Ever! This is at Chebucto Peninsula. 300+

The Coast twisted and turned against the jagged landscape, rocky cliffs looming above and choppy ocean waves battering against the sandy beach below. Rio adored the ocean, for she found something fantastical in the eternity of the great sea and its everlasting shoreline. She had enjoyed many hours on Phoenix Valley's magical beaches. Wishing to show her fox friend the ocean, the two had arrived in the late hours of the morning, when the high sun sparkled on the surface of the water.

Toki was wide-eyed and excitable, thrilled by this new experience. Nevertheless, Rio was caught off guard when the small fox took off down the beach at a sprint. Rio caught up with him easily, but before she had time to question his behavior, he darted away from her, yipping mischievously. "Toki!" she called with a lighthearted giggle. He had never been so jumpy and full of energy, and while it was a hassle to chase him, she couldn't bring herself to scold him. She allowed the game to continue, greatly enthused both by the fox's antics and by the beautiful seaside scenery that surrounded them.

They arrived at a strange shift in the landscape, where the beach gave way to a deep forest. Toki lead her right among the greenery, the beach disappearing behind them. The sound of the hissing waves was strangely muffled by the thick forest, yet the soil beneath their paws was soft with traces of sand. The young red fox turned around abruptly and sat on his haunches facing Rio, eyes wide and innocent. The ebony wolf slowed to a stop and knitted her brow. Hungries, now, Toki said almost sheepishly, averting his chocolate gaze yet grinning. On cue, Rio's own belly emitted a furious rumble. Periwinkle gaze observed their surroundings, noting the vibrancy of the colors that meant there was life everywhere. They would have find something to eat.

A wonderful setting, I must say! 357

She started at an easy pace through the woods. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining against the sea as it spread calmly across the shore mingling with the salty froth. These days the female couldn't resist a trip out of Cour Des Miracles, it felt far from forever since she had hunted in the unknown lands. Today she traveled where her father had told her was a brilliant place to catch game. Using her nose and Vigilantes directions, the young silver wolf found the woods easily. A brilliant road canopied with trees on both sides folded out in front of her, invitingly sending scents through her mouth. The air had a sudden chill to it as soon as the small mistress had padded far enough to be obscured by the leaves. There was dew dripping from the branches and a small finch chirped to the sky. Ever fell into a comfortable rhythm, easily avoiding fallen logs and other road blocks.

A strong scent of a rabbit was leading her deeper and deeper into the new territory, but her ears were perked and her eyes bright. She wouldn't get lost. Stomach grumbling, her pelt rippled as she broke into a run. Her legs pumped easily and she let out a beautiful sound. A laugh. The laugh was like crystals shimmering or the ocean singing. The rabbit had jumped from the bushes as she got close. A lucky mistake. Mouth open and pink tongue flapping against her cheek, the female found herself once again in the enjoyable position of being a hunter. Glancing to her side, Ever saw a blue butterfly landing on a yellow tulip. She couldn’t resist. Letting the rabbit continue the chase with her ghost, the silver female came up to the butterfly. It fluttered it’s dazzling cerulean wings but didn’t fly away. A smile spread across her maw and she flung back her head letting out a delighted howl. It didn’t care far for she didn’t mean it to. With one last admiring glance at the butterfly, black paws were once again thumping across the forest floor after the rabbit.

It was strange how some places were quiet and empty, while others teemed with flora and fauna. Here the very air buzzed with activity, electrified by the singing of birds above and the movement of creatures upon the forest floor below. This was truly marvelous. She fancied it much better than Phoenix Valley, for the way the emerald forest jutted into the silver sea. As she stood before Toki, she wished suddenly that they could just abandon the Valley wolves and come here to live on their own. Alas, the possibility of her family's stitching together again lingered in her mind (she was too hopeful a creature, perhaps). She didn't dare leave.

Rabbitses. Toki turned abruptly and started off, Rio following close behind. She had become lost in thought, not paying attention to the task at hand. Perhaps that was why she was so thin: there were so many other things to think of than food, and she was easily drawn away from satisfying her hunger. A quick whiff of the warm, sweet air explained the fox's leap into action — there was a rabbit nearby. The two were silent save for the swish of their paws against a floor of fallen needles and leaves, a quiet noise. Rio's sharp gaze caught the form of a brown rabbit leaping her way, surprised even further by the agouti wolf hot on its trail. It was the perfect fantasy ambush. Rio crouched quickly, awaiting the terrified creature. It spotted her only to late, just before her nimble pounce and lock of jaws around its throat, ending its life.

Toki, who seemed to have disappeared off to the side while she made her kill, suddenly reappeared and gave the rabbit carcass a hopeful sniff. Rio's eyes were trained upon the lupine figure, the rabbit's original huntress. She hoped that the unknown female wouldn't be angered by the stolen kill. This is yours, the sable girl called, smiling cheerily. Beside her, Toki grunted in dismay.

