Bitter cold

WC: 406 (3 Points) OOC: Hehehe don’t worry he’s too curious to run, and he won’t like try to chase her off Big Grin

He was sitting close to the fire sulking, his mommy told him that he couldn’t eat more than normal because he would still get cold no matter how fat he got… then why did that deformed wolf say so? Well so what if he couldn’t eat anyway, at least the fire was warm and this was where he’ll lay for a long time…. Whenever it got warm again, if it ever got warm again. But it was so boring here, he groaned, leaning on the floor. His thin body stretching. He wanted to see how far apart he could get his feet. Why did it have to be like this, cold and windy, and even the stuff called snow was worse!! And he learned they had more than what he’d seen…. Twice as much!!!!

Denali didn’t like that idea, what was he suppose to do when that all came? And where had it come from? He pondered this, starting to feel uncomfortable as the mask he’d always worn was cutting against the back of his neck since he was laying on it, he sat up and stared at the fire, if he was fire he’d never be cold, he would always be hot, he wondered what it was like to be flames in a fire pit. Where did the fire go when someone banked it, what happened to the fire when it got wet and hissed? Did it go somewhere else? He’d started to get lots of different questions in his head like he normally did.

this table so doesn't fit with the theme BUT THAT'S OKAY

It was nippy outside, that was very true. But Silvano did not really mind it at all. It was just a light chill to him as his thicker fur was starting to come in with gusto. That and he was slowly approaching adulthood in the pack. He even could shift into optime now! It was good to be him and he felt proud, even as he wandered the crunchy grass outside of the mansion. It was warmer in there and he knew his mother would like it if he would come inside now and then to be warm. Getting sick was not in his best interests and the Sadira had no plan to get sick. Looking down, the grass looked stiff from the remaining frost on the ground. How could it still be frosty? It was not that cold! Not really. Or did he just not fee lit?

Still lupine, Silvano struggled to open the door to the mansion. Grumbling, he took the time to change to his seven month height, able to reach the doorknob with ease. Pushing the door in, Silvano changed back, ignoring the draft he was letting in. With a quick kick to the door, it shut with a slam and the pup eyed the den. He heard noise and smelled another wolf. A sibling? And the fire seemed like it was roaring. Straight faced, the Sadira came up to the fire, feeling the blood throb in his extremities as the heat shifted into them. "Denali? How come you're inside and not out?" he inquired, asking his adopted brother with a searching look. "It's nice out."

OOC: stupid ooc stuff lol

Denali was remembering better days, pretending he was out in the field on a hot summers day chasing lizards or what not, sitting on a turtle or even just laying down in the heat of the sun. that’s what he wanted to do but there was no warmth anymore except for right here… and his imagination, but that was shattered when he heard the door to the mansion shut, it reverberated through the halls, and into the room where the main fire was, though it took Denali a second to find out who it was, he’d unknowingly jumped to his feet when Silvano entered the room, quite inquisitive as to why Denali was in here and not outside.

Too cold, can’t stop shivering.

He said and thinking about it he started to shiver uncontrollably. He looked at his brother, though he knew he was adopted all the siblings he now had were just that to him, siblings. He rarely interacted with Silvano, though he didn’t know why he was mostly gone doing whatever it was that he did best, like Denali had always been the best at chasing lizards, at least that’s what he thought he was good at.

Whatcha doing in? you’re always outside

He said turning the question around on the older male, he’d grown to look up to them even though they were only a few months older than them, their whole outlook on life right now was quite different than his despite the small difference in age. Denali was still a puppy, though he wasn’t without an adult thought here or there.

Silvano gave a soft whine at his adopted brother. Poor kid was cold in this weather.. was there something up with his pelt? Wasn't Denali some other kind of wolf, from the south where it was so much warmer in the winter? Maybe that's why he suffered so much here in the cold. Silvano felt some of it but most of it was wiped away against his wintsummer fur, which was so much thicker than his summer one. "Aw, I'm sorry, Denali." There was pity and sympathy in his voice as he thought about how miserable Denali had to be in this weather. Oh why had the boy come here where it was so cold?

