days blur into one

ooc here!

Mia Tuk opened her eyes to a generous sun. If the day before her situation had seemed out of hand, today found her at the start of a new life. She yawned, still slightly sleepy. It seemed that the long hours of slumber obstinately hung onto her grayish-pelted body. Her stomach was fairly full from the day before, so she didn't quite feel the need to go looking for breakfast right away. It was more like she felt the urge to explore. After all, she was on a new territory, having a new title: not that of a loner pup, anymore, but that of a pack member.
Hopping to her paws, she stretched, making her muscles lose the heaviness they bore. The place where she had slept was nowhere close to being unfamiliar and Mia Tuk was rather pleased with how rapidly she seemed to adapt to her new surroundings and situation. She had been a terribly lucky pup, she knew that much. Above all, she had made a resolution the night before. She would grow up to be one of the most reliable wolves that ever existed. Not just for herself, but for those who had accepted her among them when they had no particular responsibility for the stranger she was. She flinched. Yes, a stranger, she was still just a newcomer. But she would manage to earn everyone's trust, eventually. Or so she hoped.

The new scents lured the puppy farther than she had intended to go. But the young she-wolf knew how to find her own way back. She had a strange feeling of security, though, that made her leave her guard down and, even if she knew that wasn't precisely the wisest thing a vulnerable creature like her should do, she couldn't help it. The place, her new acquaintances, every event that had already happened and even those that lay afoot, made Mia more reckless than she generally was. Well, truth be told, she was hopelessly curious - among other things.

Her ears pricked and she stopped dead in her tracks. There was movement ahead of her. The pup sniffed carefully, but she needn't guess what was rummaging through the leaves a few tail-lengths away from her, since the body of a small mouse popped up unexpectedly. Mia let out a playful bark, startling the poor creature and watched it run immediately. She sprang from her place as well and raced after the tiny creature, her paws pushing against the ground frantically for speed. She needed to catch it!

Caught up completely in her chase, she didn't even realize her surroundings had modified drastically. She didn't even see the figure or sense the presence of another wolf, either so it didn't come as a surprise when she almost bumped into a male. She stiffened right away and her fur bristled slightly as her eyes widened in shock. His scent, however, soothed her nerves, but before she could salute properly she pouted. "Aw, it got away!" She whimpered.
