It probably wouldn’t fit. No, not at all. The beautiful woman frowned as she watched the miniature skull she had carved out of a deer’s leg bone. She had of course taken notice of the Russian male’s style. It wasn’t hers, but she adored it nevertheless. The copper hued woman wished she could have made him something he could actually use, but she guessed she just couldn’t do it. She hadn’t worked much with bones and ornaments lately, and had therefore felt clumsy out of the ordinary. It was a peaceful hobby, so perhaps it could help her ease the pressure that always was building up. She did not even know why it had to be like that; everything was looking so well from every point of view.

The mansion was peaceful despite some of the disgraceful members living there. It was a common area where every member had the right to reside if they so wished, but she couldn’t help but continuing to see it as hers. She was no longer furious at the thought of others living here though, but that moron that had released her rats had made her fury about their company flame up again. She had a bad habit of focusing on the negative things though. She had been cruel to the boy. She believed what he had said; that he had only wanted to help her, but.. she couldn’t control herself. The ugly words and the distasteful frown always managed to slip out. It was a shame, but that was who she was.

Sitting in the living room, she continued to play with the little pale piece of bone, wondering whether or not she could use it for anything at all.

Alyssum de Fonte

Alyssum started up at the building which she known as the D'Neville Mansion. She never did went inside before, since she didn't find the time to, exploring Halifax and other territories. But, now she wanted to check out the building. She hadn't been inside many buildings made by the humans before, since she was raised in a traditional pack that shunned humanized ways. Even in her travelings, she never did enter abandoned houses or shops, except for that one school, where she got her book; they were either too dangerous to walk into, with their ceiling caving in and walls split in half, or they just looked downright spooky and forbidding.

But, the mansion looked like it was in great shape for a building its age and hardships. Inferni must be taking great care of this place, Alyssum pondered, and walked towards the door. For a moment, she was a tad bit nervous, her hands hesitant to open the door. She had heard that not all of her new pack members were as friendly as Clover Love, and some of them had gruesome pasts or a sour attitude. But, she swallowed down her fear and stepped into the building, trying to be as quiet as she could. She knew, of course, she could have been probably be heard from a mile away because she knew that everyone here had coyote blood in them; coyotes had large ears, which meant they could hear the smallest of things, like her footsteps as she walked through the mansion.

She glanced around the walls, and the things that decorated them. It seemed gloomy to her, and the house had the aura of being old, even if the state of the building told different. As far as she could tell, not many people were out and about. Alyssum assumed that they were either in their rooms or out of the building altogether. She let out a tiny sigh of relief at that thought, since she didn't want to seem like a snooping kind of person as a first impression. First impressions, the young girl was all about making them as good as possible, since she already basically embarrassed herself in front of the Aquila when she was accepted into Inferni. She wandered through D'Neville some more, until she caught sight of the living room.

She saw another woman in there, one she had yet to meet. Alyssum didn't know if she should introduce herself or just keep going, since she was busy toying with something in her hands. Or, at least she hoped she wasn't paying attention. She couldn't tell if Halo was hostile or not; her face was half-hidden to her, so she couldn't read her current expression. She decided she didn't want to bother her, and tried to tip-toe across the doorway and continue down the hall. But, she stepped on a floorboard, and it sent out a low creak through the room, Alyssum's heart dropping down to her feet, and froze on the spot, praying that she didn't hear her.

Yay! <3 I don't mind at all!

The presence of another was quickly noted; if only through the slightest change in the air as a door was opened then shut. Cherry orbs remained on the pale skull, but hackles seemed to be slowly rising, for no residents here would show such humility within these walls. Ears shifted and leaned towards her dark copper locks, but this was her home and she refused to allow her body to be alarmed. Whenever there was a creature near, her thought always sought her twin sword, though it was resting against the wall on the second floor in her room. No enemy had ever intruded this deep and she doubted she would ever see it. It would be a certain death sentence, then.

Movement was caught in the corner of her eyes, which were still focused on the dangling bone skull. The following creak from the exhausted floor made the presence definitely undeniable. ”You walk into my house without even dignifying me with a hello?” her voice questioned, ruby eyes moving pursuit the form. A stranger in her house. Yet, the Lykoi’s facial expression remained serene. This member had at least the brains to open a door on their own. The Hydra turned slightly, letting fingers curl against the chair’s fat neck as she sought for eye contact with the stranger.

