Her heart beat faster and faster as she viciously tried to get out of the male's way. Her ears flattened against her skull. Though slightly darker, their cinder-tainted color blended in perfectly with the rest of her pelt. Although Mia knew that the elder wolf would eventually catch up with her, that didn't stop her. Nor did the fact that she felt him cribbing the distance between them, pinching lightly at her hind legs slow her down. In fact, it gave her a boost of energy. She had to at least make an attempt to overtake him , even if for a couple of seconds.
Then, the inevitable happened. With an almost unearthly jump, Saul was in front her, blocking her way. Her ears popped up almost instantly and her eyes widened in surprise. Her jaws parted superficially, completing her already astonished expression. She looked down at his paw, sensing it on her chest, but only his voice managed to shake her out of her shock. She tried to speak , but before she could utter anything at all, he was off. She inhaled deeply and burst after him.
"I'm so gonna get you for this!" She called. She was still utterly amazed by his speed and she blinked hopelessly as she fell back gradually. Ugh...I'll never reach him like this. She thought, slightly disappointed in her rudimentary abilities. She barked two times after him and forced her paws to go even faster, blood roaring in her ears. The world started to fade around her and ,soon, all she could see ahead of her was Saul's rapid figure. For a second she considered giving up.
At that exact moment, her paws slipped and she met the ground with a yelp. "Puh!" She puffed, getting up slowly. She shook the dust off her pelt, but remembered that the male was still ahead of her. "Oh,no..." Although the fell brought a faint pain with it and her stomach was still clenched with her sudden fear, she did not want to withdraw from a challenge.A second later she was chasing after him again.
