I've just dated this forward a bit, till after he's arrived in Dahlia again.
For Colibri

//Emwe Soul

Emwe strolled along, in the sense that such a fat little pup can stroll at all, and his eyes were taking in everything around him. Ever since he had come back to Dahlia de Mai, he'd been allowed to be on his own, and he was still getting used to it. It was probably because he was such a big boy! He was, if one judged by the amount of puppy fat. Emwe's eyes looked around him with a width that no grown person could imagine themselves able to copy. Everything was so familiar! Everything smelt like he wanted it to, in a way, as if it was home. It had smelt o.k. in uncle Ly's cabin, too, even though he had been sleeping under the floorboards, but it had been different than this. This smelt like mommy and daddy! Where was daddy anyways? He had already seen mommy, but not daddy. Perhaps daddy was busy making sure mommy was ok, and that was why he wasn't in the cabin where he had found mommy. It was quite possible, and very logical. Yes, daddy must have been out getting food or other nice things. Actually, now that he thought about it, he was a little hungry. Halting, he plumped down on his bum and sat there for a little while, thinking. Now, what was he going to do about that? Perhaps mommy had some food? But he had gone so far now, on his grand adventure, he would most likely die before he ever reached mommy's place today. His hunger was so great, just like that! So hungry, and without anyone to help him. It wasn't so much fun to be alone after all, the boy concluded, before he wailed loudly and let himself fully down onto the ground. His bulky tummy - which was now oh so empty - was pressed against the ground along with all his limbs, and his ears and tail gave clear signal that the boy was not having a good time at all. Oh, if only daddy had been here! He was so brave and strong, he would fix everything, Emwe was certain. But he wasn't! No one was here! He was all alone, and his world was shattering with the growling pain in his tummy.

Hee hee, puppy... <3333

Coli padded aimlessly along the muddy ground, bright blue gaze studying the melting snows of the changing seasons. She was not one for winter; her precious plants could not survive the frigid ice of this climate. Perhaps further south, the winters would not be so harsh, but in this coastal territory, the winds from over the oceans were just too much. And like a fragile flower herself, the cold cut through her thin brown fur, causing her to hole up indoors and wait it out. Somehow little Willow didn't mind the snow; her beloved baby sister was sneaking outdoors daily, forcing Coli to go and look for the little girl. Today she was with Deuce, though, so Coli had some time to herself. The last time she had wandered like this, she had ended up in an embarrassing conversation with the golden-eyed psychologist, Sankor Koios. What an intense man! Coli shivered, remembering how ridiculously friendly he was compared to her. She might have come a little out of her shell, but she wasn't ready to deal with that!

A sweet southern wind wafted by, causing her to pause in her promenade and lift her muzzle to the air. On all fours, it was easier to track scents and revel in the aromas of nature. The introvert allowed a small, private smile to grace her lips, pleased to have confirmation that spring was overtaking the land. A plaintive wail broke her concentration, though, and the small-framed Lupus let her ear perk up in confusion. Was that Willow up ahead, crying for food? But that didn't sound like something the strong-willed girl would do. Normally she was too stubborn to cry for help of any sort, even when facing down an angry Svara or vengeful Firefly... Hoping she could be of help to the lost child, Coli trotted over the muddy ridge, nearly slipping several times in the deceptively deep puddles. Over there!

"Hey there, little man," she called softly as she approached the toddler, hoping to assuage his unhappy wails. She did not recognize the boy at first, or the smells clinging to his fuzzy puppy coat. It took her a moment to connect the dots, realizing just whose son this must be. It was one of her missing brothers, home at last! "You were brave to travel this far all by yourself! You must be starving, am I right?"

Oh the pain grew and grew every second he thought about it, he was going to die! He was going to die alone, where nobody knew, not even Conor! And Conor was the smartest of everyone, perhaps except daddy. Yes, if daddy was here he would save Emwe, he would bring him back to safety and food and mummy. And Conor, too! He was probably tired of being on an adventure now. You'd think so anyways, and when he came back Emwe would tell him such stories! Stories about the angry woman who took Emwe away from uncle Ly, and the other woman with all that white fur who was so bossy and all weird. And how he had found mommy, too! He was good, see, at tracking mommy. Tiny excitement trickled in over the little child as his mind spun from subject to subject. A loud growl (it sounds much louder when it's inside of you!) interrupted his thoughts, and soon he wailed again, pressing himself to the ground for comfort. Fantasy was no good when none of it came true, and he was still hungry.