Alyssum de Fonte

Alyssum resisted the urge to respond with an unsure 'uhh'. She felt if she said the wrong thing, the female wouldn't wait a single moment to kick the young coyote out the house. This thought made her feel upset, since she still wanted to go upstairs and maybe look into the rooms that showed no inhabitance, since she was curious about how the humans lived in them and not in caves or burrows. But, aside that thought, her main focus was on Halo. She hoped that if the other woman did notice her creeping in the hallways, she should be as friendly as Clover, but she now doubted that; even Clover Love warned Alyssum that most of the pack members weren't as kind as herself. But, Alyssum wasn't going to judge Halo because of what she said to her, this was her first time meeting the female; she was probably angry that she was obviously snooping around, but yet doesn't know that she wasn't doing any harm in it. Better be late with a hello than no greeting at all, Alyssum decided.

"Hello,"she finally said after a moment of thinking. She tried to convey equal levels of friendliness and submission in her voice, showing that she wasn't here to pick a fight, rather to be on a less hostile grounds. "I didn't mean to bother you, I'm sorry,"Alyssum added, the apology sincere,"I thought you were busy with something, and I didn't want to disturb you." She wondered if she should introduced herself, but she then thought that maybe Halo didn't have the patience for that; the coyote would wait and see if the other female would state her name first, since this was her house and that it would probably be too bold to do such a thing. That was only considering if the copper-colored Luperci would chase her out, or let Alyssum stay and explain. The young girl dearly hoped that the second option would work out.

Uhm, whenever you want Smile I didn't really add a time of day, so that's up to you if you have any preferences!

A moment more had to pass without a word, but when it came it led the copper hued woman to tilt her head. Her mind instantly started to pin the female to the mental map of the members of Inferni. The placement of this one seemed best close to a certain Sepirah, but the words following up the words made her hesitate first, then change her mind about this one. The woman elegantly rose, though she did not abandon the chair. She quite enjoyed the extra height this gave her.

She was pleased with the reply she had received from the other. Halo knew very well that she was an unpleasant individual to interact with, but the responses returned established the first impressions she settled on. A smile settled on her exotic features then. ”I see.” The sharpness in her voice had vanquished by now. If the woman had tried to sneak past her because she feared she would disturb the other, which was an excuse more than valid enough for the Hydra.

”Actually, I was.” Busy, that was. Jumping down from soft cushions to hard, wooden floor, the woman strode over to the lighter hued form. ”What do you think of this?” The woman held up the small, carved out skull. Nothing was better than to get a second opinion on her work.

Alyssum de Fonte

Alyssum let out a mental sigh of relief as Halo accepted her explanation, and seemed less terrifying to the sandy-brown coyote. Hopefully, she thought once more, the rest of the members are like this. She even assumed, when the old wolf she spent the night with so long ago told her about 'Souls and Inferni, that the coyote clan would be better for her than any other of the packs, even if they sounded more appealing. She didn't judge what the clan was saw as, but whom was in it: coyotes. Although she wasn't as prejudice as they were against wolves, she didn't want to live with packs full of wolves because of their unfamiliarity. Though she heard all the stories of Inferni, she ignored their bad parts and concentrated on their better ones. That was one of her few motivations to get from southern United States to all the way to Nova Scotia.

It seemed that Alyssum was correct that she was busy with something. She watched her walk off the chair, which made her nearly equal height with her, but the other female was taller than her even if she stood straight as usual, since she was younger than Halo. Before the copper-hued canine asked her opinion, she was already looking down at the skull she was holding. Alyssum wondered how she could be working on a skull, but little did the younger coyote know that it was actually carved, it was so fine looking; almost as if Halo hunted a small creature and reaped it of its skull. She decided that maybe she was sharping the thought-so animal skull into a weapon of some sort. "What type of animal is it?"she asked, since it seemed unfamiliar to her. Maybe a type of native hare, she guessed. "Are you going to put on the border?"she added.

Fine lines appeared on the Hydra’s forehead as the other woman decided to ask what type of animal it was. Did she mean what kind of bone it had been carved from or what kind of skull she had attempted to recreate. Scarlet gaze shifted to observe the pale thing she was holding. Silas’ tattoos seemed to indicate that he preferred the old, human style skull, and therefore she had done her best to make it look human. The skull was rather round compared to the oval of most creatures that walked earth today. It made sense for the other clan member to ask.

