"Fine." She answered his concerned question with barely a whisper. Her chest went up and down briskly as she fought for air while still trying to keep her speed just right. It wasn't long, though, until her weariness forced the pup to a trot before she stopped for good. Her broad, brown eyes stared at the male who had halted as well. A healthy-pink tongue hovered from Mia's mouth in addition to her already fully-spread tired expression. For a second she wanted to tease Saul by asking him if he was giving up, still she decided otherwise. After all, it was written all over her body that she was the one admitting defeat. She wanted nothing more but to lie down for a couple of seconds, when she was hit straight in the face by a new challenge. Well, she wasn't going to withdraw just like that.

It seemed that in her apparently barren shell, a new flow of energy started to course, steadily. She was yet again relentlessly following her playmate. This time, though, she didn't focus on winning. The word 'must' had erased from her juvenile mind. Small paws left and met the ground again and again with a clicking, tireless sound. She was having fun. She wasn't running away for her life and she needn't prove anyone anything. They were playing, and she had been the only one thinking otherwise.

"I'm trying!" She barked with a chuckle, before shaking her head, not stopping once. She would slow down to a trot every now and then, allowing herself to recover from the effort. The pauses, however, made the pup look as if she were hobbling on the cemented path they were using as playground. "I'm taking that back!" She said, gaining speed once more. "I will!" Her eyes were fixed on his tail and were burning with the determination of a youngster. She would have laughed out loud, if that didn't get in the way of her running performance.