As he lay there, a figure with brown pelt could be seen, and coming to him, too! It was daddy! It had to be, no one else had that fur! The tiny tail, which he was sitting on (or more like halfway lying on), started wagging, and wrestled itself to freedom from his bum, but by now the pup was standing up on his chubby legs, wagging, no more wailing. There would be food now, and mummy and Conor. It would be so amazing! Really he found no words to express his glee, but soon sat down again - he wasn't feeling so good as he normally did. The pup wanted to run in circles with all his excitement, but then again he didn't really feel like it. He was feeling quite sleepy, but not. Or maybe his legs were just sleepy. Any way they didn't seem to want to dance like his mind was doing, but his tail still worked furiously with sweeping the ground behind him. The pup was too close to the ground to recognize the female as a female - and he'd had no teaching on the subject anyways. When daddy spoke, though, Emwe frowned, uncertain. That didn't sound like daddy at all. Hm.. But maybe daddy had changed a little? Emwe had been on vacation for ever and ever! Yes, no one looked like that but daddy, he was certain. Still some of that excitement had left him now, and he looked up to the person, disregarding its words, with a frown on his face. Daddy?

If she had any doubts before about the boy's parents, those had vanished.
Coli winced at the pup's only response, a suspicious inquiry accompanied by a frown. His tail had been wriggling with a furious excitement before - now he was just confused. "Er, s-sorry to let you down, little one, but I'm a girl, and not your daddy, either." How to explain? It had been like this with Willow, too, except Willow had been with her mother and Coli knew how much she was allowed to tell. Her little brother... Oh, he was so cute, with the white on his muzzle and that bright curiosity shining in his eyes. Coli smiled despite herself, and leaned over him, snuffling his scent. He smelled of Firefly. Had she not fed him, or had the child simply wandered off from her cabin? She could lead him back, she supposed, as long as the fiery Sadira woman did not see her do it. Firefly was a terror to those on her bad side.

"Um... will you come with me? I'll get you food along the way. My name's Coli! What's yours?" She offered him a friendly, if shy, smile, hoping he would simply go along with her. She had heard the names Conor and Emwe many times during the uproar of their disappearance, but she did not know how to tell her brothers apart yet. This hungry toddler looked a lot like Haku, although not as much as she herself did. She never would learn what her mother looked like.

"You remember Alexey, right? The Caretaker who helps look after you two? I'm a friend of hers," she announced proudly, letting her cream-tipped tail wave behind her slim body. Maybe she was trying too hard, but she really wanted to be on good terms with her baby brother before even attempting to explain to him that his mommy wasn't the first woman that his daddy had started a family with.

tar det siste verset av en sang han ikke kan

The brown person who probably was his father seemed to think he was not, and proclaimed that he was a "girl". What was a girl? The little child had never been with girls, never met a girl, the only females he had been around was his mother, and an occasional visit by other people. He understood that mommy was a female, but no one else was, surely. And Conor and Emwe and daddy were apparently males, because they had things between their legs - daddy had said so once. Curious, Emwe looked between this person's legs, and saw that there was nothing. So ti wasn't daddy, then! She was right. After studying the area for a moment, the boy lifted his head to the face of the other and innocently gave in to his curiosity. What' a girl?

The Coli seemed to think that he was going to come with her, and although Emwe was very happy at the promise of food (his misery now halfway forgotten as there was stuff happening around him) he had been taught not to go off with strangers. This one looked like daddy, but that didn't mean it was daddy, apparently, and also perhaps that was exactly why he should go with the Coli. Sitting very still where he had been when the Coli came to him, Emwe maintained his frown as he looked at her, not really knowing what to do. She has asked him his name though, and that couldn't be bad, could it? I's Emwe. Mommy said not to go with peoples I doesn't know. It was childish honesty, and even though he was hungry he felt a strong need to make sure he did good things. And doing what mommy said was good, so he would do that. The child did not move.