”It’s supposed to be a human skull, I made it from a deer’s leg.” And the other question brought a light chuckle to the warrior’s lips. ”Too small, I’m afraid,” laughter remained in her voice, but it was not of the mocking kind. ”I’m thinking of giving it to someone, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough..” There was uncertainty there. Silas was wonderful and she absolutely adored the dragon bracelet he had given to her. The Lykoi woman wanted to be able to give him a token of her gratitude, but it was hard to match his kindness and consideration with some of her own.

Focus turned to the other woman again. ”I’m Halo Lykoi, Hydra of the clan.” And the warrior took great pride in her title.

"A human skull?"she repeated in a questioning tone, now looking at the carved bone with new eyes. Alyssum had only once saw a human before, a picture in a book, but she had never given thought of their bone structure. In her mind, she compared the picture of the human and the skull before here, and they resembled closely. "I think it looks great, coming from a bone of a different creature,"she encouraged Halo, a smile tugging at her lips to show that she was sincere. "Its great enough for a gift, in fact. This artwork is too good to be put with the ones at the borders."

When the woman introduced herself, the coyote-hybrid smiled even more. "My name is Alyssum de Fonte, Tirones,"she informed the Lykoi, announcing her name and rank. She was unsure where the Hydra ranked in the pack―she was still learning the different ranks and tiers―but she automatically assumed that she must be towards the higher branch of the clan. Alyssum took a glance around the room, the afternoon sun lighting the area. Curiosity prickled inside of her, glancing at the furniture that she had no name for. But, the coyote didn't want to be rude and barge around the house like a moment ago.

"This place is very nice,"she commented, speaking about the whole mansion. "You kept it in very nice shape; every human building I saw were in ruins." It indeed was in a wondrous state. As far as she saw, it seemed to be in the same shape the humans left it, if not only a little dustier. Alyssum again wondered what human items still lingered inside of the home. It would depend what kind of people lived here before, she thought, and tried to keep the human thoughts at rest after pondering that.

The Hydra only knew the basic appearance because she had idly studied the Russian clan member’s tattoo. While she sincerely thought it was quite similar, the shape probably wasn’t exactly right, which was why she was reluctant to use it as a gift at all, now. ”At least that’s what it is supposed to be,” she muttered, turning the thing over in her palm as she studied it, frowning lightly. The compliment from the woman soothed her doubts however, and she decided that she easily could like this person. Ruby returned to the other clam member’s face; now lacking the hard glaze of chill used to observe the majority of the clan’s population. Her work with bones was something she took great pride in, and it was delicious for her ego to receive positive feedback.

”Maybe,” she breathed lightly as she attempted to imagine Silas’ face in her mind. The other introduced herself as Alyssum de Fonte. Tirones meant that she was low in the hierarchy, but then again she had to be fresh to the clan. Halo too had been there and it took time, work and devotion to rise in the strict ranks of the clan. Scarlet followed the woman’s gaze around in the room and she could tell that Alyssum was intrigued. A nod was given at the words spoken. ”We all do our part to ensure that the mansion stays in good shape.” It was a large building free for the clan to use as it pleased. Halo was not the only one that lived here. In the beginning she had been alone, and so it had been hard to get accustomed to the ones that moved in later, but overall they all got along well.

”It’s a public area, so you’re free to take a look around if you want,” the warrior said, ignoring the fact that her initial response to seeing the woman at first had not suggested this to be an approachable area at all. Well, that was Halo for you. ”Most of the clan’s members live either here or in the caves.” While some sought complete solitude somewhere else, for the clan’s lands were vast and there was more than enough space for everyone to settle wherever they desired.

"I used to live in burrows, back when I was young,"she told Halo, though she didn't explain much about when she littler, since talking about her past would probably past her on as a canine who barks too much about herself. Alyssum decided to take on a more interesting subject, instead of chatting about the housing. "The Hydra is the one of the warriors of Inferni, right?"she asked,"How's it like, being that rank?" It must've been interesting, with one probably seeing much action. But, it seemed to be hard work to earn such a title, since Halo seemed pretty hostile and befitting for it.

As for Alyssum, it seemed at least exciting, if not amazing, to know how to properly fight and defend the clan. Though the female wasn't much for picking fights, she did enjoy a good argument, especially if she won. And, seeing the copper-colored coyote before her, she had slim to no doubts that she lost many battles.

