Orin Takekuro

:: OOC ♥ Feel free to finish our other thread first before replying, if you want. Mars's reaction to my last post in that thread will highly affect how this one starts out. Smile ::

Another puppy had been killed in Cercatori d’Arte. It hadn’t even been a year since Demetrius’s murder and now Sky’s little girl, Tammy, was dead. And this time the pack lost more than just a puppy… This time Sky and Taliesin lost two children. The murderer had been none other than Taliesin’s own son, Liam. Had Orin known anything of their blood line she would have thought it was to be expected of him. It was good that she didn’t. With that much violence in Taliesin’s blood she would have persecuted the man, raised arms and tried to convince Cercatori d’Arte to banish him too or he would do the same ghastly acts that his father and his son had committed. It would only be a matter of time before Lucifer’s son snapped, just like Liam… Luckily, for now, she was blissfully unaware of Taliesin’s parentage.

Orin had been there, as had much of the pack. They had all heard Taliesin’s mournful cry and come to answer like the tight knit family they were. She arrived just moments after the murder, first on the scene after Tammy’s adoptive parents, and she had seen the bits of the little girl scattered on the ground. The blood, the gore, the scraps of meat that had been ripped away from the child’s body during her violent death. She had witnessed the look on Sky’s face when she had seen what the monster had done, she had seen the grief in Taliesin’s eyes as he lost not one, but two children. How could this happen again? Cercatori should have been safe. This never should have happened to Demetrius… never to Tammy…

The woman worked to hold it together in the days following the tragedy. She needed to be strong for Sky’s sake… for her pack’s sake. But she was still unhealed from her own experiences, and the more she tried to harden herself and keep her cool the less she was able to hold it together. For months Orin pretended she was just okay. No one really saw that she wasn’t. How could they have expected her to be okay? Of course, she never told anyone what else had happened to her. Not even Shawchert knew about Lucifer… about what she let him do to protect her puppies. To keep him from finding them…

“Aaaahhhh!!!” She screamed and clutched her hair in her fists, pulling at it as if she would rip it out. Just as the pain came to the breaking point she stopped, letting go and turning her eyes to the azure. She panted, knowing that she needed to calm down. She needed to get a grip. That’s why she had taken a trip away from Cercatori. Sure, Liam was out there somewhere… hopefully not in wait… but she didn’t care. She donned the leather armor that Mars had made for her, saddled the mare Spot, and made a quick stop by the Collins residence.

Skye,

I need to gather winter roses and gems to honor Tameri, I can’t find them in Cercatori. I believe I can locate them in Crimson Dreams. I am taking Spot with me, and I left instructions on how to care for Soraya the Cow tacked to her stable. I will only be gone for a couple days. I need to do this for Tameri, and for Sky.

-Orin

It was an acceptable excuse, she thought. Orin had not been very vociferous about her recent spirituality but no one missed the runes she carved and wore, or had tied around her daughter’s necks until they became old enough to decide for themselves whether they wanted them or not. She wanted to honor the dead and help Tameri’s spirit rest in peace.

…of course, that wasn’t really her only reason for choosing Crimson Dreams.

Now she stood at the borders of the Dreamers’ world. Her thoughts had been too erratic so she dismounted Spot and led her by the reigns hoping the activity would distract her from them. It didn’t. Now she stood, staring hopelessly at the fading evening’s sky. Visions of the killer flashed through her mind… Liam… Argul… Lucifer…

She shuddered, even though Orin was never prone to cold. Her fear and her grief zipped down her spine and left her chilled to the core. How could she ever get away from this. How could she ever get away…

Someone had probably heard her scream but she hoped she had been far enough out that they would know it wasn’t a Dreamer who had cried, and wouldn’t come running. She wished she hadn’t done it at all but she felt like she was losing control of her actions. Her eyes dropped to the ground for a minute, staring blankly at the snow, and then she lifted her head and let out a low howl. It sounded more like a wail than a howl, but hopefully the person she called would hear her… would come.