Losing interest in things was one of her strongest qualities. Even when she was young her mother would tell her that as they sat in the den while her brother and father were training. Instantly, with just one little thought, the walls the female had built so carefully around her most infelicitous part of life were destroyed. She could have broken down. Right there. But the thought, though it ruined the wonderful summer moment, lingered. Don’t loose interest … She looked down at her thumping paws and tasted how the fragrance of prey danced deliciously on her tongue. Strength was what she needed now. Though you could hardly call hunting an interest … the mistress slowed and tossed her head, clearing the thoughts. It wasn’t the first she had had a mental fight with herself and her deceased mother. Normally it caused headaches. Irrational ones that often brought out the dark side of Ever she never wanted anyone to see. So she continued, pushing away the thoughts and began establishing another stronger wall. All of this was breath taking and didn’t happen in seconds, so when the silver furred wolf looked back up again, she was surprised to see her rabbit in front of her no more. But the scent came. It was muddled a first with another dog—like aroma but it became clear. Wolf.

At first she furious she had lost track of the prey she needed, hiding in her thoughts like a coward. But the moment passed and she turned on the other female, feeling like she was to blame. Dawning on the younger black pelted wolf, she saw the familiar sparkle in her purple eyes. It was much like her own at times. Ever thought rapidly, she was beginning to feel like an elder, always remember times when they were young. Glancing shyly back over at the girl, she noticed she could only be but two or three months younger. Suddenly, she produced the rabbit, claiming that it was fairly her catch. That was the water to her flame, which had already began to fade. Thank you. The mistress said quietly, her tone gentle and fluid like wind chimes in the water. Looking down at the rabbit, she took a sharp claw and cut it in half. One side was noticeably larger, but Ever gave it to the other wolf, refusing to be oblivious to her companion. There you are, I could not leave you empty handed with a pounce like that. Her tone remained the same but the pleasure had leaked back in.

Rio knew the pain of being trapped inside. Sometimes she was locked away in her mind through a provocation, while at other times she fell into the abyss without warning. She did not even like to think of the sick gloom her thoughts periodically drowned in. Recently, she had successfully ignored it with the distraction Toki gave her.
One never knew what lay in wait around the corner, but she had confidence that there was nothing sinister there today. Indeed, the woman who'd chased the rabbit right into her ambush seemed disoriented at first, perhaps irritated; Rio could not determine for sure. For a fleeting moment she worried that she'd upset the stranger by stealing her kill. She did not want to have another experience like the one with Enkiel.

It became clear that her fears were unneeded. The gray-furred fey offered thanks in a voice that was smooth and musical, like the flow of a spring. Periwinkle eyes curiously watched as the woman dissected the rabbit into halves. She wished to reject the larger half that was pushed gently her way and take the smaller instead. Thank you, Miss, but are you certain...? she queried, her face tilted quizzically to one side. She did not understand why the stranger would give her more to eat than she gave herself. Her fox sniffed their half of the carcass before Rio could stop him, but in the next second, she cast him a meaningful glance. Upon looking at the sable girl's face, he backed off to take his place beside and a little beneath the wolf's skinny body. He understood that Rio wanted to assure herself before eating, crazy as it seemed.

She was an unselfish women, the silver female, and needed to make no effort to allow the cheechako girl the larger half of the prey. Her frame was skinny as it was, along with the red companion she walked with. Two mouths to feed was greater than one Ever assumed with dignity and a nod. Knowing well where she stood in the meal, the girl waited for the unnamed canine to eat first. She wanted to be positive the emaciated women would eat without uncertainty.

Of course the silver wolf knew that her kindness would get her in trouble someday, in whatever event that may occur. Her mind hummed with unusual thoughts and dark out comes even as the warm breeze caressed her cheeks, smelling of lavender and ocean spray. The black girl’s fur disheveled in the disturbance and Ever smiled a reassuring grin. The air tasted richly of summer and the abundance of prey while something scurried in the leaves and a bird warbled a solo to the sky.

Even the girl with the ashen pelt knew the feeling of being lonely. A solo too many people have trilled alone. But glancing back at the Mistress with the fox, Ever felt the warmth flow into her face and into her heart. The isolation the female was oblivious too had lifted in the blink of an eye as soon as company had appeared in her presence. Naturally she was not picky at who she spent her time with for the wolf had not met many in her short time in Miracles. Not even everyone in her home pack had been acquainted with her or knew her name. It almost made Ever cry out. Since her mother had died she had always felt so far away from people, never daring to get close. But as she thought of her disrupted life, her heart couldn’t help thump for the Cours male.