Apologies for length. You do not have to match it. sswm 834

The lovely Lykoi princess was always surprised to discover that it could be pleasant to exchange a few words with a fellow canine. She hand picked those she felt could be honoured with her presence, and those who were not on that very important person list was instead scribbled down on pages clutched by layers of black. One should not wish to get on the arrogant bitch’s bad side, but not all were clever enough to realize that, or perhaps just too stupid to know how to avoid it. Thick lashes fluttered slightly as stray hair slowly fell into her face, and she made a note that she really had to trim her rich fringe soon. She was a creature holding various sins, and vanity was one of them, though she had improved greatly as she had matured in the clan. When she had arrived here she had been a blind brat with a tongue as foolish as it was poisonous. She was better now, and a certain male’s presence was slowly healing invisible wounds, and she was not aware of all the ripples and tears in her young soul.

Silas made her wish to be something better, and she believed she was when he was around. He was absent from the scene, but it did not make it a requirement to be nasty to her fellow clan members. Her mood was not sour, and would not turn so unless the woman here gave it a reason to.

To live in burrows sounded inane in the warrior’s ears, but lips did not form words of disapproval. This was a detail both females shared. Halo and her two male siblings had been born in a den dug by their own wolfen mother. It was not a style of life that she would find soothing any longer, as her optime was definitely the form she was most comfortable with. It was a flaw of hers though, to favour her bipedal form so much that she did not properly grant her two quadruped forms enough priority. She was supposed to be a dangerous creature to meet on the field of battle, and her strength was naturally in the form that was preferred. The woman did her best to amend the errors of her ways though, though it was especially after she had met Kesho, an Inferni veteran that she had really started to focus on her warrior skills in the forms that so easily could be insulted as “lesser”.

She was pleased as Alyssum picked up a far more interesting topic, and this was reflected in brilliant ruby hued orbs. The Lykoi woman was immensely proud of the rank she held, and she knew that it made her a very important piece in a game of thrones. She had already defended and saved several lives of those who belonged to the clan. When it came to urgent scenes, her arrogant thoughts and dislike would always temporarily evaporate. The coppery warrior served the clan as a whole, despite the way she treated her fellow coyotes. Rikka de le Poer had proved to be a hideous traitor; had even had the wits and nerve to transfer to one of the local wolf packs. Halo’s face wanted to distort with disgust at the thought alone, but she pushed it away swiftly, focusing on providing the woman with an answer instead.

”This is correct,” she assured the paler woman; voice rich with honey as she spoke words of something she loved. When she first had become a warrior in training, there had been trace amounts of doubt in her, but such things existed any longer. It was one of her few devoted goals in life to become the perfect being of war, and while she knew that she would never grind her skills into perfection, she knew that she was well on her way on this current path of hers. ”It has formed me into who I am today,” she replied, uncertain if she could formulate her words better. The Lykoi found it hard to describe. ”I wouldn’t want it any different,” she added after a moment of thought, wondering if it could make it somewhat clear without outright saying that she felt glorious holding the Hydra rank.

Deep scarlet eyed the other woman differently now, wondering if this was a possible recruit standing before her. ”Do you know which field you’d like to specialize in?” the young warrior asked, tilting her head slightly as she offered another dazzling smile, one of quiet expectation now. There were probably a few interested applicants in pursuit of honour and glory, but Halo refused to interact and assist those she could not bear the sight of. It would be well to have obedient and proper individuals to take up the hastati ranks. She knew not whether or not Hybrid helped any young fighters with their skills, but she knew where she stood and she picked her recruits carefully.

Table by Nuki!/// I'm trying out for SSWM as well. ;D First year in participating, too, but I hope to do well. I hope you don't mind that a rambled about a few things. SSWM: 840

When Alyssum spoke of her younger years, her mind went down the long and muddled lanes of her memory. She remembered the comfortable and warming scent of her mother, her gentle cooing voice in her large ears. When she was born, though she couldn't have known at that small age yet grew to know, it seemed that only her mother was caring for her, when the other pack members treated her like the start of a pandemic, as if her name was a plague itself. Even the pups were taught by their spiteful mothers not to play with her, as if her innocence was only a facade for what truly laid under her skin. Of course, Alyssum was confused why the other children always gave her baneful glares, for their parents taught them no better, even if they were not given a just reason. It was soon, though, that young the young de Fonte asked her single guardian what was exactly wrong with her.

