Short and crappy, but I promised I’d have this thread up today. Backdated to whenever Lexey rescued Emwe. Marit will post next. Then Kris can jump in… and eventually Firefly :3

What the hell had just happened? Everything was a blur. Alexey was angry for many reasons; it felt as if her blood was boiling. Had it been possible, steam would’ve come out of her ears. Conor was still missing and that idiot of a dog had no idea where he was. As for Emwe, well, he didn’t seem all too pleased with Lexey for taking him away from “uncle Ly”. It saddened her a little bit, how he preferred some stranger over his appointed babysitter. On top of that, the pudgy child had baptized her “the angry lady”. Not a very flattering nickname!

From what she’d gathered thus far, Firefly was responsible for this. She’d dumped both of her sons in Phoenix Valley and staged their disappearance. Alexey didn’t want to believe it but it all made sense now. Pieces of the puzzle were finally coming together. No one had infiltrated Dahlia de Mai and kidnapped the children, hence why the pack hadn't found them until now. A few questions remained unanswered though. Whose blood had been on the Acer’s pelt that day? An explanation was long overdue.

Alexey was oblivious to Emwe’s comments. She was lost in her own train of thoughts. Upon crossing Dahlia de Mai’s eastern border, the caregiver wasted no time calling for the Rosea. There was a hint of urgency in her voice but the message was clear; she’d found one of the missing puppies.

Just powerplayed that she's carrying him in her mouth or something? Seems quicker than having to wait for his pudgy legs to carry him themselves Wink

The angry lady was angry, indeed. Of course, she wasn't angry at Emwe - Emwe was great! Emwe did only good things, because he was a good boy. That's what mommy had told him. And uncle Ly had said it too. Emwe was smart as well, but he didn't feel very smart as he dangled from his babysitter's mouth, making sure to be very silent and still. He was kind of tired, really. All the stuff that had happened had eaten up all of his energy. He was certain he couldn't run in circles even if he had wanted to, although right now he didn't really think he had reason to. The boy was kind of sad, too, that the two adults had argued so much, and over something silly, it seemed. Why, Emwe had had fun at uncle Ly's cabin, and Conor was on an adventure! How could it get any better? Although, he guessed, if mommy had stopped by a little more often it would perhaps have been better - and he hadn't seen daddy sine forever! Perhaps it would be nice to come home to them again. Yes, when the boy thought about it, he grew more and more certain. He just wished it wasn't so far, that they would get there soon, so he could sleep. Sleeping would be great.

The boy had shut up quite quickly after leaving the cabin, scared to say anything since the angry lady was so angry. Her name was Alexey, he knew that, and he also knew that she could be nice, too. But right now she was very angry, and sort of scary. Everyone were kind of scary when they were angry. Two puppy eyes looked at her legs as the female walked towards home, but his tongue was tied. He didn't even feel like saying any of the funny words uncle Ly had taught him! It was funny - must be because he was so tired. The boy's mind wandered drowsily from subject to subject, most of them involving sleeping, his brother's adventure or one of his (now) many parental figures. They were only entertaining for so long.

The call made her heart fly up through her throat and nearly jump out of her mouth. The puppies had been found? Cercelee knew that more than anyone Alexey had not given up hope. The women had searched nearly day and night, even when her Rosea was too exhausted and heart broken to join into the quest. And, impossible as it might have seemed, the puppysitter’s dedication had paid off. Cercelee couldn’t tell how long it took to reach the women as she made her way in past the borders, it seemed like an eternity and no time at all at the same time. She only knew that when she reached the Koios women that she was out of breath.

“Where did you find them?” The words spilled from her mouth as she quickly took up Emwe from Alexey’s grip, placing him gently on the ground with her own maw and giving the poor child a through inspection. Her nose poked here and there, nudging him to fall over so she could see all sides of him. No wounds, no scars, nothing. He was fine. A long, slow sigh of relief and an apologetic smile to the tired child who must think this woman who he barely knew was insane. And then a new fear flew up from the darkness of her gut. “Where is Conor?” There had been two to start with, and now, only one?

