whittling away the world
#2
There was a strange sound in the air today. It was very quiet, hard to hear. The birds weren't startled, just kept on chirping. It wasn't a noise she usually heard near her
ingala
, either. Curious she tracked the noise, wandering through the woods until she hit a tiny clearing. Underneath a tree sat a wolf she'd never seen before, looking intently at something in his hands. The source of the noise was near him, she could tell that now. Dalgina wandered closer, keeping her distance. He was different somehow. He didn't smell like any of the other canines she'd met.

Caution kept her a few feet away from him, listening to the noise. It was a steady scraping, and bits of wood were falling from his lap. She strained her head the best she could, searching for the source. It was hidden by his hands though. A small whine of frustration escaped her mouth before she could stop it. Hurriedly Dalgina scuttled out of sight, ducking behind a fallen log. She peeked over the side, looking to see if she had been noticed. Dalgina didn't want to get into any trouble, which happened whenever she wandered too far. She didn't know him, either, which made it scary to approach him.
