It had been the thrashing and wild movements that had drawn Hybrid to the water’s edge. For a moment, he had wondered if there was a fight going on in the water. A canine was jumping every which way in and it was quite strange. However, Hybrid quickly realized that the coyote was more likely battling the water than a real foe. He could smell any blood, either, so it just seemed like the thing was having a mighty grand time doing whatever the hell it was he was doing. He snorted derisively as he moved closer, both at the other coyote and the strange wording of his last thought. As he moved closer, he could see that it was indeed only one coyote. It seemed as though the brood of Inferni were getting dumber.

Hybrid lingered a short distance downwind of the other canine, watching quietly. He began to move even closer when he saw the coyote rest in the sand. Hybrid wasn’t sure what the coyote’s problem was, and had he been a more curious creature, he probably would have asked. Instead, he preferred to silently judge and brood; that was a much more appropriate response for him. After all, he wasn't skilled enough to phrase the question in a way that wouldn't come out as an insult and he really did not care to learn the answer, either.

He trotted closer, moving so that he would be standing only a metre away from the other canine. He said nothing, but grunted when he came closer. It came out almost as a gravelly snicker, like a chain-smoker might laugh if they were a werecoyote. Since he was wholly inept at making conversation, he let his single noise serve as his introduction.
