I know what they say about when people ass-u-me but I have gone and done a bit of that here. Let me know if anything is to anyone's disliking and it will gladly be changed. PGP + 5 Words - 500+

Traveling had been exhausting. His purpose for leaving the land had been to get a little time alone to think on all that was going on. Every soul needed it once in a while. That Amy had happened upon him with her flirtatious and dark ways was unfortunate. Jaden didn’t quite comprehend the monster he had once made love to and she continued fool him into thinking that she was only dark and not truly evil. She was dangerous to others for different reasons but the woman’s beautiful blond body had proven time and again its ability to override even his most sold ambitions. He was just glad he had escaped without anything else happening between the two of them that required hard washing on his part.

Now the sweet and cool morning air of Sangi’lak was all he could smell. The land seemed to welcome its leader into the cool and just awakening arms of beautiful flora and fauna. His steps were weighed down with the fatigue travel offered the two legged. Though his wound felt sold and healed, he had decided to wait until after the pack hunt to test his ability to shift. Better he waited too long than shift early and re-break all that had healed for the last month. So he had been considerably slowed down and suffered extra energy loss due to his less effective form.

It wasn’t long before the male found himself entering the wide mouth of Ton’Immerk though and he found great comfort in once again being surrounded by the smell of his fellow packmates. With how early it was though, not a single one seemed to be awake. This was one of the few times the Ex-assassin’s silent footsteps did him good. There was no choir in get past his sleeping brethren and into the far bowls of the crevice unnoticed. He glanced tiredly at the calmly falling water of the caves beautiful basin before ducking into the dully lit entrance of the Alpha’s chambers.

With a quiet sigh, for he didn’t wish to awaken his fellow leader should she still be sleeping, he undid the belts and straps of his uniform and bunched them into one paw. It was a bit more difficult to quiet the clicks of his nails on the cold black floor of their cozy lounge, but he did his best while approaching the room’s center. The fabric, fur, and hide that had been stripped from his person would have then been dropped to the floor had the large Obsidian form not suddenly frozen in mid-step. Had the smell of a stranger not posted an alarm in his mind he very well might have tripped right over the dark body laying the middle of the lounge’s floor. It was garbed in furs and looked quite cozy in his den while all he could see of it were a petite head and large, dark, coyote-like ears. Was this truly a dirty blooded canine trespassing in the Alpha’s chambers? Where had such a thing come from? How had it gotten past X’yrin’s watch? Surly she knew of his dislike for the creatures so how had it been permitted to sleep where it was? Jaden stood frozen with stripped equipment in hand and peering down with a furled brow at the little creature, trying desperately to understand.

The difference in the girl was surprising, if she were awake, but after eating and drinking she was feeling far stronger than she had when she first came to these borders. She had a ways to go before she was at full health though and even then she would never be the same. Her dreams were riddled with nightmares and her body twitched. But when she heard soft “tink,” of the belts her eyes flew open. The whole rescue was a dream! They were back for her and she was about to either get a beating or worse. Her breath became quick and scared and she kept absolutely still. She didn’t want another beating. But the sight of where she was reminded her that she was still in her savior’s cave while the men that had her lived outside. Stealing herself she moved as quickly as she could and strambled to get behind the woman that so far has helped her in so many ways.

“You can’t have me back, go away. You can’t have me back.”

X’yrin gave her bravery. The large woman would protect her she knew. The man, unknown to her was almost as tall as the others and as her mind was playing tricks on her again she could see it was one of the two that had gone out to hunt. They had no names but she would never forget their faces. He was back for her, she knew it. She started shaking at X’yrin frantically, if the woman did not wake she would surely, SURELY be taken again and the pain would be far more now that she had food in her belly and her thirst had been sated. She was far more aware and knew she could not go back or she would die.

  • She slept like the dead. Unmoving and silent. Little more than the soft whisper of breath would leave her flared nostrils as she slept, the only indication that the large collection of golden fur and autumn mane was truly alive. While the sense remained awake, her mind had long since drifted on into the dreaming realm, enjoying a fanciful memory of her time among her family. She would not whine with glee in her sleep or turn within her pile of furs as she danced in dream. She remained still upon her belly with head resting atop folded limbs.