Feel rather bad for the other boy, the Sadira padded next to him and laid down beside him, leaning against him in hopes of getting him warmer. "I figured Mamma would like me to go in now and then, just in case, ya know?" He could feel his brother shivering beside him and he whined again, wondering what to do to make him warm. Running around would definitely help, but he was not nearly as creative in adventures as Artemis was. Maybe they could wrestle as brothers typically did? "You're so cold, Denny.."

WC: OOC: well yay for short posts ^^

He felt bad now for making Silvano feel sorry for him, he didn’t want anyone feeling sorry for the pup, he was cold but when he saw the puppy seem sad and apologize he quickly made himself work at not being cold, thinking of the hot summer days where he’d be panting the whole time. It kinda worked, but Silvano sat next to him, and talked about mommy, it was amazing he had a brother now and before he didn’t. though this pup was a bit older than he was. He turned to Silvano wanting to get his mind off of being cold now reminded of it, Denali gave playful growl and nipped at his brother’s ear. Adopted or not he could care less if the boy next to him was his blood or not he was now his sibling no matter what anyone said.

Denali growled and the other pup yelped as he felt the playful bite at his ear. Well why didn't he think of that before? The two of them could roughhouse, tumble and wrestle. That always warmed Silvano up when he played like that with Artemis. But he'd have to be more careful here since Denali was smaller than him, both by breed and by age. Growling back at the other boy, the Sadira rolled up on top of the other boy, nipping at his ear, pulling it slightly with some light growling noises. "Betcha can't beat me," he taunted between ear bits. Jumping off Denali, the Sadira got into a wrestling stance, lower back higher up than his head as he spread his paws wide, ready to jump or dodge accordingly. "Come on Denali! You'll get warm too!"

OOC: Short puppy post!

Now that’s what Denali was talking about as the other boy knew the signs of play in an instant. He was rolled on his back and his own ear pulled. He laughed as his brother jumped away, and taunted him. Denali rolled over and chased after Silvano, laughing all the while as he jumped to get the boy, though he knew that he would surely miss but he’d try anyway.

I can do it, you just have to stay still!

He laughed as he charged after Silvano.

Silvano looked over his shoulder, tongue lolling out of his mouth as the older boy stuck it out at the younger. "No you can't! Prooooove it, Deny!" cried Silvano, laughing as he turned back forward, yelping as he noticed he had run pretty much into the couch. Skidding to a halt, he thumped into the couch with an "umpth" and then Denali crashed into Silvano in an attempt to catch the other boy. Taking the chance, the Sadira pup pushed aside the smaller wolf and ran down the length of the couch. "Nyeh, nyeh!" he taunted kicking up his back legs like he saw the horses do. In a sing-song tone, he added, "Can't catch me!"

ooc...

Denali was taking the teasing as well as he could, but it made him want to get Silvano even more, but he was so fast, and Denali with his short stature and legs, had a hard time catching up to his brother, but it didn’t seem to last long as Silvano ran right into the couch and Denali ran right into Silvano. That didn’t stop the older boy from pushing Denali out of the way and running the other direction. Denali jumped up on to the couch and ran over the cushions to catch up to Silvano.

GATCHA!

He said, jumping from the edge of the couch to try and catch his brother.

another one at school whoa

Silvano did not see where his brother ran off too, but he didn't glance back this time for fear of running into something else. Lord knew he would. He was so sure he could outrace the younger boy that he didn't look up or back to see where he was. The Sadira pup passed the edge of the couch and suddenly heard Denali cry - from above him. Too late he looked up, seeing the other boy launch himself off the couch and on top of him. Silvano fell flat with the weight of his brother, yelping out as his back legs were pinned down. Growling playfully, he tried to turn onto his back so that he could kick the other away and off, so the chase could continue.

OOC: FEAR THE CUTENESS!!!... I hope it’s cute enough to ignore the stupid count Tongue

He was surprised when he fell on top of Silvano, but he’d gotten him and he laughed,

See I Gatcha I gatcha!!!!

As his brother struggled to get out from under him Denali jumped away, and assumed play stance, ready to run away when Silvano got up.

