Roleplay Examples:

Calla had been lost for quite some time, after the brute had attacked her mother she hadn't trusted anyone. She had met a few wolves on her trek to the lake her mother took her family to every once in a while. The kind wolves had fed her, when they had the extra food but other than that it was barely enough to keep her from starving. She flicked her tail and picked up the pace moving to a slight trot to hopefully get to the lake faster. She could soon smell the cool water of the lake, She began to wag her tail happily as she sped up to a run. Leaves and twigs breaking under her paws she couldn't help but be happy she was free of her abusive siblings.

She stopped short of the lake looking around to be sure no one was around and bent over. She breathed in the freshness of the lake and began to lap at the water causing beautiful ripples along the lake side. Soon her thirst was quenched and she licked her lips happy to find the place that reminded her most of her deceased mother. She looked around to find a safe place to sleep but she wasn't sure where it was safe. She was getting exhausted from the long trek to the lake and her paws hurt, She decided that laying under a tree would be safe enough for now. She curled up her black fur hid her partially in the shade. She couldn't help but feel better knowing that some how her mother was watching over her. She closed her eyes taking in a deep breaths as if trying to stay awake. Her attempts to stay away were thwarted by the dark cloud that enveloped her making her fall asleep.

Example Two:

It had been a few months after her mother had been assaulted in their den. Calla had been traveling quite a bit from place to place never really fitting in where ever others asked her to stay. She had wandered all around Canada until she was too tired to move. She forced herself to keep going, her paws were sore from all the walking but she was well fed due to a kind wolf that had taught her how to take care of herself. Calla had stopped to catch her breath when a strange scent came to the air around her. She lifted her muzzle to check the scent again and again but she didn't recognize it at all. Calla brought her ears back realizing she had crossed a pack border. Unknowingly she had entered Nova Scotia. She had heard stories about the wolves of Nova Scotia but she had never traveled far enough to even see one of the strays from any of the packs. She felt as if she would be welcome here but she was still nervous to cross into a pack territory.

Calla took a deep breath in and wandered farther into the area of the Souls wolves. The different scents in the air came and went from different packs. None of the diffrent smells stopped her from her long trek. She wanted to join one of these packs, the stories her mother told her about these packs from Nova Scotia were all very welcoming. Calla wagged her tail hoping she could stumble among a wolf from a pack but she was still shy about actually knowing how to join one. She didn't know anything about pack life. She had been alone most of her life. Calla thought it would be nice to have another family in a pack where she could be protected. But getting a family and joining a pack were very different from how she pictured it. Calla had almost given up on finding a pack, but she was determined to keep going just to make her mother proud of her. She could smell the fresh water of a lake but she couldn't tell where it was coming from.

Calla picked up the pace searching for the scent she had grown used to spending most of her time near the water. She wagged her tail as she emerged from the brush seeing a beautiful lake much more different, than the one she grew up next to. She walked over to the waters' edge leaning down, when she let a soft breath out the water rippled underneath her muzzle. She was happy to be some place she felt at home in. The water made her feel calm and happy but she was so thirsty she didn't care how she felt at that moment in time. She lapped at the water causing larger ripples. The small waves bringing the water back and forth over her paws. The cool water felt good over her dirty fur and soothed her paws. "I hope someone likes me.." she commented to herself. She still wanted to join a pack but she didn't know where she was. After her thirst was quenched she laid down next to the shore far enough away to keep dry. Her stomach was empty but she was to exhausted to hunt for herself. The darkness came over her like a warm blanket with out her realizing it had. And soon a deep sleep followed in its tracks with the soft noise of the lake in the back of her mind soothing her.

Example 3

The wolf had been alone for most of her life, Her mother had died protecting her siblings and herself when she was born. She had wandered around her stomach empty and her strength fading, she searched and searched for a place to call home but no one would take her, soon she hoped someone would be kind enough to take her in, she soon found a small pond and bent down to lap up some water, she stared at her reflection for a moment staring at her odd bright blue eyes, she sighed and said "Why am i so different?" she asked her self. Why had the gods made her so, different looking. She thought to herself. She lapped up some water and licked her maw clean of the water droplets and found a small rock cave and laid down in it hoping for sleep.

Example 4

Calla had been walking for some time she had been alone since her mother had died protecting her and her siblings. Her hope of finding a new place to call home was fading quickly, she tripped and stumbled trying to catch herself so she didn't fall. She hoped to find some one that could help her regain her strength. She sighed softly and kept walking as much as she could. She was beautiful even for looking as sickly as she did, She was almost fur and bones. Her long black hair tied back into a braid, living on her own she had never worn clothes, she had always been comfortable with who she was nude and all. Calla flicked her tail stumbling again, to tired to walk anymore she finally submitted and collapsed under a tree. Calla lay there her foot paws bleeding, her beautiful fur matted and obviously not taken care of. It was clear to others that she was in need of a community. She needed to re-learn everything due to being on her own for so long. She never minded being dirty or naked. If anyone where to see her, they would surely try to get her into some clothes and make her take a bath. Taking a deep breath and laying on her side, She curled into a ball and closed her eyes hoping for the pain to slip away soon. It had been several hours before she fell asleep. She twitched slightly as she slept, dreaming of the family she hoped and prayed to find. Twitching more violently as if remembering something horrible in her past she woke up breathing heavily, her heart racing and her paws still bleeding from all the walking she had done. Calla noticed pieces of grass scattered across her pelt, sitting up with great care of her paws she tried to think of how they could have gotten there. She assumed she had been thrashing in her sleep again and that is how the grass got there. Flicking her tail back and forth in the moon light she leaned back against the tree she had been sleeping under, looking up to see some of the stars that the tree hadn't hidden between the leaves and branches. Tears filling her eyes her heart still praying and begging for somewhere she might be accepted. In a soft tone without even thinking she spoke in a soft and beautiful voice "I hope I find a family.." she said in an almost breathless voice.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
