The sable-furred woman was surprised to see that Vieira had matured any. She had never had a childhood, she had never had a life. Unlike Eris, there was no desire to escape the life she'd been handed. Well, maybe that wasn't entirely true—maybe Vieira did want to escape her bonds, but even so, true determination did not exist within her. She was a hollow shell of a canine, in Eris's eyes, simple possession and nothing more—and as the tears began to flow, the sable-furred canine drew back, releasing the other canine's muzzle and flicking her hand downward, rubbing those same fingers along her own thigh as if the simple act of being in physical contact with Vieira was dirtying.
“That's more like it, little girl,” Eris said, laughing to herself over the other canine's tears. Vieira was the only one here Eris was even capable of this sort of condescension to—there was nothing the sable-furred Tirones could hold over anyone else at this very moment. These Infernians did not yet see, and she did not yet trust them enough to show them. She could play useless all day. Even so, it was cathartic for the shadow-dusted Lykoi to see those tears flowing from the other canine's face. She had been held beneath the Kimaris family for those many long months, forced into things she could hardly stand to remember.
