snakes and snails

The bear had done nothing in particular to offend her. It’d simply started out that she’d liked to sink her tiny, needle-sharp teeth into the soft fur, growling softly and envisioning that it was some sort of small, prey animal ensnared in her jaws. Slowly, she’d pulled her head back, holding the stuffed animal in place with her small, plush paws, and a delicious tearing had occurred. Enticed, entranced, she’d snarled louder, pulling harder, and eventually ripped the limb straight from the body. Miniscule jaws parted, exposing teeth and tongue in a feral grin. Button nose was forced into the gaping hole on the side of the bear, pulling fluff and innards out onto the blankets.

Roused into a frenzy from cottony entrails, next her fangs greeted the teddy bear’s face, tugging at the crafted features. One glassy, plastic eye rolled into the mattress. An ear felt the wrath of her jaws, coming away with some effort. Soon, only tattered pieces lay about, covering her soft fur and spilling to the floor beyond in her eagerness. Raptor gaze falling on a discarded fragment, she rolled from the blanket-nest and landed on the ground with a dull thump from her plump body. Writhing, she grasped the shred of teddy bear flesh between her teeth.