The female was quite infuriated and protective with her response, saying that nothing was wrong with her pup and the rest of the pack had their narrow muzzles to high in the air to realize that she wasn't. Alyssum didn't feel like this was a befitting answer, since she was always supported by her mother, and pressured her once more, hoping to get a better reaction to her questions. Her mother was hesitant at first with the downpour of specific inquiries that demanded specific results, so she admitted that it was because of her fath er. Alyssum didn't grow up the term father in the den, so she was slightly confused. The mother explained further, saying it was against pack law to have children with what her father was: a 'half-blood', a hybrid between wolf and coyote, which was considered a hurtful insult within their community.

Alyssum's mind reeled back into the real world, tearing her away from the backdrop of the warm underground home, to the aged mansion, the figures of her childhood being replaced with Halo. She answered that her title of Hydra was, indeed, a warrior of Inferni. By the way the woman held back her jubilant answers with more refined responses, it felt as if the path of the warrior was more interesting than the others, though not saying they weren't useful. Every rank and tier was equally needed for the clan in order to have control and have an organized establishment. Her old pack wasn't formed like this, more feral and less dignified, which made Alyssum fall further for the land of 'Souls. To her, having the gift of shifting into bipedal form yet rejecting its unfamiliarity, like her old home did, was a dreadful act itself, and making others follow its lead was blasphemy.

It was unexpected that Halo asked for her opinion on which path she would choose to follow in. It was quiet sudden as well, but Alyssum had been thinking about it lately. When she first met Gabriel, he told her she was going to be a Tirones, until she was selected for a certain rank. The Bellum section was attracting to the young woman, for it was the one in which her friend Sepirah was in, as well as Halo. Though she wanted to tell the cocoa-shaded female straight out that she wanted to test her skills in the path of fighting, she decided that a smart response with valid explanations was the best way to go. "I would liked to follow something along the lines of specialized fighting. Maybe then, I could be of more use of the clan than just knowing how to read and write." She had recalled telling her abilities to the Aquila at the borders, and how pitiful they were. Now she had a chance to protect her newfound home. "Though it seems like daunting tasks, I would gain much knowledge along the way."

For a moment, the coyote girl imagined herself in the heat of battle, a weapon gripped in her sure hands as they swung with confident strikes. They landed square blows on her opponents, making them yelp in pain and scurry away back into their holes like frighten mice. Indeed, it would be a dream for Alyssum to secure that kind of power to protect Inferni and make the other packs give more respect for the coyotes. While her mind played scenes of epic battles, she continued to speak,"Of course, I don't have much techniques on hand. I'm willing to learn, if they choose me to follow that path." For a sliver of a moment, she bore in mind the image of her becoming maybe a scout, but that seemed distasteful for Alyssum, and her brain again showed her what she wanted. This time she was at Hades Beach, fighting off a grizzly wolf. Of course, she was winning, since this was her imagination. With a good thump of her hilt against his head, the man let out a hurt-filled howl, a whimper, and retreated, dropping his weapon in submission...

She liked that the female actually seemed to pay attention to her words. It was becoming more certain now that this woman could remain a creature that the Lykoi princess could be bothered with in the future, and if her interests were right, the two of them would definitely have more to do with each other in the future. The woman was proud of what she had managed to accomplish over the short years she had lived with the clan. When she first had arrived, Gabriel had probably frowned at the arrogant child with her chin held high. He had been quick to put her in place and reveal to her that her father was a blood traitor and had betrayed the clan in the past. Halo had been brought up on water and lies; had been brainwashed into believing the world to be a place where the three siblings of Soul, de le Poer and Lykoi blood to find glory and immortality. Inferni had not been the place she had expected it to be, and when she had been a fresh member there, she had possessed a depressing amount of disappointment.