No matter how many times you told me to leave
Icy blue eyes suddenly opened. He took a deep breath and he found himself in bed, next to Krystalle, and their smaller, lupus formed children. The children had taken to their large bed, since the nights were getting colder, and the children did not have full fur coats yet because of their dog heritage. Mars did not mind the extra bodies in the bed, and he pretty much actually got used to the children laying with him and their mother. They were pretty much one big happy family now. God forbid if anything was to happen to the children or for that matter, Krystalle. She had given Mars so much support and love, and arguments, yes, but overall, she was teaching him a lesson. About being a father. He was trying to do the best he could do, and he was doing a good job so far, but something inside of him knew, something told the male right off the bat that there was to be some sort of destruction, because there was no such thing as order in Hurricane's eyes, and it had become apparent that Hurricane was starting to talk, and trying to actually suggest Mars to do things that were not supposed to be done. Things to hurt his family and his friends. He'd been trying his hardest to actually not do such things, and sometimes he would argue with Hurricane. Krystalle had yet to witness him arguing with Hurricane. It was something that Mars had not openly shared with the woman whom was documenting the actions and thoughts of the male with multiple personalities.

He took a deep breath and he had slowly gotten out of bed, undisturbing to his bedmates, whom just rolled over and groaned about someone moving off of the bed. He got up and got dressed in his skinny black jeans and his leather jacket. He still had been in the process of making himself a shirt to go under the jacket, but so far he had trouble finding the right fabric to finish the piece. The only recent thing he had been able to finish was fashioning some red, leather, and fingerless gloves that he was rather proud of. He also slipped these over his hands and he had then scribbled a note and put it on the counter to tell Krystalle that he wanted tea when he came back and that he was going to go out and hunt for them, as well as scout the borders a little bit for the 'sake of the pack' or whatever reason he was supposed to be scouting. Maybe he was trying to get some sort of recognition in the pack or something, who really knew. Mars did things for weird reasons.

Either way, he had gotten Vox, and he had mounted the steed, bare back, only with reigns over the beast's snout. His white guitar was slung over his back just in case he got bored doing what he was doing. He was not emotionally prepare for what was to come next on his journey, making his way away from his isolated home in Piccolo Village. He did was fairly close when there was a scream, and it alarmed him, and made his heels dig into the sides of Vox, making the stallion take off in the direction of the scream. Not only was it a scream though, it was a scream that was too familiar to him. Then, after he scream, there was a low howl calling for him, as if he was not already on his way. Vox's hooves thundered against the terrain as he galloped towards the call, and within a few minutes, the buckskin steed and the calico male had come in the view of the woman. She had her hood on, like she had last time, and she was with her steed. He pulled his steed to a stop, and he quickly dismounted. Are you okay? I heard you scream.. asked the male, rather coldly, not forgetting about their last meeting and what had happened then.

:: OOC ♥ OMG finally Nuki! ::

The drumming of hooves could be heard in the distance and Orin thought she knew who it was before she turned to look. Hopefully it was him, the man she had come to see, her friend. She didn’t want to worry about the other Dreamers or try to explain to them why she was here… again. She was starting to become a permanent fixture of intrusion around these parts. Well, luckily she rarely intruded, but she had been an uninvited visitor a few times lately.

An ear rustled beneath the furred cloak hood that warmed her head, and she turned toward the sound of the gallop. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw him, perched atop the majestic steed he called Vox. He had heard her, and despite leaving their last meeting in anger he still came to her today. She didn’t even realize that part of her thought he would deny her until she felt the relief of seeing him. He came to her with a speed that belied how upset he was with her, even if his voice was cold toward her. How powerful Vox’s hooves were as they beat upon the ground… or was that her heart?

When they reached her, mount and master, and trotted to a halt she closed in the extra space between them. A gust was created from all the movement and in the flurry the hood blew from her head, revealing her strange new hair color. It was dyed pink again… well, at least most of it was… from root to tip it faded from vibrant pink to the straw yellow it was before, the product of a day with her daughter.

How would she start? How would she explain what she was doing here today?

“Mars, it happened again,” her voice caught a snag in her throat and she swallowed awkwardly. “Someone’s been killed in Cercatori d’Arte again. Another… another…” Her vision went red as the bloodbath flashed before her eyes. First the brutal murder of Sky’s puppy, Tameri, and then the literal blood bath when Argul spilled her own son’s blood over her.

