Alyssum let out a sign of content as she strolled down the southern borders. She took it upon herself to take a little walk up and down the southern part of Inferni, to test out her knowledge of what she knew about the area. So far, she knew most of the sub-territories, because of their key points, but some she was still trying to rack her brain for. She had her side bag over her shoulder, along with her trusty silver dagger laced into the belt loop of the jeans she wore. Inside of the bag wasn't much; just her literature book and a few pieces of cloth with some stitches in them, along with other assorted items she came across. Her hands rested on top of her head as she walked, heading from the forest of Nod, and was walking up the border than lined the free territory called Arachnea's Revenge. She had been around these borders before; if she was correct, this was the area where she met her first Inferni members, Gabriel and Sepirah.

The sun was still pretty high in the sky, so it warmed the female's fur. The warm fall weather was fading, leaving behind the coldness of winter. This chilly air was different than that of southern United States, it was much bone-chilling. But, Alyssum knew it would soon pass, and summer would be here before she knew it. At least, she hoped it would. For now, she would have to settle with wearing heavier clothing over her winter coat that wouldn't suffice enough. Alyssum continued walking the borders, wondering what she was going to do today. Walk the entire territory's borders, maybe try to go to Halifax? Maybe on the way she would spot Niro and tell him how Darius was doing. But, the coyote didn't feel like doing anything like that today, since that's all she had been doing; wondering the lands of Nova Scotia.

Layla had already ventured to the land of Inferni once now and it felt like something was pulling her back again, although this wasn’t the first time she met an Inferni member. She still remembered the day Lucia saved her life and the male she had met on the beach. This was proving to her that not all of the Inferni members were as bad as they were made out to be. The mistress was beginning to feel a bit more confident about going back over there and wanted to return soon. The only thing that bothered her about Inferni was the line of skulls along the borders. It always made her sick to her stomach and made her back away. The black and white she wolf knew that Inferni would never remove it, but she wished they would.

Layla slipped out of bed and looked around. She was enjoying the company of her mate and wished she could stay with him all the time, but she knew he would need his space and she didn’t want to invade. The other problem was that there was still a hint of depression in her and she didn’t want to bring the behemoth’s mood down. The mistress moved upstairs to get dressed and then hurried back down stairs. She was feeling better by the day and didn’t want today to go to waste. She was glad to take Saluce’s advice by doing little things each day. The black and white she wolf tried to form a smile on her face as she headed for the borders and away from Dahlia de Mai.

Layla wandered around the Inferni borders, looking for a quick meal, something she would be able to grab while she was still in her optime form. Her eyes scanned around the area, but she saw nothing. The mistress continued to search but nothing came out. She sat down at the borders and sighed. She was sure there was water in there and water meant fish. The black and white she wolf was doomed to go without food until she decided to go back home.

Sorry for the wait, I was busy for the past week. D: +3

Alyssum slowed down slightly, her large ears catching tiny, snuffling sound. One of her hands slid down to her belt loops, hovering over the dagger. She came to a pause in her steps and tried to catch the sound, tilting her ears and head in a few angles. The source of the noise seemed to be from a small creature, and when that thought occurred, she instinctively raised her nose to the wind; though not so good in Optime form than Lupus, she still could scent smells with them. After a moment of sniffing, she caught the smell of something familiar: a hare.

Alyssum's stomach growled quietly at the smell, since she haven't ate since last night. She slipped out the dagger, and carefully went over to the direction the hare was located at.

Not even in a minute, she spotted the creature. It seemed to be searching for food; it nose was to the ground, sniffing out for any vegetation that survived the frosts. Alyssum wasted no time, approaching the prey silently, careful not to crunch any snow under her paws. When she was about a foot away from the hare, downwind and behind its back, the coyote girl lunged. The beast heard her leap, and tried to give one, big jump to escape from Alyssum's reach, but she was luckily faster. With a practiced sweep of her dagger, she made a clean kill of the hare, ending its life as quick as a blink. After cleaning off her weapon, she inspected her catch. It was good length, but it was thin, even if it was winter.

