Trade Conduct
An important aspect of the Family is their love and need of trade goods and services. Taken from the Collective are the practices and values of what goods are traded and received, as well as what services better assist the prosperity of the Family. A chink, or softness in this practice perhaps, is a Nomad’s enjoyment for stories and experiences from traveling. One story may not be worth the same as another, as the value is determined by the recipient, however one can bet that if there is a story to trade, you’ll have a Nomads attention.
As far as practical goods, the Nomads of Sangi’lak will often trade for goods that will aid the pack overall, or favor their particular sect. (ie. Wood for bows or pens for the Evan’ule, colored and soft stones for the Mareck, maps and writing instruments for the Lambda, etc.)
Each member is able to trade to their own discretion, however there are two policies each member is asked to abide by;
- *At the beginning of a trade, to encourage good will, present a small offering first (a trinket, a small hunt, fur, etc) before proceeding with the intended trade. The status of the trades, however, depends on whether or not the second needs to be obliged.
- **If the trade is positive with the possibility for a continued line, the member is encouraged to offer an owlet (baby owl) to keep an open line of communication. Along with recycling resources, trade lines are an essential part of maintaining pack prosperity.
