanted “friends” like he had back in Germany. That was all he was really worried about. He wasn’t the relationship sort. He couldn’t do monogamy. He couldn’t turn anyone that wanted him down. That was just the way that he was.

The look she was giving him was one he was used to getting his whole life. He didn’t have the typical coyote look though that is what half of his blood is made of. But he didn’t look exactly like a dog either, though that is what the other half of his genetics was. He was stuck on middle ground without any real indication as to what he was. Except for maybe a pincushion and canvas given all of his piercings and tattoos. And of course a foreigner, with his accent and all. But as to where he could actually belong, it doesn’t show through. But he was accepted as the coyote he didn’t strictly look like. But that could be because of his brother’s influence. After all Cotl had more of their father’s looks than he did. Marik just turned out looking more like their mother. None ever seemed to be able to tell just what he was at a glance. Not unless he told what he was. But any that had met his brother could tell that they were related. That was perhaps the only things that he had going for him. Probably the only reason he was part of the clan now.

He couldn’t keep from laughing at her question. “Dancing? No, of course not. They are practicing religion.” That was certainly one way to put it. Of course he could have been more blunt about it. But he did have some sense of decency after all. “They are doing what makes them both feel good and happy.” This was spoken from experience. After all he had just said that he had already done such a thing. Only now was he finding out it was a religious practice as well. How was that? He had a religion all along. And back in Germany he had been a faithful practitioner all along. When he got back to the room he would just have to enlighten his brother that he had religion all along. Wouldn’t that just come as a shock to the slightly older male?

“Do you know where that is?” After all he had no clue where anything was in this place. And well if a bed was found then blankets would be found. To him it was the only logical explanation. Find a bed then the blankets Cotl wanted would be there. That was the exactly way that his thought processes went. Well, maybe not exactly for somewhere in there was bodies in tangled sheets. But still, bed equaled blankets. But then her words caught him by surprise a bit. Hey wait, was she flirting back? Hinting at things? He grinned as she took his offered arm. His head then became tilted to that he could whisper in her ear with that deep voice of his. “When we find a bed then we will just have to try it together, hm?” He headed out of the library and into the rest of the building with his bibles tucked under one arm and a wolf hanging onto the other.