She couldn’t say any more. She looked up, searching for the light blue eyes of her bicolored friend. Would he be understanding? Would he care what kind of visions the slaughter brought back to her? His voice had been cold to her again… He had been angry with her the last time they met, and he was probably still angry with her over the news of her engagement. He had rushed off with little more goodbye than a curt telling off. Now she was coming to him for comfort, for help. Was it at all fair?

No matter how many nights that you lay wide awake to the sound of the poison rain

It was hard for Mars not to care about the woman, and he had come as fast as he would have come for any of his friends whom he heard over the course of a distance, screaming out, and then howling for him. If it had been Amon or Paz, then it definitely would have been faster. Orin was quick to close the gap between her and him and his steed, it made his eyes watch her the whole way that she made over. It was a quick movement that also blew her hood off of her head, reveiling her bright pink and yellow dyed hair. He cocked an ear at her, wondering when she decided to become "Orin Takekuro: The girl with the bright pink dreads" again. This time it was still different though. Now it was "Orin Takekuro: the woman with the pink and yellow hair". Either way it was exotic and different though. He liked it, but her urgency had caused him to not comment on it just yet. Vox nickered lightly and shifted his weight on his legs as he stood there. Mars gave the beast a pet on the neck, Mars understood the steed's concern, he was getting colder and Vox didn't want to be out here.

That brought up his next concern. He could not bring Orin back to his home in Piccolo, because then...He was not confident that Krystalle would be all kind to the woman. He actually had no doubt in his mind that the woman, a once happy girl- turned into angry spanish wife, would be welcoming to the distressed girl at all. Mars pulled his ears toward her when she had spoken though, her mind seeming only half there as she had spoken to him, but she got enough words out to tell him what had happened to where he could understand her frantic-state. Nothing showed on his face, for the male was not surprised that there was another murder, she didn't even need to tell him the word, it was obvious that it was murder that happened. It always was that in the Artists pack. Mars could not understand why the pack was cursed to harbor murderers along the masses. He actually scoffed and shook his head. So there was a reason that I left there. Again. I was right. he commented, crossing his arms over his chest. I'm surprised you ran to me before you ran to your.... he started to speak, trying to find the right word for her relationship with that retard, Shawchert. Uh...your....fiance. spoke the male, his shoulder hairs standing up at the thought of her marrying Shawchert. He said no more about that though, for he was tired of going up to the same hole and trying to help the woman out of it. She had already rejected his help before, now she was actively seeking it, in a different way now, and Mars was unsure on if he wanted to help her anymore.

The tri-colored male snorted again and looked away from those bright golden eyes of the woman. He sighed then, and he glanced around to see if there were any other curious Dreamers lingering around, and when he saw none, he looked back at the woman. "Get on your horse. We'll converse about this where it is more appropriate." he spoke, thinking of the Village of Piccolo and of a specific place where he had been housing his steed and his sheep where they could keep the horse and the cart and then speak privately. Krystalle would only go there when she was getting Senorita and it was a good walk from the house so it was not really all that great of a hiding place, but Mars did not suspect that Krystalle would be coming to get Senorita at any point in time today so he figured that would work. He guessed. If it had been a time where Krystalle was out on an adventure with one of the children, or both, then Mars would not have worried about it, but since it wasn't then he wasn't going to even chance having the two women get in a fight.

He turned his steed to face south, and he sucked in a deep breath. He didn't change though, he couldn't. He needed to be around, not Bartholomew, and definitely not Hurricane. Hurricane would fuck everything up now.

Orin Takekuro

There was little more than cold indifference from the man, but Orin was becoming used to this treatment. If this visit would be anything like Mars' visit to Cercatori d'Arte then he would warm up to her, in time. Part of Orin just passed it off as level headedness, though. When someone was in such a panic often it took someone else to just tell them what to do and handle the situation. At the very least, this is what Mars did.

She fretted little when he grumbled about her not running to Shawchert for help. “He was there when it happened. There were... circumstances.” She knew Mars wouldn't understand when she explained it to him so she didn't even try right now. Plus, the murder had happened days ago. There was no solace for her within the borders of d'Arte right now.

