She was hungry and so he hunted for her, sought to fill her stomach with the flesh of his kills. The once boy now man was overwhelmed with the need to see her content and sated. But this day the prey was proving elusive to his giant secui form. The odd eyed male huffed low within the confines of his throat and pushed his head closer to the ground trying to catch any sign of their passing but was greeted with only the faintest whiff of their spoor. Teeth were bared quickly and he resumed his easy lope through the forest. As large as he was the dusty boy seemed to melt into the underbrush making hardly a sound to give away his passing. His injuries pained him but he ignored the messages he received, he would catch something even if it meant spilling his own blood.

His enthusiasm for the hunt was revived as a fresh scent came to his nose and he felt the rumble in his own stomach, the hunger for sustenance. His cold concentration gave way to partial confusion as the scent of another rolled over, there was someone else hidden within the cover tracking this particular animal. His eyes strained against the backdrop trying to pick out the one who eluded him. It was not one he had met before but there were so many he did not know that this could be applied to most of Casa's members.

His prey were quite far in front of him so he would not give away his position by attempting to talk to whoever this person was. Still, caution was best, Enzo woofed low in his throat, the sound didn't carry far and Enzo intended it not to, it was enough to reach whoever it was though.

Adelle had set off to try and catch prey like how she'd been shown by Dixie. The growing pup was always hungry, eating everything she could get her teeth into. Adelle certainly didn't need to hunt for herself with plenty of adults in the pack more than willing to feed her, and the small mice that she could catch weren't filling in the slightest. That didn't mean that her determination to catch her own prey wavered at all. She would prove herself worthy in every way, even catching prey.

With these thoughts of grandeur Adelle had wandered around. The trail of prey had been followed, only for the pup to find the scent of deer rendering her mouse trail completely useless for someone who just barely knew how to track. Circling around Adelle searched the ground the best she could, looking for the scent of the mouse she'd been tracking. A soft woof brought her back out. Retreating from where she'd been Adelle looked over at another member. He didn't appear overly large to her, growing up among giants. Her tail wagged and woofed back before trotting over.

His unknown pack mate turned out to be.... a child. He blinked slowly as he looked down upon the small creature and was momentary baffled by confusion over what the heck he was supposed to do now. He vaugely remembered this was the girl that had received Wayne for a mentor or something, he hadn't been paying much attention, focused on Juliet too much. She was a tiny thing he concluded, as the small doggish girl trotted over to him with a small bark of her own. His dusty tail gave a welcoming wave

He seemed to have interrupted her doing something, perhaps hunting the same animals he was although he found it hard to believe such a small pup was hunting the large animals.

The stranger's tail waved in greeting, only heightening Adelle's previous excitement. Adelle bounced around for a moment, tail wagging brightly as she showed how happy she was to meet him. Bowing down Adelle looked up at him as he dropped to the ground. At her height now Adelle took full advantage of this to come over and cover his face with slobbery licks. Satisfied that he was aware just how happy she was now Adelle stepped back, tail wagging as she waited for him to speak.

The poor pup had a bad grasp on english at the best of times, and the string of words that came out from this one seemed nothing like what she had ever heard before. Staring at him in surprise as he spoke what seemed to her a completely different language, Adelle whined in disappointment. She didn't understand. She didn't speak this strange new language that he did, had no way of knowing what he had said. What could she do? Unhappily Adelle laid down, looking up at him blankly.

The only person who had been this happy to see him recently had been Juliet. He chuckled as she leaped forwards, covering his face i slobbery kisses. He hadn't seen a child so small as her in all his life so she was an enigma to him, of course he had once been young and small himself but that was different. She brought a smile to his maw and he found much of his concerns slipping away, surely Juliet would understand and forgive his lateness because he was interacting with the young. He cursed his thick heavy accent when it became apparent she hadn't understood what he had said.

He brought his head down, placing it upon the grassy ground close to hers so he could look at her and spoke again, with a slow deliberate tone, trying to pronounce the words as clearly as he could, taking advice from the experiences of speaking with others,

"I. Teach. You. Hunt." It took more effort that he thought it would to erase the thee and tha's from his speech and he didn't think he could maintain it for very long unless he spoke with exaggerated slowness like he had just done.