Halo’s siblings had fallen off quickly, but she had remained, intrigued by the return of the mother of all Lykoi and the legend of her father’s stories. There were other elements too that had made her stay, along with her own stiff stubbornness. The copper hued female was extremely loyal to the clan and the leaders that kept it going. She did not believe she would ever leave this place, so it would probably be death that was to take her away on jet black wings. That was how her life was supposed to end, for Gabriel had made her a warrior and that was what she had become. It was a glorious path that she adored, and she thought that too few of the clan’s remaining members knew what it was like to dance down along this narrow road where life and death were on each their side on a silver, sharp edged blade. If she excluded the horrible things that had been done to her by family and unknown creatures, her past was relatively pleasant to gaze back at. Hard work and no play had not made Halo a dull girl, for instead she had managed to carve out a beautiful future for herself. She remained young and beautiful, not yet marred by lines in the flesh from the fights she had been through. Sure, there were cuts and lines hidden safely beneath thick coppery fur.

Overall, she knew contentment. Itachi remained an unwanted element in her life, but instinct required that she loved him, and so she did, though as a flawed mother. The little pale skull was turned in her soft palm as she thought of him. Silas had not turned away after he had learned of her misfortune. Instead, he had pledged to defend her and her child. Pulse paced heavily in her ears, as her chest was flooded with the warm caress of what could only be love. How wonderful it was to possess such emotion, for it had been returned. There was so much fuel for that fire, and whenever thoughts of Silas were near, Halo knew that she was immensely happy with this life. She did not ponder how things would have been without his presence, for she did not wish to give nurture to seeds of doubts. His family had left these shores, and there was always the slight possibility that he would wish to follow them, one day. If that day was ever to come, Halo would stand before a mountain of difficulty. No, it was better not to linger with such thoughts, for today she was ridiculously happy; having laid claim on the most handsome male she had ever had the pleasure of laying her eyes on.

Soft copper ears prickled as the woman’s voice rowed into her conscience on a sea of calm within her mind. Her lovely curved lips remained positive and sweet as she heard this. Specialized fighting, she said? Well, then Alyssum was definitely getting on the right side with one of the people that held authority in this field. Halo and Hybrid was a lovely duo, though different as night and day in all aspects for the most part. He specialized in the secui form, and was a magnificent creature when it came to everything that had to do with a coyote’s quadruped form. Halo had gone in another direction, and had specialized in the art of optime fighting and the variations of weapons available there. She was beautifully deadly once she possessed one of her twin swords, and she was equally skilled in hand to hand combat. Hours and days had been spent with the Aquila with pole arms and overall she was insanely skilled for her young age. She would be able to take on older and more experienced fighters, simply because she had put down such a grand amount of devotion in her rank. She had already experienced war and been out on the field. She had seen the face of death and wolves with intention to kill. She had killed and she had survived.

No less than four hours were dedicated to physical training every day, and she always started at the brick of dawn. It was not unusual for the woman to extend these sessions, and the regular meetings with others where skills were improved were not included in that daily amount of mandatory labour. She was lean and flexible, and could probably not be in a better shape than this. She knew this, and it was with adoration she watched her lovely form in the mirror every morning before she exited out into the back yard to start the day’s training session. ”What would you be interested in specializing in?” the warrior’s voice rose to ask with genuine curiosity seated behind it. One of her duties was to aid those in training, and if she owned the right skills, this would happen. Halo would appreciate some variation, for there was only so much she could do on her own. A variety of sparring partners would be wonderful. The copper and cream woman was not without a plan for the future though. She always sought to improve her skills, and there were many things she could take up and learn. Tossing knives and handling a crossbow was something the desired to learn. Her ability to aim and pull a trigger was already quite good, as she had found a pair of guns as a youth and slowly nursed them back to health through books of guidance and lucky raids in an old, crumbling gun store. One of the fire weapons had become defect shortly after she had arrived, and though she continued to clean the gun and keep it in perfect shape, she had failed at finding new supply of bullets. She did have a small supply of undamaged bullets, but had overall been reluctant to use them.

A nod was given as the female’s words continued, and her words were wisely chosen, it seemed. The other woman seemed to assume that her leaders would choose the right path for her, and this was good. Halo fully trusted her superiors and knew that they would make a just choice for Alyssum. For the woman’s sake, the Lykoi hybrid knew that she hoped that she would be chosen to wear the Hastati title. However, the other should be weary of letting dreams portray how it would be like to be a warrior in a battle. Halo had walked around with silly, glorious dreams, but reality had not held the sweet taste she had expected it to. Perhaps it was simply something one had to get accustomed to, but Halo had been disappointed in the lack of rush when she entered her first battle. It did not mean that she was without emotion, though during the fights, she was empty of everything except memory and knowledge worked into her very flesh. The victory rush was glorious though, even if it had hardly been enough to make a smile bloom on her face.

