ohnoes! D:

Grace watched as her breath rose and fell in the air around her. Although summers in the Canadian terrain were unbearably hot - especially the summer Grace had been involved in - autumn was already its full course and the cold snap was directly on the poor puppy. So naturally her breaths, short and jagged as they were, became a visible matter and it served to chill the child far past the howl's zenith. She gave a shifty glance from the left and then to the right, as if her rescuer was to pop out of the forest's foliage once alarm was sounded. Like her own personal Batman or something.

Unfortunately, the foliage lent no hero to save her from the scary desolation that had pressed upon the puppy. Instead, she found herself more or less as alone as she had been before the pathetic howl. For some odd reason though, she stayed relatively calm, taking short breaths as she analyzed the situation and the best way to push past it. She was self-sufficient when necessary, but if there was an easy way out she would much prefer that way. However, there was no easy way out on this one, and Grace would just have to carve her own path home. Until, that was, she heard a reply of a howl.

Tail working feverishly behind her, Grace's whole body became alert and seeking of her new hero. The call sounded feminine in nature, and this fueled her to press out another cry of her own. A conversation of sorts, the howl was loud enough to triangulate the pup if her rescuer was close enough. Grinning and prancing, she giggled and couldn't contain her excitement of being found like a damsel in distress. She barked a few times, wiggling against the brush and darting here and there before everything went drastically wrong.

When zig zagging herself from place to place, a greater mana seemed to take a hold of her. Grace lost her footing along a gnarled tree root. Without any time to react, the girl tumbled down the side of the hill. The jagged cliff-side left out marring rocks for her to fall onto, bruising her sides and paws as she went. There wasn't even any time to howl out another plea of help, or even voice out anything as she was carried down by the fates of gravity. Before she even knew it, she splashed deep into a nearby creek's water, carried away by the strong autumn's current. "Help!" She managed to gurgle, "help mee!"