Alyssum then caught another noise, but this time it was much larger than a mere rabbit. Holding the prey by its ears in one hand and dagger in the other, the coyote again headed towards the unknown noise. After about two minutes of searching for the source, she caught sight of a figure looming at the borders. I wonder who that could be, Alyssum thought, trying to see if the silhouette was a male or female; maybe it could have been Niro. But, the shape seemed more feminine, which ruled out the Niro-theory. Alyssum lowered her dagger as she approached Layla from afar, so not to seem any more creepier, holding a limp hare and a weapon. "Greetings,"she called to the wolf, trying to be friendly yet a little reserved; she was right by Inferni borders, after all, and Alyssum already knew that some of her clanmates probably wouldn't like it if she treated the woman as if she was a welcomed canine when she wouldn't be. But, she doubted it would be like that.

Layla had no idea why she was really back here. She didn’t want to get in trouble with more Inferni members and just wanted to find a way to get rid of the depression lingering over her head. She gave a soft sigh before she wandered along the line of skulls that decorated the borders. She still hated the sight and tried to ignore it, but there was no way for her to. If she was going to continue to hang out around the Inferni borders, then she would have to get used to the sight. The mistress wandered away from the borders to a short distance away. She was getting a bit hungry herself and she didn’t want it to look like she was stealing food from another pack. She sniffed around for some food but so far was having no luck. The black and white she wolf lowered her ears as she continued to search.

Layla paused when she heard some movement. She moved her ears up and listened for the sound but didn’t hear anything, but then there was a noise again. She scanned her eyes around but didn’t see anything until she turned her gaze back towards the Inferni borders. She noticed a female coming towards her. The mistress paniced and lowered her tail, but not fully between her legs. She as afraid that this female would be just like most of the other Inferni members were. The black and white she wolf knew about the conflicts between the two packs and she didn’t want to spark up any other fights. She lowered her posture as she heard the female greet her. The she wolf was a little surprised to see an Inferni member treating her so friendly. She raised her head and her figure back up. She gave a small nod, still unsure about her.

Alyssum watched the woman return the greeting with a sheepish nod, and she could understand why she was being a little nervous. Inferni was somewhat known for their sour attitudes and smart tongues, but the coyote was far from that, even if she could get a bit of a temper sometimes. She was more of the peaceful type, since she never really gotten into serious battles that used tooth and claw. She wanted to wolf to know she was like this, and not going to bite her head off without a word. Or at least not to scare her anymore with her sudden appearance.

"My name's Alyssum de Fonte,"she called to Layla, slowly approaching the she-wolf. She tried to make her voice sound welcoming and non-hostile, but it came off as a little creepy. The young woman cleared her throat, and spoke once more, in a more normal, and less eerie,"I was strolling the borders and came across this hare." Again, she hoped her appearance didn't look as dreadful as she thought. She felt a little dumb at her small talk, since it was awkward moment for Alyssum, as if she was put on the spot again.

She glanced down as her bare feet, then looked back up at Layla. "Fine day, eh?"she commented, waving a hand towards the sky. Smooth, she thought, and started to fidget a little more. It was as if she was caught so near to someone's territory, than the she-wolf.

Layla was still a bit unsure on what to do about the Inferni female. She knew that there were kind members of Inferni, but she didn’t know if she would be acting like this so close to home, especially to a wolf from Dahlia de Mai. It was quite obvious that she didn’t know about the conflict between their two packs. The mistress wouldn’t mind talking to her, but she was unsure about doing so so close to the Inferni borders. She began to head back towards the waste, wanting the female to follow her, that was only if she wanted to. She would pause and look around. It was no wonder that this was called the waste. There was nothing here, not even some prey wandering around. The black and white she wolf turned her head to see if the female coyote had followed her. A small smile appeared on her face, but then quickly disappeared. Her depression was still getting the better of her, but she couldn’t really help it. Once the female had caught up with her and introduced herself, the she wolf nodded and finally spoke in return. ”Hello Alyssum. My name is Layla Nishant. I’m from Dahlia de Mai.” She would then take a seat and yawn before she laid down on the earth.

Layla looked to the prey that the coyote was carrying in her mouth and nodded. It was a nice clean kill and she would surely be walking home with a meal in her stomach. She was not so lucky. Seeing as there really was no prey around here, it didn’t look like she was going to get a meal before the evening. She looked over to the hare that was still in the female’s mouth. While it made her hungrier than she already was, she was not about to try and steal this meal away. It was Alyssum’s and she would have to wait until she returned home to go hunting. The mistress’ ears pirked up when she asked about the weather. Ah the typical question to ask anyone. She nodded and looked up to the sky. ”Yeah… it’s getting rather cold now a days.” She shivered for a moment before she curled her tail around he back legs. She was unsure of what to say next. Part of her just wanted her to go back her, telling her that this whole thing was a mistake. The black and white she wolf also wanted to stay behind, wondering if this female knew about the feud that once happened between their two packs. She emitted a soft sigh before she looked over to her with her blue orbs. ”Say… do you know about the war that happened between Inferni and Dahlia de Mai?”