”We will see,” the woman agreed, addressing the last words spoken by the other. ”But it is the hardest path to choose, and if I am to become your supervisor, I will not go easy on you.” The warning was clear, and the smile and gentle gaze had turned stern and serious. War was no place for foolish dreamers. She had been one once, and it had led her nowhere. She had received the taste of reality, though discovered that this remained her call regardless. Ruby eyes had witnessed the nasty scenes where had yet to depart even as their bodies were literally ripped apart. One had to have a hard and stable stomach and cold conscience to get through this. She possessed all of this, and her way was that of the warrior. Would Alyssum go through the similar errors?

Table by Nuki! /// If the end is a bit confusing, she's just thinking, "omg, what if I'm wrong? D:" sswm: 805

"I would be very pleased if I am able to further my knowledge of my dagger, though I would prefer something much longer than a short blade. It does have it advantages, though, but I don't feel that its the best weapon for me. It was the only thing I could find to defend myself and to hunt with." Alyssum used her dagger for hunting more than anything, though she did come across some predators. Most were scared away with bared teeth and sour, bitter snarls, and if not, she would just give them a minor injury and run for it. It wasn't the most bravest of ways to deal with an opposed force, but at that time the young woman was littler and had an emptier stomach then, and had no choice unless she wanted to be reckless and possibly killed trying to test her untrained skills.

The sunlight outside was bright as ever, some spectrum of dust and other particles easily seen in the heavy rays that shone from the windows. Alyssum only slightly noticed that the sun has reached its full peak, meaning that she had be here for quite awhile. But, she didn't want to stop chatting with the interesting woman in front of her. If she could, the coyote would go on into the dark, cold night and will still never miss a beat of the conversation, as long as it was directed to what both of them understood and have grown an interest for: battle. Alyssum had felt a passion for hunting before, but as she grew older, fighting became a more exciting subject than gloating about how big your catch was. It was maybe the rush of succeeding at something that brought the harrowing path to mind, for she had read about it many times whenever she read stories by the humans. They had always been set up to be a happily ever after, but the coyote was smart enough that tragic goes hand in hand with comedy.

As Halo's approving expression dissipated into a more serious and attention-grabbing one, whatever thoughts were going through Alyssum's massive imagination snapped in half by the woman's stern words. She paid close observation to the copper woman's warning, taking it in a now empty bowl, waiting for it to be filled with Halo's given intelligence and not the young female's assumptions. A cold chill ran down her neck her neck, making the fur were it crossed raise up nervously at the firm hybrid's words. She thought about being trained by the warrior princess, and even standing still, Alyssum could tell that she could not be an easy teacher, for it looked like she had not had laid-back teachings, either. Now with the battle scenes completely cleared from her mind, she started to think of the cold facts.

Though honor and respect followed one down the path of what seemed victory and redemption, what ladens before the one down the path in darkness was daunting indeed, where no sunlight that now flowed endlessly from the windows would not be found there. Training was the first step of the journey, and judging by Halo's heavy warning it certainly did not seem to be an easy stroll like in the Forest of Nod. It could be ranged from short to harrowing sessions of repeated movements, with muscles studying from the actions to be called on to react instantly. She'd imagine the fierce Lykoi to demand all Alyssum had to be poured into vigorous training, and then some. Though it was quite hard for the woman to face the fact, she was stubborn for what she wanted, and she knew that she wanted that path and whatever was in her way would bow down or be thrown aside. "I can handle it,"she replied evenly and surely to Halo, never more certain with her words without using "I guess" or "I think".

But she hoped in the back of her mind, where only the tiniest, driest seeds of doubt would grow, that she wasn't wrong in her certainty. But as she thought more of her sure answer, sunlight bloomed on the seed, making it blossomed into a thought. What is she was incorrect, and this was no matter to be taken upon by her? What if the Lykoi's training proven too difficult for the coyote, even with her fiery denomination?

Deadly flowers of sudden questioning flourished in her garden of her mind, and weeds of regret sprouted as well for answering so boldly. But, she hid the greenhouse of doubt from Halo, and to contain her feelings and not to voice them or show them with her actions. Alyssum remained seemingly certain with her reply to the hybrid, as she tried to take her worry and yank it by the roots.