The male was smiling down at her, clearly just as happy with her as she was with him, even if she didn't have a clue what was being said at all. Her wish to speak english grew stronger with each missed sentence, the pup quickly learning the words and doing her best to keep up with the conversations the adults held. The wolf's head lowered to the ground, speaking slower this time. She focused completely on his words, and this time it came out crystal clear.

Teach her to hunt? That would be wonderful! Adelle's tail wagged as she nodded her head. Backing up she stuck her nose back into the ground, following the large deer trail a little while before coming back. Track mouse. Mouse gone. That's what she'd been doing. It was simple enough that he should have been able to understand her. It was too bad he didn't speak english either, both of them trying to speak through a language they didn't fully grasp.

So sorry for being a derp and failing with this. Also I think Enzo's been smoking some pot XD

Obviously his offer of a lesson or two were well appreciated as her tail again shifted into overdrive and again the male felt a pronounced sense of pride in her, in her youth and her exuberance, the life the flowed through her. No matter where she had come from with her grandfather she was now of Casa di Cavalieri, one of their own. The next generation, even though he was a little young to be thinking about the generation that would come after him. It would be a long time yet before he would produce his own offspring, neither he nor Jules were ready for such a thing, in fact he wasn't even sure if she would want to go that far with him. It was an almost depressive thought so he pushed the feelings aside for the moment and focused on the pup.

While she snuffled her way back to the trail she was on, he hauled himself to his feet, and shook his body vigorously. Feeling better as his fur settled back into place. He padded forwards a few steps and lowered his head again, quieting his voice down too, they didn't want to scare off anything that was in earshot,

"Mouse too small. We hunt bigger animal. Adelle follow me." With that he moved past her and began to trot at a steady slow pace, sniffing at the air until he had found the main deer trail, looking back to make sure she was following he motioned with his head for her to come near,

"Strong scent, many deer, good hunting." He nodded hoping that she was understanding what he was saying.

OOC here!

The large wolf padded over, standing next to Adelle. She was dwarfed by his larger form, her young shape obvious next to the giant. His head bent low he looked at the path too, her tail wagging eagerly. This was what she could hunt and catch. She thought it was really good of her to be able to do that. Quiet words beat at her ears, carefully enunciated so that the pup could catch every word. Not hunt mice? But that was all she knew how to catch. Her brow furrowed, wondering what they'd do now.

Adelle fell behind the large wolf, curious to what he would show her. It must be something big. Adelle wondered if she could really catch something so big as she was constantly tripping over her own paws. She came beside him at the indication, glancing down curiously at what was pointed to her. It was a strong smell, familiar. Her mouth watered, glancing up at him. Deer? They were going to hunt deer? Adelle bounced around happily, a single bark slipping out before she remembered that she had to be quiet. How get deer?

The smell of the deer was a pungent heavy one that hung in the air almost under its own weight, the prominence of hair and musk and also excrement. There were a few piles of relatively fresh droppings nearby, small for such large animals. There were slots scattered about where the deers hooves has sunk into the mud and he sniffed at these too although this was only a habit, he could use the information gleaned from the scents to guess at their numbers. It was a small herd although they would all stand taller than he was in secui, apart from the foals or really small females, but he could still being them down.

She had questions, which was a good sign. He remembered fondly being young and so full of them, how this and that worked, why something did what it did, how things were made.

"We quiet, sneak close. We jump from hiding and chase." It was a rough explanation but he couldn't really go into more detail seeing as she seemed not to understand much, he knew that she was not from an english speaking part of the world.

OOC here!

Adelle moved along the large deer trail, snuffing everything with deep curiosity. She stuck her nose right into the pile of droppings, eagerly picking up everything she could for that. Females, males, young ones, and the feel of spring in the air. Her tail turned into a rapid rudder, looking around and wondering where the deer were. She bounded a short distance down the trail, wondering where the deer were. She came back to where he stood, sniffing around. Adelle didn't have a clue which direction the deer were from, the scent equally strong in one place as another to her.

