[aw] I pray you'll be alright

She was sitting on the steps of the manor. She hadn't chosen a room yet, preferring instead to sleep outside and watch the stars. She found herself thinking of Budha and Sora, and hoping they were okay. She thought too of Willow and Haku, of Tal and Noah, and even of Lucifer, the fallen angel who had almost destroyed her. It had been three years since the fire that had drove her to these lands, where Conri, Naniko, Lucifer, herself, and three others had formed the pack of Twilight Vale, along with her two sons and her grandsons. Jazper had come later, and she'd demanded her adopted son be taken in. It seemed so very long ago that she had taught him how to read. And it had been a long time ago. She would be nine in March. She'd met Thanos when she was almost 2. Meeting him had set off a chain of events that had changed her life forever.

She had returned not knowing how much -and how little- life had changed in the lands. She stretched out her legs, leaning back to stare at the sky. She took in a slow breath, and let it out slowly, drinking in deeply of Crimson Dreams scents. She smiled gently, then sat up again, returning her attention to the sketchbook in her lap. She was doodling, really. Nothing firm was taking shape, though stray lines here and there were revealing a small female face, soft with sleep. Sora. Deuce had left her in good hands. Her daughter would be safe with Budha.

Deuce sighed softly, shutting the sketchbook and returning it to her satchel. Also in the satchel was a small bundle of lavender. The pallid woman loved the scent of lavender. It suited her well, so she carried it with her, or rubbed some of the dried brush against her fur to carry the scent with her. She wondered if her small lavender patch was still here. She'd grown three different types of lavender. She could bundle up more and dry it.

Why wait until later? She stood, stretching her lithe frame. It hadn't been too far from the manor that she had planted the lavender. And it grew back year after year. True, one or two of the three breeds might not be flowering right then, but she could make sure they were there. They had been behind the house, in the meadow. She rounded the corner, proceeding down a well used path. She smiled as she walked, remembering taking this path with Tal many times. It didn't take the woman long to find what she wanted. By the stone wall in the center of the feild, her lavender was still growing. She laughed softly, seeing the deep purple blooms were just starting to fade. The soft pink lavender was flowering strong, and the whitish lavender was too. All three were flowering. She took in a deep breath, appreciating the heady sweetness. She'd come back in the morning after the dew had dried, to harvest some to dry.

OOC: this thread looked lonely, hope you don't mind the basketcase.+5 (520)

Things had been quite weird lately. He had heard on the wind that Crimson Dreams was having some conflict with another pack, with the pack that Krystalle knew, none the less. It was weird, and he felt insecure in his own home again. He was on guard, and he did not want his children to be subjected to this conflict, nor did he want to have anything to do with the conflict with the two packs. He would protect his family when he needed to, but that was it. He was not going to worry about anything else. He didn't have the sanity to do so, so he wouldn't participate, as long as everyone left him alone in Piccolo. Today he was feeling pretty adventurous of the packlands though, so he had wandered out of Piccolo and he had also left Krystalle with the two growing pups this afternoon.

Speaking of the woman, they had gotten into yet another fight because of his stupidness. He had the audacity of giving her pups and then trying to push her away once they were older. He didn't mean to hurt her, he really didn't but he couldn't love her, it was against his nature. He did not know why he couldn't love, but it was just something that he couldn't do. He hadn't loved anyone before, and he didn't know how to do it really. He was stupid to the concept, though he was not aromantic. He could be romantic, but never sexual, not unless he was Bartholomew, whom seemed to be ruled by his penis. He tried to reconcile with the woman, but he had been unsuccessful as of late. This was something else that had made him leave the house today. He did not want to deal with the tension, so he wouldn't. He would find a way to get her to where she would not be mad at him anymore, and when he did, it would be dramatic, more than likely, and hopefully it would be for the best and it would work.

He had been wandering close to the manor when he had seen the sight of a woman he had not seen before, but the scent was of a Dreamer, and then he had gotten a glance of something that he had found to be vaguely familiar, but he didn't know what it was about her. He wandered closer, cautiously. When he was close enough, he had cocked his tri-colored skull at the woman and he opened his mouth to speak. Hello there...My name is Mars Russo. Have I....met you before? the man asked, wondering why she looked so familiar. Little did Mars Russo realize, but Bartholomew slept with this woman's son. There was no way for him to remember this, for it was not his memory, but something about those unique eyes was familiar to the male. This much he was sure of. That's all he would ever be sure of. It seems like....I might have met you before...But I'm uhm...no sure... he awkwardly spoke to the woman, trying to figure out why she looked so familiar.

((WC:3+ Thanks!))
She had just picked a small sprig of lavender when a soft voice spoke. She straightened, tucking the sprig of lavender behind her torn ear, smiling in welcome. "Hello, Mars. I'm Deuce Rhiannon. I don't think we've met before... however..." She paused for a moment, thinking back. "I may have known a relative of yours. Rurik Russo. He was alpha back in Syemv. He was a good friend." She smiled at the male, her tail wagging easily. "It was quite a while ago," she added almost apologetically.

She studied him, her posture at ease. She had no real reason to feel uneasy with her pack mates. They were just extended family, related through trust instead of shared lineage. His face shared some traits with the Russian male she vaguely remembered. But there were unfamiliar traits there too. She cocked her head slightly, her white blond mane falling over her shoulder, the grey at the temples barely showing.

"There are others in the lands who look similar. At least, there used to be. Tayui and I look somewhat alike. My son Tal used to be my twin almost. I know there used to be many white wolves running around, but not all of them looked like me. Winddancer, Naniko, both the older and younger Colibri, Pendzez... any of those names ringing bells for you, Mars?" She didn't really mean to ramble, but he was one of the first in the new lands to talk to her, and she wanted to get to know her pack mates better.