When the Coli mentioned Alexey, the child's face changed to look as if it was made from wrinkles. Alexey was that angry woman who had just taken him from uncle Ly's place. She'd been so angry, and although she had been nice, too, the boy wished she hadn't been so angry. Uncle Ly was nice, and Emwe was fond of him - hence the title of uncle. He still did not understand why the warmly colored female had stolen him away from the comfortableness of the cabin. Thus, the boy did not exactly know what he thought about her, or her friends. Alexiii is angry. Is you angry too? Again a childish thing to do, but then again he was a child, and a young one at that. Sitting there, his tummy growled loudly, and he whimpered a little, but kept looking at the Coli. He wondered if the Coli was angry too.

If Coli's face could have turned any redder, it could be mistaken for a tomato. Now not only did she have to explain their heritage, but she would be responsible for a lecture on the sexes? How was she supposed to describe the differences between boys and girls without leading right into a discussion on mating, too? "Ahh... um... a g-girl is the opposite of a boy... Um... Your mommy is a girl, and your daddy is a boy... because boys like girls... Er, most of them do, anyway..." Oh, great, open that can of worms, too. She couldn't help that Laurent and Jasper had flashed into her mind at that very moment. Please don't tell your parents any of this stuff! she pleaded, cringing inwardly. She wasn't looking forward to another encounter with an angry Haku or Firefly, neither of which were terribly fond of her to begin with...

Emwe. Her little brother, Emwe. Coli couldn't help but smile happily at the youngster as he offered his name, although that smile fell as he refused to budge. "Well... th-that's very good, you're not supposed to go with any strangers. But, um, you know me now, right? So we're not strangers anymore!" She bit her lip, hoping the simple logic might fool the boy. Although if it did, maybe he wasn't so smart after all. Anyone with ill intentions could some up with some lame explanation like that to trick a pup. At least his Mommy did appear to be a good influence thus far, which was some weight off her chest. Coli worried too much.

"N-no, of course I'm not angry!" Coli quickly corrected, ears drooping as things seemed to spiral out of her control. Maybe she had underestimated his perceptiveness, or his intelligence, but... How had Emwe taken charge of the situation already? "And, um, I doubt Alexey was angry at you, Emwe. She was probably just worried about you. I'm sure she's glad that you're safe and sound now!" The self-conscious girl tried to smile disarmingly, but knew she was failing to gather his trust. It had been easier with Willow, it really had. Coli had so little experience with children, she still barely grasped their utmost faith in the adults around them. She didn't know how to act like a confident grown-up, so she settled for trying to lower herself to their level, to be a buddy instead of a parent. It meant that any smart kid could wrap her around their little finger, and they didn't take long to figure that out.

Looking at the girl (because she was one, she said!), Emwe maintained his blank face. Innocence shone from him as he looked openly at her face, listening to her words. He could be a very hyperactive child, Emwe Soul, but he knew that it was good to listen to what others said - so he did! He could run in circles later. Besides, he didn't feel like running in circles now, not when his tummy was eating him up from inside. The brown-colored woman spoke, with some broken words here and there, and Emwe did not understand. It was quite easy to see, in fact, from the face he put up. That is, nothing at all. He was as blank as before - and obviously had not understood. His mommy was nothing like this person! His mommy was the prettiest in the world - and this girl looked like daddy. Nothing she said made sense, but at least he knew one thing! If he said what he knew the Coli would probably think that he was very smart - mommy always said he was very smart! I's a boy because I has things between my legs. His face turned towards his crotch, and then towards hers. You don't, he concluded.

Suddenly she smiled, and instinctively the boy smiled back. Then she said a few things that were very smart. Very smart! She said they knew each other now, and it was sort of true, perhaps. He knew that she was the girl Coli, and she knew that he was a boy (because he had things between his legs!) and he was Emwe. So maybe he could go with her to get food? Food would be nice. Nodding, Emwe let his tongue out as he smiled, and squeaked happily in response. So smart! And she looked like daddy, too, it couldn't possibly be a bad thing! Getting up on his four legs, Emwe's tail wagged happily behind him. They could go get food now?

