He found strength in the woman beside him and shut the rest of the world out as he quietly appreciated her presence. There seemed to be no burden too heavy when she was there to carry it with him. He knew what would be announced, but as his darker coated father’s words rung out and poisoned Dahlia’s minds, he felt only sorrow. He understood that it was necessary. Three young children had lost their mother in the most horrible way. He hoped that Mew would manage to hang on to life and come back, but he feared that the children were already damaged. Instead of losing her instantly, they were witnesses to their mother drifting so close between the fine line of life and death. How could they not be filled with sadness and grief? Conor was just as upset as anyone else would be if they were about to lose a family member, but he was able to think around his own burning feelings in search for sense. He had seen the beasts try to take his father down and failed. Haku seemed to not think of his lavender eyed son as such a weakling anymore, and Conor truly hoped that he had done what was right when he had stormed in to defend his alpha.

Ears seemed to be permanently folded against his golden skull, but those harsh words of Haku Soul managed to slither into his consciousness nevertheless. Although Inferni had clearly shown themselves off as enemies of the pack in several ways already, the young male could not get himself to believe that this was a random attack for no reason. He knew that there had been bad blood between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni in the past too, but he did not believe that they were the savages they were shown off as. There was doubt within the Rosen’s son and he knew that he would not know rest until he had a clearer image of what was going on. They were at war, true, but Conor did not believe in war. They had used stealth and gone for Haku. Had it been on purpose or was it a mere coincidence that Haku had been the first wolf they had run into? Conor did not openly show his second thoughts. He seemed like a neutral part. He did not cheer and grin when his father spoke of war, but he did not turn his gaze away in disgust either. He could not afford that. After the man had finished speaking the younger male looked to the northeast. Perhaps he should take a chance for once.