Her ears did not so much as twitch when her companion returned from his trip. Though the sound was enough to awaken her new charge, the beast slept on, exhaling a long sigh in the midst of dream when words graced her ears. There was panic she believed was found in dream and pushed the would-be danger aside to continue wandering down the paths of her member. Then came the shaking, persistence and hard pulling the she-wolf from her unfinished dream. But it was such a nice dream…

Heavily weighed by the veils of sleep, she was very slow to react to the panicked shakes against her person. It was what her ears gathered that then jerked her to attention. Hastily, she scrambled to her feet tossing down the heavy pelts and setting her impressive form as a barrier between herself and the young jackal. Her eyes were still unseeing, but her nostrils were flared and ears tuned to the sounds of the chamber. She blinked several times to bring her eyes to focus but saw only one shape, one of familiar height coupled with an alluring scent as she gave an inquisitorial whiff. “Oh…Jaden. Good morning…” the woman sighed as the gathered panic abruptly ebbed and left her drained. For measure she glanced around the interior of the chamber making certain it was only hers and Jaden’s scents she noted, as well as the little being hiding behind her.

“Sira…” the woman sighed, fighting off the morning yawn she had been robbed of. “…you are not in danger.” Taking a rather sound seat in front of the girl for safe measure, she gestured with a lazily drawn paw to the male still standing shocked. “He is my fellow leader. This is Jaden, Sira… he is not here to hurt you.”

The dark male still stood dumbfounded with belongings in hand when the little body quivered with energy. He could tell that she had awakened by the sudden change in the rise and fall of furs that undoubtedly corresponded with her breathing. It was fear. Something Jaden knew how to read well from others for all that he had once caused. That she was scared proved that the little dirty blood understood that she was mistaken to find herself here. She knew she squatted in the Alpha’s Chambers.

Jaden might have then opened his maw and demanded reason from the little one he thought to be a coyote had she not then suddenly sprung out of bed and again turned his view of the situation upside-down. She was so frail in appearance as if the female had been starving for a long while. But not only that, she wasn’t’ a coyote at all. He had only met another jackal once but the sleekness to her body was impossible to further mistake as coyote. The little one rushed over to his beloved friend where she slept and shook her furiously. It seemed she had a hard time waking the woman, something he hadn’t tried to do as of yet. The golden body then snapped to attention to defend the much smaller canine from a danger that the little one seemed to see in his frame.

Luckily for him, X’yrin realized who he was before making any decision to attack in her just awakened confusion. She looked to calm the jackal instead. He words were that of a protector and Jaden felt he understood what was going on then. His friend was looking after little ‘Sira’. Good morning X’yrin, He said warmly. A little bit of his confusion showed in his voice too. He finally dropped his things with a sound thud before moving forward and leaning against the archway that led to her room. The space between him and the two females was keep far though, in case Sira still feared him. Who is our guest?

WC: 316 OOC: Much of what she is thinking is opinion! Don't take it personally <3 I still love you Tongue

X’yrin took too long to wake up but she was lucky the man was surprised by the large woman. Perhaps he wouldn’t take her now! X’yrin finally roused herself and she hid behind the bulk of the woman, a shield so to say in hopes the man would forget she was there. Shock was spread across the young woman’s face when her protector introduced her to another leader. This was a leader? Her head peered out from behind X’yrin not trusting this for a second. He was here for her, she knew it. He wanted to take her back. She saw it in the way he moved. Yet she let her guard down only slightly and her eye went to his things. They were things that the men sometimes wore but even she didn’t know what they were. Cain had wore clothes before, though she couldn’t remember half of what he taught her since she was taken. The thought of Cain caused a slight twitch in her.

    “Fish, fish, fish, fish...”

She shook her head though her eyes were on the man’s stuff. She had no intentions of stealing it. But she needed a focus because she could not look at him without seeing the bad wolves.

“He’ll take me away I know it... I don’t want to go back...”

She repeated, though she was calmer, she wasn’t sure how to take this. X’yrin treated him well. She did not run nor did he make her do anything... clean anything, at least not right away. It must be a ploy of some kind. She eyed the stuff though snuck a glance at the man before moving her head down to it again. She stayed exactly where she was. Behind the woman who had saved her life and undoubtedly would save her life from this man as well.

Eventually introducing the young Sira would come into play, but this was not the introduction the female envisioned. More a gradual acclimation to the pack, starting with a member at a time when they were more awake and able to deal with these delicate circumstances. But this was too rushed, and much too soon that even the calmed face of the Issor skewed uncomfortably. She knew Jaden would bring no harm to the young one, but still she worried; would he be upset with her for again taking matters into her own paws without his consult?