The girl was talking about Alexey, and Emwe threw her a face. What it said, the face, wasn't entirely clear from its composition, but in his mind Emwe had though "of course!" as in "of course she hadn't been angry at me!". Emwe was a smart boy! He knew these things. And Emwe hadn't done anything bad, because he never did, thus no one was ever angry with Emwe. Still she had taken him away from uncle Ly, and it had made him a little sad - wondering if he would ever see the husky mix again. He had told such good stories. Innocently, again, Emwe stated the obvious when Coli commented that he was now safe and sound. Uncle Ly was is very nice, I was safe there too! Using the best of his abilities, the boy defended his caretaker who already had a certain position in his heart. Not equal to his parents, but very close.

Amazingly, she managed to blush even deeper as Emwe gave his matter-of-fact biology lesson. Had he learned that by observation, or did someone actually teach him that way? Coli cringed with her ears back against her skull, shifting uncomfortably from paw to paw. At least she was on all fours; it would be even more embarrassing if he brought up "breasts". "Er... that's... um... one way to tell? But also, um, grown-up boys had deep voices, and are, um, bigger than girls, usually..." A more confident wolf would laugh it off, but Coli was terribly thrown-off by having a small child comment on her genitalia. It wasn't something she was keen on having on display.

Thankfully, her little brother accepted her explanation of their relationship, and trundled upright. She stepped slowly, making sure his chubby frame could follow her pace, and let her wet nose sample the air. Springtime meant all the wildlife in hibernation would be awakening; there would be a surplus of many smaller prey creatures, so it should be relatively easy to snag something for the hungry little boy. "Er, you know... there's another reason we're not strangers," she began slowly, glancing back at him with worried blue eyes. She hoped it would not upset the innocent, smiling, tail-wagging child. His crestfallen face would be too much for her...

No one had bothered to inform her the complete story of the Soul brothers' kidnapping, and since it seemed to upset everyone to bring it up, Colibri had opted not to ask. Now she found herself wondering what had really happened - Who was Uncle Ly? He must be another Sadira she had not met, she assured herself, once again unfamiliar with the ways of children. "Really? That's wonderful, then, that you were safe all along! What was your Uncle Ly like?"

His face was a weird mask as she gave her own explanation on the difference between boys and girls. Was his own explanation not good enough? None of the things made sense anyhow, so he shook it off with a smile thrown in her direction, and stared blankly ahead of him; his attention was ever-failing.

Besides the red face she had had - for unknown reasons - Emwe noticed how the Coli was acting stranger than others. Alexey didn't do things like she did, nor did mommy. And the white one, Cercelee - she hadn't done much other than poke him around and upset mommy. Of course, Cercelee had been in the right in reprimanding his mother, but the boy was oblivious to this fact; all he cared about was the fact that his mommy had been hurt. As they walked, the femme whose appearance was so close to his father's, the femme spoke words he did not completely understand, although somehow he recognized it as something he should feel inquired about. He had heard grown-ups talk, he liked listening to their fancy words, and sometimes they said "you know" when the person they were talking to didn't know, and they knew it. It seemed to the boy as some sort of a riddle, and this conclusion was given the female as the boy bounced a little with excitement (which quickly died when he realized he was hungry). Riddle! A grand smile was on his face as if knowing this word made him the smartest boy on the planet, and then the Coli received a little poke on her leg, just for fun. Emwe loved riddles!

Suddenly eager, because no one had wanted to know anything about uncle Ly, and Conor wasn't here, Emwe smiled and bounced a little again. Uncle Ly was so smart so smart, he was the smartest man on the planet, besides daddy - Emwe was certain. Oh! Uncle Ly is very nice, but living under his floor isn't! Of course, this message sounded a lot worse than it in reality had been, seeing as Emwe had had a snug and very comfortable sleeping place made for him there. The trouble was his fear of small spaces - sometimes it hadn't been so much fun to sleep there.

And I'm super-sorry too~! Sad

His little nose poked her excitedly, and she felt a flutter of joy uplifting her spirits. What an adorable child! She had been afraid that her brothers would harbor all the cruel habits of their insidious parents, but perhaps she was wrong all along, and being surrounded by good people would nurture the good in them. It made her hesitant to unveil a less-than-savory snippet of their past, but she couldn't hide it from the fluffy child if she wanted to remain in his life. "R-riddle! That's a good way to look at it. Why... why do you think I look like your daddy?" she chirped, keeping her tone as light as she could. She just prayed that it didn't piss Haku off to learn that his children kept drawing closer together, Colibri and Willow and now Emwe. It wasn't their fault; they all seemed to crave the attention and love he denied them.

