There was something new about that place, something that made Alex’s heart beat so loud you could almost hear it if you paid attention. The way those long forsaken houses grew covered in the untamed greenness of the forest, the way the clouds almost touched the green tips of the trees, the smell of rust and grass alongside the mild sound of wilderness made that new piece of world so fascinating for her that she almost forgotten she was long gone from the familiar, safe cover of her pack lands.

It took her a few good minutes to sniff the area and figure the new land didn’t belonged to anyone. The fact that she didn’t trespassed came as a relive for the still weak and thin female. Since she joined her new pack things started to straighten up bit by bit. Her leg was now much better than it was when she first came here and she started to gain weight slowly but surely. It was still a long way to go until she was perfectly recovered but with her new pack chances were that was going to happen pretty smoothly. Weirdly enough for her, Alex managed to stay out of trouble for some time now and although she wanted very bad to meet new wolves circumstances always threw her in lonely situations.

There was some certain thing that seemed to eat up pretty much of her spare time. Not very long after she joined the pack, Alex discovered a strange building with long chairs and weird crossed sticks that intrigued and attracted her in the same time. It was only later when she started to figure out what that really was, after she discovered a basement full of books and candles. Though she learned reading Alex had quite a hard time understanding what those weird books spoke about but soon enough she started to catch up and learn more and more by the day. It was sad though to read only that kind of books in which saints and angels played very important roles and people worshiped them. She couldn’t quite understand why that happened but decided to take it all as a nice lecture. Only recently she discovered a bigger book with a cross on it –that’s how she figured that sign was called- which spoke of many interesting things. Still it was the same “human fiction” Alex started to get tired of. That was the main reason she came here in the first place. She needed new books…

After some time the woman decided to step aside alittle and relax. Only now she realized she hasn’t paused since she left home and her leg was starting to hurt alittle. After a minute of thinking she took out the a book from the medium sized backpack she found and started to read. The Bible –as she read it was called- revealed lots of interesting names and situations and gave reasons for human existence better than anyone ever told her. It was though very unlike for Alex to really believe everything she read. It just seemed to good to be true. Her amber eyes rolled over the pages revealing words she knew and words she had no idea of but she just skipped lines and pages, reading only what seemed more…adventurous. Floods and fires, sins and sinners, humans and angels, everything unfolded in her mind making her imagination go wild. If one could make the waters retreat than everything was possible.

After a while, Alex dropped the book in the grass an rose to clear her mind. If one simple book like that could make things look so real what was going to happen with one really good? That question flooded her mind as the woman started to twist it on it’s every sides, imagining answers and situations. It was her twisted imagination that make everything seem plausible. And that kind of scared her. Was it possible to actually live through your mind? She liked the idea and smilled as she welcomed the countless possibilities that followed. If it only was possible…Her eyes remained set on a small cloud in the sky as she pictured places and images and faces she never saw. It was an endless world she had acces to and no one to join her in that dream. It was sad and nice in the same time. No one could ever break down that perfect world she lived in. A smile broke her serious frame as a tear made it’s way out those so serious hazel eyes. Was it possible? Alex kept staring at the cloud that grew smaller in the distance as she layed on the ground one hand on the book and the other under her head. It was weird she chose the optime form this time but she didn’t cared. It was all too good to notice a too long arm or a weird height.

It was finally a relief to be able to walk around and not feel trapped by her own mind. In the weeks since the first appearance of her guardian wolf, Brooklyn had retreated so much into silent study and thought that she was sure she would go mad. But slowly, as the days grew shorter and the cold fingers of winter grasped the lands, she came alive once more. The irony, of course, was not lost on her and indeed she felt more and more joyful. Even with the snow, the frost, the cold nights when there was no sleep to be had, Brooklyn still wanted to explore. Lately, she had met new and interesting faces but something deep in her soul told her that this calm would not last. There was a storm gathering and she could not say what path her pack would take. Sure, she wasn't anywhere near the high ranks, not as high as Mati even, but she knew that whatever path Anu and Savina chose, it would be the right one. They had survived through dark times and now, it would not be about them. Whatever this foreboding would bring, it did not start in Crimson Dreams. That thought alone was enough to comfort her.