The woman had been getting ready for the trek to the distant packlands to bring the two boys back. Lysander knew that oneday she would return for them and she had let it go on long enough but it seemed that even now she wasn't going to be going as far as she thought. The copper and gold woman had caught the call of the pupsitter and she snarled at the words that were sounded to the whole of the pack. Anger and spite seemed to fight one another inside her as she leaped off the porch and quickly made her way to where the woman was. She was not going to enjoy this at all.

It didn't take the woman very long to find her way to where Alexey was but it seemed that she wasn't quick enough. She knew that if Alexey had found them then she knew how they had got there. She growled softly as she slowed her approach, the words of the Rosea heard clearly as she came within view. She watched as Cercelee looked over the smallest packmate as she realized that Alexey only had one of her children about the same time that Cercelee did.

Trying to shove the fear away Firefly stood her ground as she answered the question for Alexey. It was better that she stood up for herself than allow the woman who was once her friend to smear her name. She'd fall at her own hand than second under another. "She found them where I left them." she said, no more no less as her cold eyes glanced from one woman to the other before settling on Emwe.

Thankfully, the Rosea arrived in a timely manner. Alexey wasn’t sure how long she would’ve remained calm otherwise. She didn’t want to take her anger out on Emwe, of all people. The Caregiver granted her leader a half-hearted smile, watching quietly as the puppy went through intensive examination. It was only when Cercelee asked where “they” had been found that Alexey allowed a pained expression to cross her face. She didn’t know what to say or how to explain things. Heck, she barely understood what the hell was going on.

She did not have to deliver the bad news; Cercelee quickly realized that one of the boys was still missing. Lexey shook her head mutely, confirming the fact that she did not know where little Conor Soul was. She was about to provide a more detailed explanation when the children’s mother appeared out of nowhere. Her golden eyes widened with shock before settling on Firefly, mirroring the woman’s cold stare. A mixture of anger, disappointment and concern swirled through her mind. Alexey did not know how to react.

“She staged the whole thing. The pups were in Phoenix Valley with a friend of hers. Conor ran away,” she finally explained, her amber-colored orbs still fixated upon the traitor.

Alexey put him down to face the rosea, a pretty white lady, who quickly turned him this way and that. Sometimes, when her nose poked here and there he giggled, but he was in reality much too tired for this game. Eventually he simply sat there while Cercelee (for that's what her name was, it seemed) looked at him and the two adults spoke together. His puppy blue eyes looked up at them and decided that one day he'd be big like them. Again the boy realized just how tired he was, used to sleeping at this hour anyway. He was just about to lie down when so many things happened at once! First of all, mommy came striding out of nowhere. The boy was on all four in a split second, tail wagging terribly behind him - so glad to see one of his family members. He'd missed his pretty mommy, it was true. The three women didn't seem very happy though. It wasn't the body language that told him that it was so, because he wasn't that good with stuff like that yet. No, it was their voices, the pitch. They didn't sound like they were good friends at all. Then Cer asked where Conor was, and before he could say anything both of the other two women did. And then there was an opening, which the boy naturally took advantage of. Throwing in his own interpretation of Conor's adventure would probably clear everything up. The three women seemed awfully worried about him, anyways. Coner's on an adventure! Still standing up, he spun around to look at the white lady, and spoke - oblivious to the fact that he was partly the subject of the meeting, not, in fact, a participant per se. Perhaps he'll be eaten by a bear! Excitement was the same as danger, for a little boy who did not know death.

Emwe I suppose should tell them Ly’s name, since he’s the only one who really knows it?

The information came flying at her all at once and Cercelee was at a loss for what to feel. Suddenly the old feeling came over her. The mask which she had donned so often in the past, able to lie perfectly to anyone and everyone, which she had thrown out months ago, or so she had believed. She wore it now. Her eyes flitted from Alexey, to Emwe, and finally to Firefly, who seemed to show up even before she had been invited. Her voice was calm and kind, her eyes just curious. It did not matter how she really felt, even if she wanted to take her anger out on Firefly her body just wouldn’t let her. It would be too much.

"Why? Why did you take them? Why did you lie, to all of us?" It made sense now, Cercelee had been suspicious, Firefly had seemed too unfazed by her children’s absence. Haku had sworn he hadn’t left the children alone, there had been no stranger’s scents in the land. It did not make sense, the way she had punished the whole pack, Dahlia de Mai had not deserved it. Turning back to Alexey, trusting her word more at the moment than Firefly’s, her voice was the same. Almost hypnotic. “Do you know the name of the male who had the puppies?”