Table by Nuki! /// Hopefully this is better than my last excuse for a post. D> SSWM: 478

The coyote wondered why the she-wolf seemed to be edgy, and she thought for a moment once more if it was her appearance. She slipped her dagger into the belt loop of her pants, since she felt there was no danger here, but kept it loose anyway; in neutral territory, anything could happen at an unsuspected time, but Alyssum wouldn't expect it from Layla. As the Inferni canine followed the mistress for a bit, she noted that her scent was indeed of Dahlia de Mai. She remembered the smell from when she scented it from a distance when she was heading to Halifax, and which was how she steered clear of their borders. But, at up close, the different smell than from Inferni's were slightly overwhelming at their contrast, making her nose twitch like it did when she met Niro of Cour des Miracles.

Alyssum noticed how Layla seemed to have an eye for her kill, and she couldn't help but feel a little defensive, at first. When she was traveling to Canada, she ate what she could and whenever she could, which makes whatever food she collected valuable for her. But, she did eat very early this morning, and probably wasn't as hunger as the she-wolf was, so that smothered her anger. The young woman dropped the rabbit into her hands, now that they were free from holding her knife. It seemed as if it was lighter than Alyssum thought it would be, which made her feel a little disappointed; the prey was maybe already weakened with hunger, and would've put up a better fight and challenge for the Hastati. She thought about sharing, maybe even giving it up to the starving Layla, but she spoke before the coyote could get a word in.

Alyssum agreed fully about the weather. It was getting far colder, even more than what she was used to. Being born in the Southern United States, she was accustomed to milder winters. But, this was far more than what she expected. But, luckily, with her faction of wolf blood, she was blessed with her fur thickening. Though her coat and jeans helped her keep warm, it wouldn't hurt to have a nice layer of fur to keep her extra cozy and protected from the elements.

She twitched her ears at Layla's question, and tilted her head to one side to show her confusion. "I know that Dahlia de Mai and Inferni don't have a good relationship, but no one ever told me of a war..." Alyssum knew that a clan like her's must have gotten into a one or two nasty scraps before, but a war was something she wouldn't assume. Of course, she didn't got asking around relations with the other packs with her packmates, since it may have opened old wounds and they would snap at her for bringing a certain pack into topic.

Sorry for the wait. SSWM: 469

Layla turned her head and was glad to see that the Inferni female had decided to follow her into the neutral territory. She did take notice to the dagger she had slipped into her belt. The mistress had no intentions of harming Alyssum so she wondered why she would even bother to carry the weapon around. It’s not like she was even in the mood to try and harm anyone. Her hint of depression was still there and she did not wish to cause any more bad relations between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni. She looked around and more so tried to look at the Inferni more. She was all brown with bright blue eyes. She had a basic pelt, but beautiful one none the less. The black and white she wolf felt the winter breeze come by and held her arms together for whatever warmth she could get. She was getting so sick of the winter and the cold weather. She wished spring would come by quicker, though she was sure that wasn’t going to happen. She curled her tail around her legs and kept her eyes on the brown female. She didn’t want to seem rude for looking like she was ignoring her, so she tried to keep eye contact for as long as she could.

Layla was a bit surprised to hear that the Inferni female had not been informed on why Inferni and Dahlia de Mai where on bad terms. She looked around to make sure there were no other Inferni members around before she turned to Alyssum and began to tell her just what she had learned from her leader. ”Conor explained to me that Inferni and Dahlia de Mai are on bad terms because they had gotten into a couple war’s in the past. He told me that it had begun when his father, Haku Soul, attacked a coyote from Inferni and then they attacked back.” The mistress couldn’t remember all of the details that Conor had told her, but she was sure that this was enough information to help get her point across of why she didn’t want to get into trouble for being around Inferni. ”It’s because of this that I was unsure about being so close to Inferni… I did not want to bring up any uneasy feelings if any veterains of the war came by.” She was sure that the female would understand where she was coming from and hoped she had learned a bit of her pack’s history from this too. She knew she would be able to get more information from her leaders, but she filled in the basics of what happened; although, she was still afraid that she might have said something wrong. She wouldn’t want to anger the leaders of Inferni for providing false information.