"Under the fl-floor?!" Coli sputtered anxiously, her imagination running with the idea. Her brothers had been locked up in a dungeon? Just who was this sadistic uncle of theirs? "I thought you said he was nice, Emwe! That doesn't sound very safe to me..." Confused, the wolf slowly shook her head. She must be missing something here. Her ears pricked forward as she caught the sounds of scratching beneath the ground they tread upon, and her paws drew to a halt, frozen in place. Being small and unconfident made her not the best hunter when it came to larger creatures, but she had grown adept at snagging small prey such as rodents. If Emwe was as hungry as he claimed to be, it shouldn't matter what she caught for him. He appeared too chubby to be a picky eater. The slim wolf drew up on her hind legs, and then pounced, crushing the soft mole tunnel beneath her dainty paws. She then nosed through the soft loam until she found what she'd been looking for - a small lump of velvety fur, still warm to the touch. "For you! Have you ever tried a mole before?" She smiled shyly, cream-furred tail waving slowly behind her. Would her gift be received well?

Oh oh! Why does she look like daddy! Oh.. he didn't know. The boy had not yet figured out that children looked a little (or a lot!) like their parents, or that siblings looked alike. He had spotted that Conor looked a lot like Emwe, but that was just because he was Conor, and Conor looked that way? Oh, this riddle was hard, it made him sad when he couldn't find the answer right away. Sitting down a little bit, his tail stopped moving from pure concentration, and it was obvious from his face that he was thinking deeply. Nothing but a sad face was the result of all his hard brain-work, because he did not know, and he had failed yet again. Oh! Uh.. I's not know.. Maybe they are the same? The explanation was rubbish and his head told him that it was probably a lot more complicated than that. But maybe the Coli knew the answer! She was the one who had made the riddle, after all.

Why did nobody like uncle Ly? The Coli didn't seem to like him either, just because Emwe's bed had been under the floor. The boy was oblivious to how his phrasing didn't exactly create a good impression of the husky. Attempting to rectify Colibri's assumption that Lysander wasn't nice, Emwe stared defiantly into her face, but not in an upset way - just stubbornly. Is safe! I's just not like small places so much. Uncle put nice things to sleep on and stuff there, and me and Conor slept there together. It is nice when I's not alone. And uncle told stories! Nice stories... His mind trailed off into memories, because all in all, even if he had missed his parents, he had not hated his stay with the husky. He had a great trust in the male, and he hadn't enjoyed the leaving process he'd been forced through at all. Of course, when he got older he could perhaps see how neither his mother nor the husky hadn't behaved absolutely right, but it didn't change the fact that in the hierarchy of his heart, Alexey and Lysander were on a shared third place.

Suddenly the Coli did a lot of exciting stuff, and Emwe sat there and watched her with great eyes. He had never seen anyone hunt before, nor had he even thought about the process. At first he wondered why she was hitting the ground in such a weird way, and listening and stuff, but then magically she pulled out something which could be eaten! He didn't recognize it as a mole, which was the answer in itself - he'd never tried eating one. It looked tasty - anything looked tasty by now! Excited to see food and to have seen Colibri kill it, Emwe crawled together and pounced on the already dead thing, pretending to hunt like he had just seen demonstrated. Giggling with himself, he then grinned to the adult before he eagerly started munching on a hind leg. Mouth full of meat he spluttered a proper response to her inquiry - mommy had always said it wasn't polite not to answer questions! Mowe iff pafpy!, roughly translating to "mole is tasty". It would seem the treat went down well.

