Small snow flakes danced through the air, so light they seemed to ride the wind for ages before cascading gracefully among the rest of their fallen brethren. It was a sad sort of storm, flurries under a midday sun from clouds that were neither menacing nor dreary. It was pleasant, the temperate the only true thing that made traveling tiresome. The tawny female wandered, though with each paw step she made certain not to come too close to lands that were not hers. The borders of Dahlia de Mai were far from safe, though Anu did not realize that she was not the only beast weary of the territory. There was a war brewing, beyond her knowledge and beneath her nose. The Dreamer had cross through the city in order to give the large pack a wide birth. And then silver tipped femme had headed north once the city had lost its concrete and become pure wilderness once more. It was when the snow had begun.

The Manor had been quiet when she had slipped away so early that morning, briefly saying her goodbyes and then headed west and not looking back. Her business was vague, and it made her insecure to not know exactly where to find those she sought. Neither the Dreamers nor she personally, had any true tie to the coyote clan, and still Anu wished to see how Gabriel faired. Though he was never truly warm in his mannerism towards her, Anu found him as a friend. She trusted the doggish hybrid, seeing his spiritualism and faith similar to her own and even his distrust of her species intrigued her. Even if she was not welcome, Anu traveled closer. Their scent filtered to her nose, as lightly as the flakes of ice that rode the same wind. Slowly and carefully the wolfess meandered her way towards the coyote border. She was nervous, never having come to the boundary in search of a clan member. Her nose graced the top layer of snow, testing the ground first and then the air in search of the invisible line.

Blue eyes looked into the forbidden lands. She had yet to come across a floating head, and braced herself for the moment she was sure would come. Perhaps the words of Inferni’s leader should have haunted her, the less wolves at our borders the better She should have stayed away, and yet Anu wandered closer. The female was normal not so reckless, but perhaps the coy-clan had lessened in its eerie persona, since Dahlia was now her least favorite lands to enter. The Crimson Dreamer slowed, almost stopping completely. She felt the change in the air; the scent unmistakable. The owned land she walked upon might as well have burned her paws, a front foot dangled in the air in insecurity and unknowing, and the trespasser lost her courage and slowly turned to go home.

Vieira was on the borders again but this time she was not as close to them as she should have been. They did not feel safe to her but Kaena insisted weeks ago that she do it and since Vieira did not object. She went and did as she was told and tried to avoid anything if she could. Often times she checked them in the morning and there was not much of anything on the outskirts but today it was a little later and a scent caught her attention. Her ears fell to the back of her head as she listened, the sounds of snow crunching beneath the other and her own paws as she moved.

The slave moved up to the border to see a large canine moving away from the border. If the other did not want to linger around, Vieira was all right with that. She disliked this job and preferred little to no contact if she could. Instead of turning away, Vieira lingered in the open and watched to make sure the other disappeared before she returned to have a least one good report.

The woman faced the outside world conflicted. She had great reason to be, knowing that it was unlikely that she was welcomed here and yet still hoping to venture forth with in the territory. The tawny female faltered in her steps as she lingered on the border with her black nose pointed towards home. Would she give up that easily? The Lt General remembered her place among her own pack, and though rank matter not in a land not her own, Anu would be diligent in her responsibility to them. Communicating with fellow leaders was necessary, and if she could simply find Gabriel then Anu would not be seen as a rouge trespasser for long. The Dreamer had questions for him, though simple and even vague. Yet she could not help but wonder if he would simply have no time for her. Instead of overcomplicating it Anu turned with a new found bravery and caught the sight of a coyote in the not too far distance.

The wolf paused, fighting against the wind to take in its scent. The canine looked lean and slight from were Anu stood, and she pressed closer in hopes of giving a friendly greeting. That was what she was of course, nothing less then a friend. Anu, nor the pack she represented, would hope to be any but cordial to another non-threatening creature. Of course Anu held her resentments, as weak as they were, but none lived with in Inferni and she did not see the small creature that stood before her as one that would gain that title. As she approached Anu turned to the pristine form of neutrality. Her body held as little tension as she could manage and her tail flowed lowered behind her. The blue eyed female gave a small smile, and in her attempt to kill the distance that separated them took in the golden shade the other wore.

Pleasantly Anu called to her,
“Hello there.”

The other caught on to being watched and Vieira held her breath, staring ahead and trying to figure out how to get out of this. She could not find a way and she was stuck, having to stand awkwardly and find out what the other wanted. The others voice was gentle and welcoming and Vieira did not decide to turn tail and run away as fast as she could. And how would she report that to Kaena, anyway? That she found someone on the borders and she ran away? "Hello," she responded softly and stared at the woman's feet and tried to come up with something to fill the void between them.

