She's a wild one

Firefly had been exploring the lands and she had been most intrigued when she'd found the old ancient oak tree that's limbs had stretched clear across the river. The young woman had crept up onto the massive limb and had made her way to the middle of the river, laying down upon her belly and letting her toes dangle in the cool water while she watched the shadows and light play across the surface of the liquid below. A sly little smile simmered on her lips while she wondered just what there was to do with the rest of the evening.

Her eyes scanned the rippled surface of the water before moving over towards the cabin that sat so close to the water. She was wondering if perhaps she should change the location of her own home to this new riverside property. She smiled at the thought, knowing that it would make it a little harder for the pack to get to her in this new location further from the rest of the pack's dens and cabins. She grinned and snickered, shaking her head, liking the idea of getting away for a little bit of time before the rest of the pack figured out where she'd wandered off to.

Strelein wondered when he could finally stop saying he was exploring and say he was taking long walks. It seemed there was so much to see, and he couldn't do it fast enough to satisfy his curiousity. He'd visited the coast more frequently than any other place though, and he could no longer call that exploring. One down, so many more to go.

What he did expect to find was a river, which he did. It wasn't the clearest one he'd ever seen, but it was pretty nice in his opinion. He'd wet a hand and cleaned off his face from the meal he'd caught himself earlier. With everything clean, Strel waded through the not so deep river, motions creating sloshing sounds as he shifted through the liquid. It was getting to be a bit chilly though, with the temperature dropping as the sun was in its descent.

It wasn't long before he'd found Firefly, completely unintentionally. He approached her from behind, glancing up at her back and tail, wondering why she was perched over the river rather then beside it. "How's the view from up there?" He waded to beside the branch, hands gripping it where the female wasn't sitting.

I would have replied sooner but I totally forgot about it DDDD: -kowtows-

Firefly hadn't expected company, having explored the river for just that reason but with the sloshing sound of one wading in the river she hoped that if she ignored the sounds that it would just turn out to be a deer or some otters frolicking about. When she was greeted with the voice of another and the sudden shift in weight on the branch she lifted her head quickly and bared her teeth at the intruder for a second before she realized the face was not one she knew, though his pelt was rather stunning and the figure wasn't so bad either.

She snapped her jaws shut and raised a brow at the stranger as she asked, "And who are you?" completely ignoring the question he'd ask, she'd get back to that later, but for right now she wanted to know who this strange fellow who didn't seem to smell of the pack was. Her emerald eyes examined what she could see of the male as she wondered if there was any real reason why he'd invaded her space, not that she really minded now..

Eyes widened at the reaction he received, Strelein looked back at the female. He personally thought that she had overreacted. All he did was very loudly approach her from behind. He hadn't been trying to be subtle so there was no reason to act so very testy. Was it him, or were all the females in the pack so very hormonal? He gave Firefly an innocent smile, letting his tense muscles relax after her response.

"Oh I'm sorry. I'm Strelein. I just joined the other day." He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder, towards the area where the rest of the pack had their homes. His grip on the branch tightened a little as he felt the current around his feet try to move him. It wasn't strong, but it wasn't something he was willing to lose his balance over.

apologies. he exacerbates everything a little ^^;

Firefly didn't really care what the male thought of her just yet but she was very much interested in how he got there, for the time being. The answer he provided her with caused her to slightly relax as she eyed him, wondering just what was his story, was he a smart cookie or was he one of those shallow types. She'd prefer the second, because if she got what she wanted from him there was less of a chance of a hissy fit insuing when she wandered off and played her next hand in life.

His grip on the limb tightened as she felt the slight sway of motion. Her eyes lingered on the male as she dryly replied, "If I end up in this water you will be more trouble than you are worth.." Maybe she could con him into giving her what she wanted if he was foolish enough to toss her in the river to save his own ass. She would try and enforce such things, she had no problem pulling rank, even though in their pack it was almost useless.

She let out a yawn as she flicked her tail back and forth, the tip brushing over the male's arm as she wondered why he was just clinging there like a half drought rat. The tempting idea of pushing him in did cross her mind but she doubted that was the right way to go about making the boy drool over her looks and dance the dance she wanted him too.

