days blur into one

I'm so sorry for not replying earlier! I didn't get a free day until today. The whole week's been filled with test papers! Argh!

She chuckled as she heard him complain about being a starving child. Well, she was , too. She could relate to a hungry stomach, but still, she could have endured that for hours if she had to. Strangely enough she seemed to have grown very fond of Saul in the few time they had spent together. To the young pup he seemed so wise and his every gesture looked as if it had been thought for long. Of course, she was quite forgetting that he wasn't all that much older than she was, but she couldn't help but admire those around her that didn't share her age. In comparison with them, Mia found herself more like a, as funny as it sounds, a mouse. Not even a wolf-in-development. It didn't take her long to engross that particular feeling after the explanation about how the wolves in Dahlia de Mai were much different than the wolves she was used to.

How was that even possible?, she wondered. She couldn't seem to understand what 'different wolves' referred to. She had always thought that wolves were more or less all alike with very little features to make them different from one another in terms of behaviour. She thought that they had all the same purpose and the only difference between the way they lived was the fact that there were loners and there were packs. Was she too young? Had she not have enough time to find out about yet another thing that made all of them so very distinct?

Of course, she knew that every individual was unique and the whole story about how each creature is different and still very important for the Balance of the world, still, looking at Saul she didn't really see that many differences. She narrowed her eyes, trying to observe any sort of abnormality, but there was none. He was just as wolf as she was. Perhaps there was a deeper meaning to what he had said. "Different how?" Pricking her ears as a sign of curiosity, she went on. "And what's winter like? Is it really that bad?" She had forgotten everything about her being hungry. All that she wanted at that time was information.

Stories were never enough, she figured. She always needed more, always craved for more. She wanted to know as much as possible and her inquiries seemed endless, ever-present. When he reassured her that she would get used to everything, she had no doubt about it. The real issue was time. How long would it take her to make a habit out of walking in and out of houses or buildings? Maybe she just needed to think they were , well, larger dens, differently sketched. She didn't even make a sound as he said that she had defeated him. That wasn't her main priority right then, plus she knew that was hardly the truth. "I did not. You just gave up." She said, cheerfully. "But if you're all that tired..." She had caught the hint and she hopped to her paws, taking a few steps forward. "Will you still tell me everything I want to know?" She sniffed the air, but paused. Mia was just realizing that, in her frantic chase, she had barely paid any attention to the places she passed by. "Ugh..." She dipped her head and checked the scents, recognizing the way she had come after a couple of long seconds. She started to walk forward, testing the smells every now and then when insecurity hit her in the guts.