Vieira had never done anything like this. She did not greet strangers except at the door of her owners. Astaroth and Sivaro did not let her go far from them except to the market but most of the time they went with her. Her ears fell back and she gritted her teeth. It was not like her to pry into others, but she had gathered that was what she was supposed to do her. "Can I... do something for you?" she asked, her tail flicking before it settled neatly between her back legs and rested.

Blue eyes looked at the light golden female, watching her meek response to her approach. Such a thing was odd, to the Dreamer, since she was standing on lands that did not belong to her. But, Anu was not one to judge another who sought to pass through life with a humble demeanor. She, herself was likely to meet another with a less then courageous appearance. Time had changed since her promotion those months and months ago, and it had taken some time for her to fit into it well. Anu was now comfortable with the idea that she was a second in command, that it was a position that claimed respect and that if she needed it a little weight to throw around. She hadn’t found the need, nor the want to use the power that she had been granted. Anu was certainly not the type. Instead she smiled at the other female, whose voice was as soft as her own.

The Dreamer settled before the Inferni fey, her question not so easily answered. The uneasy look upon her face made Anu slightly of balanced, having expected a bit more defiance and conflict as she approached the borders of a warring land. But, this was appreciated. And it was important for her to be honest with such a soft and gentle creature, one who greeted her with no aggression. The tension was tangible, but it was not the same as what Anu had expected.

“I am not sure.” Anu spoke with an honest and thoughtful tone. It was true, Anu was unsure what she was even doing at her borders and what she was looking for. The woman looked away, searching for it and instead she simply stated,
“I’m Anu, from Crimson Dreams.” her nose pointed towards where she came from, as if to say that she was from right over there. She wore a small smile, as she turned and looked back at the other.

Vieira did not feel her answer was helpful and she just stared at the ground for a long moment and waited. A moment later, the other introduced herself and she registered the name for later when she returned to Kaena. It would be her report for the day but she needed to get a little bit more information so if and when she was question, she did not have many blanks. She did not want to upset the older woman. "My name is Vieira Lykoi," she said and left off her title. Kaena did not seem pleased when she explained to Rikka what she was and she supposed she did not want anyone outside Inferni to know much about the workings of the clan. It made a little sense, if only what she could grab from common knowledge, but she lacked on the idea of how things really worked in pack politics.

"Why did you come he-here?" she asked with a bit of a struggle. It was not in her nature to ask questions but she had learned it was the purpose. She had to do it and she had to force herself to open up and make sure she got the information, even if it was not very helpful. It meant she was proving herself to be useful to Kaena other than the regular cooking and cleaning that was a whole lot of repetition. Her golden gaze shot up slightly to get a look of the wolf but it did not last long and she stood back and waited.

Eyes watched for for another few stolen glances. Blue orbs did not settle on her for any extended period of time, feeling like the other female felt the pressure of her gaze. The Inferni member's own unease filtered through the air and settled onto Anu heavily. She had expected to meet a coyote that held no compassion for her or her concerned cause, settled on the fact that Anu was certainly trespassing and hoped to shoo her away from angry snarls and snapping jaws. Wolves were not welcome here, a notion Anu knew all too well. But, instead she was met for the low cast eyes of the yellow tinged female. On one of her passing glances Anu noticed the ring in her septum, finding it odd but put nothin past the unknown rituals of the coyote clan. For all she knew it was an ornament given to those of high placement among the ranks. Though perhaps it was for those that showed caring with the pack's youth, for she could see the modest fey doing such a thing. Now with her name Anu spoke softly, still afraid that she might startle her enough to scare her away.
"Nice to meet you." Polite, quiet in tone.

Oh," Anu exclaimed at the females next question. of course she had come for a reason, but did not know if the coyote would be able to help in her search. She had found the border of these lands long, and knew that they extended all the way towards the mountain, thanks to Kaena's explanation. It would be hard to find a single beast among all the land they owned, if there was not a central location that the clan gathered in, like Haven Manor.
"I was coming in search of Gabriel." Anu explained in response. Adding in wonderment,
"Have you seen him?".

The woman asked about Gabriel, Inferni's leader, and she shook her head slowly. The man was intimidating and she felt like she shook the entire time she was around him. If she understood the working of ranks in a pack, aside from a master and slave sort of thing, she would know he was a great leader. But she could not wrap her mind around such a thing and she never brought it up. Instead, she focused on the happiness of Kaena and nothing else because it always resorted back to that woman.

"No, ma'am, I have not," she said in a soft voice, meek and reserved. Her shoulders twisted in a shrug but she wanted to be helpful if she managed it all the way here. "I can get him for you?" she offered though it was evident she was uncomfortable out here. She did not want to turn her back on the woman but she did not like to be louder than she had to. She could call for the leader but she made no other offer and waited to see if the woman wanted such a think.

