I am stuck typing at the computer with the jiggly keyboard tray. Damn annoying. |:

Hybrid had arrived more or less at the same time as the other two coyotes, ones that seemed to have emerged from the flames as aliles, or perhaps had simply been awaiting their arrival on the other side of the mountains. Whatever the case was, Hybrid was certainly glad the clan was growing. He was completely unfamilar with the lands and did not know where any of the wolf packs were located, or if there were any yet. He was unsure if they had remained in their original packs, or if the fire had been too much. If they were lucky, some of the old wolves from Aremys and Syemv would have perished in the flames. It was a wishful thought, but rumour had it that the once-leader of both packs was now dead. He hoped her followers had perished alongside with her.

He eyed the two males, watching them sourly. No matter who these allies were, they better not be some sort of new-famed leaders. He had accepted Gabriel as leader because of his right to the throne, both as Prince and a worthy member. Although the clan was not a monarchy, it was certainly an oligarchy and was ruled by a small number of influential individualds. He would have to see, later, when ranks were 'assigned' what these coyotes were and what they claimed to be.

He glanced from one male to the next, then to the lands that surrounded them. The Waste. It was a fitting name for such a place, and one that would suit the coyotes quite well. The land reflected much of who the coyotes were: broken shores and sharp rocks made their presence known by the water's edge. He had not explored much else of the territory yet, but he supposed that he would soon. The end had come and passed, and now it was time for death.