The quiet ramblings of the young jackal was a blessed distraction before she worried herself silly. Odd that she would be muttering about fish when there were none visible to speak of. She turned to the girl with an inquiring expression, then again felt her prior concerns melt away upon looking at her frightened face. Again her fears of being taken became apparent, and again she made to protect the girl from her unnecessary fear.

"He will not take you away, Sira," with hushed tones, X'yrin sought to soothe the girl. Carefully she lowered her muzzle to be level with the girl's smaller own. "He is my dearest friend and will bring no harm to you, I promise. You will not have to go back to 'them'. You are safe here...."

    *IS HORRIBLY OFFENDED* PGP + 2 Words - 200+

Fish? What an odd thing for the little one to say. After a moment of standing a ways off and not being acknowledged, Jaden decided to try and approach. He continued to watch Sira with nothing but curious eyes and wonder. It seemed she wasn’t all there in a sense. The way she spoke, the way she cowered. Something terrible must have happened to the girl. He couldn’t imagine what but he was given hints by their conversation.

Seeing X’yrin shielding the smaller canine ignited fond memories from during their time in the remains of Ichika. The two pups she cared for were now gone but that is what the scene was like; the golden woman towering over her pup and trying desperately to comfort the little thing. It was warmly endearing to see the one he loved being so tender and caring. He probably would have hugged her if not for his slow approach. The tall, dark, and gentle optime moved toward the two until he was only a foot or two away. I won’t hurt you Sira, he said in a comforting voice while dropping to his knees. There he sat in the soft sandy chamber and looked to his friend. Is she okay?

She looked at X’yrin who bent down and reassured her. The tone in her voice gave Sira a warm feeling and she finally looked at the man. Instead he wasn’t where he had been. He was now much closer and she nearly jumped out of her skin. Putting on a brave face, knowing X’yrin would get her out of any trouble she slowly crawled through the furs that had been thrown in the woman’s attempt to get up. Her large ears perked at any sign of danger, and she was ready to bolt. She had plenty of food and water the last few days that she could run far. Yet she knew it would be behind X’yrin she would be the safest.

She closed the gap and looked the man straight in the eye. Fear was lashing out inside her. The desire to run. The warnings that she was going to be hit, or killed or worse was in the back of her mind. Standing up she touched his arm for a quick second. As though she never saw a creature quite like him. Yet she had seen many and felt many and she was disappointed that he felt much like them. Furred and muscular, except for the fat one.... the one she’d taken down. He was always the watch because he made too much noise hunting.

“If you aren’t taking me away... why are you here huh? What do you want?”

She looked him up and down and then suddenly before her composure was lost jumped back closer to the woman that was her protector..

“You don’t hit? You … you don’t... you don’t touch?”

Her heart beat faster as she saw the devil eyes in the back of the tent and she scampered behind X’yrin.

    “THey are watching.”

She whispered. Her eyes set to the back of the sleeping quarters where the eyes stared, warning her if she continued he would stop lurking and just take her. If she said anything she would be taken for good.

It was becoming more apparent this assimilating the young jackal into the Family would be a slow, patient process by this encounter with her fellow leader around. Though the act was a true test of patience, she simply offered a gentle smile to her young charge whilst lapping her lightly across her slender maw.

She glanced kindly to her companion, glad for his attempts to make himself look as docile as possible around the frightened girl. Surely it was a stretch for him as well, given that he did not know the extent of what had transpired before this instance, or the conditions that led to young Sira's reactions toward him. She could only look to him with pleading eyes to bear with her and be understanding of this status now forced upon him; a joint caretaker to a girl he did not know. To his question, she silently shook her head the gaze her attention again to the meek creature.

"He is a warrior, Sira," she gently explained, seeing no reason to cover the truth for the girl. "As am I. He is very strong, but he will not bring any harm to you... nor shall I. Our strength is used to defend..." She could only hope her words would somehow filter into the scattered mind. It seemed to be distracted by things the woman could not see, and feared there was more than the ramblings on the surface that resided within this girl. She had ignored it at first, believing it was a symptom of shock that scrambled her mind. But it continued to linger... Was the damage done to her truly this deep..? "None are watching, young one..." oh, how she tried to make the girl understand. Again she lowered her muzzle to the youth's crown as if her words would bypass the detour through air and slip directly into the receiving mind. "There are only us three... You, Myself, and Jaden."

