Rain pattered against the window as Cassius rolled around sleeplessly in his cold bed. The lamplight had gone out hours ago and he had not a wink of sleep. His tired purple eyes drooped and closed, but opened again. Sleep was floating away from him by the minute and it frustrated him so. Rubbing his eyes and face, Cassius rose from his bed, careful not to hit his head on the ceiling, and grabbed his flannel from its place on his chair. Slipping through his hatch, he entered the second floor of the mansion. The kitchen, which was almost always empty, was a sort of safe haven for Cass, who frequently cooked his food there. Last time he was in the kitchen with someone else, was with another member of the pack, the Russian named Silas. They had rabbit sandwiches together, chatting casually. However, Cass had not seen him in a while, half enjoying his sandwiches by himself. After cooking a couple sandwiches, with rabbit of course, he set them in a makeshift messenger bag and set outside, where the rain had just cleared.

Cass had also begun to frequent the borders, where he looked out at the outside world, not daring cross the line out of Inferni. Something in him didn't let him cross the borders, even if he really wanted to. He wasn't afraid, but it was starting to become bothersome. He was sad he could cross the borders, but he frequently got as close as possible, sitting casually on the grass. Now, he had planned a picnic at the same area where had had met a previous outsider, a female from AniWaya named Asha Amara. She had found a bow, which he fixed for her. He felt a little jealous, since he wanted the bow for himself, but he figured that she found it first, and so she claimed it. She was quite nice though, but her horse freaked him out slightly, Cass not being very good with any equine species.

Sitting on a stray root of a tree, Cassius picked out a sandwich and chomped on it, the meat still warm from the stove. He wished he had some other things to put on it, like ketchup or mayonnaise, but he never found any. cotl had told him of a city called Halifax, where he invited to take the mechanic in search of parts, either for gadgets or for the broken down cars. He also wanted to search restaurants for the food items he craved. Just thinking about it made him hungrier, as he tore another bite from his rabbit sandwich.

OOC here!

The night was quiet and cold. Nothing else seemed to be awake; the only movement was the steady downpour as the rain made a speckled pattern in the snow. The white wolf shivered; glad he had thought to sling the warm flannel shirt over his back before heading out. He was missing the warmth of the barn now; but his busy mind was not allowing him anything but tossing and turning. He figured a walk would help clear his head.

He had ventured pretty far, well out of AniWaya territory. But some tantalizing scent drove him forward. It smelled hot and sweet, and the farther he went, the closer the scent became. Soon he was able to discern the smell as rabbit. His mouth watered at the thought of the warm meat.

Through the steady downpour, Levi was able to make out a shape in the distance. His nose told him that was the source of the rabbit scent, and that alo0ne drove him onward. He knew he was nearing one of the warring packs, though which one, he wasn’t sure. He had never smelled either pack’s scent.

He was not sure of this figure would be hostile or not, and for that he stayed well away from what he knew to be the border. His nostrils flared at the scent of the rabbit, and what he thought was bread. Rabbit sandwiches? Why hadn’t he thought of that…

“Hello?” He said softly, unsure if speaking at all was a good idea. Surely, this other being knew the white wolf had appeared, by his foreign scent alone.

The rain came back as Cassius continued eating at his lonely picnic. Taking a few bites from his sandwich every now and again, he looked up at the cloudy sky, hoping the clouds would clear to reveal the stars above. He looked in his bag at the other sandwiches, contemplating finishing them all up right then, but decided against it, wanting to spend a little more time outside. He licked his lips, the rabbit still warm and delicious.

However, as he continued to snack, a white figure appeared in the distance. The rain made it blurry to see who or what it was, but it looked like it had two legs. If he was lucky, maybe it was another nice outsider, maybe from AniWaya. He listened for a voice, and he got one, a soft one though. The hybrid figured the other white being thought it was dangerous, and at times it was. Right now, it was just them. He nodded, inhaling the rabbit scent combined with a foreign one that smelled like Asha's from before.

"Howdy," he replied merrily, his Southern accent strong and apparent, "I's guessin' you been smellin' m'Rabbit Sammiches? Smells good huh?" He smiled at the other, who's outline he recognized as wolf. He took another bite from the sandwich. "They's still warm. I fixed a few o'dem. Want one?" Cass reached into the bag and pulled out a full sandwich, holding it out to the foreigner.