No problemo lovely! <3 wotd: absquatulate

For the fairy, the song of the single bird was thought provoking. The unseen creature was calling for a mate, perhaps, but would it be answered? There were many lonely souls in the world, and the bird sang to them all. Bright eyes watched her companion for a few harmless seconds, wondering if she too had noticed the melody of the lone bird. Rio wanted this with an inexplicable force. She didn't wish to be the only one touched in a tender place by the melancholy song. Nevertheless, she kept her mouth shut lest she evoke discomfort in their small circle.

Her thoughts suddenly absquatulated, nose awakening the hunger that she rarely seemed to notice. Toki had already feverishly pulled one of the limbs off their half and begun to eat, a satisfied smile on his coy face. The sight of him feasting strengthened her hunger and gave her the courage to take a dainty bite of the rabbit. She savored the mild but delicious taste on her tongue, letting her eyes flit towards their companion every few moments. With its trilling soloist singing in the shadows, the quiet forest seemed a restful place, and Rio fell completely into peace. Nevermind that this was probably because the rabbit's flesh had replenished her, mind and body; she was not good at listening to her own needs.

The Phoenix Valley pair finished their meal. Licking her maw the cleanse it of blood, Rio smiled to her new acquaintance. Thank you, she repeated with soft fervency, forgetting that she'd already thanked the woman. What is your name?

Would there ever be someone to mend the cloud pelted female’s heart? The hole in her core ebbed painfully as the bird’s call became an absent part of the sounds in the forest. She hesitated above the prey, maw closed, eyes staring at nothing but blankly ahead. Her consciousness flickered for a moment and the world went dark. But the light shone into her bright eyes, less than a second disconnected with her soul. Rich greens and comforting browns bloomed like blood across her vision and sparse bouquets of wild flowers caught her eye. The girl remained expressionless as she daintily placed her muzzle into the rabbit. Teeth ripping open flesh, warm scents and tastes flooded her mouth and she continued to eat; her eyes brightening like lightening with a sudden burst of interest. She was not a frugal eater and tended to eat until her stomach was pleasantly full, for Ever always found herself in some sort of exerting position; running or dancing through the territory. With an overly stuffed figure, this was impossible.

The silver pelted hybrid straightened up just in time to catch the other wolf’s eye. She thanked her with satisfaction and asked of her name. Ever’s curled tail flicked in the breeze that ruffled her fur before she answered.

Ever Mayawyn, Maraquess of Cour des Miracles,

She spoke with deep pleasure in her voice while her ashen aqua eyes sparkled in the decrepit sunlight filtering through the canopy. The girl couldn’t help the excitement that hugged her heart at the thought of meeting the other female. She had always worked comfortably with Phoenix Valley wolves, which she could smell on the black wolves pelt. The thought of Domonick and the crackling fire on the blackest of nights warmed Ever from inside out, her cheeks flushed with amusement.

This is complete crap. I apologize.

Rio was a quick eater, never really taking time to enjoy her food. Eating had always seemed a chore for her, and she had given Xeris plenty of grief for this reason in her childhood. When at last she had finished, her bright gaze lingered upon the sweet face of her acquaintance. She was surprised to see a very faraway look in the woman's crystal eyes. Hopefully she had done nothing to trouble her. Rio could not stand to burden others.

Ever. she repeated as if taste testing the name on her own tongue. That's a beautiful name. It was simple yet elegant, and it seemed to suit the other's features quite well. My name is Rio, of Phoenix Valley. Ever claimed to hail from a place pleasantly familiar to the sable girl, causing her to think fondly of her ocher Knight brother. Cour des Miracles had always seemed a wonderful place, judging simply from its name and of course, its resident that she loved. Do you know Haven? she ventured, settling back upon her bony haunches, very much at ease.

Ever flickered her ears pleasantly at the other female’s comment. She seemed slightly approving at where the girl came from. Then she introduced herself as Rio. Such an innocent name, perfect for the girls slim figure and sable pelt. As the silver wolf had thought, she came from Phoenix Valley, a place Ever had never ventured to, but had become strongly acquainted with the wolves who generated there. So far, the shy hybrid had not traveled far from Cour des Miracles, afraid of causing more trouble and stress to her father or getting lost when it got dark.

She had met most of the members of her pack, though few were just merely rumors or names tossed back and forth in harmless conversation. So when Rio spoke of a Haven, the girl could only theoretically shrug her shoulders.
I have heard of the brave warrior,

Ever answered, her eyes glinting with the common interest the two wolves had found.

He is mate to one of close friends, do you know him well?

Of course she was curious as to how the midnight pelted female knew of Haven who was indeed mate to Princess, a new friend she had become close too. But then again, she thought of her friends in the Valley.

Do you know Domonick?

The male was a very friend wolf she had met awhile back and would never forget. He told her many things she needed to know and would use in the future. Wise and cunning, she had dubbed him that night.