Adelle sat down, meeting his eyes. She nodded briskly, absorbing what he said. Quiet. She could do that. She was the quietest creature around. Sneak close. Adelle did that with the mice! She could do that too. Adelle laughed at the last part, picturing how surprised they would be to see the predators so close. Adelle could chase too. She chased stuff all the time. She just didn't catch anything. Okay! Where deer? She looked around, waiting for them to pop up.

Are they actually going to catch something? Or should it be just a simple lesson.
338

He was about to warn her when she went ahead and stuck her nose into the deer droppings anyway. An amused grin flitted across his face, thinking that this may be another lesson for her, you didn't stick your nose into just everything because sometimes things bit back. He watched her with mild curiosity, letting her learn from the experience as she snuffled her way all around the area trying to work out which way the deer had gone. There were even subtler signs that showed the direction the deer had been traveling but that was a lesson for another time perhaps, today would be just the basics.

His hunter's eyes darted back and forth, noting clumps of fur caught on twigs and clinging to the bark of the trees where they had rubbed against the rough surfaces. Nibbled branches and saplings, some of which still oozed their lifeblood. The line of almost invisible destruction was stronger, fresher to his right as the trail snaked away into the underbrush and so it was to that direction that he turned.

"Now we hunt." Wolves were not usually solitary hunters but with the development of the virus that gave them hands and an upright form, more and more had come to rely on their own singular skill rather than that of the pack. Lorenzo however had come to favor his secui form when hunting, his faster and more easily his form, rather than his optime. Thick legs and large paws made almost no sound as they picked their way almost fussily through the forest,

"Keeping quiet. No stand on leaves." To demonstrate this he deliberately stood on a pile of leaves which rustled, sounding overly loud in the quietness. It was impossible to keep completely silent, the forest was like an maze of traps and tricks, always ready to produce an unwanted sound and give the game away but with caution and some degree of care, a stealthy hunter could hide his or her presence with some degree of effectiveness.

OOC here!

The words were simple, but it stirred a primal instinct in the pup. She held a mostly dog heritage, but there was wolf in her, and at the mention of the hunt it fell to the forefront. Her tail wagged softly, silence descending over her frame. She was still young, instincts developing. This was the time where she watched and learned, taking in everything she saw. The right guidance could make her into a powerful hunter, though if left alone Adelle would make mistakes with the instincts unable to guide her on their own.

Adelle followed behind the large wolf, tail wagging softly. She was careful to mimic every movement that he made, eager to do well. Her mind absorbed everything that happened, storing it so that she would know what to do later. Adelle wasn't aware of how much she was learning, stepping in his paw prints. She did see more than she thought, noting where was okay to step and where to avoid. Her ears flattened as he stepped on a bunch of leaves, crouching down quietly. She nodded her head, skirting around the noisy pile.

sorry, short post ;_;

From then on he said not a word to her or hardly even acknowledged her presence, she should be watching and learning from his demonstration, it was the only way to learn after all. Lorenzo didn't believe in learning from books but from true hard experience, the only way you found out that life was dangerous was when it grabbed you by the throat and dragged you for the ride. His dusty form melted into the undergrowth with an ease that some might consider unnerving, almost as though he were a ghost to disappear at will.

Bicolored curious eyes flickered from side to side and pierced the underbrush, sharp and intent they glittered like the jewels they mirrored. And yet he was acutely aware of the youngster following in his overly large paw prints. Her soft shallow breathing and the quiet whisper of her footsteps. The slight rustle of leaves. True silence would come with practice and experience.

OOC here!

Her tail wagged as silence reigned in the forest. Well, as much as it ever did. Noise always would happen. Birds fluttering through the trees, the crunch of the ground beneath one's paws. Adelle did her best to keep up, moving beside him and working on making sure that she did what he did. Her mouth dropped open as the wolf practically vanished in front of her. How was that done? She stared at the place for a moment before scurrying forward, following him into the undergrowth.

It was different under there. Harder to break through, her large frame straining through the space. As long as she followed right behind him Adelle was fine, but letting him get even a couple steps behind meant the path closing, leaving her to struggle after him, finding her own way. The deer were really close now, she was sure. Her tail wagged happily, waiting for the deer to come into range, eager to take them down.