The grin that had been plastered on his maw shifted, making him look far more sheepish than before. He shook the branch, forceful on purpose. "I didn't realize that I was worth any trouble in the first place." Strel turned, leaning sideways against the branch as he looked up at the female. He had no way of realizing what it was she was starting to want from him. It was namely because of the fact that nothing suggested it. Even if it was pretty obvious by body language and tone, he probably wouldn't really get it. Females confused him in that aspect.

Strelein glanced at the tail tip that ran across his arm slightly, furrowing eyebrows in response up at her. "So, like, no one in this pack has any real rank issues, do they?" He couldn't really believe how seemingly useless ranks were here. True he probably was very much so under the King and his Constable, but still, it seemed as though everyone was so very easy going. So what was the point of having ranks below the highest ones? Oh well, maybe it was for show and for flair. Flair was good. Flair was fun.

Firefly lay on her branch like a prissy spoiled housepet as she raised her nose up in the air at the way the male was acting. When he suddenly seemed to think that it was a smart idea to actually shake the limb despite her warnings. With a flip of her tail she grasp a hold of the solid surface firmly as her emerald orbs shot back to the male at his teasing response. "You won't be if you keep that up.." she warned as her now wet tail flipped up in his face as she attempted to smack him right in the mouth.

She gathered herself up from her sprawled out position on the treebranch as she let her paws dangle in the waters as she glanced over to the boy, his new question making her smile. "We all have duties and things.. mostly depending on our co-ranks, but some of our actual ranks come with duties.. and privileges.." She grinned at the male as she waited for him to ask just what those duties and privileges were. She knew she could come up with some swift lies, even when she did have her chores that were expected of her, they all did, but he obviously didn't know them all. She scooted closer to the male as she tried to wring out the excess water from her poor tail.

He was forced to turn away or get wet tail to collide with his face. Now she just seemed oh so very playful, though her voice didn't seem to match her body language at first. Strel still thought she was just trying to get to him for interrupting her or disobeying her. Now the male honestly wanted to get the female knocked off the branch and into the water. Though she would probably end up trying to use him as a walking towel. That or shove him into the river as vengeance.

"Privileges? Like who gets to harass the new people more often?" he snorted, recalling how Svara had come onto his entrance to the pack, and then started insulting him a couple of times. "Or is it like, who gets to... ugh I don't even know." He pulled a face, eyeing Firefly carefully. She scooted towards him, and was wringing out her tail. Strel moved over a bit, thinking she was trying to get him wet. His feet were in the water. That was enough for him. "You knoooow, you haven't introduced yourself."

Firefly kept an eye on the male as he really seemed to want to do more damage to her than he'd already done. She made a face as he began to ask questions on the privileges of the pack. She laughed, assuming that Svara had been the one to meet the boy when he'd come to the edges of the land. She flashed him a grin as she asked. "Now why would you think that? We're not all that bad are we?" the flirting obvious in her voice as she chuckled.

Moving a bit closer once more she leaned forward as he made the obvious point that she hadn't introduced herself. She raised a brow as she slid one hand onto his thigh as she tilted her head to the side and asked as though shocked. "I didn't? How dreadfully rude of me.." and yet once again she didn't offer him her name, just a sweet little smirk on her lips.

He shrugged, shoulders rising with the motion of the action. He couldn't truly say how bad everyone was, having not met everyone yet. It wouldn't be fair to use such an accusation without having the proper bases. Strelein eyed Firefly slightly as he finally heard the tone of her voice. It wasn't exactly the most innocent one he'd ever heard, but he was surprised at it. A few quick glances up and down her told him that she was indeed attractive. It only sucked that he felt no kind of attraction to her.

As the hand went to his thigh, he almost grew alarmed at it, but then decided against protesting. Strel believed it was just a jest, a joke. They barely knew each other. This female couldn't possibly be that sleazy. Raising an eyebrow at her, he gave a coy grin in her direction. His hand pushed hers away gently, shaking the branch a slight bit. "You are being quite rude. Just tell me your name, and I won't feel obligated to push you into the stream."

apologies for a late response