    *Feels a little better* =) PGP + 5 Words - 500+

Jaden always became nervous around children. He wasn’t sure what about them made him so uncomfortable. Looking down on their frail bodies and persuadable minds always had the male wondering if what he did was proper and right to set an example for them. He also always felt that saying the wrong thing or doing something they found upsetting or even terrifying might have the little ones cowering in fear or breaking down at his paws. He didn’t know what they feared and had no idea how to handle an upset little one. Maybe it was the fact that, while she was little in comparison to the two large tundra wolves standing by her, Sira was in most senses a fully mature adult jackal which allowed Jaden to have more confidence in himself.

The optime didn’t move while she approached him for fear that any movement would have the scared canine into hysterics. He let her analyze him and took in what she had to say for all it might be worth but not before casting X’yrin a cautious glance to make sure he wasn’t doing anything wrong. She spoke and he opened his mouth to answer, but stayed quiet as she jumped back. So she had been abused. Her word’s explained it by the question she posed. A deep sadness settled in Jaden’s gut for the implications her words held. Had she truly never met a male who hadn’t hurt her? Was it so common in this world for the masculine members of the canine species to take advantage of females who couldn’t defend themselves, to “touch” them? The thought had him disappointed and slightly angry, all of which he showed only through a slight pursing of his lips. The frail little body posed more questions but he had the sense they were more the words of a confused mind than something he need answer for. Then she hid behind X’yrin before showing fear for something that was watching her from in the cave with them. Jaden turned and looked over his shoulder despite not hearing or smelling anything. The jackal’s fear was genuine enough to have him doubting his own senses. His beloved spoke to the little one with more motherly words to comfort her as the male turned his attention back to them.

Gently, he folded his legs and sat on the soft floor. I won’t hurt you Sira, he repeated, I promise. And there is no one else here with us. If there were, I would fight them off. I will protect you, he was playing off the words of X’yrin, hoping Sira trusted her enough to believe him, You are safe here… Is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable? The Alpha was tired and he wanted badly to catch up with some sleep and socialize with his fellow leader a little, but he could see that Sira needed him. It appeared X’yrin had gone out of her way to care for her and he would help all he could.

Sira was still shaky, but the words exchanged by the larger wolves were kind, considerate, helpful.... helpful. She closed her eyes feeling she didn’t deserve this that she didn’t deserve to even be in this cave. She didn’t deserve such kindness. She was a bad Jackal, she had run away from her mother and then ran away from those men. She had hurt one badly. Death she had little to no experience with but she knew he lay unmoving and that she had a chance to get away. She swallowed as X’yrin explain she and he were warriors. She tilted her head slightly confused.

    “W’what’s a warrior?”

Yes she totally ignored Jaden’s offer to make her feel more comfortable, but that was mostly because she didn’t know what would. There had been very few luxuries in her life and she didn’t even remember one of them. The months of abuse made her forget most of what she had learned after leaving her mothers. She still looked around, though the eyes disappeared she knew they were there. Jaden and X’yrin couldn’t see or smell them because they didn’t want to be. That was obvious. Sira would just have to convince them later, just in case. For now she was safe as long as she didn’t tell them about the wolves.

Of all the topics for the young one to inquire on, she would ask of the one profession that related arguably to those who had harmed her. Though they were not honored no revered in their actions, they shared the same methods in their skill. The use of weapons be them tools of their own claws and fangs. They utilized harnessed strength to cause damage, or in the Nomad’s case defend. How to define the differences to a mind still frazzled would prove quite difficult. Perhaps it was better left untouched for now… but doing so would only hint there was something to hide. It surely was not the case, but could a bothered mind tell the difference? Helplessly, the she-wolf looked to her partner, sharing with him a weary smile before braving her attempt.

“Warriors are ones that use their strength to attack or defend others,” carefully, she tried to explain. “Their skills vary based on what they can do by the most effective means. They are often very strong, like Jaden and myself… but a true warrior follows a code either set by themselves or a group or family they are a part of.” She gestured with a paw toward herself then her dark companion. “Jaden and I are not warriors that seek to harm others, but we are ones that will defend our loved ones at all costs.” Looking to the young female, she smiled, again lowering her muzzle to be level with hers. “We are protectors, Sira. Of the other kinds of warriors in this world, this is what we are…and you needn’t ever be fearful that harm will come to you.”