The news of war was not something Anu ever wished to dwell on. And now, as her friendship with the Inferni leader grew and as always her own responsibilities in Crimson Dreams Anu could not simply look away and try to ignore it. For the pack, most importantly, Anu needed to always think of how to keep relations with her neighbors pleasant and a bond as close to an alliance as she could. Of course there would always be differences, but small ones could easily placed aside. She did not believe that the encounters with Gabriel would forge their packs together, but Anu had originally come for him and him alone. The fact that she had not seen him recently made Anu move to other operatives.

Anu shook her head, knowing that interrupting him would only poor manners on her part. Instead Anu declined politely,
“No, he shouldn’t be bothered. I guess I hoped to run into him.” her voice soft and a smile on her face. The female was far more timid then Anu might expect in her own lands. But Anu was the one intruding, and these were not times that held long moments for recreational conversation.
“I know that these are troubled time, for your clan.”she attempted to explain, showing that she did understand how her presence here might bring unease to the female.
“But, the peaceful always have friends in Crimson Dreams.” she continued, awkwardly trying to spread the word that those that wished it, could seek rest and refuge in her borders.
The woman turned down her offer to help and her gaze lifted slightly but it did not get far. The slave did not know what to do at this point and for now, she lingered in silence. She expected the other to come up with something else to say or to talk about and Vieira decided she would not contribute unless she had to. If the woman wanted nothing else, Vieira had nothing to offer her. She would remain until the other was gone, she could get that much, only because Kaena had told her so. The other was not a threat or a joiner or seemed to need anything else and therefore she did not make a call to find the woman. Her golden eyes remained blank and uninterested, the idea of war lingering on the back of her mind where she did not bring it forth.

"Can I help you with anything else?" she asked, her tail giving a slight twitch to show that she was trying to be polite. She had nothing to offer and she was socially awkward, often times making things like a random meet and greet difficult to achieve. Anu would not last long in her memory and Vieira did not expect the same. Perhaps the strange girl from Inferni but she was not important, less significant than an average omega. Vieira expected little from everyone when they expected so much from her.
fail... sorries ;.;

The Dreamer stood before the Inferni member, wondering where all of the silence was coming from. A smiled played with her features, and Anu was hoping that she might form a sort of acquaintance with the younger female. Still, even though she attempted to open the floor to conversation there was nothing more then a simple question that came from Vieira. Anu did not need anything form the girl, though she wished to bridge the gap between the clan and the wolves that she knew they hated and feared.

"No." She answered, but she did not turn away as the golden coyote might have hoped. The wolfess watched with wondering eyes, a question at the tip of her tongue and Anu found it hard to leave without knowing. Conversations with Gabriel had put the ideas in her mind that all that followed him felt the same resentment as he did towards her species. Though she trusted the hybrid, and she felt he trusted her, he would never trust wolves as a whole.

The thought lingering in the back of him might have pushed her to ask,
"Did I say something to offend you?" Anu did not know all the customs of every creature, and she was worried that she had indeed said something during her ramble. Her voice was not harsh with assumption, nor did she want to pose an accusation. Still, she could not help but hope to know.

With the simple no Anu gave her, she was sure she would turn and go back the way she had come. However, the wolf did not move and Vieira's awkward level lifted several more notches and it topped the charts. She did not think it could get worse but she knew she could not turn tail and go back to the caves to give her report. She had to wait, and even if the sun was going to come down on them by the end of the day, she would not be able to go. Vieira would have to stay out here past the time she was supposed to be back and submit to whatever punishment would have in store for her. It did not matter that she was out here assisting a trespasser and making sure she was not a threat.

The woman's next question gave Vieira a start and she glanced upward but found nothing she was looking for. "N-no," she said quietly and stared at the cold ground with no other answer. It was strange to be asked that but she put it behind her. She was simply an awkward girl wishing to have no communication with someone she did not know. She was forced to do something she did not want to do because she could not object and for the time being she could not see that this was better than being punished. Later, she would find out that it might have been when she would be attacked by a large wolf while she was returning to the caves.

Anu was a patient creature, have helped raise a little of four energetic pups and being the second command of her pack. With her age came experience and Anu had experienced plenty of different reactions. Still, the female could not remember the last time she had found someone who so obviously did not want to speak with her, and yet she did not walk away or ask Anu to leave. The coyote acted even stranger then the most submissive wolf of hybrid she had ever met. The Dreamer waited, looking for that change in reaction as she opened the field up for any resentment Anu figured she was politely hiding. Still nothing.

Blue eyes watched her face, noticing the discomfort. Just as she was patient Anu was aware that she had indeed very much over stayed her welcome. Even though there were things that Anu had been searching for, and she still wished to ask more of the Inferni member. But Anu didn't think that she was willing to give it, and perhaps she was incapable. A soft smile came to her face, and as the other might have been wishing since the moment they came upon each other Anu turned to head back to the lands that were hers. Anu just wouldn't push her way through boundaries that Vieira had been placed around herself.