She turned and solemnly walked over to Spot. Taking the reigns in one hand and setting the other upon the saddle she pulled herself into the saddle with little effort. The motion was easy, fluid, and she was steadfast in the seat in seconds. Leading the horse around, she followed Mars into the land that she did not know.

As they came to the place Mars had in mind, Orin's gaze surveyed the area around them. There were buildings but she was quickly aware that this wasn't Mars's house. Still, the place was ripe with his scent, as well as that of his pets; Vox and Axel. Spot pranced to a halt at her direction and she pulled one leg around to meet the next, sliding smoothly from the saddle.

“Where do you want me to leave Spot?” She asked, but just then was interrupted by what she considered a jubilant baa. Her eyes widened and for a moment she forgot all her grief as she lifted her gaze to see the shadowy sheep staring at her.

“Axel!” She cried happily. Seeing the old bugger was like a blast from the past, and she abandoned the mare to run over to the sheep. Her white fingers slid into his dark fur and gave him a good scratch and pet by the ears before she gave him a hug. Looking at his dark eyes she remembered the time when she first met Bartholomew; Axel had tried to follow Bart into her bookstore, but she wouldn't let him in, so the poor bloke just stared at them longingly from the window. “I've missed you little guy.”

My lungs they start to ache, but still we carry on.

Oh, so this time Shawchert was actually there, on the scene, probably just making things worse rather than actually making things better. Mars did not know the whole story, just things his brain was making up at the moment, assuming the worst possible thing every time he was told more about this. He did not speak to the woman though he did not let her know what he was thinking, but the colder expression that fell over his face would tell a million stories to one whom knew the male enough for them to be able to follow his mindset. The woman seemed sad as she turned towards her steed and she had walked it instead of rode. It made the travel slightly more awkward, if only because those whom would see them would be confused as to why they were one mounted and one not. Mars did not care for onlookers though, he paced himself to lead the woman, and they were silent as they moved through the lands, the crunch of snow beneath the feet of the animals were the only sound filling the air. Mars was as quiet as his title had suggested, there were no words until they had reached their destination and they were behind closed doors. The building was pretty unorganized, and the animals that lived in there were free to roam wherever they wanted, which was gratefully only on the first floor. Mars had a conspiracy that Axel was too stupid to learn to climb stairs and Vox was too fat. Senorita was also too big for it.

Mars had gotten from his mount and he led the beast into the warmer building and then he turned to Orin. He motioned his hands to signal that she could just let spot run freely in the area. The woman was then distracts by the black ram, whom had come to greet her fondly. Axel had warmed up to the woman over the meetings she had had with the ram, and so he gratefully took her pets and hugs as a sign of affection and he nibbled lightly on her loose hairs to return the favor the only way he knew how to. Well you know, besides humping, and that was something that nobody wanted to see. Mars did not remember that Bartholomew had met Axel, and that was the first time that Orin and Axel met Bartholomew, and nor did Mars realize that Orin met Bartholomew. It was something that they had not spoken about. He had never brought the issue up, mostly because he assumed she had not met him since she had never said anything about it to him. Mars was not aware that Orin knew more than he thought she did. He thought she was still living in blissful ignorance about what Mars was exactly. I'm sure he missed you too. spoke the male, his glasses taken from his face and shoved in his pockets and then he crossed his arms over his broad chest and shifted his weight onto his left hip, which gave him a weird, almost feminine look to the way he was standing. One mismatched ear had bent back and the other was pointed towards her. He cleared his throat and then looked from the vibrant hair of the woman to where there were chairs, long abandoned and used occasionally by Mars when he had to do things in here.

He moved to the chairs and then he looked back to Orin and offered her a chair with a wave of his hand. Here, sit there. Tell me what happened. Was there a specific reason you sought out myself? No one in CDA to console you? asked Mars Russo, his head cocking lightly as he pulled both of his triangular ears towards her, to listen to the story she had to tell him. He grabbed his guitar from the ground where he had set it for a moment and he had put it on his lap. He did not play anything yet though, but maybe he would during the duration of her story or something.

:: OOC FYI, it doesn't hinder the post really but Orin did ride Spot. She climbed back into the saddle before they went. Smile ::

Animals were mulling all about inside the building, and Orin quickly realized that there wasn't one particular place she needed to tether Spot, rather she could just let the mare roam with the others though it did begin to make for cramped quarters. Luckily the mare was tired from the journey and was content to move into the corner and stand hipshot and half awake.