The words from the Rosea were like annoying little gnats buzzing about her ears. She straightened up as she looked to the leader, though she felt that she really didn't have a need to have to explain herself she did so anyways to amuse the masses. "What would you have done, come to find your own mate having brought his whore and bastard get to reside right along side your own family." Her eyes flared as she spoke the words, the pride and anger sparking as she went on. "It wasn't suppose to happen like that. If you hadn't called that damn meeting I wouldn't have had to bring it to face so quickly. " She glared at Alexey as she watched Emwe settle between them all. "Perhaps I should have just left and taken them with me, either way you'd still think I was in the wrong." She could tell already that there was no escaping now. If only the damn bitch hadn't been whining and moaning about the lost puppies all the time she would have had enough time to collect them.

The fact that Conor was missing worried her but not as much as the fact that they were wanting answers now. She knew that soon enough Haku would be brought around and the whole scene would go to hell in two seconds flat. She flicked her ears back as Cercelee asked the question of where they'd been. "They were in Phoenix Valley, where do you think I'd bring them?" She still didn't know that Lysander had never informed DaVinci that his nephews were in the lands, she just trusted that he knew. Not that it really mattered anyways. She was just disgusted by this whole thing and wanted to wash her hands clean of it now that Alexey had decided to drag the whole thing through the mud.

Cercelee’s question should’ve been directed at Emwe. The pudgy child kept calling him “uncle Ly”. His full name, however, was a mystery. It was probably Ly-something. “Not sure. Emwe calls him uncle Ly. He’s a husky, if that helps any. There aren’t many dogs around here.” she explained, glancing down at Emwe for some kind of confirmation. They could always ask DaVinci for his full name, even if Lexey had mixed feelings about the hybrid now. Could he be trusted? After all, the pups had been kept in Phoenix Valley this whole time.

Firefly spoke again, and something snapped in the back of Alexey’s mind. Her excuses for doing what she did were just rubbish. So what if the Lillium had brought Deuce and his illegitimate daughter to Dahlia de Mai? Big fucking deal. Haku was an ass, and everyone knew it. “That’s what you get for wanting a bad boy. You knew what he was like and you chose to ignore it. Now deal with the consequences.” She mirrored Firefly’s glare and paired it with a snarl. The multi-hued woman was getting on her nerves.

Crappy post but hey, and sorry for the wait.

........
........

His silver and blue eyes danced between the grown ups around him, and the women seemed to be arguing about something he didn't quite understand. While he was utterly happy to see mommy again, everyone were so angry, and he didn't know what to do with himself. Emwe was quite aware of the fact that no one seemed to be talking to him anymore, but to each other, but that didn't stop him from speaking up. He didn't in fact understand everything that was going on, but he realized they didn't know uncle Ly's name. Quickly reaching the conclusion that he would be useful if he said it, he squeaked once to get some attention, and then just said it right afterwards anyway, in case no one had heard it. His eyes were on his mother, as he was very eager to go home now, but it seemed he would have to wait for mommy-hugs until this was over. Uncle Lyssanner lives in the cabin. In Fynnix Vallie.

After Alexey and Emwe excuse themselves, Cer can officially demote Firefly and then we can end? XD this is so out dated.

The words Firefly spoke, the explanation, none of it mattered. She had fallen from grace and Cercelee couldn’t stand for it any longer. The Acer posed a question and Cercelee’s answer was dripping with disgust. “I would not have punished the whole pack for my own insecurities.” Firefly had truly acted childish in Cercelee’s eyes. Recklessly even. She had not punished Haku, who probably couldn’t care less if his children were missing or not, but she had upset the rest of the pack, and all for nothing but Deuce? Was the white female really such a threat to Firefly? Cercelee snorted at the next words, indeed, either way Firefly would have suffered for her choices. “You were in the wrong.” Her voice rose, not out of lack of control, but only to emphasis. This wasn’t a game any longer.