How long had the little jackal been in seclusion from the world? Sira didn’t speak like an uneducated slave, so she must have been taught something at some point. She didn’t understand the word but he felt she knew what a warrior was even if she knew the worst of them. He stayed quiet for he was still unsure how to or even if he should speak to their guest. That she ignored his offer to make her more comfortable only made him less sure of himself. Jaden just listened while X’yrin comforted the little one and decided to add if he could but really couldn’t. As usual, the golden woman spoke excellently. Even though he understood what they were and where their values stood the male felt a little warmed by her words.

Jaden pulled himself a bit closer. He found a place on the opposite side of his friend as Sira and affectionately ran a hand down her back. The golden fur was soft and warm. We are a family, He said with a gentle smile, we protect our pack and we will protect you. You have nothing to fear. This would be his last try. If the little one still chose to be sheepish towards him, he would just go find his own part of the den to rest.

She listened with rapt attention as her savior spoke and explained what a warrior was. Her tail was starting to untuck and move slow, though it was still flat and close to her leg. She looked from X’yrin to Jaden and back, then stopped at Jaden.

“You protect too? You keep the bad ones away? The touchers and the hitters? You will fight them away?”

She asked, but then a small form of an idea came to her, but it was so absurd that she had to shrug it off. The idea that she could be a warrior was a laugh in her tiny brain that was swiveling with thoughts of her being useless and nothing better than a pillow for their feet. She had lived through stuff like that with her mother her whole life so she just accepted it.

    “Wish I were useful.”

She bent her head down, not thinking of elaborating. Surely they knew she was, after all she could barely walk, and she was only slightly aware of her mental stability... which meant “Dumber than bricks” to her. She was a nobody that was for sure. Her eyes dart around looking for those who were hidden in the walls just in case they thought she was saying and thinking too much but there was nothing and she took a step away from X’yrin’s bed again but not getting too close to Jaden. He did look tired though she thought little of it, just a side note she would think about for later but it was nothing to her in the present time.

    ooc: SUPPA SHORT!

Understanding had been achieved, at least as far as her tired mind could tell. The fatigue of having her little charge see her fellow Alpha was no threat was taking its toll on her in the early hours of the morning. But she was glad for how this little meeting transpired and left her companion to speak with truth to Sira.

Warm furs were calling her once again, the memory of her Shepard and brother and their Exultare brethren were beckoning for her to return and complete the fond recitation of the past. "He will be kind to you Sira," the she-wolf's jaws split wide with an overwhelming yawn, then snapped shut with an audible clamp. Sluggishly, she slicked over to her bedding though kept her eyes focused on the pair until her lids became heavy again.

"I promise no harm will come to you."

Jaden is sorry for how craptastically late this is. -begs for forgiveness- D: PGP + 2 Words - 200+

Jaden watched with ever cautious eyes the movements of little Sira. She seemed to relax a little with what looked like some understanding in her small eyes. He nodded earnestly to her words, not knowing of anything more he could say without repeating himself again. The little one’s condition was always noticeable though with her fidgeting and darting gaze. It made him discard her mutterings about usefulness. What could be expected from one so small and wounded?

Attention was then brought to X’yrin with a fine display of her sharp teeth. Of course the morning hours would affect exhaustion on her. He had woken her up. And, now that Sira was no longer cowering in fear of Jaden, she saw fit to find her place once more and rest. Jaden watched her go with weary but soft eyes. They trailed over his Alphess’ dragging mane and were reminded as always of the beauty there in. Even if he did find them a bit ridiculous, the long locks were gorgeous on her golden fur.

I’m sure you will find your place. But in the meantime rest. You’ll need your strength if you are to be part of the pack. He turned spoke softly to avoid startling his friend. Peering out of X’yrin’s portion of the den, he realized how welcoming the prospect of sleep really sounded. I’m going to sleep too. I’ll only be in the next chamber if you need anything. He looked for her eyes and tried to share a trusting glance with her, It was nice to meet you Sira. He would then stand slowly if she had nothing else to add or speak about and slowly find his way back to his own room.

Sira wanted to protest at X’yrin’s words, but it seemed she drifted off to sleep before she could even open her mouth to protest. It seemed that the man would make no move towards her though, and his words were soft and kind. He did move but it was to walk away and her mind thought of things to say, but nothing came out as she watched the man head for his own beds, and though things became quiet she found herself unable to sleep... how could she? A strange male so close, and he had jolted her from sleep, it would be impossible to now, but she does go back to where she slept before, and curled herself up, but kept her eyes locked where the man lay down though she could not see him. She moved just a little closer towards X’yrin and she too fell into a fretful sleep.