She scratched at Axel's ears for a moment before Mars caught her attention again, and turned honey smooth eyes to the man when he spoke. She stood up, though the black sheep wasn't very happy about losing her affection and butted against her hand. She paid him no mind, knowing that if she caved he would never stop. Or wait, was it that he would never stop until she caved? Whatever. She did as Mars asked... no, told... and moved over to the chair. With all the bodies inside now it was getting warm for the Tundra woman, so a quick few flicks of the fingertips unfastened her pink cloak and a moment later it was draped over the chair, and then she sat. Now she was back down at Axel's level, and found herself nose-to-nose with the pushy pet.

“Hey,” she said, feigning annoyance even as she reached out to pet him again. He began nosing at something behind her but she didn't notice as he started to sample a taste of the fine delicacy that was her coat.

She took a deep, shaky breath as she prepared to recount her story. Where to begin? What could she even bare to voice? Her vision went fuzzy as she focused on nothing in particular, though her gaze was still generally pointed at Mars. She was lost in memory for a moment, but when he reached for the guitar her eyes flicked and it brought her back from her reverie. She watched his fingers that were so near the strings, but he didn't play any notes yet. She liked the potential, the promised that loomed as he held the instrument.

“It was one of the pack members this time. The son of... well, of the man Sky Katruk is now married to. His name is Taliesin. He had a son named Liam, and Taliesin and Sky had adopted a child they found. Her name was Tameri. I didn't know the puppy well...” she trailed off for a moment. “No one expected it – who could have? They lived together, they were siblings, and she must have been following him and he just caught her before anybody could have thought to do anything. No one witnessed it, but Taliesin was the first one there just after. He still had... still had her limb in his hands when Tal got there. Then there was Sky, and then me, and then everybody else.

“We all wanted him dead. It happened so fast and he was covered in her blood, and her body was in pieces! I kept telling them that they had to kill the murderer. But Taliesin begged for his life... and... they let him go. Tal wanted his 'son' to live – I don't know how he can even think of him as his son anymore – and pleaded with Skye in front of all of us. Shawchert was about to kill him him Skye ordered him off. He was banish. Just banished. Killed a baby and just got a 'don't come back here again.'”

She was staring past Mars now, at a knot in the wall. She slowly moved her head side to side as if to shake it, but the movement was languid. “I couldn't be in d'Arte right now. They're my family but no one could help me right now. Not when they're all walking around... pretending this didn't happen. Picking and choosing words like they all want to dance around it. Everyone walks on eggshells, afraid to dredge up the memory that everyone is already thinking about anyway. I just...” she sighed. She knew what Mars was really asking with that question, but she didn't know how to say it outright. Until she just did. “No, Mars. There's no one in d'Arte to console me.”

Run away, Run away, I'll attack

It was interesting for Axel and Orin to interact, for he had never seen the ram so excited to see anyone, besides maybe himself or Krystalle, but not even the children were able to get the affection that the woman was getting. He wondered if Orin had spent more time with the ram than he knew of, and this had been very true, in a way, because the first time Orin had met Bartholomew, it was because Bartholomew was trying to get away from the pushy ram that had followed him to Orin's home that day. Bartholomew had not revealed this fact to him, and so he did not know about Orin and Axel's relationship really. It was interesting to watch the two though, and he did so with a small grin that would form slowly on his lips. Soon though, the woman took a seat, like he had told her to. He watched her, and he accidentally let his finger strum against a string, but he was quick to silence the chime of the guitar by putting his hand over the strings that were on the bridge of the guitar. He then relaxed as much as he could and he leaned in and listened to what the woman had to tell him. The business of Cercatori d'Arte, even if he did not want to know the business of the pack, now that Orin knew that Mars was only so far away, and she could ride her horse to him, there was little reason for her not to come and visit more often then he would have liked perhaps. This was a lie though, because there was part of him that just wanted her, all of her, all the time. He secretly liked the attention she was giving to him.