Quickly the information she wanted poured out of Alexey and Emwe and Cercelee nodded. A husky was hard to come by in these parts, and now they could recognize his name, they knew where he resided. Yet, while he would be declared an enemy, banned from crossing into Dahlian lands, he never would have gotten a hold of the children had Firefly not placed them in his grasp. “Alexey, take Emwe to your cabin, we’ll continue the search for Conor tomorrow... ” She turned to Firefly then, “If he still lives.” No one knew where Conor was, not even his own mother.

Firefly snarled at the golden woman as she let her tongue fly. She narrowed her eyes as she spat. "Shut up Alexey, it's not like you've never made a wrong choice in your life. You're not as perfect as you think either." She was truly disgusted at the woman who seemed to think she was an angel and she wished the bitch would just get on with her life and walk the hell out of the field. When her focus was brought back by Cercelee's words she already knew that she was in trouble it wasn't like she needed a lecture from the bitch at the top. She turned her eyes away as Cercelee informed her of what she already knew, it wasn't like she had anything else to add, or that anyone else would listen.

When Cercelee informed Alexey to take her son Firefly's eyes light up as she snarled. "He's my son, she has no right to take him anywhere!" She didn't care if she was about to get herself in more trouble in her eyes the leader had no right to take her own child from her. She barely caught the last words that the white woman had uttered as she glared at the tiny leader, knowing that if she really wanted to she could take the bitch right then and there, but she'd never see her children again if she went that far. She couldn't help the poison thoughts that filtered through her mind though as she stared at Cercelee.

Luckily, anger overshadowed the heartache that accompanied her former friend’s verbal assault. Firefly’s sharp command caught her off guard, and an untamable growl instantly rose in the back of her throat. It was a good thing that Cercelee had enough restraint to act as the referee in spite of her own personal feelings, or their bickering would’ve escalated into a war. “Go to hell, Firefly. I’m through with you.” she countered, unable to control the way her voice trembled under pressure. Apparently trusting the two-toned woman had been a big mistake; it was obvious how twisted and inconsiderate she truly was.

A command passed the Rosea’s maw, and the Caregiver reluctantly obliged. As much as she wanted to wring Firefly’s neck, taking Emwe from her didn’t seem right. It was necessary though; she understood the reasoning behind her leader’s instructions. Taking a swift step towards the pudgy child, Alexey scooped the boy into her arms before he even had a chance to realize what was going on. One last glance was thrown at the Rosea, her amber-colored orbs mirroring uncertainty. She then turned her back to them and headed off in another direction, both ears laid flat against her skull. Firefly’s objection was the last thing she heard before walking out of hearing range, and it broke her heart.

Cercelee watched passively as Alexey led the little boy away from his mother. Firefly’s words were wasted puffs of air, for her protests were groundless. Alexey did have a right to take the puppy away and she exercised that right when asked to by her leader. Cercelee’s eyes turned to Firefly, the woman was only nasty, never remorseful and Cercelee did not feel sorry for her at all. Everything that came to her she deserved. “She has every right to take him, you on the other hand,” Cercelee looked over Firefly, once so high in the pack, even with her false air of superiority, she hadn’t really deserved the rank. Haku at least served a purpose for Cercelee, Firefly had ridden on her mate’s shoulders. “you no longer have any rights in this pack. You are the Solum, dirt. Nothing. Your children will stay with Haku or Alexey or anyone else besides you.”

Her tone was not overly harsh or vengeful; in fact they were quite neutral. As far as Cercelee was concerned she was merely stating the facts. Firefly’s presence was just a burden she would have to deal with until the women left or was forced to, she’d never rise in the ranks again. There was nothing personal about it, Cercelee felt, it was just pack policies at work.

Firefly couldn't help as her heckles rose at the words that the leader spoke. She didn't care if she was their leader her children were not the property of the pack and the bitch had no right to take any of them from her. She snarled at the slap to the face as her high earned rank was taken from her and she was cast to the dirt. Her emerald eyes narrowed as she turned away from the white woman without granting her an answer. If she was going to take her children then she was going to pay for it one day.

The golden bronze woman didn't say a word as she left the leader behind. She would see her son and she knew that Conor would resurface, he was a Sadira after all. Her eyes turned one last time to see the leader, the threat shining in those orbs as she quickly whipped her head around and left, her mistakes weighing heavy on her heart, for her children more than herself.