Colibri tilted her head, watching with an indulgent smile as Emwe wracked his brains for an answer. It was cute, seeing how his little tail stilled from the effort, how his expression crinkled up with concentration. But he deflated moments later, a sad frown announcing his defeat. "The same... meaning I am the same as your daddy? No, but you're close..." She prodded, then gave in to his disappointed face, unable to stomach his innocent crestfallenness. "Er, the real answer is that we have the same daddy... He was my dad before he was yours." She spoke softly, once again feeling a churning of anxiety in her belly. Was she doing a bad thing? Would Emwe not be happy anymore? Was she damaging his naive psyche by disproving his basic views of the world around him? She tried to keep her expression studiously blank, but she had always been terrible at masking her emotions. Her bright eyes betrayed her, every time.

Her baby brother stubbornly rebuked her, informing her the good sides to the enigmatic "Uncle Ly". "Um, all right," she replied quickly, acquiescing to his beliefs. If the stranger had not harmed him or his brother, well, she'd have to give him the benefit of the doubt. "You don't like small spaces, though? How will you find a den when you're all grown up?" Coli let a friendly smile grace her muzzle, waving her tail behind her. She looked forward to his answer. He was a charming boy in her eyes, fuzzy and adorable and entertaining. Now that he was no longer making blunt observations about the opposite sex, she was comfortable spending time with him... as long as neither of his parents caught wind of the meeting.

The Sadira-Soul pup seemed entranced by her brief stint of hunting, and even proceeded to mimic her actions, pouncing on the tiny warm carcass with his clumsy paws. She watched him happily, his excitement bolstering her sensitive spirits. She had done something right! He even seemed to like the taste, chowing down on the rodent with a gusto. "I'm glad," she murmured softly, pleased that she was now cemented in his good graces. Not all of her relatives hated her, now. She had a baby brother who liked her... How sweet.

His silvery eyes grew in size as he continued to sit there, watching the Coli who said impossible things. But.. daddy was his daddy, and the only reason why it was also Conor's was because they had been born together! The Coli hadn't, she was big! She was too big for that. His face let on that he wanted to speak, wanted to think aloud, and his mouth opened as if he did, but it closed again without a sound. The action was repeated once more, and every time his little sitting body leaned a little bit forward, as if his mind had full priority, and his motory skills did not. Then, his gaze was lowered to the ground for a moment, before looking back up on his half-sister, although he could not entirely grasp that concept either. His face was made of wrinkles as he spoke. Uh? His mind had by now turned the thought this way and that, and the sound he produced couldn't have represented his confusion better. It had never occurred to him that his parents had lived before him, because he had not, and he was new to this world - every sensation an adventure. But mommy and daddy are mine?

She let the subject of his "uncle" be, and perhaps it was wise, because if she had poked the subject more the boy might have become sad. Emwe was hardly ever sad, but a lot of people seemed to think that his uncle Ly was a bad person (almost everyone he met) - but he was not! He was a good person and it made him sad when people made up lies all on their own. Everyone should be nice to everyone, but that's not what happened in the world, and that's what occasionally made his eyes water. However, deftly avoiding one pit of dangerous subjects, his half-sister very nearly plunged head first into another. He'd never thought about that problem. He didn't like small spaces - he knew that. But daddy's house wasn't small so it was ok - wasn't he going to live there forever? I don't need one! I lives with daddy forever. The smile given the femme wasn't entirely convincing himself, but it was polite to smile and people gave him nice things and hugs and stuff when he did, so he did it a lot. It was nice to get hugs.

The coli said something while he happily chewed on his feast (his tummy couldn't possible hold all of that, could it?), but he didn't pick up what it was. His teeth cut into flesh and sometimes hit bone, and for every piece of food he could tear off of the little thing, the happier he was. And he had been quite cheerful from the start! By now he'd forgotten his sad despair when he thought he would die here alone, starve to death, because now he had a coli and a mole. And the mole was tasty! Really really tasty.

Hokay, my last post. Thank you for your patience! C: Emwe is still super-cute!
WC: 400+

The little pup struggled visibly to wrap his mind around it - he fidgeted, his gaze wandered, his brow furrowed until the confused wrinkles threatened to swallow his beady eyes. Coli hesitated, and then her nerve failed her. It was too soon for this revelation. She would have to talk to him when he got a little older, and maybe then it would all make sense? Because by then, the poor tyke would have some realizations of his own, about his broken home... "Of course they're yours, Emwe, don't worry about it," she said gently, nudging his round face with her wet nose. There was still time for him to be innocent. She didn't want to take that away from him.

