set whenever

Giselle was going to be okay without him there for a little while. A few days away would do them both some good, though it was mostly a business thing. He wanted to become a knight and without a trainer, he was going to have no skill at all. He had to head to Casa, for they were known for warriors, and for Jazper. His uncle, whom Silvano could only consider as such despite the parting between the woman keeping him related to the Sadiras. His cousins linked them together, but he knew Jazper would help train him, despite how busy he would be as a leader.

Heritage paused before Silvano did, and suddenly nipped out at the man's tail. The Sadira gave a painful yelp, glad no one would hear him. Heritage snorted at the man's back, and as the man turned, spat the wad of fur onto his stomach. The look on the creature face was more than enough to give Silvano a burning desire to smack the horse with a wad of wet cloth. Heritage gave an equine laugh, bobbing his head up and down at the man. Silvano gave the creature a withering look as he brushed off the wad of fur. "You behave, you monster," he said lowly, making the horse turn his head innocently. Put a woman before the equine and he would give her all the love he had. But Silvano had to work tooth and nail to keep the creature under control.

At the border, the Sadira howled out for the leader, deciding to skip the minutia dealing with other members of the pack. His hand was hard on the lead attached to the colt's bridle. Heritage pulled against his grip now and then, but seemed resigned. He was even a little smug about what he had done in the first place, if the glint in his eye was proof enough.

There was an extra skip in the leader’s walk as he made his way around the boarders. Though the summer had been particularly hot this year and his dark fur had quickly shed away to make up for the heat in early spring, he was happy. Casa was progressing better than he had hoped and although they had lost members it was nice to have a smaller close-knit bunch of canines. With Anann out of commission it was easier for him to manage the smaller group. And what was more they had an ally in the Artisans who shared a small amount of neutral territory between them. It made the Sole full of pride for his members that they had set up such a strong pack in less than a year. It all came so natural to him to lead and it left him the happiest he had been in years.

Making his rounds around the borders was an every day event for the Sole. Every now and then he would stop to re-mark a fading scent or scratch up a tree by the boarders to claim the land as his own. It was primarily his own scent that marked the boarders now that his co-leader had stepped down from stress. It saddened him that his dear friend was struggling but he needed to step up to the plate in the next few months while she needed him to be strong for the pack. A call from the boarders turned his head, his ears perked. It was a familiar call, but one of an older version of what he remembered. In his Halfling form he easily traveled quickly, unafraid of the noise he created sending the creatures of the forest away from him.

It was not long before he cam upon the younger male and his golden eyes immediately went to the young horse beside him. An unimpressed look replaced his large grin for a moment while he looked the beast up and down. Residing to ignore it he returned his bright eyes to the Marino boy he had watched grow from a pup. “Silvano! Il mio ragazzo! What brings you here?”"
The Italian sounded strange on his lips but when it came to the Marino’s he respected their language and culture. He had learned a good amount of the language while mated to Ghita. “You have grown a lot since I last saw you.” The scent of the younger male made it obvious to Jazper that he now resided with the members of the Court, not to far to the south.

Heritage seemed suddenly alert, making the Sadira man raise his nose to sniff at the wind. It seemed like someone was coming to greet them, and he could only smile at the memory of this same scent. But now it was different, without the presence of the Crimson Dreamers and without his aunt, too. It was certainly something that reminded him of the changes that had happened, but he was certainly glad to see his uncle again. Granted, he was no longer his uncle by the ties he once held with his aunt, Ghita, but that didn't stop him from being his uncle, did it? Hopefully the man would still see him as a nephew and not treat him like a stranger. Some were like that, and it would have made him sad with so many members of his family now gone.

Jazper approached, his form hulking. It was one that Silvano rarely used but knew of its capabilities. Somehow, it fit the Knight fairly well and the Sadira only smiled happily at the huge form coming toward him. Heritage fidgeted a bit, uncomfortable with the sight of a Secui shifted man, especially one unknown. The horse had never seen anyone in that state before, so it was clear he was not happy with the situation at hand. Silvano put a comforting hand on the growing stallion's neck, if only to cease the fidgets. Heritage snorted at the touch, but did not move away from his master's gentle hand. At least he knew they were not about to be eaten by something huge and bulky with enough muscle to rend them apart.

Beaming, the Sadira returned the man's greeting, "Ciao, Zio!" He knew it had been a while since they had seen each other, but he was happy to see that Jazper had not forgotten him. "Thank you, it was definitely a welcome change. Being small makes one feel a little too powerless." Heritage eyed the stranger carefully, though Silvano's easy talk quieted him a bit. "I"m living at the Court now, with Giselle." He suddenly looked a little guilty, though. He had thought about coming to Casa, but had settled on the Court for Giselle. "I would have come here, but.. you know Giselle isn't the kind of person to bring here." She was too delicate, and that was clear. "But, how are things here?" said the Sadira, changing his expression to one more positive.

It was strange to see Silvano knocking at his doorstep and the very sight of him brought joy to the large coal wolf, but it also brought back memories and regrets. Jazper had not left Crimson Dreams the way he wanted. If everything had gone the way he wished he would have created Casa with his mate by his side, and left a close friend near by. Instead his dreams of better protecting Crimson Dreams and his friends had ruined two of his closest relationships in his life. Ghita had left him camping in the rain and Savina had snapped at him and pushed him out even further. He adored the Marino family, it was the first family that cared his blood, but that was all in the past now. If he could do it all over again he would. Casa di Cavalieri had the strength of trained warriors but caution and care that come from many hearts of gold. “Why do you think I never shift fully down, huh?” He pointed out with a grin.

He readily ignored the horse and it’s need of attention. Although he didn’t care much for horses Vito had softened him up a little. A russle in the trees drew his attention up in time to see Alena, the barn owl who he had helped nurse to health, land. Her light brown eyes shifted from wolf to wolf. “Silvano, this is Alena. She tends to follow me around, keeps an eye on things. My friend Alyssum is trying to teach me to communicate with her but I’m no good.” He chuckled lightly. At his confession of his living arrangements the Knight nodded with a smile, “Of course, of course. The ladies here would not be good company for Giselle. They are all lovely but they know how to bite.”

He pondered over what to tell Silvano about Casa. Things were good, naturally, but he didn’t want to bore him with things like prey and the weather. “Wonderful.” He admitted finally. “Both Enzo and Tony are engaged. Enzo to a girl named Juliet Moonsong and Tony to a lady named Neela Garcia. We also recently hosted a Ball with the d’Arte pack, forming an alliance with them.” Adding as an after thought, “Aro’s gone a little nuts and has decided to keep a pet fawn. Something about killing it’s mother and it not fleeing or fighting against him.” The whole situation was very confusing to the leader. “Regardless I suppose whatever makes him happy makes me happy. How are you and your mate?”