It had to be something left over from when she was Shaman of Phoenix Valley. She'd always tried to get to know the members of the pack. It had made for solidarity to know each other at least on a first name basis. She regretted leaving her pack now. Yes, she hadn't approved of Jefferson, and yes she'd been furious when Iskata kept allowing in hybrids, but that was all minor things now. Bottom line was, she never should have left them.

She introduced herself with a certain grace that Mars was sure that he had not seen before. He still found those eyes to be oddly familiar, though he would never be able to put his finger on where exactly he had seen such unique eyes before. The harder he thought about it, the more faces would pop in his mind. Sooner or later, his mind would stop on Addison D'Angelo, the woman whom had given Axel to him. That's where he had seen those eyes before. She mentioned his father, and how he was Alpha of some pack she was in awhile back. He had been unaware of his father being an Alpha, for he just figured that his father was a stupid drunk now adays. Some respect for the Russian had returned into the body of Mars, though not enough for Mars to seek the man again, no. Mars was scared of water, so he'd never be able to follow his father to Russia. Not only that but Mars did not know a lick of the Russian language. Rurik is my father.. He abandoned me when I was little, and then again as an adult. he said bluntly, and his voice was rather dark, a good signal that he was not on good terms with Rurik at the moment. Hell, The man had abandoned his son and his grandchildren, so why Rurik would be honored was beyond him at the moment. Not only that but recently, Mars had met his little brother whom was sold into slavery by someone, so how could Rurik let that happen to one of his own children? Did he not care about his own spawn? It didn't seem so.

The old woman went on to speak of others whom looked like her. The name "Tal" rang a bell in the back of his mind, but he was not able to access that part of his mind so he did not recognize any of the names that she had presented in front of him. He shook his head. Sorry, no, none of those names ring a bell. Though, I did meet a girl by the name of Addison D'Angelo whom had the same color eyes as you. The one yellow and the one blue. I found them to be quite beautiful, as are they on you as well, Miss Deuce. the male spoke to her, giving her a compliment, something hard to come across upon the first meeting of Mars Russo.. Are you new to Crimson Dreams, Lady Deuce? I haven't been here long myself, so not very many people know me, and I also live with my pups and girl out in Piccolo village so we are pretty isolated there. Don't get too many pack members visiting... he mentioned, wondering it she was an old or new member.

Her heart constricted at the idea of Rurik abandoning his son. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. He was always a good leader to us." Us. All of Syemv. She barely remembered why or when he left, only that he left Akumu in charge, Akumu who kicked her out of the pack. All because she had issues with depression back then. She didn't have those problems any more. When he mentioned Addison, she brightened up. "My granddaughter, Addi. She was the daughter of Dierdre. Is Addi still around? I haven't seen her since she was knee high to a grasshopper." She grinned at the male, her tail wagging again. His sweet compliment made her feel proud, as if she had chosen the eye color herself. The eye color was a Rhiannon trait. At least one pup in each generation ended up with the mismatched eyes. Dierde's had once been green and blue, before changing to one blue and one gold.

When she was asked if she was new, she had to stop and think on how to answer him and his question. "I was part of Twilight Vale, the pack that preceded Crimson dreams. So in that sense, I'm a very old member. But I've only been back here a short while. So really, your answer is that I'm new here." She laughed softly, then asked him a question. "I haven't heard of Piccolo Village. Is it new? Or was it just not part of the territory back in my days here?" Wait, he was newish too. He might not know the answer to her pointless question.

She asked another question, almost right on top of the first. It was just her way of talking once she wanted to talk. "How many pups do you have? How old are they? Can I come see them? I love pups. I've had five litters of pups myself in my almost nine years of life." She smiled at him again, her tail still wagging.

She apologized for his father's sin against him.Mars shook his head and held up his blackened hand to the woman. You should not apologize for him, for it is his sin, and not yours. I still do not forgive him unless he comes to me and begs for it. Like he'd ever even do that anyways. the male spoke to her, shaking his head and sighing lightly before he moved his hand to the cuff of his leather jacket. The woman asked about the girl whom he had met, Addison, and if she was still around or not. Mars looked into her eyes and then to her muzzle. I haven't seen her in many months. I don't know if she went to the new pack that merged Phoenix Valley with Dahlia De Mai. the male spoke to the woman and nodded his head. Sorry I couldn't be more of help to you. Mars apologized, feeling bad that he couldn't help reunite her with her granddaughter.

She then went on to speak about how she was an old member in the sense that she had been here before the pack Crimson Dreams had been here. She seemed to like to talk a lot while Mars had been more of a quiet man himself. He didn't mind the talkativeness of the woman though, because he knew many that were quite the conversationalists. She got to her point pretty late in the sentences she littered in front of that. She was new, like he was. He nodded his head and then she asked him if Piccolo village was a new part of the territory. I'm not sure, but considering no one ever visits or lives there I would assume so. his sentence was short to the woman. She piled another question on top of him and he pulled his ears back lightly.

Two, Paz and Amon Russo.. They are about three months or so now.. he started to speak to her, not knowing if he wanted her to meet them or not, but then he had considered that she had five litters and she would know pups more so than he. It would probably take a lot of time for him to trust her alone with his children but maybe later when she did gain his trust he would let her babysit the pups so that Krystalle would have a break. You can meet them sometime.. he spoke to this woman. So....do you do anything special? wow, how more awkwardly could you ask that question Mars?