She had been waiting for a charming answer to her question, but it surprised her a little that he had never thought about moving out. If he liked stories and adventure, didn't he want to explore? "That's nice of you, to keep your Daddy company... but when you're big and tall and strong, won't you want to find a new place?" The small wolf tilted her head, presenting the possibility. His polite little smile warmed her heart, and she shuffled her paws closer, pink tongue darting out to give him an affectionate lick on the cheek. Her tail thumped against the muddy grass, friendly smile unfaltering. Emwe was such a good boy! Surely everyone liked him. His silver-washed-blue eyes reminded her of fog over water, peaceful and iridescent. "It's not something you have to think about now, if you don't want to," she backpedaled, giving him an out.

The hungry child tucked into his meal, stubby muzzle digging into the warm cadaver as his sharp puppy teeth crunched indiscriminately. The fresh scent of prey made her own stomach stir, oft-neglected by the introverted wolf. She might need to do a little hunting of her own, after she safely delivered Emwe to one of his parents. "Are you still lost, sweetie? Your mommy's cabin is close to here, down thataways..." Coli's chocolate-brown ears perked forward as she looked pointedly in the direction, a tinge of sadness colouring her advice. She liked playing with him, talking about anything that came to mind, and helping him when she could. It had been chance that their paths crossed, and she might not be so lucky in the future, should she want to see him again. Still, if his parents were worried about him wandering off, it would not do to impede him any longer. He could finish his treat, and then he should probably head home.

The Coli spoke and poked him with her nose, and the boy giggled happily. He was relieved that she hadn't said anything about mommy and daddy that wasn't true. It upset him that so many people seemed to think so badly of both his family and his uncle, when they were not bad people (at least not in his mind). It was if they just made up lies, lies that made Conor sad. They didn't make Emwe so sad, because he knew it wasn't true, but it made him sad that people made lies. Lies were bad, his mommy said so. Coli said he shouldn't worry and he lit up with a smile, knowing very well the burden worry could be. He'd seen it with Conor. I's happy, I doesn't worry. Conor is worry but he is always sad and I's doesn't like to be sad. Nodding profoundly he was satisfied with this conclusion, and it made him feel pretty smart, too, that he'd figured that out all by himself. It felt good to be happy, and bad to be sad, so he didn't want to be sad, like Conor.

She asked so many strange questions! Alexey played with them and spoke to them and stuff, but the Coli asked many odd things - he'd never met someone who asked about as many odd things as her! Perhaps she asked things because she was stupid? But Conor asked things too and he was smart. Cocking his head to the side he studied his half-sister for a moment before replying, the strangeness of it all striking him. He was fascinated, although he didn't know. This person was a mystery, looking so much like his daddy and behaving nothing like her, and asking so many things about daddy! Maybe one day he wouldn't live with daddy, but he didn't know. He always wanted to live with his family, because he loved his family. It was that easy. His two orbs directed themselves towards the ground for a moment as he absent-mindedly replied. Maybe... He paused. Perhaps one day he would live somewhere else. His half-sister said something more, and he took the opportunity she offered him. He didn't want to think about that.

Oh! Mommy's cabin was there? He hadn't realized in all his pain when he was hungry and then the Coli had been interesting to talk to. He wanted to tell Conor all about the person who looked so much like his daddy, although Conor wasn't there, Conor was probably following Alexey around like normal. His ears perked upwards to make a happy face, pieces of mole sticking out from his little smiling mouth. Oh the Coli was smart - had he ever doubted her intelligence? With the food in his mouth he bounced a little before digging his face into the little piece of prey again. Then he remembered that it was polite to always say thanks. Taking a moment to swallow the flesh (it had been so much! It was hard to talk with it all inside the mouth), he sat down properly and looked at the Coli, being a good boy. Emwe Soul was always a good boy. Thank you for mole the Coli is nice to give it. His face looked very serious for a moment before he grinned widely again and pushed his face onto her leg - the closest part of her he could fint to shove his face into. His mommy liked it when he did that, everyone probably did. His tail worked furiously behind him, as attempting to lifte the boy from the ground with its spinning. This was a good day, a good day.
