WC: 399. Heeerrrp. Hybrid's a badass, lol.

Kesho Maisha

Kesho watched the brute, realizing that he indeed took him for a fool just as suspected. No matter, though. It had happened before; surely it would happen again, as well. He didn't mind, and took others' reactions to his unique personality in stride. To his kin, he always spoke with the best intentions, and felt no need to explain this. This canine seemed to expect little from Kesho, based on his extreme brevity and bodily language. And perhaps the elder coyote never would become any great shakes, but he'd like to think that he at least had more than another body to contribute to this clan. He would defend it with his life, and hoped that his kinsmen would do the same, despite their questioning. His face became stoic and emotionless now, reflecting the other canine's cold expression. After a fairly lengthy period of silence, the beast finally uttered his name. Hybrid. No doubt, despite his quiet personality, this canine was surely a skilled fighter. His body seemed in top form, despite his small build, and Kesho took notice of it. He had been working, as well; getting his own muscles strengthened again, after being on his own for so long, needing only to have enough strength to feed and defend himself. Now, he had others relying on him to protect them, and he would do so. His strength had already doubled so far in his time back, and it felt good.

The bronze coyote wondered if Hybrid had any interest in him at all, or if he should even continue their conversation. He figured, though, that although they might not all be the best conversationalists, he should at least attempt to get to know his kinsmen-- even if they were slightly less than cooperative.

"You've lived here a while, I can tell." He wasn't sure how to proceed in his attempts to converse with Hybrid, but continued nonetheless, hoping to perhaps drag some speech out of him. "Might you have been around when the fire burned away the old territory?" He questioned, supremely interested in this time period, as it had occurred quite soon after his departure from the land. "I wonder if you have that story...or any stories." He paused, considering whether to continue or not, figuring it couldn't hurt at this point. "I left here, apparently shortly before it happened. I just want to know why."
