sometimes, it's better

The wintery day seemed to be a long one, the cold breeze rustling through through the snow covered evergreens. The silence of winter was upon the world, no animal or bird was out, but rather staying in their dens or nests to escape the cold snap. Snow blanketed the soft earth as the Nuncio of Phoenix Valley walked along, making footsteps that dug a bit into the snow. He was bound to nowhere really, only for a walk.

Pendzez just walked along, eventually picking up the scent of a familiar pack border. He was quick to identify that it was AniWaya, the pack that was south-west of Phoenix Valley. Pendzez didn't really have business in AniWaya, but he should share some intel that he obtained. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to share some of the info, since his was his duty as a Ambassador. He approached the border with caution, eventually stopping before he stepped another foot into the territory. He let out a howl to make his presence known to anyone who hears it.

Thank you for starting this out. (:

This winter had proven to be a little more harsh than usual, especially for the young Amara who had been all by herself out in the open and in the wilderness before she made her second return back to the tribe lands. For one thing, Asha didn't regret a second of it, no matter how frigid it was, or how deep the snow piled up. Her adventures away from AniWaya had her return to the tribe lands as a more mature, optimistic individual, more than anything. As much as she enjoyed her time out in the open, however, nothing in the entire existence of the world could beat the prospect of being home again. Asha might have traveled nearly hundreds of miles, but she would always trial hundreds of miles back to AniWaya. Always.

This winter had left the land sullen, tomb silent. The snow could prove to be fun and even beautiful, but Asha had preferred the lush greenery of the spring and summer a lot more than the winter. It seemed like Aidan did as well, as her bronco mulled through the ankle deep layer of the snow, occasionally giving a snort here and there for his discontentment of this. Deal with it, would only be the Amara's reply. Since her return there was plenty to catch up on, as Asha had left off with pursuing her role as a warrior for AniWaya. In times such as these, it might prove to be a useful duty to have in a tribe. Unknowing to the war that was brewing between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni, Asha would soon come to realize how vital a warrior's duty would benefit.

For now, the red she-wolf was skulking the border of AniWaya with Aidan. There was nothing particularly out of the ordinary on this day, until a howl rang out clear and cut through the grayed skies. Her ears had straightened, attempting to identify the particular tune of the howl, but couldn't discern it as anything recognizable from her memory bank. Tapping Aidan on his flank with her heel, she bode her steed to the direction of the source of the howl. Once reaching that point, there was an unfamiliar presence of a white furred individual. There was nothing about him that looked utterly familiar to her, and as Aidan and Asha halted at a comfortable distance, she observed the visitor from the high top of her equine. "Greetings, traveler. You called out to the AniWaya?" Asha inquired. Her tone was not friendly nor rude, but quite neutral of itself for now.

Pendzez waited in silence as his presence was known. He was simply awaiting the arrival of a member at least. He thought it would have been the right thing to inform the other packs about the war, even if they may already know about it. However, he also felt to inform them to watch certain areas when venturing to the North-East. Dahlia had set some traps that should be watched out for.

Pendzez ears perked up when he heard a voice. As he turned, he found a young AniWayan female sitting on a horse. At least it was a member, it didn't really matter if it wasn't a leader, though a leader would be better, but this member can inform them, correct? "Good day, young miss. I'm Pendzez Zazkex, Nuncio of Phoenix Valley. I come to cause no trouble." He announced himself formally and correctly he could. "I trust you know about the war?"

Studying him for a moment upon her high horse, the individual was quite tall for his kind, and largely built. He appeared to be like someone who could be of use for a territory's guardian, maybe even a back up in a time of conflict. Everything in this world always appeared so super sized to the Ayastigi, due to the fact that she herself was so little for her age. There was a notable scar that was apparent on his muzzle, and she briefly wondered if that had been the result of something to do with his size in a conflict. As he began to speak, his mannerisms in his voice and his introduction were friendly and informative. Not too many had that approach anymore in the world, and Asha had appreciated that at least there were some guys out there who were still kind and had their mannerisms about themselves. The heavens help everything (and everyone) else that didn't; it seemed like too many old traditions and mannerisms were fading by the years.