The woods provided shelter and a chance to avoid company she did not need to see. Not because they annoyed her, not at all, but because she did not know what to say to some of them. What could she possibly say to Mati? After all this time, what could she share with her sister that would bring them together? She was still avoiding her mother, it seemed, a somewhat reckless endeavour, all things considered. But for now, she didn't want to break the illusion she had in her head. The old wolf had not reprimanded her for being so inconsiderate, but she knew it was only a matter of time until it happened. He would not be pleased with her. No matter what Naniko had done, she was still family, he would argue. And he was right. But she needed to mend ties with siblings who loved her before she looked to a mother who had, to all intents and purposes, left the pack for her own gain. It was with these thoughts in mind that she spotted an unfamiliar wolf. A female. She carried a scent Brooklyn had not encountered before.

Slowly, the white female approached the stranger, careful not to startle her. She seemed to be reading, but what exactly the book was, the girl couldn't tell. It was old and certainly quite big, but nothing she'd seen around the manor. Cocking her head to the side, she softly called out, Hello? Please don't be scared, I won't hurt you. It was the truth. She was too afraid that she might get into trouble. The other female didn't seem in such a good physical condition, but it was no guarantee that she was alone. The last thing Brooklyn needed was to somehow cause trouble for her pack.

The new voice made the black woman twitch. She never expected a stranger out there since everything seemed almost forsaken but to her surprise there it was, a white wolf ensuring her of her good intention. Well not necesarely good but surely peaceful. It was a preety female and the idea of finally having someone to chat with was tempting. It took Alex a few seconds to asses the situation and realise she was still laying rudely on the ground in a form that always seemed to bother her, staring at a stranger with a silly smile on her face. For some reason the stranger reminded her of one of her old friends back in her original pack.

Don't worry. Alex's warm voice sounded clearely but not very loud as she raised in a more propriete position. She was somehow ashamed of what her posture was but decided not to pay to much attention to it. Sorry for that. Her frame got lightened up by a strange smile. I was just lost in my...mind... She laughed allitle than shook her fur to look better. Indeed the move helped alot and after a few seconds the all dusty female was again a fluffy, thin ball of fur. the truth was that the fur was probably the only thing that managed to hide her still obvious ribs though in optime form her poor situation was a little more obvious that usual.

Setting her hazel eyes on the white frame of the newcomer she wandered if she was tresspassing. The thought scared her since she knew no one liked strangers on their lands. Yet she senced no claiming of that place. Have i tresspassed? Her voice sounded on the most innocent tone she could come up with though a personal deep voice wishpered in her head "again...". The female stopped and stood patient watching every change in the woman's espressions to figure if she was in trouble again or just about to make a new friend. the idea made her smile but her tenssed body was the obvious proof she still considered flying an option.

It wasn't like Alex wanted to cause trouble but since she seemed preety build up for that she tryed her best to stay out of it. She didn't wanted to picture the results of herself being dragged to her packlands by a stranger and thrown away in front of that weird alpha. She could almost taste the blood when she evan thought of that possibility and since her pack already had bigger things to deal with, the woman only wanted to stay out of trouble. At least a while.

She heard of trouble coming to the packlands from some rumors back home but had no idea what was actually going to happen. The thought of war made her heart race and the idea of being part of it made her smile with satisfaction. It was that side of her she always tryed to lock away but danger only set her off and the perspective of helping her new family was delightful. Her condition though wasn't exactly the one of a fighter right now. Her leg healed but still hurt when she puched it and there was the chance of that broken bone to crack back if she wasn't careful and her overall wickness was not helpful eighter. But she was told she'll take part in that. And that was a nice idea...whatever was going to happen.