She started to tell him what was happening, and the male listened closely to her words. He remembered Sky Katruk, and how he wanted to tear her vocal chords from her throat because of the fact that the stupid bitch thought that she owned Cercatori D'Arte because Shawchert was trying to court her. Obviously, because of Shawchert's disappearance, Sky had dumped him, what a big surprise. Mars learned this fact when Orin and Mars had last met up, when Mars had given the woman the leather clad armor. She also talked about a male that was named Taliesin. The name was familiar in a way, but he could not place the memory to a time. Little did he know, but Bartholomew had fornicated with the male, and Bartholomew also knew of the male's son, Liam. Mars did not say anything, because he was trying to think of how he knew these names, but he just could not place it, at all really. Bartholomew was in the shadows, chuckling softly at how Mars was trying to figure out where the names were from, and trying to match names to faces. Mars ignored the laughing in the back of his head and tuned back into the story, hoping he didn't really miss anything. He didn't, and the woman was also talking about how the married couple adopted a child, and then how nobody could have expected it, and how no one witnessed it. She spoke of how everyone soon showed up, the boy's father first, then Sky, and then Orin, then whoever else was there. More than likely Skye Collins, and as Orin went on to speak, Shawchert (what a big fucking surprise) was actually present, but of course, late to the scene.

Mars still did not speak. She spoke about how the pack wanted to kill Liam, but Skye banished him instead. Skye should have ended his life. A life for a life, but apparently, Cercatori did not believe in such values. They also liked to attract the puppy murderers. Mars snorted. So there was good reason for him and his family to have left, for Mars was sure that either Paz, or Amon would have been killed by now. Mars shook his head lightly and he looked down at his guitar. He place a chord that was one of sorrow, of hidden anger. He continued the melody as if he knew a song to match this, and he barely even looked down at the guitar as his fingers danced along, a simple glance here and there, and then he looked back up at Orin as she continued to speak. She could not be in the pack right now, but there was no one to help her. She thought they were pretending that this never happened. It was the same when Shawchert's and Orin's son had died. Everyone tried to pretend it didn't happen, including Shawchert, whom did little to nothing to try and find Orin after it all happened. They didn't even find the murderer for a very long time. It should not have taken them so long to find the murderer of the child since the murderer was living in their midst. Mars' mismatched ears fell on his head and he shook his head again. She finally finished when she spoke of how there was no one in Cercatori to console her. He understood this, because if something was to happen to Krystalle and his family here, he, himself would have no one else to go to, because in all reality, Crimson Dreams was only a little bit better than Cercatori. If not better, than slightly worse.

Mars returned her sigh with one of his own. He played his guitar before he had gotten the urge to smoke. He dug into his jacket pocket and pulled out a cigarette case and opened it, and pulled one out, and then snapped the case shut. He did not know if the woman smoked, so he did not offer her one, to not offend her by assuming that she did smoke. "That sounds similar to what happened with your son. Except for the fact that Shawchert was actually there this time." He spoke, slightly muffled because of the cigarette that was now in his lips. He took his lighter from the pocket that he returned his case to and he lit the end of the cancer stick and pulled from it. He blew the smoke away from the woman and the other animals, into a stale corner where there was a broken window, in which the smoke eventually filtered out through. He took the lit cigarette from his maw and he looked up at the woman again. "There's not much that I can say, Orin. The only thing I can assure you is that if I see this Liam, then I will make sure his deeds will not go unpunished. I don't particularly like Sky, and I don't really know Tal, but I'll do it so you can sleep better at night, knowing that there will not be a murderer climbing into your window....I won't be like Shaw, and just let you fend for yourself either. If you need to stay out of the pack for awhile, then you are welcome into my home with my family. We have an extra room since Paz and Amon like to sleep in the same room..." spoke the male as he lifted the cigarette to his maw and he took another puff from it. "If you really cannot handle Cercatori D'Arte anymore, then you could always join Crimson Dreams, or I can take you back to Cour Des Miracles, if you would like." spoke the male, his icy blue eyes on her as he took another drag from his cigarette and he looked at the mischievous Axel. "I like what you have done to your hair, by the way. It's very beautiful." he spoke to her. "I miss the dreads though." he commented afterward though. He truly did miss her unique look, for this was when she was truly beautiful to him in every way. He missed it to tell you the truth.
