OOC: Since she is a Luperci, this is in Optime form...

Asaria yelped as she felt the low-hanging branch scratch her coat, the skin on her neck ripping open and the blood pouring out. It felt like her skin was on fire beneath her reddish brown coat. The coolness of the early spring air did nothing to ease her pain. Dried blood gathered the long winter hairs into uncomfortable bundles across her back and sides, pulling the follicles to their elastic limit. She shut her eyes, willing herself to sleep. When the pain became too great, she retched, standing slowly, ripping her eyelids apart quite painfully. She did not expect to be alive. With a shaking hand, the girl began wiping the blood from her fur. Her body shook in an attempt to free itself from the blood's rigid embrace, but found its efforts futile. Asaria looked around, expecting to see a deep forest full of murderous looking branches, but instead saw the borders of a pack. Before her blood-burned eyes rose something that she had been searching for for months. What was this place?

She shook with pain, standing up to her full height of 5' 8", yelling curse words as loud as she possibly could. Her strength was fading, and it was everything she could do to keep from passing out as she waited for someone to come. She felt her consciousness slipping away, and passed out on the ground right near the pack borders.

Welcome to 'Souls! Big Grin If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I'll do my best in answering them.

Strel had taken to doing more walks along the borders, taking more time to himself that way, and trying to be a good little courtier and doing his duty of patrol. Granted, he had been slipping up and down the ranks of late, but that was not all his fault. He was emotional and Noss leaving was taking a toll on him. He was quieter, a little more bored with things. But this was how he felt he could do his part even though he had little power and only his co-rank to influence that pack. Well and the fact he had been here for two years that coming summer. But he doubted any cared about his seniority. Strel was probably the longest living member of the kingdom, aside from Haven. He might have been around longer than Vigilante, he thought, but was unsure. But patrol.. it was something he could do.

The overpowering stench of blood came over him. He wrinkled his muzzle as he narrowed his eyes at the scent. Either someone left a kill to rot and bleed, or something else had gone down on the borders of the kingdom he loved. Taking a guarded stance, the rather delicate man pushed a few branches aside and caught sight of a creature collapsed on the forest floor. It seemed to have just reached the borders but had failed to call out before something overtook it. Smelling a little more thoughtfully, he could tell it was a female. As he knelt beside her, delicately examining her, he confirmed her gender. Waking her up was probably not the wisest choice. Her injuries seemed severe.

Shaking her lightly on her uninjured shoulder, hoping to rouse her. "Miss? If you can hear me, please wake up a little.. can't help you if you don't wake up a bit," he said softly, trying to be gentle. He might have to find a way to carry her to the Hotel and Alaine's healing hands. That should not be too hard considering he was at least a foot taller than her. Maybe a foot and a half even. She seemed thin, though the blood on her pelt worried him. What happened to the poor creature?

OOC: Thanks! Smile

Through the misty haze of semi-consciousness Asaria was dimly aware of someone tapping her shoulder. She groaned, trying but not succeeding to open her eyes, coughing up blood mixed with vomit as she tried to sit up. It took her a moment to realize where she was and what had happened, and the memory alone was almost enough to make her pass out again. She rested quietly for a few seconds, then her eyes fluttered open, her long black eyelashes almost the only part of her body not stained with blood. Asaria examined the male in front of her. He was larger than her, but not by too much, and didn't seem dangerous to her, even in her fatally injured state.

"I-I think I'm going to die. I don't really know what happened, just that I bumped into a really sharp, vicious knife- like branch and lost a lot of blood and probably damaged my neck pretty badly," she managed to say as she crossed the border into delirium.

A few seconds later, she woke up again, feeling nothing below the middle of her back, but still able to move nevertheless. She felt her heart start beating faster and louder, as if she was drunk, until she couldn't stand it anymore and felt herself succumb to both her mind and her body's pain. Although she was still physically alive, the mental shock was even worse than the physical one, and would leave her unable to think normally for days. She sat up, ignoring the pain in her shoulder, waiting for her next 'instructions.'

"Careful.." The female tried to sit up, which had not resulted well at all. Strel had to nudge her away from him as she coughed up blood and bile, making him furrow his brows further. It was disgusting, but more or less alarming than before. Now something was genuinely wrong with this woman other than exhaustion. She was tired, ill, and bleeding. The last two combined did not comfort the redhead male, especially if it came to carrying the woman all the way to the hotel from here. It would be a painful task but he would do it. Even if he would later whine and complain to her once she was better from Alaine's TLC.

"I'm sure you'll be okay," he said, trying to be optimistic rather than his usual pessimism - well, usual pessimism of late. "Our healer is rather good at what she does, so I'm sure she'll make you right as rain soon enough." But his words did not seem to have much effect, since the woman slipped back into unconsciousness. He looked around, wondering who to call first, Vigilante or Alaine. Alaine had to help the woman, but Vigilante had to approve her presence here.

She awoke again, and seemed to sit up with less pain and effort than she had before. Maybe it was suddenly a tad better? "Do you think you can stand?" he inquired, rising to his feet as she focused on him. He turned away and howled out, calling for Alaine or Vigilante, whoever came running first. "If you think you can stand and walk, I'll hold you up. If you can't, I can try carrying you as far to the Hotel as I can, or we can wait here for the royal escort." Naturally the royal escort was just Vigilante, but any help would have been welcome at this point.