You can’t get me!!

He knew better of course, he’d have to run really really fast to stay away from Silvano’s long stride. And with that he burst into a really fast run, trying to get around the room, his tongue hanging out as he giggled.

Growling lightly, the pup shimmied away. "Pft, fine!" he admitted, only to have Denali got off of him, and suddenly the two had switched roles. Silvano spun on his longer legs, almost tripping over his own crossed limbs. The other boy bolted and the Sadira pup launched after him, concentrating on pumping his legs to move faster. He was bigger, older, and therefore, he should be able to catch Denali without having to resort to the laws of gravity. It wasn't working though!

The floor was slippery and his nails clicked against the wood in places. He skidded now and then too as he tried to sharply change direction. Ugh! Why wasn't this working? Was the shorty just faster than him? Huffing, Silvano changed tactics, trying to cut corners and collide with Denali to get him into a barrel roll. Maybe that would work and they could tumble for a while, trying to be the one to pin the other down and win the game.

ooc...

Denali had no idea what Silvano was up to, he just knew he had to run as fast as he could to keep away from the other boy, though it wasn’t to last long, he was getting tired and suddenly Silvano did run right into Denali and they started rolling across the floor of the mansion. He tried getting on top but with the bulk of his brother being a bit harder for Denali to handle, he found himself laying on his back panting… it was definitely not so cold for him anymore and he was having fun on top of that.

You got me

He said, almost disappointed he couldn’t keep away from his brother any longer than he had, but he’d win someday soon and he’d be proud of himself… right now he was laying on his back laughing, trying not to feel too disappointed.

Silvano laughed as they tumbled, giving out his playful juvenile growls and yips while they rolled. Eventually, he managed to turn Denali and got on top, pinning the younger boy down by the shoulders. He was careful, gentle, but still had his legs stiff, rigid, so that the younger boy could not bend his knees and push him off. "Hah! I win!" An older boy might have lost on purpose to the younger male, but the differences in their ages was small and Silvano had no idea it would have been better to let Denali have a slight ego boost; after all, if he had given the win to Denali, the Sadira would have known he could have won but had the dignity to let the other boy win. Naturally, he was not old enough to even consider this kind of thing yet.

Nipping at Denali's ear, Silvano scrambled off of his adopted brother, tail wagging fiercely. "You'll get me next time," he told the other boy in a sing song voice, certain that with practice and secret knowledge (and maybe a training session with Artemis), Denali could indeed beat out Silvano. Somehow. "Are you warm now?" he asked, curiously looking at the other. Surely he had to be warm now.

OOC: ; ; well I suppose we gotta end this … though there’s room for another game for the two, now that both can shift!! Maybe snowball fight since Denali will be able to wrap himself up now Big Grin

Denali wasn’t sad at all, in fact he was happy for Silvano cause he did win, he got a tug at the ear before he was allowed to get up, and he laughed a little.

I hope I get you next time!

He said, he knew he was a bit younger than Silvano, but one day he might be able to pin him down, even if they were adults when that happened, but he’d make sure he’d finally have at least one win. He was panting now, and at the boys question, knew he was quite warm now he shook his head happily.

Yeah and I had fun!

but all his fun had also wore the pup out and he gave a great big yawn to prove it, though he would deny that he was tired at all, but he knew if he lay down now he’d fall right to sleep.

"Better practice if you wanna do that!" His mother was the pack warrior, the fighter of them all. And he was her blood. Maybe he could he-hulk it up. Denali was still enthusiastic, but it was clear that he was getting tired from the rough housing. Silvano, too, was feeling a bit drained from it, but probably not as much as Denali. Silvano, after all, was older and had a little more stamina; he had to deal with Artemis for far longer than his adopted brother. "Good! Good!" he yipped, tail wagging fiercely behind him in his vigor.

Denali yawned and Silvano raised an eyebrow as he cocked his head at the other boy. Stepping up to the other boy, the Sadira pup nudged his brother in the direction of the fire. "Go by the fire, Denny," he ordered, with all the authority his youth allowed him. "Go nap where it's warm." Heck, even Silvano would not have said no to that.