Announcing himself as Pendzez Zazkex, it was an interesting sounding name, as Pendzez's name repeated several times to herself. Phoenix Valley was his territory, and even while the Amara had heard of such a territory, she had not had the personal time to go and visit there. Stating that he arrived to cause no trouble, there was a soft chuckle that vibrated in her throat to this as she smiled down to him. "Ah, good to know then, Pendzez. Seems like there's a lot of us now getting into more trouble than we can handle." From her experiences on the outside when she left upon her journey, it seemed like the world was going mad with getting themselves into unnecessary conflicts. Speaking of which, the prospect of war danced upon her ears, in which it caused her ears to narrow a little bit forward, and twist her head to the side in speculation. There was a flicker of an amusing fire that lit up in her eyes, as she after all was the warrior in training of AniWaya, and to hear of a war taking place, well, that news would surely catch her interest. "War you say? Well, no. I really haven't. What's going on to cause such a war, and with whom?" Asha went right into the barrage of asking a million questions in one, clearly her interest now intensely focused upon this situation. The thought of it almost made her... giddy and excitable, but of course war was nothing to look forward to in general.

Examining the female upon the high horse, she looked kind of small for her age. Pendzez was tall, but normal sized for his age. As Pendzez heard the female's voice, it had a warm and welcoming tone, which Pendzez enjoyed when speaking to new wolves. Nearly all the wolves that the white male met has been nice and friendly, not mean and nasty. Jefferson, on the other hand, his not nasty, but grumpy, but still is nice and friendly, in his own way.

Returning the subject in hand, Pendzez felt it was his duty to inform this female about the war so the AniWayan pack will be cautious and prepared for when it happens. "Oh, well, since I am here and not really on duty, I thought to inform you that tensions between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni have risen and are now at war with each other. It's mainly been sparked due to the Dahlian leader having a quarrel with the Inferni sub-leader, which made the leader of Inferni angry and out for revenge. I'm afraid that's all I know so far."

Listening with a particularly keen ear, unfortunately the Phoenix Valley male didn’t have too much juicy detail to provide, but it was detail enough that would satisfy her curiosity for the time being. Dawali probably knew of such a thing going on anyway, since her father was very much like a hawk in a manner, keen and sharp on news and all of the happenings. Hearing that it was Dahlia de Mai and Inferni, they were two regions to which she wasn’t all that informative with, but certainly knew that Dawali had a special kinship with one of the leaders there as an ally to the AniWaya. Surprised to hear that one of the Dahlian leaders had attacked an Inferni sub-leader, well, that certainly wasn’t too good of news to hear. She wished that he would have been able to provide names, but there was only so much he had known, and she was still grateful for sharing the information with her. Asha would certainly have to pass this news along to Dawali, mainly about the sub-leader bit, even if he had already known. What if it was Dawali’s ally who was attacked?

Letting the information absorb into her mind momentarily, she then gave an acknowledging nod. “Ah, I see then. Well, that’s no good to hear in general. I believe Inferni is the territory that is composed of coyotes, huh?” She questioned, and shook her head lightly. Whenever there was the presence of coyotes, it always seemed like they were at odds with the wolves. A never ending battle, surely. Falling silent for a moment, her ears then pricked forward with a question that formulated in her mind. “Is your pack, Phoenix Valley, taking any sides, or are you guys remaining neutral?” Asha asked in curiosity, wondering if Phoenix Valley was involved in the war at any cost.

Pendzez did not have any allies in of the mentioned packs. He never really trusted, let alone met of the members of the packs, apart from Haku, a blue eyed demon, at least to the spirit's knowledge. A another servant for the Dark Spirit. However, who would know that he was already influenced and in service, preforming the evil that the Dark One rules over. However, to him, it matters not. Some can't be forgiven, even if they beg for it.

Returning the the subject in hand, Pendzez remained formal as the female acknowledged the white wolf's words regarding the war and the two sides. "Yes, they are also wolf haters. Becareful. During this period, they will probably show no mercy to anyone." Pendzez then continued to listen to the female as she asked about the Valley. "No. We're only neutral, providing shelter to those seeking refuge from the war. Only Dahlia, not Inferni."

Sorry for the delay! 236

Now, the bit about the coyotes being wolf haters, that was interesting to the warrior, and perhaps such news should be relayed to that of her father and the rest of the Tribe so that everyone was in the know just in case there was a run in with anyone from Inferni. This was important for the fact that even if anyone wanted to remain on neutral terms during war time, something so fragile as discrimination could start something else off. Heeding his words, Asha's muzzle nodded in understanding and in gratitude. "That's great advice to know, thank you for sharing that. A little scary to realize, at the same time, too. Guess anything at this point could be grounds for war." Asha noted.

Pendzez explained then that they were on neutral terms. They provided shelter for those of Dahlia, but strictly not of Inferni. Again she nodded and took note of this, for these points would be good to bring up at the next meeting to discuss about the war and such. "Ah, I see. Well, usually it is up to our Kalona, the Chief here, to make final decisions about standings, but coming from us we of course would aspire to remain as neutral as possible with everyone." Asha explained in reassurance to him, letting him know that they were just as neutral, and even wanted to keep things sensible with Inferni as well.
